Who Are ‘Muslims’ & What Do They Believe? This Is the History Surrounding Muhammad & Islam
Editor’s note: This article will be part of a mini-series about Islam, a faith system that often finds itself at the center of media headlines and public scrutiny. In light of recent geopolitical events, TheBlaze will be analyzing the religious system to help readers better understand its key components.

Islam is one of the world’s most popular religions, but it’s also among the most complex and misunderstood faith systems. This fact remains, despite its prominence in terms of the number of adherents and its prevalence in mainstream news media. When considering an overall analysis, there are a wide variety of reasons why the Muslim faith is so difficult to pin down.
To begin, political events (September 11 and international terror incidents) have helped to color the public’s sometimes negative perception of the faith. As a result, there’s an overwhelming tendency to view the Muslim religion as a singular entity — however, this oversimplifies the dynamics both within and surrounding the faith.

Considering Islam’s wide reach into diverse territories, there are a multitude of traditions, beliefs and customs that can be found within the Muslim umbrella. Many times, media report about the Islamic faith as though it is overwhelmingly linear. But, like many other religious traditions, the customs and practices that are undertaken by adherents greatly differ — as do the interpretations of its central commandments.
Operating as though all Muslims are coequal in terms of theology and outward expression is akin to claiming that all Protestants and Catholics believe in the same worship mechanisms and doctrine. Just as there are multiple denominations within the Christian and Jewish realm, so are there in the Islamic sphere.
Exploring the Muslim faith, then, can’t be done using a cookie-cutter approach. One must contextualize and consider all of the attributes that lead to the multitude of interpretations that exist within the religious structure.
After all, context is key. This is the same ideological construct one would use when exploring differing Christian ideals. There are specific historical and cultural happenings that led to different Christ-centric denominations. This is the same ideal governing Islam. While the majority of Muslims are people who would never subscribe to violence to advance a cause, many groups and, subsequently, individuals who embrace more radical interpretations of the faith would — and, in fact, do use horrific tactics.
Today, 1.6 billion individuals around the world call themselves Muslims (23.4 percent of the overall global population). The BBC has a list that helps to frame the faith’s central components in some quick-and-easy bullet points:
- Muslims believe that Islam was revealed over 1400 years ago in Mecca, Arabia.
- Followers of Islam are called Muslims.
- Muslims believe that there is only One God.
- The Arabic word for God is Allah.
- According to Muslims, God sent a number of prophets to mankind to teach them how to live according to His law.
- Jesus, Moses and Abraham are respected as prophets of God.
- They believe that the final Prophet was Muhammad.
- Muslims believe that Islam has always existed, but for practical purposes, date their religion from the time of the migration of Muhammad.
- Muslims base their laws on their holy book the Qur’an, and the Sunnah.
- Muslims believe the Sunnah is the practical example of Prophet Muhammad and that there are five basic Pillars of Islam.
- These pillars are the declaration of faith, praying five times a day, giving money to charity, fasting and a pilgrimage to Mecca (atleast once).
We will be exploring many of these sentiments, but, to begin, let’s take a look at a brief history of Islam.
THE HISTORY OF ISLAM
“Islam,” which means ”acceptance,” “surrender,” “submission,” or “commitment” in Arabic, can be traced back to Muhammad’s birth around 570 A.D. At the time of the prophet’s emergence, the Arabian Peninsula was overwhelmingly animistic and polytheistic, but the presence of this leader in the region changed that dynamic (Christian and Jewish sects did reside in the region, although they comprised a minority of the people).
Considering that Christians and Jews were already present, it’s interesting to note that this third monotheistic religion was created and caught on so feverishly. When one understands the context, it becomes clear why Muhammad launched the Islamic faith. Feeling as though the scriptures governing the faiths that preceded Islam had gone astray and were corrupted, Muhammad contended (or Muslims, at the least, now believ)e, that he was called as the final prophet to correct the record of theology.

The true founding of the faith can be traced back to the “Night of Power,” a pivotal event during which Muhammad was given a vision by God. The faith leader went to the caves of Mount Hira near Mecca, where he sought to meditate and perform vigils, Patheos writes. It was there that the Archangel Gabriel appeared to him and allegedly commanded him to “recite” in the name of God, at one point choking the prophet until he complied.
This event apparently launched the faith, as Muhammad began teaching his followers after it unfolded. The vision purportedly occurred around 610 A.D. (when he was 40) and the faith leader is said to have continued receiving revelations until 632 A.D., when he died.
THE KORAN & THE HADITH
The central holy book in Islam is the Koran (also: Quran, meaning “recitation”) — considered so sacred that it is sometimes hung from the ceiling or placed at the top of a book shelf (so that no other book is centered above it). Unlike the Bible, which Christians read and study intensely, the Koran is said to be best communicated when it is orally presented.
Interestingly, the only time the book is considered legitimate and in its true form is when it is delivered in Arabic; all other translations are considered subpar. In fact, any non-Arabic version of the Koran is considered only an interpretation and is not revered as God’s literal commentary to humanity. However, the book has been translated into every language and, since most Muslims live outside of the Middle East, it’s likely that many people are reading the non-Arabic versions.
The history of how the book came to be is a fascinating one. While the Bible is reliant upon Jesus’ own words (Christ, being part of the Trinity and, thus, a portion of the Almighty), the Koran documents God’s words purportedly being spoken and delivered through Muhammad. These “revelations” that came through the prophet were originally orally recited and then codified in a more complete form following the prophet’s death. Patheos has more on the history:
The Quran contains a record of the revelations recited by the prophet Muhammad over a period of approximately twenty-two years in piecemeal, from 610 to 632. Muhammad commissioned scribes to record the revelations in writing, and at the time of his death, a number of his followers had memorized the entire text. As Muhammad’s followers began to die, the community became concerned that variations on the revelations would proliferate, and the original, authentic revelation would become obscured. Work began on producing an authoritative version, starting with the time-consuming task of gathering all the revelations from both written and oral sources. Muhammad’s wives, companions, and scribes all owned partial versions. The challenge was to correlate all the partial versions, decide between variations, and produce an authoritative version. Under Uthman, the third caliph, a team of scholars led by one of Muhammad’s companions completed the task by around 650.
The book has 115 chapters, which are called “surahs.” Like Biblical chapters, these surahs contain between three and 286 verses each. Similar to many Christians who believe that the Bible is the direct and perfect word of God, so do Muslims view the Koran as the literal word of Allah (but, again, only the Arabic version). Thus, the original version of the book exists either in heaven or in the mind of the Lord.

While the Koran is the only official Islamic holy book when it comes to exploring life matters, adherents also look to the hadith, a record of Muhammad’s traditions and sayings. The hadith is the basis for religious law and moral guidance and, though it comes second to the Koran, it is extremely important in Muslim societies. The University of Georgia explains the important social and legal regulatory structures presented in it:
A hadith is a saying of Muhammad or a report about something he did. Over time, during the first few centuries of Islam, it became obvious that many so-called hadith were in fact spurious sayings that had been fabricated for various motives, at best to encourage believers to act righteously and at worse to corrupt believers’ understanding of Islam and to lead them astray. Since Islamic legal scholars were utilizing hadith as an adjunct to the Qur’an in their development of the Islamic legal system, it became critically important to have reliable collections of hadith.
While the early collections of hadith often contained hadith that were of questionable origin, gradually collections of authenticated hadith called sahih (lit. true, correct) were compiled. Such collections were made possible by the development of the science of hadith criticism, a science at the basis of which was a critical analysis of the chain of (oral) transmission (isnad) of the hadith going all the way back to Muhammad. The two most highly respected collections of hadith are the authenticated collections the Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. (Sahih literally means “correct, true, valid, or sound.”)
In addition to these, four other collections came to be well-respected, although not to the degree of Bukhari and Muslim’s sahih collections. These four other collections are the Sunan of Tirmidhi, Nasa’i, Ibn Majah, and Abu Da’ud. Together these four and the two sahih collections are called the “six books” (al-kutub al-sitta). Two other important collections, in particular, are the Muwatta of Ibn Malik, the founder of the Maliki school of law, and the Musnad of Ahmad ibn Hanbal, the founder of the Hanbali school of law.
The hadith are the basis of shariah (political and religious law). Unlike the Koran, which — as a reminder — focuses upon God’s alleged words, the hadith delve into Muhammad’s statements, deeds and other important information about the time during which Islam was founded. Since, as Patheos notes, Muhammad is the model Muslim, the hadith allow contemporary believers to study his ways in an effort to learn how they can mimic his behaviors.
FIVE PILLARS OF THE ISLAMIC FAITH
When examining Islam, there are five pillars — or five core beliefs — that are generally embraced by believers. The first pillar is the profession of faith, called the “shahadah.” This belief contains two central components. According to Beliefnet it reads, ”There is no deity but Allah, and Mohammed is his messenger.” This is a phrase that some believers recite throughout the day to remind themselves of God’s importance.
Then, there’s “salah,” or “ritual worship.” Adherents pray five times per day (at dawn, midday, afternoon, evening and night). The third pillar is “zakah” or the giving of alms. Muslims are required to give a portion of their wealth — generally 2.5 percent — to help the poor.

