Yep, SNL Did a Clint Eastwood Empty Chair Sketch

NBC
Perhaps no summer political story seemed destined for the “Saturday Night Live” treatment more than Clint Eastwood’s empty chair skit at the Republican National Convention. And for the show’s season premiere, SNL delivered, with a promo for “Eastwood and Chair.”
“The comedy duo that rocked the Republican National Convention is taking their act on the road,” it promises. “It’s two full hours of high-waisted hijinks…just American legend Clint Eastwood performing one-half of a conversation with invisible, irritated and foul-mouthed Barack Obama.”
And it’s not just Obama who will be in the “hot seat”: “Eastwood and Chair” promises to grill former President Jimmy Carter (“Nice work on those hostages — that turned out great!”), New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg (“Just let people eat soda.”) and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (“I think we’re gonna need a bigger chair.”).
Watch below, via NBC:
In CONTROL, Glenn Beck presents a passionate, fact-based case for guns that reveals why gun control isn’t really about controlling guns at all; it’s about controlling us. Posted on September 16, 2012 at 11:37pmI’m still waiting to see if they make a skit where the Dems deny God thrice. It won’t happen of course. Not even bothering to hit the play button on this one. BO’s still an empty chair since he rather go to Vegas then do his job when his Libyan Ambassador got killed earlier that same day. :)

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 7:50amI think Theblaze staff has to be counted among the unoriginal as well.
It’s fine that some of the staff still watch a show that is not relevant. But three SNL stories on the first page of stories is too much.
There must be a UFO story out there to use as filler instead.

If you don’t like it here in this country, why don’t you move to a more socialist one, oh yeah, and take your lying buddy Alec Baldwin with you, who said that he would leave the US if George Bush were elected…….TWICE! You are a great example of the party of “do what I say and not what I do”, now go and eat your vegetables…….

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 8:44pmAgreed, it’s a politically safe way for a journalist to bang out some copy in a hurry. ‘Nobody watches it Glenn but it is still relevant…even though you haven’t watched it in 30 years and you were high at the time.’ When in reality it’s as relevant as a Doonesbury strip. Quick, when was the last time you cared about that? Back when there were three channels and a daily paper, which was 35 years ago and you were high at the time. If I may paraphrase the Toned-Arm Obama, from our 51st state of Puerto Rico — one of 57 including Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala among others — it’s time to create new Traditions Glenn. It’s time for BS of A to restring Team America and start setting the agenda instead of reacting to it.

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 6:47pmWhy does The Blaze employ Mrs Morgenstern? Thee SNL posts in one day? All she does is watch SNL and then bore us with her links to what she thinks is funny. Nobody watches SNL and no one here cares what a bunch of very bad comedy writers churn out in the name of comedy.
The Blaze needs to get someone that does not watch SNL all day long in her office and replace her with someone that is interested in world events.

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 6:10pmDon’t like SNL and the Left wing media which endlessly tells you how stupid you are? There’s something you can do about it:
1. Stop watching SNL.
2. Cancel your cable TV.
3. Turn off your television. Forever.
Or, you can come to the Blaze and other comment boards and cry about how bad the Left and the media are. But remember, they can’t keep going year in and year out without YOUR support.

Maybe you guys could consider letting the commies at NBC promote their own propaganda and not do all their work for them for free.

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 6:08pmSo, I went to check the bylines on these three stories because I figured that it was just three different writers, each with a different angle on the same episode. But, no. Madeleine Morganstern authored all three.
Madeleine, couldn’t you have just called it “SNL Recap” and condensed it into one post? That way, I could have just skipped the derision altogether, chalking it up to “knowing your enemy.” This smells more like promoting NBC’s propaganda than knowing one’s enemy.
There are plenty of other stories in the news today:
Anti-Japan protests in China
Netanyahu says Iran is only 20 yards from the nuclear end-zone
Occupy planning to hit corporate targets in business attire
Iran says they have elite troops in Syria
Egypt PM says some protesters were paid to be there
Yet, here we are looking at the third story of the day rehashing last night’s propaganda from the Ministry of Truth that is NBC.
Sorry, Madeleine. I usually am very appreciative of the work you and your fellow Blaze staffers do, but I couldn’t let this get by without comment.

Posted on September 16, 2012 at 6:12pmThey have lampooned Biden. They didn’t mock Eastwood because of a gaffe, although blaming Obama for starting the Afghanistan war and claiming we shouldn’t vote for another lawyer for President were gaffes, considering Romney is a lawyer. They mocked him because he looked like a fool to the 90% of the nation that aren’t tea partiers. The network audience didn’t see the outstanding film on the Romney family because the GOP thought Eastwood would be more effective. That is some serious stupidity, and it’s stupidity like that causing Obama to pull away in the polls. I think their message is way too thin on details, but it’s the repeated misjudgements that are going to get Republicans clobbered in November.
