College Prof on Leave After Forcing Students to Sign ‘Pledge’ to Vote for Obama

A college professor at Brevard Community College (BCC) in Cocoa, Fla. has been placed on leave after she allegedly required her class to sign a pledge to vote for President Barack Obama “and Democrats up and down the ticket.
Campus Reform reports that professor Sharon Sweet at BCC allegedly told students to sign a pledge that states: “I pledge to vote for President Obama and Democrats up and down the ticket.”
The pledge came from “GottaVote.org,” a website paid for by the Obama campaign.
The Leadership Institute’s Campus Reform has more:
University administrators said they learned about the incident late Thursday afternoon and launched an investigation, after they received a phone call from a concerned parent.
“Based on the allegations, Associate Professor Sweet has requested, and been granted, a leave of absence without pay effective immediately,” reads a statement put out by John Glisch, Associate Vice President for Communications at BCC.
“The college will continue its investigation into the matter, which will include interviews with all students in her class,” continues the statement.
In addition to being inappropriate action in the classroom, Sweet’s pledge requirement may have also violated Florida election law.
Section 104.31, of Title IX in chapter 104, states that “no officer or employee of the state… shall… use his or her official authority or influence for the purpose of interfering with an election or nomination of officer or influencing another person’s vote or affecting the result thereof.”

This epidemic abuse of authority by the Marxists in Academia must be stopped if we have any hope of saving this nation from collapse. They are creating drones and useful idiots in our public schools and universities. Yes, it has been going on for decades, but we have reached the tipping point and something must be done about it NOW or there will be no later.
This teacher should be prosecuted for her behavior, because losing her job only means that some Marxist at another school will hire her next week and give her a pat on the back for it. This crap has gotten way outta hand, and it’s time to start jerking a knot in their butts when they want to corrupt young minds like this.
She should be banned for life from teaching or working at any school in any capacity. She has proven she cannot be trusted around young minds.

Also, professors by the tens of thousands are pushing for Obama. The vast majority will do almost anything right up to the point of having students sign a voting pledge. I remember how some of my “teachers” basically tried to brainwash everyone in the class against God, Republicans, and/or small government.

While she may have been “advised” to request leave of absence, at least she had the brains to do it rather than institute a lawsuit.
Secondly, she very well could be facing jail time with a bright orange jump suit.

I don’t know if that carries a mandatory sentence or not, but I hope so. I also hope that this story goes viral and every college student reads it so they realize that they can’t be forced into voting for B.O. I hope lots of people read it and realize something like this crazy pledge is absolutely wrong.

I am a public elementary school teacher and I would never try to do anything like this! I just try to teach them what the constitution is, and what our freedoms mean. So, NO Pay while on leave. Perhaps you’d prefer they burn her at the stake without investigation? You have a problem with due process? Do you not think it wise to investigate fully any/all allegations and THEN punish (or not) based upon the conclusions?
You knee-jerk people are just as bad as liberal progressives in that you want quick rushes to judgement instead of sane, intelligent investigations before condemning. While I will agree that in many cases items like this are brushed under the carpet and perpetrators not punished, I refuse to sink to the level of painting an entire group of people with such a wide brush.

The statute states that “a person may not directly or indirectly use intimidation or any tactic to induce or compel an individual to vote for any particular individual or ballot measure.” Punishable as a felony third degree. That would be a third degree felony for each count. Will this statute be casually overlooked by officials or will someone get serious about voter tampering.

Posted on September 18, 2012 at 10:12amI live in Cocoa and had her as a teacher. To give her credit She does know math which is the class she was teaching. She is not 300lbs either but she is heaver. When I had her as a teacher she was good she was a liberal but still good as a teacher. She was my professor I think 2.5 years ago. Don’t get me wrong I don’t like what she did and disagree completely. She overstepped the bounds of teaching because it has nothing to do with math.

Colleges are full of liberal, screw-ball, idiot professors. American tech industries say they can not find qualified employees. No, but I bet then can find liberal drones a-plenty. Unable to think for themselves, can only repeat Dem talking points and often feel a thrill up their leg. Maybe it’s time for grandparents to give up “retirement” and start some kind of home schooling for their grandchildren. Something must be done to shut done the propaganda mill/babysitting machine. Sure, parents have to work but, I long for the days when at least one parent was home in charge of our future citizens to guide them with love and wisdom. Also, if we want to stop immigration America we need to start having lots of babies raised in good stable homes to become responsible future leaders. Spit yourselves out of the system best you can is the only answer.

People who are skilled and talented (whether they have a college education or not) would rather have a job where they actually accomplish or produce something . A whole bunch (not all) of those in the teaching profession can’t compete in the real world so they turn into tenured slugs and try to convince naive , impressionable young students how brilliant they are .

She works at a small state funded college which gets lot’s of federal dollars establishing affirmative action at every corner they can. Ever been/worked with a small state run college and saw the incompetance from all levels. It’s insane. Everything the folks that are employed by the State to do is outsourced to the private sector who have to make them look good….or no more contracts. WE the tax payers pay twice for the same outcome we could get if it were just private sector. Affirmative action IS middle class welfare. Check out the 8A program and it’s statistics. Shocking.