Fasting (“sawn”), too, is one of the Islamic faith’s central tenets. During Ramadan, Beliefnet explains that Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, sexual activity and smoking from dawn to sunset. About.com has more about Ramadan:
Muslims are called upon to use this month to re-evaluate their lives in light of Islamic guidance. We are to make peace with those who have wronged us, strengthen ties with family and friends, do away with bad habits — essentially to clean up our lives, our thoughts, and our feelings. The Arabic word for “fasting” (sawm) literally means “to refrain” – and it means not only refraining from food and drink, but from evil actions, thoughts, and words.
During Ramadan, every part of the body must be restrained. The tongue must be restrained from backbiting and gossip. The eyes must restrain themselves from looking at unlawful things. The hand must not touch or take anything that does not belong to it. The ears must refrain from listening to idle talk or obscene words. The feet must refrain from going to sinful places. In such a way, every part of the body observes the fast.
The fifth and final pillar is the “hajj,” also known as the Pilgrimage to Mecca. If people have the ability and means, they are required to travel to the holy city at least one time during their lives.
Considering context, there are different methods of observing the Islamic faith. As a result, not every Muslim would potentially practice all of these ideals. However, the five pillars are among the most common Islamic practices.
JIHAD
In the post-9/11 world, “jihad” has become one of the most commonly-discussed sentiments associated with the Muslim faith. While some Americans may assume that the meaning of the word is entirely based upon the need for Muslims to use violence to spread their faith, reality paints a different picture. Beliefnet explains:
In Islam, struggle “in the path of God” or to “make God’s cause succeed” (Qur’an 9:40). In the Qur’an, jihad is connected with the imperative to command good and forbid evil (3:104, 110), especially with reference to the struggle of believers against persecution and idolatry.
Patheos adds to this definition, placing a focus on an internal battle that is associated with the word. On the web site’s online glossary, it defines “jihad” as follows: “An important theme in Islamic spirituality stressing the battling against one’s own inner negative tendencies.” However, the word has also come to be known as a tool and catalyst for war. Dictionary.com adds this description: “A holy war against infidels undertaken by Muslims in defense of the Islamic faith.”
The BBC attempts to summarize the three main meanings that jihad has for most Muslims (it is the third point that ends up, among more radical groups, being a problematic catalyst for international and domestic furor):
- A believer’s internal struggle to live out the Muslim faith as well as possible
- The struggle to build a good Muslim society
- Holy war: the struggle to defend Islam, with force if necessary
BBC also notes that it is not incorrect to associate this last point — the holy war factor — with jihad. The outlet continues, highlighting some of the debate surrounding how Muhammad allegedly framed the “greater” and the “lesser” jihad:
The Prophet is said to have called the internal Jihad the “greater Jihad”.
On his return from a battle, the Prophet said: “We are finished with the lesser jihad; now we are starting the greater jihad.” He explained to his followers that fighting against an outer enemy is the lesser jihad and fighting against one’s self is the greater jihad (holy war).
This quotation is regarded as unreliable by some scholars. They regard the use of jihad as meaning ‘holy war’ as the more important.
However the quotation has been very influential among some Muslims, particularly Sufis.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad supporters rally with banners depicting Morris Sadek during a protest in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, as part of widespread anger across the Muslim world about a film ridiculing Islam's Prophet Muhammad. The banners in Arabic read, "Death to Israel," "death to America" and, "anyone but God's Prophet." (Photo Credit: AP)
While jihad is certainly associated with Islam’s theology, it becomes problematic when radical groups take the commandment in a literal form and subsequently use it to launch attacks across the globe. While some believe that Islam breeds violence, others argue these violent groups often operate in a contradictory manner to what the Islamic faith would technically allow.
For instance, the BBC reports that, under Islamic regulations, war should only be conducted in self-defense, when other nations have waged an attack on a Muslim state or when another state is going after its own Muslim population. Also, there are apparent guidelines for how war should be carried out if, and when, it’s appropriate.
BBC claims it should be done “in a disciplined way.” Additionally, it should avoid injuring “non-combatants.” Also, attacks should be conducted with minimum force, without anger and with humane treatment towards captured peoples. Obviously, these sentiments fall on deaf ears when considering the al-Qaeda’s tactics, among other militant groups’ exploits.
Technically, the so called “lesser jihad” shouldn’t be used to convert others to the faith, to colonize other countries, to capture land for merely economic reasons or to showcase the extent of a leader’s power.
Jihad, contrary to popular belief, is not considered one of the faith system’s five pillars.
SALVATION, SIN & THE AFTERLIFE
For many Christians, salvation is something that is attained in the afterlife when an individual accepts Jesus Christ as both God’s son and the savior of mankind. In addition to accepting this belief, one would generally also need to live in accordance to Jesus’ words and Biblical tenets. In Islam, salvation takes on a bit of a different meaning.
Patheos points out that Muslims believe in the Day of Judgement, heaven and hell. These sentiments are also embraced by Christians. But the salvation portion is radically different. Muslims view Christ as one of the prophets — not the son of God. Adherents generally believe that heaven and hell is dependent upon the degree to which an individual acts in accordance to God’s desires and will (mainly, whether a person treated others with justice and mercy).
If a person lives in accordance to the revelations that came through the Islamic prophets, then he or she will likely enter heaven; if not, then hell (a place called “Jahannam”) may be a more fitting reality for this individual (however, some people who do evil can still, according to Patheos, potentially make their way into heaven).

Unlike Christians, who have Jesus as an intercessor, Muslims tackle sin in a very different way. In Islam, people are viewed as being born without sin. This is to say that they are holy and pure and, as they develop and experience life, that’s when the opportunity to make mistakes presents itself. While Christians embrace the notion of Adam’s original sin being passed on to future generations, in Islam, mankind’s first sin wasn’t contagious. Patheos has more:
Islam does not teach that humans need intercession, although some traditions have allowed that Muhammad might intercede with God on humanity’s behalf. No one can know God, but at the same time, no one stands between the individual Muslim and God. If individuals find that they have sinned, they may sincerely apologize, and through remorse, receive forgiveness. The slate is clean, and they may begin again. This will likely happen many times in a life, because humans are not perfect. But on the Last Day [of Judgement], there are no excuses. God has sent many prophets to remind humans of their duty and to wake them up when they forget their dependence on God. As a result, the punishment on the Last Day is just.
So, the most radical differences between the Christian and the Islamic faiths is the method through which salvation is attained and the obvious fact that Jesus, in Islamic text and theology, is merely a prophet and not the son of God.
CONCLUSION
Studying Islam isn’t a simple task, particularly in today’s world, where the faith is so intimately attached to emotionally-charged political events. Perhaps the most important element to remember is that, like any faith, there are a multitude of interpretations associated with Islam. Context, specifically culture and geographic location, plays a key role in shaping how Muslims practice, observe and view their faith.
Unfortunately, there are a plethora of radicalized sects who take the “lesser jihad” to mean that they must murder, pillage and use destruction to force conversions and to destroy seemingly negative influences — particularly the West and Israel. Because of this dynamic, Islam has become a political tool and, in many cases, a distrusted religious entity.
But, as we will continue to explore, the complicated nature of the situation requires a fair and balanced look at the religion’s central tenets and of the many groups that comprise it.

This is wrong. You don’t have to DO anything for salvation. It is a GIFT from God if you accept Jesus as your savior. Of course genuine Christians do try to follow Him because we love Him. We always come up short. Thank God for grace.

Um, this is wrong. We do not inherit sin, you are responsible for your own. Ezekiel 18:20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.
As far as doing nothing for salvation, you have to believe don’t you? Well that’s an action on your part. But it’s not an action you came up with, God told us in His inspired word that we must believe. He also commanded us that we should repent (Luke 13:3). We are also commanded to confess (Rom. 10:9-10; Matt. 10:32-33) and be baptized in order for our sins to be forgiven. These aren’t my words, these come straight from God’s word. Acts 2:38, Mark 16:16, Acts 22:16, Rom. 6:3-5 So if you don’t obey God’s commands you are disobedient.
As far as eternal security we don’t have that either. God gave us free will in that we can choose to reject it after we’ve become a child of God. Judas is a good example. He was able to cast out demons like the rest when they were given the ability so if he were of Satan’s then how could he cast out demons in the name of Beelzebub? Judas chose to do wrong as other chose to leave (1 Tim. 1:19-20) “Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” <- that is a command we are told to do.

@SCAREBEAR83
Not entirely. We are sinful because Adam and Eve sinned first, thus everyone after them will be born into sin.
Doing nothing is the wrong wording. More like you don’t have to do things such as help the sick or be a “good” person, etc.
We do have eternal security from everything OUTSIDE ourselves. Like, no one or anything can make you become unsaved. Yes, you can reject it yourself.

Absolutely right. Catholicism may pay heed to the idea of inherited sin (especially with its baptism of children to forgiven Original Sin), but that’s strictly Catholicism. Christianity in general says humans are born free from sin.

Very nice families that worked hard and took good care of their children like any other family. I told her that my Bible is Holy to me and her Koran is Holy to her. We left it at that and stayed friends. After all, it’s America : )

That’s actually incorrect.
The Catholic belief that baptizing infants is not the same as believing we are born into sin (a basic Christian doctrine). The baptizing of babies is not a Biblical belief because every person must choose for themselves; a personal choice 1, and 2, baptism doesn’t make you saved.
I think you and Bear are confusing being born into sin like the Bible said due to Adam, and being held accountable for specific sins that are done by your family. Like in OT times if your father committed a sin it would pass on to you. That’s different than all humans are born sinful since the fall.

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 4:04pmYou are absolutely right on this. However, some Christians believe that works is a “side-effect” of salvation, or, in effect, evidence of it. I would agree with that, but it is DEFINITELY not dependent upon works. It is ONLY God’s grace that save us, as we are hopelessly fallen without him.

I disagree. Ezekiel 18:20 makes it plain as day that we are responsible only for our own sins. If the Old Testament is a lie… well, that’s your own argument! But I see no incongruity between the Old and New Testaments! No, we are born free from sin (otherwise, every Christian pro-life agreement falls flat, right?), but need to hear and adhere to Christ during our mortal lives. I challenge you, as a Catholic, to disagree :-)

It is a fact that the Catholic Church does not teach the difference between “sin” (the sinful nature we inherited from Adam), and “sins,” the acts against God’s commandments we commit because of our sinful nature. It is explained in almost every book of the NT. :)
Gotta go, but if you wish to debate the topic, I’ll expound later.

EZK actually supports what I said. Since it’s speaking of inheriting sins from the father. I never said the OT was a lie, I’m saying that’s how it USED be. No, no pro-life argument would fail. Murder is still wrong.
The Bible is very clear on this issue— that we are all born with a sin nature. I’m not trying to imply we are accountable for others sins, but simply we as humans since Adam our born with a sin nature.
Here are verses that speak to what I was saying.
Psalm 51:5
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Romans 5:12-14
Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned— for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.
PS. Not sure if you are implying I’m Catholic or you are Catholic, I’m not though. If you weren’t my apologies. I’m a Christian. Not that denomination matters, but if you wanted to know I”m Southern Baptist.

Christianity and Islam are both very complex. Too many muslims are full of hate. As christians, it is even more important that we stand tall while remaining tolerant and merciful. I have gotten along just fine with most muslims in my sphere of influence. There are tards in every culture, religion, gender, and nationality. We cannot force anyone to live how we want without committing an equal or larger sin.

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 6:02pmScarebear83, you’re missing some important points. For example, we are born in sin and have a sinful nature. And your point about believing being an act that we do is also incorrect. The Bible clearly teaches that faith is a gift from God. We can do NOTHING to receive salvation. He gives us the faith to believe. If we could do anything at all to affect our salvation then it would not be a gift. And we are eternally secure as believers because no one can take us out of the Father’s hand. If we or anyone else had that power it would mean we are more powerful than God. I John says that people who leave the faith were never really in the faith in the first place. That’s a warning to us to examine ourselves to make sure we are genuine in our faith.

It is and always has been about what Jesus did on the cross for all of us. You can chose to reject it or you can chose to accept it. Allowing God to work through you continues His work in your life beyond salvation. So God and only God saves you and God works through you. There’s nothing your body can do but sin. So trust in God ;)

“It is a fact that the Catholic Church does not teach the difference between “sin” (the sinful nature we inherited from Adam), and “sins,” the acts against God’s commandments we commit because of our sinful nature. It is explained in almost every book of the NT. :)”
I’m not a Catholic, so if you want to defend your theology, more power to you! I don’t think it’s based on the Bible, but I invite you to debate that :-)
@Black
“EZK actually supports what I said. Since it’s speaking of inheriting sins from the father. I never said the OT was a lie, I‘m saying that’s how it USED be. No, no pro-life argument would fail. Murder is still wrong.
The Bible is very clear on this issue— that we are all born with a sin nature. I’m not trying to imply we are accountable for others sins, but simply we as humans since Adam our born with a sin nature.”
I agree we are born in a sinful world, but I disagree with the (as it has always been presented to me) Catholic notion that we require a childhood baptism to forgive us from Original Sin. If I am misrepresenting your faith as a Catholic, I apologize… I have always been told that as soon as a child is born, they are guilty of sin. Only infant baptism cleanses them of this Original Sin. If I have been told incorrectly, please, let me know! I will be sure to tell several Catholic friends that they have been taught a false doctrine :-)

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 6:35pm@ Black: Your comment – “The Catholic belief that baptizing infants is not the same as believing we are born into sin (a basic Christian doctrine). The baptizing of babies is not a Biblical belief because every person must choose for themselves; a personal choice 1, and 2, baptism doesn’t make you saved.” – Baptism is a grace from God, not something we do for God. Grace does not depend on our intellectual achievements any more than it depends on any other human achievement. This is one of the many ironies inherent in opposition to the ancient Christian practice of infant baptism. To refuse baptism to a baby on the grounds that “the child isn’t able to understand what is happening” is to presume that God gives grace only to those who are smart or old enough to figure out how to get it. This is an implicit assumption of salvation by intellectual works specifically condemned by Scripture and Catholic teaching. An entire household (not just adults) was baptized in Acts Chapter 10. Also, in a later post to Locked, you implied that being Catholic is not the same as being Christian. That is not the case- Catholics are Christians, just as Baptists are Christians.

