The Real Mitt Romney: Beck Interviews People Whose Lives Have Been Touched by the GOP Nominee
On Friday evening, Glenn Beck interviewed people from Mitt Romney’s past, including the Nixon family, who were comforted by the Republican presidential nominee following a horrific car accident that left two of its members quadriplegics. Also on the set was Bryce Clark, a man mentored by Romney, Ken Smith, a former director for a Boston shelter for homeless veterans, and Reed Fisher, whose home was damaged by wildfires.
One of the common criticisms leveled against Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is that he almost comes across as being “too” put-together and restrained when it comes to showing emotion. While Ann Romney has provided much warmth and been a good focal point for campaign-watchers seeking insight into the softer-side of her husband, those whose lives have been touched and changed for the better by the GOP nominee are speaking out to share their personal stories of compassion, comfort and support.
Unlike the president, whose critics often cite the unusual nature of his seeming lack of friends, peers, colleagues and girlfriends from the past, Romney’s life appears to have been full of personal connections with everyday people who remember him fondly.
In Beck’s Dallas studio, they shared their very personal stories about Romney, painting a poignant and human picture of the presidential candidate. These are their stories.
The Nixon family’s touching story:
After his home was damaged in a wild fire in 2007, Reed Fisher got an unexpected hand from then presidential candidate Romney:
Bryce Clark discusses his struggle with alcoholism and how Romney helped him get through:
And last but not least, Ken Smith tells the story about Romney helping his charity provide for military veterans:

Posted on September 14, 2012 at 10:16pmOkay all you lefty darlings, please provide a program with real common people for whom Obama has assisted them. No, I’m not talking about the fake nurses and doctors in his Obamacare commericals. I want to know when he and Michelle were fairly private citizens what he has done for people. I would really be interested in seeing something. Surely there must be some people out there he has used his own time and money to assist throughout the years. Thank you.

Hey, I guess Glenn is soooo in love with money that he didn’t rent the Cowboys Stadium at a loss to himself and his wife to host the Restoring Love Event. And I guess he is soooo in love with money that he didn’t purchase at least 14 18 wheelers to fill with donated food and goods to distribute to food banks and indian reservations who were in need. And I guess he is soooo in love with money that he didn’t organize a “Day of Service” that brought over 30,000 Americans together to go out and do charitable work in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I guess he is so in love with money that he hasn’t donated or auctioned off priceless items to various charitable organizations totalling in the millions over te years. Yeah, I guess he is nothing but a money hungry Scrooge who doesn’t do anything good for anyone with the money he generates!! Moron.

More than likely most Americans will view it as a boring magic act that has played out time and again on the Oprah Winfrey Show. You don’t have to convince God – you have to convince the American people. God isn’t going to commit sorcery against a people in a nation where most of them don’t want liberty, or where people perform sorcery to stay married, and get elected.

Posted on September 15, 2012 at 11:28amLet’s recap some of the charitable work Mitt has done (excludes those mentioned in the RNC Convention and Glenn’s show):
Volunteer campaign worker for his dad’s gubernatorial campaign 1 year.
Unpaid intern in Governor’s office 8 years.
Mormon missionary in Paris 2 years.
Unpaid bishop and stake president for his church 10 years.
Took no salary as president of the Salt Lake Olympics 3 years.
No salary as MA governor 4 years.
Gave his ENTIRE INHERITANCE to charity.
That’s a grand total of 28 years of unpaid service to his country, his community and his church. Why? Because that’s the kind of man Mitt Romney is.
And he’ll show you his:
1) Un-doctored Birth Certificate!
2) College transcripts! Mitt was not a foreign student with a foreign student scholarship.
3) Law degree!
4) Un-doctored Draft notice!
5) And un-doctored Social Security card, and what state it’s registered in!
When was the last time we elected a politician of this character, intellect, experience and integrity?

Look at Biden’s “charity amount” too…these people are only good with other people’s money but here it the real point, I believe to Glenn’s show – loved and hope to see even more of these stories as I’ve heard there are MANY:
The real point is that THIS LIFE is a very short one… 70-80 years maybe; THIS LIFE is to allow each of us to choose or not choose GOD. That’s basically it. We are born, we get to hear about our Savior, we have life experiences and hopefully we learn to call upon GOD and then once called upon we learn we can TRUST GOD and we get over the “earthly finish line” we look back for others we can help. This is often referred to as THE SERVANT’S HEART. It’s when very successful people (people who have mastered their demons, learned about God, learned to do the right thing) look ourside of themselves . ROMNEY looks outside of himself. This is the best thing we could have in a PRESIDENT. A Nurturing, Patriotic, STRONG, MATURE, Servant who wants to see ALL people fulfill their purpose on earth. Obama is a brat/punk/demonic self-centered, arrogant and WEAK ‘man’.

