Obama Campaign Has Tweeted About Jay-Z & Beyonce More Than Deadly Libya Consulate Attack

Just one of President Barack Obama’s last 47 tweets from his official campaign account mentioned the crisis unfolding in the Middle East or the four Americans who lost their lives in a fiery attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya on Tuesday.

Among the tweets sent out by Obama’s Twitter account included a chance to win tickets to an Obama event hosted by Jay-Z and Beyonce, links to Obama merchandise and solicitations for $5 and $10 donations.

The only mention of the consulate assault came in the form of a retweet of the White House Twitter account:

“I strongly condemn the outrageous attack on our diplomatic facility in Benghazi” -President Obama. Full statement: on.wh.gov/jfa9We

There was one post prior to the attacks that addressed the 9/11 memorial and no posts today to acknowledge the tribute ceremony for the fallen U.S. ambassador and his staff whose bodies arrived in the U.S. on Friday.

The official account of Republican rival Mitt Romney also remained in campaign mode. Of the Romney camp’s last seven tweets spanning the same time period, two were seemingly personalized messages about remembering 9/11, including a link to a YouTube video about the importance of the American flag, and another was about a U.S. Military bill. However, the Romney Twitter account made zero mentions of the Americans killed in Libya or the ongoing turmoil in the Middle East.

Contrary to popular belief, the world does NOT revolve around twitter… a very small % of people use twitter and an even smaller % actually see the ‘tweets’…. the only reason these seem to be an issue is because they are reported by the media. This is a ‘squeeky wheel gets the grease” issue to me.

  Freedum-Americans are realizing that your candidate is a little “off,” smirking and smiling during his attempted “gotcha” news conference (in which he mistakenly condemned the President for apologizing to the angry Muslims, when he had actually made this statement, which was not apologetic at all-way before the attacks even began).
  Why is this an issue? Twitter is not the avenue to be speaking about foreign policy. I love how you went off on the “feminist” tangent not even knowing if Mary is a feminist. For you right wingers, woman+liberal=feminist. Otherwise, it is too hard to think, for you, huh?

The simple reason is that he recognizes that the youth are far more easily influenced due to the fact that that they lack experience and as such are far more trusting. “He’s tweeting so he must be cool” they may think but they fail to recognize that they are being used as product…. if they did, they would kick his ass to the curb.

my empty chair remains out on the corner of my front lawn and will stay there until after election day…they should all be tried for treason and dereliction of duty old dingy harry would not allow that. had several bomb threats around the midwest today, texas, kansas city and I think north or south dakota(memory failure); reminded me of Ayers’ weather underground days. no bombs found but nothing would surprise me now. country is full of crazies thanks to that southern border. this is beginning to sound sooooo planned in advance; there are no coincidences.