I agree 100% with you to on that. The Bible does not say anywhere we require child hood baptism. I guess we actually agree but are misunderstanding eachother.
Well, like I said I’m Not Catholic, so it’s ok =]
@SUGABEE
Baptism (the act of going underwater, not actually being saved) is not required. I never meant that, what I meant is a baby cannot make the personal choice to become a Christian. So it is silly and pointless to baptize a baby under the assumption that by doing so you are “saving” the baby. Nowhere in the Bible is infant baptism supported or taught. Babies already go to heaven because they are not able to make that choice. God knows when someone is able to make a choice to be saved and knows those who cannot. Yes, it has to be a choice from your own person, not someone else s.
Wasn’t trying to imply all Catholics aren’t Christian.

There is more to it than that. Not that any works or what you do saves you, but as the Bible says “faith without works is dead.” So, it actually requires you to take full responsibility for your actions, a very Biblical idea. In the NT Jesus brought this to a new level when he told everyone that the act of murder isn’t just a sin, but hating someone is just like that of murdering someone. Thus, getting to the core of it all—your heart and mind.

The Holydays of the almighty creator God is the plan, laid out for mankind, of WHY WE ARE HERE.
The blowing of the trumpets looks forward to that NEXT event in God’s redemptive Plan — when Christ shall COME again, in clouds, with a SHOUT, with the voice of the archangel, and with the TRUMP OF GOD (1 Thessalonians 4:14-17).
It shall be “at the LAST TRUMP, for the TRUMPET SHALL SOUND, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” – 1 Corinthians 15:52.
Notice exactly WHEN:
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great TRUMPET shall be blown, and they [Israel] shall come which were ready to perish . . . and shall worship the Eternal in the holy mount at Jerusalem.” – Isaiah 27:13

Muhammad was a liar who simply took well know truths from Christianity and Judaism, claimed he received some special vision from God which really was a Satanic delusion and then twisted it into his warped lie which created a following after him in which this animal went on war conquests to slay everyone into his submission. Thank God for the Crusades because if it weren’t for those brave Europeans that stood against the Muhammadan barbarian hordes we would all probably be worshipping Satan’s death cult right now. This Religion is nothing more than a direct threat and attack on our lives and should be banned in this country. We have Freedom of Religion but only when a religion doesn’t violate the law and people’s rights. If a Religion were to call for child sacrifice that would be banned obviously, but yet when Islam calls for the murder of unbelievers which is a direct threat to our lives we are supposed to stand to fight for it’s freedom and prosperity in this country? I don’t think so, it is a contradiction and both can’t exist. You either stand for Islam or your own rights, choose one. If it is for your rights then Islam should be banned and everything should be done to hinder it’s progress in this country even if it means force and hostility. Islam IS a war against America!

May I respectfully suggest that you do a little more research, starting perhaps with the Sahih Bukhari and the Koran itself.
It is hard work, and confusing from time to time, but it is well worth the effort. Having done so, it is easy to spot those who are gently twisting the words to acheive the message that they desire.

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 8:44pmThe article says the difference between Christianity and Islam is in salvation. True, Islam says you need works to attain salvation and Christianity says it is a gift – you cannot earn it thru works. The Koran also says that one attains instant salvation by dying while fighting for Allah. However, the biggest difference between the two is in how the religion is spread. Jesus said to go thruout the world and TELL others of the gospel or good news about God’s free gift of salvation to those who believe in Jesus, and thru Him, God. Islam says to recruit converts by threats of death if they do not convert. Or, they can keep their religion (Christianity?), but they must pay a huge tax to Muslims and then live as second class citizens. This is in the Koran. We MUST get the correct information about Islam, or we may find we will be learning it by living it after they take us over and institute the Caliphate and Sharia law. Robert Morey’s ISLAMIC INVASION is an easy-to-read book with lots of true information. A GOD WHO HATES by Wafa Sultan and THE BLOOD OF LAMBS by Kalil Shaleem are two others that tell more.

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 9:30pmS-Bear….time for some remedial scripture work for you. Re-read Genesis. Concupiscence was past on from Adam and Eve. We lost direct communion with God. We lost the paradise of Eden. Woman would know the pain of child birth. Man would toil all his days to survive. Concupiscience is the tendency to sin. This is why we needed a Savior, to be the one, perfect, everlasting sacrifice sufficient to blot out all mankinds sins forever.
No we don’t bear the sins of our fathers, but we do inherit Adam & Eve’s tendency to be drawn to the worldly instead of the heavenly.

The point is faith. Sure, confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as Savior and relying on him alone is doing something. However, it’s not works or some sort of act of kindness.
No, commandments are not arbitrary. Things that are wrong and called sins are not because God says so, but God says so because they are wrong.
In the NT it tells us that that “There are things about him that people cannot see—his eternal power and all the things that make him God. But since the beginning of the world those things have been easy to understand by what God has made. So people have no excuse for the bad things they do.”
Meaning he has revealed himself in his creation. Not only that but he has put in everyone a desire to know why we exist, to find out where we came from. Not everyone will find God, but the longing is there in hope they will turn towards him. Not to mention Christian’s purpose is to spread the word and share it with others so they may have the opportunity to become saved.

When you are born you are born with SIN. For all have sinned and come short of the GLORY OF GOD. Until you recognize that you are sinner you cannot be saved. FAITH, For by GRACE are you saved through FAITH and that not of yourselves, not of works less any man should boast. Islam, and other religions think you have to work to be saved. This is incorrect. It does not matter what I say or think. It is in BIBLE it is what GOD SAYS that matters NOTHING ELSE.
Like that great childrens’ song..THE BIBLE SAYS IT..THAT SETTLES IT…SIMPLE AS THAT.

Greater than the God of Abraham and Issac is the answer as Islam is the revenge of Ishmael, the 1st son of Abraham.

Obviously that’s an incorrect representation. So what? Everybody understands that.
Jesus was physically described in at least one of the gnostic gospels, which were dropped at the Council of Nicea. (It will take me ages to find it, so I won’t bother.)
Jesus is a historical figure. His various teachings are repeated often enough in the gospels, both biblical and gnostic, to lend more than enough credibility to the religion as a whole, and to himself.

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 11:26pmHOW ever GOD came about, one day maybe we’ll know. We are not GOD. We are Created by GOD. God Created us and gave us free will. Satan was in GOD’s army of angels. Satan wanted to be GOD. He was kicked out of Heaven (Pride) and roams the earth. Satan is the opposite of GOOD (GOD) therefore is EVIL. Satan’s evil permeates the earth. Adam and Eve were earthly people, created from dust and rib and also contained evil. Everyone born since them has had evil. One special person was created to be the Mother of the Earth Version of GOD: Jesus. Her name was MARY. She was without Sin; Jesus was without Sin. Jesus lived and walked among us. He taught us so much about GOD, the future and the way to live the best life: SERMON ON THE MOUNT in Matthew for example. Jesus named Peter to be the Head of His Church. Peter became the first POPE and he and other disciples wrote the Bible’s New Testament. The Old Testament was written over thousands of years by the Jews (as the 12 Tribes of Juda were called) Therefore the Catholics wrote the New Testament; the Church has always kept records. They passed the books/verses down from generation to generation. When the printing press came about (hundreds of years after Jesus) Catholics printed it. One of the reasons I love the Catholic faith is that the same “breaking of the bread” has been said 2000 years. There is no better learning than learning about Christ. ISLAM is from Satan.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 12:19amdaver18- If we are born into sin then why did Jesus say in Matthew 18:3… “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me. -We are born into a sinful world yes, but one is not born into sin for that would indicate that children (who do not understand thus cannot be held accountable) will also be in torment. Jesus states that we are to be like little children for they are safe. *Salvation* is a gift from God, not faith (Rom. 6:23). What if I gave you a wrapped birthday gift and you didn’t do anything to deserve it, it’s a free gift (technically it’s not free cause it was paid for, you get the gist). You still have to reach your arms out to accept it, you still have to unwrap it right? That’s your part. As for being eternally secure, Revelation says otherwise: 2:5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. -Revelation chps 2-3 discuss the churches and what they are commanded to do, the church at Ephesus was commanded to repent, what do you think would happen if they didn’t? And they were the elect, member’s of the Lord’s church!

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 12:49amThere has been a battle raging in heaven since before this earth age, since the overthrow. This battle is fought between the Creator and the Destroyer. The parts of this battle we are familiar with are small, and nearly insignificant. The part we play in this battle are what we make of it. The Lord assumed flesh(in the person of Christ) to prove to satan that the creator has power over death. Christians are supposed to learn this. There is a method, and practice that will give man knowledge and the wisdom to apply that knowledge. It is contained in the bible. That IS the faith of the saints, and it is NOT simplistic, nor is it FREE. To receive this GIFT, the believer must become a Disciple. Must be disciplined in the ways of Christ. This not an easy thing to do. To “believe” in Christ is to JOIN Him. To know that the WILL of God, for all time, is manifest. To go to one’s DEATH as Jesus did, in full confidence of immortality. Satan wants to disprove these truths….and that is what the battle is all about. Life vs. death.
Most of the people on the planet are merely cannon fodder in this war. Believers of death. Fearing the very air they breathe, and BELIEVING in the primacy of death…SATAN. He is a liar. Jesus Christ proved it. So can you, if you believe. And discipline your unruly mind.

Would a perfectly just god reward someone that only said one prayer and condemn another man that had spent his life in service to his fellow man because he did not say the one magic prayer? God is perfect which also means perfectly just. Why would he create the world which is governed by his laws and then create a doctrine which is contrary to all of them? The idea is the equivalent to a secret password to get into heaven. Jesus Christ lived his life as an example for us to follow. If he had not then his life would have been a complete waste. How do you follow Christ and yet have no actions that are Christlike? He was the perfect example that we are not supposed to follow? Sounds like someone has itching ears. Christianity is a verb. Her name was MARY. She was without Sin;
———
Where does it say in the Bible that Mary was without sin? Do you realize that saying that makes her equal to Jesus, who IS God?
One day when Jesus was preaching, a woman in the crowd tried to exalt Mary:
==> While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you and the breasts at which you nursed.”
That would have been the perfect opportunity for Jesus to give humankind the great revelation that Mary must be treated like a unique, sinless human being. Instead Jesus said this:
==> But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.” (Luke 11: 17-28).
If Mary was not born in sin, she did not need a Savior. In fact, she would still be living and would never have aged or gotten sick, because sickness, disease and death are the consequences of sin.
Paul is emphatic about this truth :
==> …for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks [gentiles] are ALL under sin; as it is written, “There is none righteous, NOT EVEN ONE (Rom. 3:10) [emphasis added]
He also declares quite passionately:
==> …let God be found true, though every man be found a liar…(vs. 4).
I, for one, am not going to call God a liar.

