This Is the Man Who Reportedly Translated & Sent the Anti-Muhammad Film to Egyptian Journalists

Morris Sadek Reportedly Sent Innocense of Muslims to Egyptian Journalists

Protests in the Middle East that are being blamed on an anti-Islamic and anti-Muhammad film continue to rage. And as details unfold about the shadowy figures behind the film, the plot thickens. This morning, TheBlaze provided more details about Steve Klein, a man who served as a spokesman for the film. And last night, we learned more about Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, the filmmaker involved who has a criminal past.

Now, information is coming out about the man who is said to have intentionally translated and sent the video to Egyptian media, thus allegedly sparking a portion of the outrage. Since the initial violent reaction to the video emerged on September 11, many have wondered how the film came to the attention of Middle Eastern media and citizens, alike.

Religion News Service (RNS) is reporting that Morris Sadek, an Egyptian-born Coptic Christian, translated the movie into Arabic and sent it to Egyptian journalists. He also allegedly promoted it on his web site and through social media, the outlet reports. RNS has more about his background:

Morris Sadek describes himself as a human rights attorney and president of a small group called the National American Coptic Assembly, based in Chantilly, Va. Sadek says on his website that he is a member of the Egyptian and District of Columbia bar associations who has “defended major human rights cases†including the late Coptic Pope Shenouda III, who died in March.

But fellow Copts depict Sadek as a fringe figure and publicity hound whose Islamophobic invectives disrupt Copts’ quest for equal rights in Egypt.

Cynthia Farahat, the director of advocacy for a group called Coptic Solidarity, made the claim that Sadek “has done a lot of harmful things for Copts in Egypt.” Also, in a statement, the group said that the controversial figure has used “inflammatory and abrasive language to insult Muslims and Islam.” The group also dubbed him as belonging to an extreme group of Copts.

“Every single thing he says is used by Islamists to justify terrorism against Copts,†Farahat continued.

Michael Meunier, president of U.S. Copts Association, claims that, by taking these actions, Sadek was likely looking for fame in Egyptian media. Considering that he lost his Egyptian citizenship and was banned from the country back in 2011, it makes sense that he would potentially be looking to raise his profile in the region.

Here’s a video that purportedly shows him screaming “Islam is evil!” outside of the National Press Building in Washington, D.C.:

“I really think Morris just wanted to get famous in the Egyptian media,†Meunier explained, going on to say that Sadek “wanted to steal the work of someone else to gain fame in the media and the result is now clear.”

The Journal provides more about the way in which the film made its way from America to Egypt, citing Sadek as the key connection to making it happen:

The spark that elevated the video from the Internet’s backwater appears to have been provided by Morris Sadek, an Egyptian-American Coptic activist living in the Washington, D.C., area. Mr. Sadek has been an outspoken anti-Islamic activist in the U.S., where he runs a small group called the National American Coptic Assembly.

On Sept. 6, Mr. Sadek sent an email to journalists around the world promoting a Sept. 11 event held by Rev. Terry Jones, the Florida pastor who previously sparked deadly protests by burning a copy of the Quran. In the email, Mr. Sadek included a link to the 14-minute YouTube clip.

On Sept. 6, Sadek emailed journalists around the world, promoting Jones’ anti-Islamic event and including footage of “Innocence of Muslims,â€Â according to The Wall Street Journal. A conservative TV host in Egypt broadcast the video on Sept. 8, sparking protests at the U.S. embassy in Cairo.

While RNS claims that Sadek may have translated the clip himself, the Journal reports that it may have been Egyptian journalists, themselves, who translated it. Originally, reports claimed that Sadek merely promoted the film, but now it seems he played a more integrated role in bringing it to the attention of media.

When Reuters reached him to ask if he was sorry that the promotion of the film led to death and violence, he answered affirmatively.

“Of course, of course, of course. Thought should be answered by thought,” he said, claiming that he didn’t realize just how offensive the film was to Islam. ”I am only (leading) a Coptic organization that promoted the film. I am only interested in the first part about persecution of Copts.”

As TheBlaze has extensively reported before, Copts have faced a plethora of discrimination in the religion. Many fear that the film and its promotion will, in addition to the violence we’ve already seen, add a layer of trouble and tribulation for Egyptian Copts and other Christians in the region.

Sadek is obviously not the brightest candle in the menorah, or the smartest puppy in the litter either. The movie didn’t cause the riots it just gave the religion of murderers and thugs another reason to stir up the mobs. It’s getting to be time to cut the nonsense out and start hitting back, and not by sending our military in for an indefinite period either. Cut off ALL aid of every kind to any and all countries attacking our facilities, and let ‘em suffer. Use the money otherwise wasted to get a start on paying down the debt. Oh, and foreign oil, drill baby drill right here at home and in the Gulf and everywhere else there might be oil.

