Chuck Norris, The KKK, & Nukes: The Top 10 Most Brutal Attack Ads In Presidential History

This week, we saw the Romney campaign brutalized by the media over Romney’s supposed  ”unconscionable attacks” on the Obama administration.  But are things really that bad?  A quick look at our nation’s presidential campaign history should clear things up:

10. Eisenhower: “Taxes break our back…it’s tragic!”

9. W. Bush: John Kerry looks ridiculous on a windsurfer

8. H.W. Bush:  Dukakis looks even more ridiculous in a tank

7. Kennedy: President Eisenhower can’t really name any Nixon accomplishments

6. Clinton: President Bush kinda did this to himself

5.  I mean, if you get Chuck Norris in your ad you are automatically on this list

4.  LBJ: The KKK “like” Barry Goldwater

3. H.W. Bush: Willie Horton murders children, Dukakis approves of that

2. LBJ drops a nuke on a little girl

1. Adams: “Jefferson is the son of a half-breed Indian Squaw raised on hoe cakes.”

Jefferson: “Adams is a hideous, hermaphroditical character.”

EXTRA: Harsh campaign Ad against John McCain featuring his Vietnamese POW camp guards

I’ve read several reports about John McCain using his father’s name, a US admiral, commanding an entire fleet, to get special treatment. There are reports about McCain giving himself over to the Vietnamese communists. They secretly filmed him as he gave up top secret information. Another report also states that has a Vietnamese wife and children which he abandoned after leaving Nam.

Political attack ads were much worse back then. Some politicians openly called their opponents, “lepers” and “S*d*mites”, among other things.

Obama and Clinton have blood on their hands! This is a direct result of a weak leadership and their arrogance that they do not need DPBs. If America is to have a chance to correct herself, obama must go!!!!!!!!!

The last one was the best because its truly how silly some of the attacks are when they are not even trying to be funny. Ya gotta be a moron to believe either the Dems or Pubs have the American peoples back. I approve of this message.

The Johnson ad on the KKK really brought back memories of my father’s dislike for the man. Dad was a diehard Republican from West Virginia whose family paid a high price during the war (Civil War) for being abolitionists. His grandfather was born in 1850 and was a young man when the barns were burned and animals stolen or killed by Democrat neighbors with slaves.

Here is a taped conversation from Johnson’s White House.

”These Negroes, they‘re getting pretty uppity these days and that‘s a problem for us since they‘ve got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we‘ve got to do something about this, we‘ve got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference.”
    ~Lyndon B. Johnson (Democrat)

President Lyndon Baines Johnson, on his “Great Society” to help the *****… was recorded on a White House taped (and saved) conversation claiming, “I’ll have them ******* voting Democratic for the next two hundred years.”

From the Frederick Douglas Institute in NYC

    http://www.fdfny.org/blog/2011/09/18/these-uppity-negroes-lbj/

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.” — Josef Goebbels

And so it goes on today. How can a self respecting African American vote for these people?

Because no one cares what a party “used to be” they only care what it is now.

In the 1800s, the Republican party was the left leaning party compared to the Whigs.

Greater liberty is always “left” of greater government control. Don’t get lassoed in and burned by redefinition of freedom as a conservative/right issue….conservatives have been defined as monarchists/oligarchs through most cultures and Western history except for the recent US. Johnson and Obama fit the oligarch description better than the GOP platform in 1964 or 2012.

Johnson, Carter, Gore, Clinton what color uniform did their grand daddies wear in 1864? Butternut and gray. The populist radical GOP (like me) was/is always towards the working man, the mechanic, the farmer, the small businessman who wish to be free with “free” labor and left alone (libertarian) by monopolists, slave owners, government or unions.

Only in the last 50 years have we seen a melding of the GOP and Democratic ruling classes such that they become indistinguishable except in degree. The Tea Party, Perot, libertarianism is the popular will expressing anger at the betrayal of the GOP establishment trying to pull the party back to radical liberty…..blacks need to join us other little guys if they want freedom and not reservation status. As Johnson tapes above show….they are just chained on another plantation today, their families destroyed, their children bereft of hope.

The GOP leadership needs to give us more radicals and fewer tepid RINO’s like old man Bush, Dole, McCain, and now Romney.

Beck, despite his faults, is making a great contribution to providing a voice to radical

But being serious, why would this be rated as an attack ad.
    It was simply an endorsement.

Before he died of brain cancer, blue-collar guitarist and political operative Lee Atwater (Willie Horton, Dukakis Tank ads) converted to Catholicism and wrote a series of contrite letters admitting he did most of his negative campaigning as “blood sport” instead of promoting truth, justice and the American way.

His two main legacies today are 1) Karl Rove, and 2) the upscale Red, Hot & Blue barbeque restaurant chain.

Our family eats at Red, Hot & Blue 5 or 6 times a month, and we have frequently seen the great collections of southern musical & political memorabilia there. That’s how I was inspired to view his biography, Boogie Man.

Given Romney’s record of being on every side of every issue Obama could easily use the John Kerry ad. Romney was for Planned Parenthood before he was against it, was for healthcare and the mandate before he was against it, etc.

Wow GB, Rush and now the blaze all circling the wagons to take the heat off Romney. Rush provided his typical silliness to day claiming that its not Romney that looks like the foreign policy neophyte. Rush does nothing more than take the attack lines that are justified for Romney and come up with a narrative that applies them to the PRESIDENT. Which means the listener with a fully functioning brain that is stronger than their ideological addiction realizes that Rush is doing nothing more than validating the statements against Romney. Cause if they weren’t true he wouldn’t feel a need to make a lame attempt to deflect them onto the PRESIDENT.

JROOK is right! Obama ‘orchestrated,’ indirectly, through his insightful planning, guidence and wisdom, those attacts on our Councelet and Embassy and all the associated mid east unrest at this time. What a stroke of geneous. Barry is in complete control! Then the admin’s appologies to the aggressors, later discarded and replaced with bold ‘we’ll get you’ dialogue, then retracted on itself 4 or 5 times. That way he makes everyone happy. It all really makes Barry look like he knows what he’s doing. He’s got a game plan! Of course Rush et al are using conservative talking points to make Barry look like a bigger, well probably not bigger, fool than he’s doing brilliantly on his own. The lamestream media is coming to the aid of ‘O’, but through their inept efforts they are hilariously fanning the flames.

As an aside, the dem convention accidently, on purpose, shows Russian war ships behind dem. veterans. The dems are inadvertently providing a priceless comedy skit for the world to enjoy through their clumsy efforts. This whole dem fiasco would be funny, if it didnt adversely affect peoples lives even unto death. If Barry wins this election i’ll be surprised.