—-
Let’s do away with labels. You won’t feel the need to be born again, if you don’t believe you are born in sin. If sin were not inherent, it would have to be a learned behavior. Thus, all you would have to do to get rid of it would be to unlearn the behavior, or never learn it, or go to confession or get baptized or go to church or be remorseful, or do a kind act — any of the myriad ways man devises to cover his guilt and “feel” righteous. But Adam’s spirit “surely died” the moment he sinned, and his children were conceived by a man who was separated from God. And in like manner, so was every other man.
Enter Jesus. Why did He have to die? Because only the blood of a sin-less man could cleanse us from sin. I know it sounds gory, but since life is in the blood and the price of sin is death, then we had to be redeemed through (sinless) blood. When you accept Jesus’ vicarious death, He gives you his righteousness, and the Holy Spirit gives you new life (i.e., you are born again spiritually), so that once again you can live in fellowship with God. Best deal ever.

I believe we are entitled (have free will) to break any covenant, including the New Covenant. That said, it is very rare for that to happen. The conditions are stipulated in Hebrews 6:4-8 and Hebrews 10:26-31.
==>For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth….who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
Clearly this is a believer who once experienced God deeply, but afterwards becomes an adversary and hater of God. It is akin to the devil’s case, except that the devil was created, not born of the Spirit like we are. So again, it does happen but is very rare. If you are truly born again you don’t enjoy sinning.

“THEREFORE whoever HUMBLES HIMSELF like a child…” We grown-ups tend to be arrogant and self-sufficient, and scoff at childlike faith.
It’s not like God is the one who decides whether we are born in sin or not. Adam made that choice for us. He messed up and we are all paying the consequences. However, God is just. He does not hold someone who cannot discern between good and evil accountable. They get a waiver, so to speak. As BLACK pointed out, only God knows when/if that happens in any given person.
Say, SCAREBEAR, did you teach your children to lie, or did you have to teach them NOT to lie? Socialization is a civilized society’s way of coping with inherent sin, the caveat being that if we don’t socialize in sync with God’s commandments, the result is a bad apple or, on a grand scale, a barbaric society; case in point, the Muslim world.

How about some REAL historical context, like what was going on in Mecca at the time? What do we know about his family? How about the politics of the region? How about what we know about relationships between the different religious groups?
You wanna help people get closer to the truth? Give them reliable historical context, without your take on what Muhammad was “feeling” he should do.
Can’t give us any historical details concerning this person, and yet you know what he was “feeling.” Right.

My personal favorite is the politically incorrect guide to islam and the crusades. I think Robert Spencer wrote it
Basically, what I mean is this topic can’t be covered by one article. It takes much more, and for some, classes are required. There’s so much to digest, laws, sunnahs, tennets, a biography of Mohammed’s military campaigns, vocabulary, maybe a little bit of arabic language.
I’m not a muslim sympathizer, I just believe in collecting as much knowledge as possible will be NECESSARY for you, and for you to EDUCATE your neighbors and friends.

Romans 5:17; For if by the trespass of the one [man] death ruled as king through that one, much more will those who receive the abundance of the undeserved kindness and of the free gift of righteousness rule as kings in life through the one [person], Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:19; For just as through the disobedience of the one man many were constituted sinners, likewise also through the obedience of the one [person] many will be constituted righteous.
Reading the Bible clears up many misunderstandings.

It is fascinating to see Christians argue details of doctrine, yet continue to view all Muslims as adhering to the same practices as each other!
As soon as we recognize that the Muslim faiths have much in common with many Christian faiths, we may be able to focus on the real problem; hatred.

Most of the Bible is very clear and can’t be argued, however there are many with their own agenda who purposefully and knowingly say it says one thing in order to have power and control. There are others who honestly don’t understand some things or were never taught how to properly view verses. Then you have some who refuse to be objective because they want it to say something it really doesn’t. Very easy thing to fall into.
There is really nothing that Islam and Christianity have in common, at least nothing other than minor commonalties that most religions share such as worshiping a deity, heaven/hell.
Islam is a violent religion, and is more of a political ideology than religious practice. It seeks to control and spread its message through violence if you are not willing to accept it. They believe in freedom….freedom to worship allah only or else. There is a progression in the Korean from the peaceful verses to the violent ones; peaceful stages to the violent stages, and in order to truly follow its teachings you must reach the stages of violence.
Christianity on the other hand does not practice hate or forcing people to follow it. It is about offering the gift of salvation for you to accept in a loving Christ like manner.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 2:41pmHI: Too bad everything is lost in the sound and furry of the babble … everyone seems to be going everywhere in the Bible but the right place. Well it’s not their fault … or is it? Satan uses scripture and uses it well in order to mislead people. If you are a **** off on the correct salvation for this dispensation you are a million miles off on everything else in the Bible. This age of Grace requires nothing but an admission of our unrighteousness and the filthy state of all our righteousnesses; that we can do nothing but fall on the grace of God and let him cleanse our sins away; adding nothing, subtracting nothing; that only and that alone saves us: not baptism, works or sacrifices; that alone saves us for eternity, there is nothing more for us to do; we don’t have to work to keep salvation; God keeps us.
Islam is a damnable heresy which makes claims to the Bible if only to seek some legitimacy. What all the sound and furry coming from the Muslim hoards tells us is that they are insecure and lack salvation. For if salvation was made sure to them they could rest in their faith; but it is not sure so they are a seething mass looking but not finding because they are deluded and blinded. Satan does not want then to learn the truth so he fills them with the works of unrighteousness and the false hope that such works will get them to heaven. Such as he does with all the lost and deluded so called Christians.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 3:43pm@ Kryptonite – exactly, kids are not held responsible because they can’t understand. It’s only until they reach the age of accountability when they know right from wrong are they held accountable. Question is, why baptize an infant if they do not understand? Baptism is ONLY for those who understand. We do not inherit Adam’s sin, we commit our own. Yes through Adam’s sin death entered the world but we are not held accountable for his sins because each one of us will give an account for the things we have done, not somebody else.
@Black 9897- The reason they are safe is because they can’t understand, not that they can’t make a choice. Try telling an infant the laws of quantum mechanics, sure they may be able to understand a little if you simplify it enough but they’re not going to be able to understand and appreciate the full concept until they are more mature.
@ 4XGrace- James 2:14-26 states otherwise, especially verse 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. Now this does not mean a person is justified in doing whatever his heart desires and he thinks he’s saved. The faith here is one that works, one that does as God commands ie verse 21 that states Abraham offered Issac. Abraham did so because he was commanded to AND because he had faith in God. God commands us to believe, repent, confess and be baptized and by doing so we are doing it by faith. What would happen if you didn’t do as God commanded?

Right, and in order to make a choice about salvation you must understand what you are doing, at least to a small degree. Of course we mature in our faith and come to understand it better.
I think you, KRYPT and I are saying the same things, just not understanding each other. We are talking about the sin nature that came in to the world when Adam sinned. Not any specific acts he committed. Neither one of us believes in baptizing babies, and as you just stated it doesn’t seem as if you think that’s Biblical either.

No. He will come as Judge and those who refuse Him will suffer for all time. How can you wish that on anyone, even the darkest of souls? Please hear Jesus’ pleas to fast and pray for all those whom are not within His Spirit yet! Pray to be humble as a child, eager to please and loving to all, even to those who wish you harm! Posted on September 17, 2012 at 11:06pm@ BLACK…I agree with your defense of the biblical doctrine of Original sin. LOCKED is essentially arguing for Pelagianism from the 5th century AD. I would site the following scriptures that clearly support our position as well as the earliest church fathers.
Ephesians 2:3 “ALL of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by NATURE deserving of wrath.”
Romans 3:10 As it is written: “There is NO ONE righteous, not even one;11 there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.12 ALL have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”
Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to ALL people, because all sinned.”
Pelagius (and semi-pelaginism) has been condemned by many councils throughout church history including the following:

Council of Ephesus (431)
The Council of Orange (529)

Posted on September 18, 2012 at 12:44amHI: I can appreciate the fact you are trying to emphasize that no one can “earn” their way to heaven, but people do in fact, “do” something to enter into an eternal relationship with God. When Peter was preaching on the day of Pentecost the hearers were convicted, literally pierced or pained in their heart and replied, “men and brethren what shall we do?” Peter didn’t say, “Oh you don’t have to DO anything”, rather he said simply “repent and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38
There is a false teaching out today that says God has done everything to the point that Christians no longer need to confess their sins once they’re saved….a particular false teacher calls this “radical grace”. I don’t think you were saying that at all, but I just wanted to inject that thought. Hope it helps.

@Black What I’m stating is that everyone is responsible for their own sins. It isn’t in one’s nature to sin, they sin because they decide to so. By nature we are not sinful creatures because if that were true then Christ who descended from Adam would be just as corrupt and we know that’s not true.

They have to distance themselves from the radical elements in their faith or their entire religion will be tarnished by the actions of these radicals. Christians ex-communicate those who pervert the tenants of their faith, and thereby keep the main body of their believers free from the taint that continued association with those radicals brings about. Muslims have to address this issue. They need to isolate and rid themselves of these radicals, I don’t know if Muslims have something similar to excommunication in their faith, if so they should begin to use it and cleanse their religion from those who pervert it.

Posted on September 18, 2012 at 12:06pmI wonder if anybody takes time to contemplate what God says in Genesis 1: 3 ????
“YOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME.”
The Lord burned the 10 Commandments into a flat stone when Moses met with Him on top of Mount
Sinai.
Question: If you are bowing down to “your” God/god each day, are you sure you aren’t bowing to a god that God says; NOT to bow down?
There is only “ONE” GOD the Scriptures infer to in the word of God (the holy Scriptures)
Muslims bow down to Allah. Now, I know that the word “Allah” is refered to Jesus Christ in the Hebrew language, but then again, how many Muslim people do you know or hear about with the name
Mohammad?
Are YOU worshipping the God of the bible, The Lord Jesus Christ? Or are you bowing down to a false god who Jesus will one day judge at the Great White Throne Judgment?
Jesus says in John 14: 6 “I” am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
Now, this verse makes it very plain Jane to anybody who wants to know the “real” truth about which God to believe in.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
So, WHICH GOD ARE YOU GIVING YOURSELF TO? A FALSE god OR THE TRUE GOD OF THE BIBLE….THE LORD JESUS CHRIST?