Romney is a squeaky clean, decent, unselfish, quiet, giving individual
without the need for fanfare or applause.
He is comfortable, within his own skin….unlike Oblameo.
Romney doesn’t need this Presidency, he has a very good life.
The only motive to run for the Oval Office is the one he gives-
his hope to restore America, back to prosperity & greatness.
His own history proves he’s a worker, a winner & a LEADER.
That’s exactly what America needs-
I guarantee you, Romney is not going to skip out on his PDBs.
He’s not going to throw over Netanyahu for Letterman.
We need a dignified leader…not “Hot doggin” president, as Eastwood stated.
That said, Romney, his campaign & the American people
must do everything possible to win this election !

Your politics and mine are almost identical so lets put those aside. Mitt Romney is a man of character he exemplifies what made this country great, individuals helping eachother not the Government. Barack Obama’s first political fund raiser he ever held was in a convicted terrorist’s house, William Ayers. Just based on these two facts who do you think will be a better leader? A man who truly loves and helps others or a man who has shown that he won’t even help his own brother…

When you make a comment asking to hear from the liberal side about all the good deeds the president made before he became president; all you do is demean every good work Romney has done. The point I gathered from the stories of Mitt Romney was the humility of Gov. Romney’s character. The last thought that would ever cross his mind was what am I going to get in return for this act of kindness. Let alone think wow my opponent is going to have to save a bunch of nuns to top this. To ask for a quid pro quo from the Obama camp is an insult to everything Romney stands for as a man. Had Romney wanted credit for any of these good deeds he certainly has a telephone, his staffers have telephones, I reckon some of those telephones even have video cameras. The fact of the matter is come November 7 Obama will no longer have a reason to pander to the American people and Mitt Romney will still answer to his conscience. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what is in the best interest of the country. So to be fair, I could honestly care less if Barrack and Michelle doled out soup in some kitchen back in ’82. I care they did so with the forethought to make certain it was a government subsidized soup kitchen as opposed to a faith based soup kitchen. Mitt and his family just wanted to make sure the soup was warm.

From what I hear, he sits in the White House all day watching ESPN and sports, while he delegates people, or Valerie to attend the meetings for him, that way, he can say he knows what went on in the meetings. He’s nothing but a poser of a president, who wants to take as much credit as he can for things he was involved with, personally.
When the SHTF, like it did in the Gulf disaster, he could not be found, or on a vacation. It was only AFTER people were wonder why he was absent, did the poser show up and pretend to be doing something by walking on a beach. There is no comparison between Oblameus and Romney. One is a bisexual Chicago thug, who lets late-term, aborted babies die, and the other is an every-week, church-attending, helping the needy, secret-santa, turn-the business-around, anti-attention-seeking, sort of guy, who emulates what it means to be a Christian. Obama, I just spent [time] at the beginning of the program how Obama is destroying our country. Destroying our institutions. Romney won’t even call him a socialist. This reminds me of McCane. McCane attacking conservatives all the time, but when it cam to Obama he held back. He pulled back. Something’s not right here.” -Mark Levin 3/15
“So … On the one side of his mouth he’s talking about the Declaration Of Independence, capitalism, he’s a businessman, and on the other side he’s defending RomneyCare, which is really the most radical health care plan before ObamaCare, and he’s defending the mandate because he’s saying it’s only the State imposing it’s will on the citizen.” -Mark Levin 1/30

Why WOULD the media report on this? It’s just a fluff piece presented on a right-wing blog.
—————————–
You just proved what the left thinks of individuals that think of others before themselves. That means that if there are those that go out of there way to serve others then people like you denounce them.
You know why that is?.. It is because people like you need people to take care of them because you are so worthless that you are unable to serve others. You are the type that wants the government to take from the working class to give back you you.

Posted on September 15, 2012 at 7:05am@exrepub Well the media has been coordinating and amplifying the drumbeat of, “Mitt Romney’s not likeable”, “he’s not like us,”"He can’t relate to normal people.” That’s why this is news, because if those are such important issues that they talk about them literally every day and the other side is out there– they should show it! How about all those important news pieces about the Obamas at home with their family dog “BO”? (Named after his important owner, of course.)

A person that gives his time and effort for others not just once but over and over again and not just one person but many. Mitt Romney is a real man that has real values.
I understand that having values and virtues in alien to you but there are really real people that serve their fellow man without thought or question why they do such.
I understand that people like you think that only government can do these things. Do you realize that when this happens it is money taken forcibly from others to have complete control over your life to keep power and control over you