My thoughts exactly. IMO, why not take in ALL of the 8 millon Copic Christians from over there in exchange for all the 8 million hard core Islamics here?
This way these Copic Christians will be safe and everyone wins.

It is estimated that methane and methanol production alone from hemp grown as biomass could replace 90% of the world’s energy needs.[2] If they are right, this is not good news for oil interests and could account for the continuation of marijuana prohibition. The claim is that the threat hemp posed to natural resource companies back in the thirties accounts for its original ban. At one time marijuana seemed to have a promising future as a cornerstone of industry. When Rudolph Diesel produced his famous engine in 1896, he assumed that the diesel engine would be powered by a variety of fuels, especially vegetable and seed oils. Rudolph Diesel, like most engineers then, believed vegetable fuels were superior to petroleum. Hemp is the most efficient vegetable.

we saw the trailer when teh news first came out, it was so pitiful and homemade, but said nothing we didn’t already think about islam based on the facts known about moHAMmed. they may as well scream for us to ban the books exposing islam’s invade, conquer and enslavement agenda. given all the facts islam boasts about him, moHammed was a pedophile, a serial killer and a drug-addled soiciopath who slaughtered all of his unfortunate neighbors who had LAUGHED AT HIM when he first told them they were supposed to obey him because of his drug-induced hallucinations.

What I found funny (not really) is how Sec. of State Clinton called Islam one of the great religions of the world. The Ambassador was sodomized before he was killed. This really p***es me off as it should all Americans. We also dont hear of how many of those a**h***s that the two security guys killed before being killed. Maybe we will but it needs to be out there. If Christians acted like Muslims do, do you think Christianity would be called a great religion? H*ll no. Its time to get angry America .

Odinga Lost due to Voter Fraud (Obama Practicing for 2008), and then Rampaged through Kenya killing over 3000 Christians and Foreigners. He even Locked a large group of Christians in a Church and Burned it to the Ground. Obama Returned and Wrote a Peace Treaty installing Odinga as Prime Minister and the Head of Security for Kenya.

The Arabs were kept as slaves by the Ottoman Empire for 500 years, until the Christians set them free after WWII, (and they’ve been acting like escaped slaves ever since.)

No other group of that size has been kept as slaves, not permitted to govern themselves, for that long in modern (or ancient) times. A few decades of slavery turned black family values into garbage, can you imagine the effect of half a millennium?

So, when they try to govern themselves, psycho serial murderers like Saddam, organized crime like the Assads, and the Saudi Bigoted Beverly Hillbillies show up.

They are a tribal culture and even their governments are of tribal origins. There is no thought o rule by the people, through elected representatives or otherwise. I just finished an insightful book: “Nomad”, by Ayaan Hirsi Ali. It is a ‘must read’ for anyone hoping to ‘understand’ the situation, as it gives a personal view and insight of someone who has ‘been there, done that’ and then studied the Western Enlightenment. The two are INCOMPATIBLE! Worse, MOST of those of the Islamic persuasion are marginally literate and have little understanding of the World around them! Thus, they are easily manipulated to riot in the name of Allah or as instigated by those who might cite Muhammad and the Quoran! This is a VERY VOLATILE and DANGEROUS SITUATION! It is a mistake for a Westerner to attempt to ‘understand’ the mid-Eastern mind, without having been raised in the culture, lived in it for an extended time or studied it, from within, and NOT just by citing the scholoarly works of scholarly workers!

That’s what they bow down to 5 times a day. At the precise center of all that global bowing is an ancient Pagan Idol called the Ka’aba Stone, which is made of shocked quartz that only comes from Meteors and Thermonuclear Weapons.

They also should visit the Pagan Idol once in their lives, where they circle the Pagan Idol 7 times, pointing at the Pagan Idol every time around and finally, kissing the Pagan Idol at the end.

Muhammad inherited the job of Ka’aba Stone Pagan High Priest from his grandfather. The Ka’aba Pagan Idol concession was in the family for generations.

Before he inherited the job of Pagan High Priest, Muhammad’s claim to fame was settling a dispute among the tribes about who would set the Ka’aba Stone Pagan Idol in place. He settled it by putting it on a blanket and having each tribe grab the edge. He personally had the honor of placing the ancient Pagan Idol in place.

One day, after inheriting the job of Ka’aba Pagan Idol High Priest, he decided to destroy the other minor Pagan Idols in the Ka’aba Pagan Idol Shrine, and only keep the one that he personally set in place, and make it the Pagan Idol of a mixture of the old Pagan customs and a cartoon version of Christianity.

You can’t discuss Muhammad or Islam without discussing the worship of Pagan Idols.