——–
No, I’ve debated this topic before. Jesus was conceived entirely by the Holy Spirit, in Mary’s womb. If it had been Mary’s egg it would have happened in the fallopian tube. Mary was a surrogate mother, and Jesus is called the Second Adam (man) precisely for that reason. (1 Cor. 15:47). He was begotten of God the Holy Spirit inside a virgin’s womb.
You contend that man is not born in sin but chooses to sin. If that were true, then surely SOME men/women would choose not to sin. But the Bible says that we are all sinners, so even if we apply your definition of “sinners” we have ALL chosen to sin. That defies statistical probability. Since 100% of humankind sins, then it must be in our nature.
@BLACK
I understood what you said and I agree with you on the fundamentals. I used to believe “once saved always saved,” but after carefully studying the Word I changed my mind. I have seen it happen in real life too, e.g., godly ministers who fall into adultery, their marriage breaks up, the church is destroyed, but the man never repents. That guy won’t get to heaven. Posted on September 19, 2012 at 3:01pm@ Black and Krypt: Luke 3:23-28 states the genealogy of Christ. If we are “by nature” sinners then 1) Christ is at least half depraved because His genealogy includes Adam and all other humans. 2) If it is by nature then as like the homosexual argument, we cannot be held responsible for something that is in our nature to do. But God said all will be judged according to their works. You will be judged by your works and yours alone as will I. All have sinned because ALL get carried away by it not because it’s in our nature.
Here’s an excerpt that I think gets the idea across. If we are “by nature” sinners then what about children?- “Jesus Himself said: “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God” (Mark 10:14, emp. added). Paul declared that none who are unclean can enter into the kingdom of heaven (Ephesians 5:5). Jesus added: “[U]nless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3, emp. added). If children come to the world with a “fallen human nature and tainted by original sin” (to use the words of the Catechism), why would men have to become as little children, who are also “contaminated” with sin? The Bible is clear: sin is not inherited. No baby has ever been born bearing the guilt of Adam’s sin. No one bears the responsibility for Adam’s sin but Adam himself.” http://www.apologeticspress.org/apcontent.aspx?category=105&artic

Was that reply to me or SCAREBEAR?? I agree with everything you just said. My disagreement with Baptists is in re “once saved always saved,” which someone else brought up.
@SCAREBEAR
How can someone debate you if you never counter our rebuttals to your arguments? All you do is repeat the same argument over and over again. I already said children are not accountable until they can discern between good and evil. Since they are not LEGALLY responsible, Jesus serves as High Priest and Intercessor on their behalf.
As for Jesus’ genealogy, it is “according to the flesh,” i.e., the natural records. We know that in reality He “came forth from God and went back to God” (John 13:3b). He met the prophetic standards according to the flesh, but spiritually He is begotten of God and God alone.
This is the 21st century. Science has advanced to the point where women can now carry babies they did not make. So why is it so hard for you to understand that God did just that? Jesus was conceived by the HOLY SPIRIT, period — no human intervention except for the food, oxygen and protection Mary provided for Him in the womb.

You do understand that is not his biological genealogy right? He did not come from sperm and egg. It was the Holy Spirit who came upon Mary and she was with child.
Me and KRYPT are not talking about being held accountable for someone sins, but simply we are born with the natural urge to sin, meaning it comes naturally to us and we must be taught to NOT sin. That’s all we are trying to get through, Not that I’m held accountable for what my dad does, or for my friend bob who had an immoral thought.
Jesus was referring to them being humble like children. And remember as I stated before, there is a point at which a child is held accountable. When?? Only God knows that.
Remember in GEN when after they had sinned God told them that from now on he would have to work the ground? Same thing we have to do today. He told Eve childbearing would be painful, just like it is today. He told them they would die. Guess what…we all die.

Posted on September 19, 2012 at 11:16pmThe point I’m trying to get across is that you and Black seem to state that “by nature” we are sinners. Yes because of Adam death entered the world. But in a state of weakness we all are carried away by sin, we choose it, not because it’s in our nature to do so. As I have said, were that the case we couldn’t be held accountable for something we can’t help. We can help it, we can choose to do the right thing. As for Christ, I’m not arguing that He wasn’t conceived by miraculous means, we agree there. The point is He is still considered as having come from the lineage of Adam meaning if “original sin” or because of Adam we are all “by nature” sinners are true then you have a problem. Because Christ would also have that problem regardless if He was miraculously conceived or not. The Bible states in Ecclesiastes 7:29 Truly, this only I have found: That God made man upright, But they have sought out many schemes. -We are not “by nature” sinful creatures.

Lol, you’re splitting hairs. What is that “state of weakness” we all experience called?
If your dad was born blind and you are born blind, that’s just how it is. We are not held accountable for our sinful nature. Satan and his fallen angels were damned for their iniquity. Adam was deceived, and that’s why we get a Savior. Nevertheless, we are all born blind, so to speak.
In Rom 1, starting from vs. 18, you find that B.C. God did not condemn humankind for being “weak” (sinful), but for not listening to their conscience and fearing/glorifying Him (vs. 21). Job is an example of a man who was counted as righteous. Notice that Job covered for his sins according to what God had taught Adam: “Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all.” (Job 1:5b)
Those under the law were judged by the law (Rom. 3:19-20), but the law only points to our inability to keep from sinning. Thus the High Priest had to cover for the people’s sin in faith that God would not impute sin (Rom. 4:5-8).

After Jesus died on the cross, we can be free from the condemnation/death that resulted from sin (Rom. 5:16b, 18). NOW we can choose not to sin because Jesus makes us righteous/justifies us (Rom 4:3; Gal. 2:16)), and God can give us a new nature/spirit. Our old nature is buried through water baptism (Rom. 6:4-14). The Holy Spirit comes to indwell in our spirit, and we can now overcome our body of sin/be transformed to the image of Christ. That process is called sanctification. Once you are born again, God expects you to sin less and less, because your new nature now hates sin and is able to overcome it.
=> “He is still considered as having come from the lineage of Adam”
—
Only for the sake of chronology, because the OT and NT genealogies must match. However, Jesus wasn’t really Mary’s biological son. He never even called her “mother.” OTHER people referred to Mary as his mother, so I don’t buy the Catholic explanation that it was the cultural way to address one’s mom. However, Jesus does use the word “Father,” but only to address God, even at age 12.

Posted on September 20, 2012 at 5:58pmI think everything has gotten garbled up and upon discussion with others I may have mispoke and I apologize for that. Yes we are by nature sinners, BUT we are not totally depraved in that we can’t help it nor did we inherit Adam’s sins. We are sinners because we often choose the easy way out instead of doing what’s right. As for choosing not to sin because of Jesus well, I’d have to say that’s not true considering Abraham and Job and others chose to do what was right before Jesus came to this earth. But that’s not to say we don’t need a Savior.
As for saying Jesus wasn’t really Mary’s biological Son, where do you get that idea? The Bible states several times that Mary was His mother. We may not read of Him calling her mother but that does not escape the idea that she is called His mother in the Bible which is God’s inspired word (Matt. 1:18; 2:11,13;Luke 1:15; 2:48; John 19:25)
I’ll have to tackle the rest later as I am out of time at the moment.

As for choosing not to sin because of Jesus well, I‘d have to say that’s not true considering Abraham and Job
——-
You’re right. That was poorly worded. I meant not to practice sin. We all sin, but we can now refrain from practicing sin (cp. I John 1: 8-9 and 1 John 3:9). In other words, sanctification was not possible before Jesus. If you are born again, you must be aware of the difference, both because you are a new creature and because the Holy Spirit now dwells in you, and neither of those things were possible before Jesus.
When told that his mother and brothers were outside looking for Him, Jesus responded, “Who is my mother, or my brothers?” … For whoever does the will of God is my brother and my sister.” (Mark (Mark 3:33-35). When He was DYING on the cross, Jeus addressed Mary as “woman.” One would think that is the moment of greatest intimacy between a man and his parents (besides birth when one cannot speak). Jesus had ample opportunity to call Mary “Mother,” but He never did. The narrative use of “mother” is acceptable, because she did give birth to Him.
I did say something wrong and later realized it. Adam was not deceived; Eve was.

Yes. This is what we were talking about. I would agree also we can choose to sin or not to sin. Although, we all sin and choose to everyday. We just have to keep dyeing to self everyday like the Bible says.
Well, understanding how children are made and how Jesus came about. I can say with 100% certainty he was not her biological child. The Holy Spirit caused her to become pregnant, thus he didn’t come from her or any man. So yes, she was his “mother” as in she gave birth and raised him, but not biologically.

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 1:32pmVery simple; adding to God’s word, or subtracting from God’s word renders that belief system a cult. Some cults are passive and some are violent. But cults, nevertheless. A person either accepts Jesus Christ as personal Messiah and Saviour; or that person perishes; and that’s forever. It’s pass/fail. And that’s the fact of God’s word. As it was in the Old Testament, there was always a remnant of God’s people left after all others had perished. Before that, one family survived the flood during Noah’s day. With that history, I have a feeling that there will be a whole lot more lost than saved when Christ finally returns.

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 2:18pmWhy there are Muslims?
There was this d/uche known as Phocas. He usurped the Byzantine thrown from Maurice. Now the Persian King Khrosoes the II either remembered his good treatment by Maurice or used the usurption of the throne as a pretext to invade the Byzantine Empire. He very nearly destroyed it.
As Phocas was such a c/ck-up & lead the Empire to such dire straight he was overthrown by the great general Heraclius. Now Heraclius beat the HeII out of the Persians & regained the whole Empire.
But Heralcius had a problem. A lot of soldier shad died under Phocus’s watch so Heraclius had to recruit more & train them. He recruited & trained the Arabs, who were no mean warriors beforehand.
After the great Persian Byzantine war, both empires were very weak & riven by court intrigue. Who should burst onto the world stage? The Arabs!

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 9:10pmYou do realize that the Jews said the same thing about the Christians, right? Take a step back and think about how subjective your statement is. You claim that it was ok for the Christian church to add the New Testament to the original Jewish doctrine, but that if Muslims, or Mormons, or whoever else adds on to that then it is a cult. All organized religion is a cult, it is a system of manipulation, and has been used as such for thousands of years. Is it any surprise that if you or I molest a child we go to jail, but when a man of the cloth does it he only gets moved to a different area to continue molesting children. Christianity and Islam essentially teach the same thing, and in reality, Christianity has been used as justification for the deaths of millions, if not billions. Believe what you want to believe and allow others to do the same.