That is because Encinom is rotten. Rotton people attract other rotten people. Like the Obama’s. They got married because they both love the same kind of evil. A two-fold doubled up children of hell. Children of hell hate those who are good. They are heady, highminded, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, without natural affection. Their tongue is set on course the fire of hell. Posted on September 15, 2012 at 9:48amI read a while back when all the anti Bain Capital frenzy started on the Left that Bain’s success rate was 78% at turning failing businesses around. Maybe in Lib world where the fantasy is that everything always succeeds if the government does it, in the real world a 78% success in a tough arena is a pretty good stat. And God forbid a business actually made a profit.
Someone opined that a baseball player with a career .780 batting average would have his own wing at the Hall of Fame, but for Romney it’s a record of “shame and heartlessness”.
The Libs installed Obama as a god (lower case “g”) and afterwards exempted him from scrutiny lest they be labelled a heretic and excommunicated from the cult of Liberalism. No critical analysis, no character assessment, just blind obiesance and fawning praise.
Good works and charity are never expected from him, community organization was his lifetime pass at humanity and service to his fellow man. He lets his own family struggle while he preaches care and concern for others. It would be a bad joke if it weren’t reality.

You spell “your” when it should be “you’re”, a contraction of “you are” in two separate places, eliminating the possible that you fat fingered the spelling the first time. Then you use the word “than” when you speak of your friend, Soros, who will “than” save obama, instead of “then”. It’s no wonder you don’t understand we conservatives. You don’t even understand how to spell English or use it properly. So typical of you liberals who depend on your fellow travelers in the government to pay your way. You’ve actually destroyed yourself and you’re incapable of even realizing it. You have shown your ignorance – just like obama does. Can’t spell, can’t speak, can’t lead. Of course we know there are establishment types in the republican party who push their hand-picked candidate (and that candidate is never Tea Party). However, I thought we had good guys on our side who could help swing it in our favor. Glenn Beck was supposed to be one of those guys. Glenn Beck would occasionally complain about Mitt Romney – but he would also talk about his good qualities. Beck ultimately supported Rick Santorum because he knew Rick had zero chance of winning in the end.

Posted on September 14, 2012 at 8:12pmLet’s compare and contrast Mitt and Barry,Romney helped these people through some tough times and given millions to charities over the years. Barry was a community agitator advocating social welfare programs and helping unions all over the country. He started two unconstitutional wars and received the Nobel peace prize for his trouble.Romney is a crony capitalist,he’ll have to work on getting rid of the crony part of his capitalism after he takes office.Barry is a Marxist fraud POS. Easy choice.

Posted on September 14, 2012 at 8:18pmLost the signal and tried to get back on several times but by the time the connection was established the topic had shifted to the other guest. I guess I’ll just have to replay the episode and see what I missed.

Posted on September 14, 2012 at 8:24pmYes .. I thought it was my ROKU … it would start over in one spot and replay to about a minute later and then shut (start spinning for a connection) again. Glad it wasn’t just me .. going to try to rewatch this weekend.

Posted on September 14, 2012 at 8:10pmWhat a breath of fresh air this program was. Romney is someone who has done very charitable, caring things for people and has not gone on tv trying to impress anyone about his accomplishments. This is a man of true character.

Posted on September 14, 2012 at 10:02pmAgreed. Mitt Romney gives America someone exceptional and genuine to vote FOR and not simply against this election. What wonderful acts of selfless service! Makes me want to be kinder and more helpful to my neighbors.

My… aren’t you the new little newbie troll devil with “hornz” on your forehead?
I’m sure Glenn will do a story on that after Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi release their Swiss bank accounts, Cayman Island investments and tax returns. Oh, let’s not forget Obama’s, plus his college transcripts and everything else that is “sealed”. And I don’t mean “SEAL” Team 6…. who BO exposed for killing Bin Laden and 17 of them are now dead.

Posted on September 14, 2012 at 8:24pmThere are MILLIOINS of people losing their jobs due to Obamas policies. Why don’t you go interview some of them. Businesses are afraid of the future and most have battened down the hatches (AKA hiring freezes). In otherwords, we will have high unemployment for the foreseeable future. Obama said he would cut the deficit in half, but now its 50% higher. Gas is now more than twice as expensive ($1.85 vs. $3.85). Unemployment has been over 8% for more than 3 years. (it was mid6′s on Jan 2009) This is longer then any time except the Great Depression To quote the great Al Gore, “whatever is up………should be down, and whatever is down, should be up”.

Posted on September 14, 2012 at 8:28pmI understand that you HIDE your money in a local bank. What is wrong with putting your money into a bank that pays more interest, that happens to be out of the country. It is HIS money. He can do what he wants to with it. Stop trying to make a crime out of protecting what belongs to you.

Posted on September 14, 2012 at 8:39pmHORNZ – what a rube. How can Romney’s money be hidden if everyone knows about it? An unemployment rate over 8% for how many months now? The worst economy since Millard Fillmore? The Middle East worse than when he took office? Obama is the biggest presidential failure in American history. He makes Jimmy Carter look like the good old days.

Posted on September 14, 2012 at 8:01pmThat’s nice. As long as a person does not think that they are saved by good works and that they do it not to get recognition and praise of man. Everything must be done to give God glory and if that is not in the heart, it will not be remembered on judgment day.