Our ‘president’ and his state department (Hillary included) have already issued the liberal apologies to Egypt, which essentially is part two of the Cairo speech Obama gave in June 2009.

Let me drive the point home for you; Obama sent US Troops and Warplanes (without the consent of Congress) to support the “Libyan Rebels” and murder Gaddafi, and we abandoned Mubarak to the “Arab Spring” for “Democracy” even though he’d been a lynchpin of a stable ME for the last 30 years.

How did that turn out for us? The Embassies in Egypt and Libya were stormed and burned, and the Ambassador to Libya was assassinated. The fire is spreading and today brings more death and conflict at Muslim hands. Why dont you ask the US Ambassador to Libya about the consequences of Islamic Hegemony and Western Ideals, and whether or not Obama should have been campaigning while Rome burned? It doesn’t matter what we want; worldwide Jihad is at our door.

Where is the Whitehouse on this? What has Obama done aside from continuously apologizing for perceived insults to Muslim religious sensibilities and attack Romney? Where is the strong response? And we’re STILL sending the Muslim Brotherhood $5 Billion a year in Aid?

    Here’s what a “Show of Force” looks like for any Nation actively supporting Jihad against the United States looks like;
    Immediate permanent Arms Embargo.
Immediate permanent Foreign Aid (money) embargo.
Immediate 5yr cessation of all shipments of Food Aid.
Immediate 5yr cessation of all shipments of Medical Aid.
Immediate 5yr application of a 400% Tariff on all goods imported from any nation involved.

In addition to your list, if any nation directly supports the Jihadists in attacking the United States we provide them the ultimate enforcement: nuclear.

You know, I would have voted for Ron Paul if he would have stuck 100% in all areas with Israel. Stopping the money to these Muslims countries stops the violence because no one can fight on an empty stomach. Am…Israel Shalom!

Slow down there Curtis LeMay. Enough with the whole “Let’s drop a nuclear bomb on a country and kill millions of innocent civilians because we don’t like what some of the not-so-innocent civilians in that country are doing” thing.

Why is The Blaze buying into the Obama administration’s narrative that all this is because of a video?

I emailed Billy Hallowell asking that same question re: the article that headline was “This Is a Recap of Mass Islamist Protests Against the U.S. Over Anti-Islam Film”

I don’t know if they are buying into the video thing. The truth is, the video helped create the smoke screen, so it’s all related. Too much information is better than too little. The major media is doing a bang up job ignoring news that doesn’t fit their mold and doing their best to make Obama look good.

I want to know why Glen Beck is posting these people’s pictures and names. These people need to be protected from the Muslims and Government prosecution, for freedom of speech, not hunted down and ratted on. This is the very thing that is going to happen to Christians and Jews at the end of time, people ratting on other people. Am…Israel Shalom!

      Hi Gonzo,

I didn’t get that out of the article. The first line says, “Protests in the Middle East that are being blamed on an anti-Islamic and anti-Muhammad film continue to rage.”

It’s true that the MSM is blaming the film. I heard Glenn say yesterday that there is no way that the film was to blame for the 9-11 attacks on the Embassies. Actually, the article states something I’ve been searching for…. the date the edited version was sent to the Egyptian media. That was on Sept 6th.

In today’s world of social media and the Internet; the riots “should” have started on Sept 7th or the 8th at the latest. I read on The Blaze Wed or Thurs that this attack was already planned on Aug 30th. I also read where Joe Biden’s “Osama is dead, GM is alive” and all the spray painting of “Osama’s” name and chanting of “We are all Osama… Obama” shows the film is just a MSM spin for the blame.

Does this make sense or am I wrong?

      @Cida

The photo from his Twitter account and the news video are already out there… everywhere.

Not showing them here or reporting on a story “The Journal” has already reported on would have little to with keeping this guy safe.

Monk, Don’t just look at this one, look at the whole series of articles since this thing has started. It may be nothing more than semantics, but I don’t like it.

I don’t think they are for a second. I don’t know how many times I have heard everyone on the Blaze laugh off the “video” excuse. Their view is that this whole thing was planned and I agree. With the thousands of anti-Islam videos on UTube, why this one? What was so special about this one?

So the policy of killing coptics in Egypt is what? Cool? Normal?

Somebody makes a movie and you sodomize an ambassador and murder him and his staff. Yeah, makes total sense.

Freaking heathen animals…all of them. Bring everyone home, don’t give these animals a dime and drill our own oil. Let them rot in the 7th century and let them slaughter each other.

What kind of President bows down to 7th century throwbacks who mutilate women and girls for appearing too western, or hang gays and Christians alike, or strap bombs to innocents to kill other innocents?.. What kind of President even suggests that we apologize for the actions of some nut job filmmaker who has produced an infantile piece of crap that no one has seen? Obama simply must go