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 11:53pm@MOOSE 8684: That’s way to simplistic (to say the JEWS said of the Christians what the Christians are saying of Muslims). JESUS was JEWISH (Christians are not ARAB…there have since been some Arab Christians but Islam is not a “branch” of the CHRISTIAN FAITH) Jesus was the Messiah. He said so. HE is the ONLY “Prophet” to claim to be the son of GOD…not even Mohammed said that; GOD gives all His Children freedom of choice. Islam threatens death. GOD teaches one-on-one salvation that is everlasting once done; Islam teaches Collective Salvation…not at all the same or with the same results. JESUS was sinless in His life on Earth. Not what I’ve heard about Mohammed.
JESUS is the MESSIAH, the SON OF GOD. Islam has two factions Sunni/SHiite – each claim to have their own Messiah coming and neither of those are JESUS. Islam tolerated Christian Churches because they were on earth 700 years before Islam developed. Now, of course they are threatened by them. With the ADVENT of the WEB and the ease of passing information, Thousands of Muslims who thought they were seeking GOD in a Peaceful way but discovered they’d fallen into a CULT are quietly converting to JESUS. We must pray for them, but recognize the Hatred that is spewed by their Imams has -0- to do with GOD, JESUS or anything but Satan. It’s not rocket science. JESUS IS LORD. ONLY JESUS. STUDY it for yourselves. The decision U make will determine UR future in Eternity.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 8:09pmWhat will be fabulous is when we get to the final Judgement……
The Judgment
2 Corinthians 5:9-10
Every Christian is answerable to Jesus for how he or she lived life. We will not stand before the Great White Throne of Revelation 20:11–that is where unbelievers will be judged. Instead, we will go before Christ’s judgment seat and give an account of ourselves.
Perhaps this seems like a contradiction: Believers will not be judged but will stand before Christ’s judgment seat. The Greek word that 2 Corinthians uses for “judgment seat” is bema, which means a place of accountability. So those who believe in the Savior will not be condemned to death but will live and be accountable to Him.
Do not confuse accountability with giving a defense. We won’t defend our worthless actions–those things we said and did that brought no honor to the Lord or shamed His name. God likens our selfish works to wood, hay, and stubble, which are items fit only for the fire (1 Cor. 3:13). The valuable thoughts, words, and deeds that serve the Lord are exchanged for rewards in heaven.
What we’ll be judged on is the quality of our work. God has given every believer an individual purpose, along with the personality, talents, and spiritual gifts needed to fulfill it. The question that will be answered at Christ’s judgment seat is, Did I live out my purpose to honor and glorify God?
Standing before Christ’s judgment seat is something to look forward to. We need not fear, since

Posted on September 19, 2012 at 12:40pm@ HEARTITORLEAVEIT- You said: “If you guys believe in the same God here, why have you people spent the last 1400 years wishing for the death of his chosen people?”
Muslims do not wish for the death of Jews lets get that one straight first. Palestinians in Palestine that happen to be Muslim wish for the death of the oppressors which happen to be Jews.
I’ve told you over and over again the Jews lost their status as God’s chosen people:
Deuteronomy 32:21 You have made me jealous with what is no god; you have provoked me to anger with your idols. So I will make them jealous with those who are no people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
Matthew 21:43 Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruits.
You said: “The Qur’an (I helped you out with the spelling. There is no book called Koran in Islam) is sirhasirhan’s constitution, the False Prophet Muhammad (along with Moses, John the Baptist, and Jesus) is sirhansirhan’s leader, jihad is sirhansirhan‘s path and death in the name of Allah is sirhansirhan’s goal!”
You are right about that. But not in a nefarious way. What I mean by that is the same way that Jesus so called sacrificed his life for the sake of Elohim. That’s what I mean. Now I know you don’t believe that, but that’s okay with me.

Posted on September 20, 2012 at 2:13pmJohn was told in Rev 1:19 ,Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter…..
So John wrote what he saw. What John saw was not 666. What he saw was, Chi Xi Stigma.
There is a copy of that fragment of text in the Codex Vaticanus that dates from 340AD. And shows what the Chi Xi Stigma looks like in original handwritten Greek.
It can be located on the web in various places… Go look at it….
That phrase, (Chi Xi Stigma) is a multi-lingual palindrome. A palindrome is a word that read the same backwards and forwards. The Bible has a few of them that have had significance in prophecy throughout the ages. But to our knowledge, this is the only multi-lingual palindrome in existence.
The two languages are Greek and Arabic. Which is fascinating because the word that Chi Xi Stigma spells in Arabic didn’t even exist when John wrote Revelation! And I believe it is a very explicit example of the true and prophetic nature of the revelation itself.
So, what does Chi Xi Stigma spell in Arabic? It spells the word BISMALLAH! And Bismallah means, “In the Name of Allah”.

Mohammed did not ask for any evidence; He foolishly took the man’s words for granted and believed him and wanted every one of us to believe him as well.
Some people may argue that it was up to Mohammed to believe or not, it was his personal and intellectual decision. We accept his personal and intellectual choice to believe anything and be a fool, because only fools believe extraordinary claims without asking for evidence. However, in this issue of Gabriel and revelation, Mohammed believed he was representing us, all those billions of mankind, so it wasn’t a personal choice. He should have respected the intelligence of others and asked for a satisfactory evidence that he could take back to them. Mohammed failed to do any of that, he did not even try. The paradox is that he insisted on that we all must agree with him.

The oldest known references to the Islamic deity Allah are not in Arabian records but in Babylonian artifacts. Ancient tablets describe “Alla” as a deity of “violence and revolution.”
Allah was a moon-god in Babylon.
The Epic of Atrahasis, chiseled on tablets sometime around 1700 B.C. in Babylon:
“The beginning of the Epic of Atrahasis describes Allah as how all of the gods labored endlessly in grueling work, under the rule of the patron deity Enlil or Elil. But soon revolt of the gods had erupted, and one deity of ‘violence and revolution’ [was] named Allah (spelled by the experts as Alla),”
“Then Alla made his voice heard and spoke to the gods his brothers,’ Come! Let us carry Elil, the counselor of gods, the warrior from his dwelling.”

I have worked around Muslims from time to time, and have not experienced any violence or threats. However, I have had to listen to constant, whining self-righteousness, especially during Ramadan. Whine, whine, whine. “We are so much better than Christians….,’ “In my country, we blah, blah, blah…” A constant stream of self-congratulation. Islam is a religion of profound arrogance that reduces all non-adherents to a less than human status. That’s what I have a problem with.
I also wish they would leave my Lord Jesus out of their bizarre cult. What an insult to consider Him just one in a line of prophets. That really offends me deeply, but UNLIKE MUSLIMS I would never stoop to harming people with whom I profoundly disagree. I do pray for their conversion, which is the only charitable thing to do for people living in such darkness.

In the period 1990-2000, approximately 12.5 million more people converted to Islam than to Christianity”. Part of the books quote can be seen online from Google Books. This was again shown in the 2005, 50th anniversary edition of Guinness Book of World Records, although the number of conversions was not mentioned this time.
In 1990, 935 million people were Muslims and this figure had risen to around 1.2 billion by the year 2000, meaning that around this time one in five people were followers of Islam. According to the BBC, a comprehensive American study concluded in 2009 the number stood at 1 in 4 with 60% of Muslims spread all over the Asian continent: “A report from an American think-tank has estimated 1.57 billion Muslims populate the world – with 60% in Asia”. The report was done by the Pew Forum Research Centre. The forum also projected that in 2010 out of the total number of Muslims in the world 62.1% will live in Asia.

From 1990 to 2010, the global Muslim population increased at an average annual rate of 2.2%, compared with the projected rate of 1.5% for the period from 2010 to 2030″. The report also made reference to the fact that Muslims are estimated to make up 23.4% of the total global population in 2010 (out of a total of 6.9 billion people) and that by 2030 Muslims will represent about 26.4% of the global population (out of a total of 7.9 billion people). The Pew report also highlights that what little information is available suggests that there is no substantial net gain or loss in the number of Muslims through conversion globally.

I can admit that Shaul was a Pharisee, I can admit he killed the believers in Jesus (as you want to call him), but Shaul CEASED his PERSECUTIONS of the Believers because he was CONVICTED by an EVENT that did so and he turned from what he was doing.
On the other hand 600 years later, Mohammad never STOPPED raping, raiding, killing, pillaging, raping, destroying, raping, enslaving people, raping, and more raping and did all those things until the day he died and his followers did and are still doing the same thing today. He was some random illiterate 40 year old pedophile that was choked out more than once by a random glowing light with a Darth Vader complex and the rest we all know is HISTORY.
When I save up enough money, I think I want to go to Alexandria, Egypt and read all the old Manuscripts of the Ancient world…..Oh wait, Muslim Raiders eradicated all 600,000 manuscripts and burned Alexandria to the ground. Thanks Mohammed and your Crusade for Stupidity.

Lets see, you felt it necessary to lie about reading the material, but you couldn’t careless to get the spelling of the Holy book correct?! Mm-hmm! I guess it makes since to someone out there!
Did your God say this (this is a rhetorical question)? I know you know what that word means since you’re such a well read person:
1 Samuel 15:3 Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’”
4 So Saul summoned the men and mustered them at Telaim—two hundred thousand foot soldiers and ten thousand from Judah.
7 Then Saul attacked the Amalekites all the way from Havilah to Shur, near the eastern border of Egypt.
8 He took Agag king of the Amalekites alive, and all his people he totally destroyed with the sword.
9 But Saul and the army spared Agag and the best of the sheep and cattle, the fat calves and lambs everything that was good. These they were unwilling to destroy completely, but everything that was despised and weak they totally destroyed.
Your God told Saul to kill everything men, women, children, infants, cattle, sheep, goats, dogs, and chickens.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 4:06pmBefore the attack on Amalek, Saul told the Kenites to get the hell out of dodge before the initial strike.
Then he said to the Kenites, “Go away, leave the Amalekites so that I do not destroy you along with them; for you showed kindness to all the Israelites when they came up out of Egypt.”
1 Samuel 15:6
So the Kenites moved away from the Amalekites, so this gave the innocent people of Amalek plenty of notice to get out of the WAY before Saul’s strike.
Some of them would likely have fled for good reason, Saul had plenty of forces backing him up and from the TEXT, its obvious to KNOW that all of them were not killed, since they ‘lived to fight/raid again’ in David’s time (1 Samuel 27:30) and even in Hezekiah’s time (1 Chronicles 4:43) which was 200-300 years later.
So maybe you are one of the Amalakites……maybe all of the Muslims are the Amalakites…..I mean, Sacrificing your children to the Fires of Moloch does sound like something Muslim’s do, sending them off to be Martyrs for ALLAH!. BOOM! (Sacrificing their children to Molech was something the Amorites did, which were the Amalakites), the Hebrews did it too, but they got their just reward for doing that.
Sahih al-Bukhari 2797: “By Him in Whose Hands my soul is! I would love to be martyred in Allah’s Cause and then come back to life and then get martyred, and the come back to life again and then get martyred and then come back to life again and then get martyred.”

16 And he turned unto her by the way, and said, Go to, I pray thee, let me have sexual intercourse; (for he knew not that she was his daughter in law*.) And she said, What wilt thou give me, that thou mayest have sexual intercourse with me?
17 And he said, I will send thee a kid from the flock. And she said, Wilt thou give me a pledge, till thou send it?
18 And he said, What pledge shall I give thee? And she said, Thy signet, and thy bracelets, and thy staff that is in thine hand. And he gave it her, and had sexual intercourse with her, and she conceived by him.

Allah was the chief god among the approximately 360 idols in the Kaaba in Mecca…Allah is a contraction of AL-ilah, the name of the Moon God [Hubal] of the local Quraysh, Mohammed’s tribe…Allah’ symbol was a crescent moon, which Muhammad carried over into Islam. This symbol is seen on Mosques, minarets, shrines, and ARAB FLAGS” (David Hunt, In Defense of the Faith, pp.37-38)
Access to the idol of Hubal was controlled by the Quraysh tribe of Banu Hashim clan, which Muhammed belonged too.
“Pagan ritualism also CONTRIBUTED to the religious world into which Muhammad was born…The PAGANS OF PRE-ISLAMIC ARABIA taught that everyone should bow and pray towards Mecca during certain times of the day. Everyone should make a pilgrimage to Mecca to worship at the Kaaba at least once in their life. Once they arrive at Mecca, the PAGANS RAN AROUND THE KAABA SEVEN TIMES KISSED THE BLACK STONE…The pagan rites comprised the religion into which MUHAMMAD WAS RAISED BY HIS FAMILY [who were worshipers of Hubal-the Allah of Mecca] IS ACKNOWLEDGED BY ALL. Thus it is no surprise to find that, as Arab scholar Nazar-Ali has observed: ‘Islam RETAINED MANY ASPECTS OF THE PAGAN RELIGION”’ (Morey, Islamic Invasion, pp.42-43)

HoneyBager, I’m not sharing these stories with you to convert you. I couldn’t care less if you or any Christian, converted or not, that’s between you and Allah. I share these stories to show you and others that Allah chooses whomever He wishes to be His servant.
The Bible says Moses spoke to God “face to face, like a man speaketh to his friend”. Moses was polygynous. Abraham was known as a “friend of God” and Abraham married his sister. David is known in the Bible as “a man after God’s own heart”, yet, we know that David had Uriah killed so he could have sexual relations with Uriah’s wife Bath-sheba. Paul, was to Christians, what Hitler was to the Jew.
As you can see, these men were not perfect men, but good chose them for His own reason. If Prophet Muhammad did what you and others have accused (which I do not believe) him of, God could have still chosen him to deliver His message.
Judges 16:1 One day Samson went to Gaza, where he saw a prostitute. He had sexual intercourse with her.

Abraham
David
Paul – All of them have something in common. They didn’t marry any 6 year old GIRLS!, NOR DID THEY HAVE SEX WITH THEM WHEN THEY WERE 9 YEARS OLD!!!!
Child Rape is Child RAPE. Aisha was still playing with her DOLLS when he had sex with her.
The two most highly respected collections of hadith are the authenticated collections the Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. (Sahih literally means “correct, true, valid, or sound.”)
Sirhan: If Prophet Muhammad did what you and others have accused (which I do not believe) him of, God could have still chosen him to deliver His message.
I’m not saying, The Sahih Bukhari SAYS IT:
Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 4, Number 231 – Narrated SulaImam bin Yasar: “I asked ‘Aisha about the clothes soiled with semen. She replied, “I used to wash it off the clothes of Allah’s Apostle and he would go for the prayer while water spots were still visible.”
Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64:
Narrated by ‘Aisha “That the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years” (i.e., till his death).
There is no where in the Quran where Mohammed Repented from his mass murdering or child raping.

Narrated by ‘Aisha: that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).
The pronoun(s) in the above verse tells me this is not narrated by Aisha, this is someone putting these words in the mouth of Aisha.

Posted on September 18, 2012 at 10:33pm@ HONEYBAGER7X7- Moon God?! here’s what the Glorious Qur’an has to say about that:
And among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. Do not prostrate (bow down in worship) yourselves to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate yourselves to Allah (Arabic, word for God Almighty), Who created them, if it is Him that you wish to serve.
But if the (unbelievers) are proud, (it does not matter): Because, in the Presence of your Lord are those (His, Angels) who celebrate His Praises by night and by day. And they are never tired of it (nor feel themselves above it).
And among His sign is this: You see the earth with nothing growing and wasted, but when We (Allah) send down rain to it, it is (gently) brought to life and the plants regrow. Truly, He Who gives life to it (the earth which is dead) can surely give life to the dead. Indeed, over all things, He is most Powerful Able to do all things. (Holy Qur’an 41:37-39)

Posted on September 19, 2012 at 1:26amsirhan states: ” Allah (Arabic, word for God Almighty)” and he is correct!
The author of the Atrahasis epic was one Ipiq-Aya who lived under the reign of the Old Babylonian king Ammi-Saduqa, and that he wrote it in the Akkadian language (the tongue of the Old Babylonian kingdom). The ‘Akkadians’ it must be noted did not originally spring from Iraq, but had migrated from south Arabia, specifically Yemen, into Mesopotamia, where south Arabian inscriptions have been discovered, as in Kuwait on the Arab shores of the Persian gulf close to the borders of Iraq. The deities of Shamash (the Sun), and Ashdar/ Athtar (Venus) were both brought by the Akkadians from South Arabia into Mesopotamia.

The report also included a statement saying “While the global Muslim population is expected to grow at a faster rate than the non-Muslim population, the Muslim population nevertheless is expected to grow at a slower pace in the next two decades than it did in the previous two decades. From 1990 to 2010, the global Muslim population increased at an average annual rate of 2.2%, compared with the projected rate of 1.5% for the period from 2010 to 2030″.

Muslims do not wish for the death of Jews lets get that one straight first. Palestinians in Palestine that happen to be Muslim wish for the death of the oppressors which happen to be Jews.
I‘ve told you over and over again the Jews lost their status as God’s chosen people:
Deuteronomy 32:21 You have made me jealous with what is no god; you have provoked me to anger with your idols. So I will make them jealous with those who are no people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
Matthew 21:43 Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruits.

Posted on September 19, 2012 at 8:01pm@ HEARTITORLEAVEIT- In the English language, the capitalized form of God continues to represent a distinction between monotheistic “God” and “gods” in polytheism. The English word “God” and its counterparts in other languages are normally used for any and all conceptions and, in spite of significant differences between religions, the term remains an English translation common to all. The same holds for Hebrew El, but in Judaism, God is also given a proper name, the tetragrammaton (written YHWH), in origin the name of an Edomite or Midianite deity, Yahweh. In many translations of the Bible, when the word “LORD” is in all capitals, it signifies that the word represents the tetragrammaton. Allāh (Arabic: الله allāh) is the Arabic term with no plural or gender used by Muslims and Arabic speaking Christians and Jews meaning “The God” (with a capital G), while “ʾilāh” (Arabic: إله ellāh) is the term used for a deity or a god in general. (Webster Dictionary)
You’re kinda slow so I know you and HoneyBager7x7 wont understand this, but that’s okay too.

Had she narrated it she would have used the singular pronoun I instead of using the personal pronoun she. The Hadith is not authentic.
You Christians worship a man, a man that has been gone for 2000 years. A man that had no power:
John 5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing:
A man that couldn’t read:
John 7:15 And the Jews marvelled , saying , How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
A man that got thirsty:
John 19:28 …Jesus….saith, I thirst.
A man that slept on a pillow:
Mark 4:38 And Jesus was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow:
A man that at one point didn’t know what season it was:
Mark 11:13 Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, Jesus went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs.
A man that did not posses all knowledge:
Matthew 24:36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son (Jesus was referring to himself), but only the Father.

Have you seen these writings? Can you read Greek? I can, and have!
Man you are dense! Why would anyone pass out a greek manuscript to English speaking Americans?
The Codex Vaticanus (The Vatican, Bibl. Vat., Vat. gr. 1209; no. B or 03 Gregory-Aland, δ 1 von Soden), is one of the oldest extant manuscripts of the Greek Bible (Old and New Testament), one of the four great uncial codices. The Codex is named for the residence in the Vatican Library, where it has been stored since at least the 15th century. It is written on 759 leaves of vellum in uncial letters and has been dated palaeographically to the 4th century…
Please, If you can read Greek, and were allowed to visit the Vatican to view the codex, you will find that the symbol contained in Revelations 13 is NOT GREEK BUT IS THE SYMBOL الله …… however this symbol is NOT GREEK and was not understood by the author, he merely wrote what was revealed to him, this symbol was later changed to 666, but in the original manuscripts was الله and the codex is PROOF that allah is the antichrist/ beast…….

On second thought I’ll post this: “One scribe worked on the OT and another the NT. A corrector went through the manuscript, probably soon after its writing. Then a second corrector worked on the manuscript much later (10th or 11th century) and traced over the faded letters with fresh ink omitting letters and words he considered to be wrong. (How can the word of God be wrong?!)
“Notice at the end of the first line below that there is a line written out to the side. This represented the letter Nu (N). In the full picture of Codex Vaticanus, look in the margin to the far right, you will see something written out to the side. The scribe forgot a phrase which was later written out in the margin with a symbol designating where it should be inserted. In the left margin of the third column, about half way down, you can see a mark written. This is the letter Beta (B) representing the number two. This is a chapter marker.”
As you can see from the explanation above that is the symbol you keep refereeing to as Allah!

Mo-ham-mad taught Muslims to murder Jews.
Sahih Bukhari Hadith Volume 4, Book 52, Number 176: Narrated by ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar: Allah’s Apostle said, “You (i.e. Muslims) will fight with the Jews till some of them will hide behind stones. The stones will (betray them) saying, ‘O ‘Abdullah (i.e. slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him.’” Sahih Bukhari Hadith Volume 4, Book 52, Number 177: Narrated by Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. “O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.”

Note: Mo-ham-mad taught Muslims to murder people they thought to be idolaters.
Qur’an 9:005: So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
Note: Mo-ham-mad taught Muslims to murder people if they thought it was a just cause.
Qur’an 17:033: And do not kill any one whom Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause, and whoever is slain unjustly, We have indeed given to his heir authority, so let him not exceed the just limits in slaying; surely he is aided.
Note: Murder is the major unspoken pillar of Islam. This explains why there are Muslims who are making bombs and detonating them as you read this. Civilized governments must be proactive and preemptive in their response to international Muslim terrorism. Appeasement of Islam will drive the world into World War III just as appeasement of Hitler resulted in World War II. Is your government pacifying the Muslim menace? How many more innocent victims of Muslim terrorism will there be?

I reject Islam because of Muhammad’s lack of moral and ethical fortitude.
Muhammad lived a less than holy life. His lust for sex, his affairs with his maids and slave girls, his pedophilic relationship with Aisha a 9-year-old child at the age of 53, his killing sprees, his massacre and the genocide of the Jews, his slave making and trading, his assassination of his opponents, his raids and lootings of the merchant caravans, his burning of the palm plantations, his destroying the water wells, his cursing and invoking evil on his enemies, his revenge on his captured prisoners of war and his hallucinations about having sex with his wives when he actually did not, disqualify him as a sane person let alone a messenger of God.

I reject Islam because of the absurdities in Quran.
An unbiased study of Quran shows that far from being a “miracle” that book is a hoax. Quran is replete with scientific heresies, historic blunders, mathematical mistakes, logical absurdities, grammatical errors and ethical fallacies. Could possibly the author of this Universe be as ignorant as it appears to be in Quran?
So let us start with Muhammad’s character first. Then we move to Quran and will discuss it to see whether it is a miracle as Muslims say or a hodgepodge of nonsense and absurdities.

Why did Mohammed believe Gabriel? He did so without making any effort to verify the identity of the stranger.
Even if that stranger claimed to be Gabriel and also claimed that he carried a message from Allah, would that be an enough reason to believe him?
Has the possibilities that the stranger was a bogus, deceptive or misleading were all ruled out?
The Arabs also believed in ‘jinn’ and other mythical characters, were those ruled out?

Posted on September 21, 2012 at 10:54amAllah and Ibrahim (Abraham)
Ibrahim was Allah’s friend. The Quran doesn’t describe any other human as friend except Ibrahim (3). Being a friend, Ibrahim must have known many things about Allah including that well known ‘claim’ about creation.
Ibrahim’s friendship with Allah did not stop him from asking his friend to demonstrate to him that He truly can create things!
Allah, the all knowing, didn’t know what motivated Ibrahim to ask such a question after all those years of friendship. ‘Don’t you believe?‘ asked Allah. ‘Yes, I do, but I want to make sure’ answered Ibrahim (4). Indeed, Allah obliged and treated his friend to a practical demonstration of creation.
That was Ibrahim, Allah’s friend and the father of prophets, still had doubts about Allah even while speaking to Him directly.
How does that contrast with Mohammed who did not see anything in the cave, other than an impertinent stranger, and wanted all mankind to believe him ..or otherwise!

Posted on September 21, 2012 at 10:57am“We have sent down the Quran and surely We will protect” The Quran 15,9
Most Muslims are familiar with the above verse from the Quran, which they consider as the concrete proof that the Quran is perfectly preserved. The verse is clear; Allah pledges to protect his book from corruption, which provides Muslims with a much needed assurance that their holy book is reliable. Such assurance was necessary to Muslims whose confidence in the divine scriptures was shaken after the Quran’s repeated accusations to other nations of tampering with their own scriptures.
Muslims are taught that preservation of the Quran is an accepted fact that distinguishes Islam from the rest. The claim aims to make the Quran stand out as the only true divine book in the procession of mankind today. The Muslims’ claim is a big lie that has proved to be a very successful selling point to converts who often refer to the Quran in that sense.
It is not advisable to question the authenticity of the Quran with Muslims unless you are sure of their relative tolerance. The Muslims clouded minds quickly moves into circular logic such as: ”Of course, every word in the the Quran is preserved as Allah revealed it to his prophet, this is an absolute fact because Allah vowed to protect his book from any corruption” It would be a struggle to try to point out that a statement in the Quran can not be accepted as a proof of its authenticity.

From a scientific point of view, the Quran and Islam wouldn’t stand a chance if subjected to proper historical scrutiny (1). Mohammed’s birth and life, the Quran and the beginning of Islam are all shrouded with a thick coat of vagueness and obscurity. But this article discredits the islamic claim on the basis of the accepted Islamic history.
How the Quran was preserved
As all Muslims know, the Quran was not Allah’s first book; a few others were revealed centuries before the Quran. None of those scriptures survived to our day because they were tampered with by the very people to whom they were revealed. Fourteen hundreds years ago, Allah decided conclusively to reveal a scripture, once and for all, which He called the Quran, and vowed to protect it from corruption.
We do not know the reasons why people tampered with the earlier scriptures. Did they gain anything by deliberately making changes to Allah’s words? Why they did not fear Allah, especially with all the stories in those scriptures, about Allah’s punishments to those who dared to disobey Him. We also do not know why Allah allowed his books to be tampered with. Even human writers do not allow any changes to their works.

Posted on September 21, 2012 at 5:34pmThe Arabic word used here for scheme (or plot) is makara, which literally means deceit. If Allah is deceitful toward unbelievers, then there is little basis for denying that Muslims are allowed to do the same.
From the Hadith:
Bukhari (52:269) – “The Prophet said, ‘War is deceit.’” The context of this is thought to be the murder of Usayr ibn Zarim and his thirty unarmed men by Muhammad’s men after he “guaranteed” them safe passage (see Additional Notes below).
Bukhari (49:857) – “He who makes peace between the people by inventing good information or saying good things, is not a liar.” Lying is permitted when the end justifies the means.
Bukhari (84:64-65) – Speaking from a position of power at the time, Ali confirms that lying is permissible in order to deceive an “enemy.”
Muslim (32:6303) – “…he did not hear that exemption was granted in anything what the people speak as lie but in three cases: in battle, for bringing reconciliation amongst persons and the narration of the words of the husband to his wife, and the narration of the words of a wife to her husband (in a twisted form in order to bring reconciliation between them).”

MASSACRE: At the hands of the Jews-
(a) Numbers 31:17-18 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
And the Jews saved for themselves 32,000 virgins,:
Numbers 31:35 And thirty and two thousand persons in all, of women that had not known man by lying with him.
Plus the Jews saved some of these persons for their God to have as well:
Numbers 31:40 And the persons were sixteen thousand; of which the Lord’S share was thirty and two persons.
(b) Deuteronomy 20:16 But of the cities of these people, which the Lord thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth:
(c) Joshua 6:21 And they (the Jews) utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.
(d) Joshua 10:28 he (Joshua) let none remain alive.
Deuteronomy 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it.

1 Corinthians 9:20-23 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
23 And this I do for the gospel’s sake.
No person can be all things to all people without lying (practicing taqiyya) to some of the people. If it’s wrong in the Qur’an to practice taqiyya it’s wrong for the Bible to teach taqiyya too.

Tell me, are these the true words of God?:
ALCOHOL: A devilish advice in God’s (?) book?
(a) Proverbs 31:6-7 Let beer be for those who are DYING, wine for those who are in MISERY!
7 Let them drink and FORGET their poverty and remember their misery no more. (in other words DON’T ask God for relief through prayer and supplication just go out and have a few beers and drink some wine and you’ll be fine! Even your God is an infidel!)
ALCOHOL RECOMMENDED IN PREFERENCE TO WATER!
(b) 1 Timothy 5:23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities. (Again, DON’T ask God for relief through prayer, supplication, and fasting just go out and have a few beers and drink some wine and you’ll be fine!)
WHAT DOES THE (AA) (ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS) HOLY QUR’AN SAY?
(c) Alcohol is the Devil’s handiwork says the …Holy Qur’an 5-91
Satan seeketh only to cast among you enmity and hatred by means of strong drink and games of chance, and to turn you from remembrance of Allah and from (His) worship.
Deuteronomy 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
“Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the multitude of the beast: for it is the multitude of a man; and his sign is “the son of man”

Posted on September 24, 2012 at 10:30amWow, what a great defense, you really got me on that one!
But this Allah God of yours, isn’t this the same Allah in the Epic of Atrahasis, chiseled on tablets sometime around 1700 B.C. in Babylon?
“The beginning of the Epic of Atrahasis describes Allah as how all of the gods labored endlessly in grueling work, under the rule of the patron deity Enlil or Elil. But soon revolt of the gods had erupted, and one deity of ‘violence and revolution’ [was] named Allah (spelled by the experts as Alla),”
“Then Alla made his voice heard and spoke to the gods his brothers,’ Come! Let us carry Elil, the counselor of gods, the warrior from his dwelling.”
Mahoundmad is still the Antichrist and sirhoundsirhound is one of his minions!

What about you mom’s Meth lab?…Trying to point that on me only shows your simple mind, and is the same as me saying, for example, that all Americans are “locked” as you do. Or like saying that Anwar Al Aulaki and the OWS represent the very best of your country, which I know for sure that they don’t. I stand with all my comments to this day, that represents what kind of person I’m, and could also represent people like me here: My family, my close friends, my associates, etc. And if you don’t know, the only real ally of USA in S.A. is my country, the rest hate your country to the guts. Here, we’ve been always with USA. And if you don’t know, thanks to your country, especially G.W. Bush, we could turn tables on the Marxist guerrilla that we have over here! We know what is to face socialism and Marxism because we’ve suffered the atrocities. My family, friends and myself have had to deal with kidnappings, extortion and killings, so I’ll be always with your fellow Americans against that cancer!

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 6:57pmI’m not sure if I fully understand your last comment. What I was trying to say is that I’ve been here commenting for almost a year, and I think my comments show during that period of time what kind of person I am, and that I stand with every word I’ve said here. I think I can say that I share the same beliefs and thoughts of, not only the editors and Glenn Beck, but also the people that come here to read and comment. On the other hand, over here in my country, almost all people that surround me think the same way as I do regarding those issues. So, I was trying to say that even if my country has that bad image related to drugs, there are also very good people here that share the same values that you hold there. People that believe not in a democracy but in a republic, that believe in free enterprise, capitalism, God and His Son Jesus, small government, freedom, etc.

And we hate drugs. We’ve paid a big price fighting that cancer here. You can’t imagine how much. We hate every little thing and every person related to them. We hate what they do to our people and your people. You can’t imagine the violence we lived 10 years ago because that poison. Now we are very ok. It’s really nice where I live, very safe, very good way of life.
On the other hand, drugs are the main fuel of the Marxist guerrilla, and that people has been doing harm to our country for the last 50 years. You can’t imagine the damage they have done to our country, and all done by communists helped by Castro´s brothers since the late 50’s.
The kidnapping by the guerrilla was a very serious deal here. Very common. Please check about the Americans that were captured and kept in the jungle by FARC for almost 6 years…….so, in short, we really hate drugs, we hate violence, we hate communism and we hate Marxism.

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 1:57pmI agree, this was an informative article. It has not made me sympathetic with Islam, but it focuses my attention on the truth. Even though I would defend anybody’s right to practice religion, I am just as disappointed with Judaism and Christianity as I am with Islam. They are all paternalistic, misogynistic, war-themed, hypocritical, and ill-conceived systems for practicing morality. Morality can be pure, but religions give morality a bad name. Morality is simply those actions and behaviors that lead to the good health and well-being of individuals and communities. It is not necessary to threaten followers and non-believers concerning a short list of behaviors with long lists of punishments and judgments. An honest and scientific education revealing how to live a healthy and happy life would suffice.

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 1:12pmHowever, there are very few Muslims that denounce their radical and violent counterparts. Why is this? Because they cannot speak out against the evil in their mist or evil will be done to them. Please understand that their base’s is supposed to be in the name of good yet it always falls short to the Christian goodness and free will that God gave to all mankind. All (or for the most part) stand idle at defending good when it comes to killing innocent people who stand in their way. I believe this plan of salvation is Satan’s plan. It’s deceptive and always will be. As they proclaim that we must come into the fold or die in the fire! Only Satan makes such ultimatum statements. As he never believed people could do right if given the chance.

We are not doing a thing to them except helping them…although I have long suspected O’s real agenda in the Middle East is the installation of radical Islamist governments, no matter what he says. And you could argue that radical Islam is destructive and that by funding it we are harming them, but that’s about it. Where are Christians harming Muslims? Posted on September 16, 2012 at 2:17pm“Mass Murders” by Christians during the Crusades ~200,000 over ~300 years.
The Crusades, which by the way christians have repented, were an effort to reclaim lands lost to Islam. In that those lands were once Christian and the residents slaughtered or forced to convert.
“Mass Murders” by Muslims in Armenia ~1,500,000 over 3 years from 1915 to 1918
They did that in 3 years, during the 20th century. Now start looking at the millions, tens of millions, and in fact HUNDREDS of millions killed by Muslims in the name of Islam in the ~1,400 years leading up to that..
Way to draw moral equivilance. I don’t need to go into Athiestic murder, eugenics, planned parenthood, etc.. because this story is about Islam, or at least it says it is.. it seems more about a fairy tale islam..
Look up the word dhimmi.. it’s a religion of peace my @!#

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 6:40pmIt’s funny how Christianity and Islam have long histories of enacting mass murder against those who don’t hold their views yet the Jews have been here the longest and were too busy studying and thinking to become barbarians for the supernatural. We just ended up successful and targets of hatred when the rest of the world couldn’t hack it in bad times. Unfortunately we didn’t put the books down and pick up the swords enough after the diaspora. And still to this day Jewish perspective on life is unique. It is a psychological issue. Both Christianity and Islam are religions obsessed with death and what happens after you die. Judaism is obsessed with life. Growing up Jewish I learned about all this wacky eternal damnation drama from christian’s. No such thing as “satanism” in judaism.. this neurosis in thought is a major component to christian and islamic faith.
