This Graph Shows Why Obama Is Ahead in the Polls
Note: This story has been updated.
Ever since the arguably skewed CNN poll of a few weeks back, conservative voters have been looking at the methodology of polling companies with an increasing amount of skepticism. The fact that most polls have used a model that tries to mimic the voter turnout in 2008, when Democrats beat Republican turnout by 7 points (as opposed to presidential elections like 2004, where turnout between the two parties was relatively even), has not improved this state of affairs.
And now, the suspicion of poll bias appears to have yet one more piece of evidence to support it. Via a tweet by anonymous poll analyst NumbersCruncher comes the following graph showing the degree of oversampling of Democrats employed by the most recent polls (all of which show Obama leading Romney):
Blogger keithbacker at Battleground Watch sums up the graph this way:
The real take-away which I have mentioned the times I blog national polls is that many of those national polls are HORRIBLE for Obama, namely the ABC/Washington Post and CBS/New York Times polls where you have large Democrat over-samplings but rather small leads for Obama. This means if Obama doesn’t meet or beat his stellar 2008 turnout advantage he’s in for a drubbing on election day.
These over-samplings serve a few purposes but mainly drive down enthusiasm for Republicans while assisting the Obama campaign with “bandwagon” supporters who simply like being on the winning team (they’re real and they count).
This is a telling bit of information, and shows the power of polls to become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Granted, most of the polls using a high Democrat oversampling may be doing so simply as a means to estimate conservatively what could happen, if things stay the same from 2008. This is not unreasonable, given the enthusiasm gap that has recently been measured, but that enthusiasm gap is itself arguably reinforced by polling. The Romney ground game will need to push back aggressively if it wants to make up for that negative feedback loop.
UPDATE: Libertarian pollster Emily Ekins writes in to dispute the graph, while pointing to other problems with polls. From her email to the Blaze:
First, the graph only shows the party-id breakdown among all survey respondents, (which is all these pollsters tend to report). However, what we need to see is the party-id breakdown among likely voters, since presidential election match-up numbers are based on likely voters, not all survey respondents. Second, these surveys tend to report party-id without sorting Independents; however, most Independents lean Democratic or Republican. Sorting Independents tends to diminish the party id gap. However, I’d be interested if whether these polls get a more Democratic or Republican “cut” of Independents, which could skew the results. Third, the graph’s horizontal axis presumes each sample should have an equal number of Democrats and Republicans, since it’s titled “% of Dem Sample Advantage.” However, survey data typically indicate that more people do self identify as Democrat than Republican and more people self identify as conservative than liberal. All this graph really tells me is that Democrats like Obama, and the more who self identify as Democratic, the higher Obama’s share will be in the survey. However, what we ultimately want to know is how many likely voters self identify as Democratic and Republican. We can turn to Election Exit Poll data for a reference: we find that since 1992, self identified Democrats lead self-identified Republicans by an average of 3 percentage points among actual voters. (2008 is a clear outlier) This of course doesn’t even account for how Independents lean.
Party ID 1992 1994 1996 1998 2000 2004 2006 2008 2010 Avg Democrat 38 36 39 39 39 37 38 39 35 38 Republican 35 36 35 37 35 37 36 32 35 35 Independent 27 27 26 24 27 26 26 29 29 27 Source: Roper CenterThe leads us to the real issue, which is whether these pollsters’ likely voter models are correct. I found it extraordinarily difficult to track down how these pollsters define “likely voters”, and they only report party ids for all survey respondents, not likely voters. We want to know if these surveys (below) which show Obama leading, have accurate likely voter models, and if the share of likely Democratic voters is reasonable. From these data alone, we can’t tell.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 8:01amI don’t know about the polls, but it does feel like Romney is losing. THe RNC meeting was not good PEOPLE. His campaign seems to be mismanaged. This is troubling since he is suppose to be a CEO. That tied with his real desire seems to be to advance the Mormon religion spells trouble. As you recall, your host Beck, has stated, the superiority of Mormonism here many times. I guess it will all come down to the debates.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 8:44amThis article reminds me of 1980 when Carter was running against Reagan. All unions including the UAW were backing Carter 100%.The race was like right now – neck & neck. As a Democrat I voted for Carter but I told my wife that in 4 more years we would be using Russian Rupels. Half of Detroit was laid off – a new cars interest rate was 21% and 17% if you bought a new home, so half the country like now was laid off. The news media made it sound like Carter would win by a landslide. It was a landslide , except it was Reagan that won and Carter only carried 1 state and it wasn’t his home state.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 8:48amObama will when the election. And I blame the Republican party. They have picked a loser to run against him. Everyone knows that Ohio is a must win state. Ohio will fall to Obama again, he won by more than 5% of the vote last time. After Governor Kasich did what he did after getting into office, a lot of my republican friends are voting for Obama. They are voting their pocket book, NOT their morals or even the issues. No matter how you try to tell them that he is taking their money in a different way and will destroy the economy and their jobs along with it. A lot of people are fed up with politics and don’t believe any of the promises from Obama or Romney. When is the republican party going to get their act together?

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 9:07amIf I recall correctly, Rassmussen had the most accurate polls in 2008 (or was it 2010?). All but Rasmussen believe that there are far more Democrats than Republicans and that Obama has the lead, so they are skewing the polls into his favor. Rasmussen believes it’s the other way around.
It doesn’t really matter how anybody feels. No matter how you feel, there are are tens of millions of voters that you don’t know. What I mean is that if you’re from a rural town in the midwest, most of the people are going to feel like Romney is winning and if you’re from Chicago or Hollywood, you’re going to feel like Obama is winning. We all live within our microcosms of opinions. Personally, I don’t know anyone that is voting for Obama, but I know there are millions that will. Also, we know that dead people, illegals, and criminals vote heavily Democrat. This is probably why the Democrats don’t want voter ID laws and keep calling people who want them racists. ID laws = fewer Democrats = less voter fraud.

Yeah I think Romney is losing too…in opposite world. You got to remember 2 important factors in this race. First, the media may as well get a paycheck from the Obama reelection committee (as evident last week from the collapse of the Obama Doctrine and the comparative lynching of Romney). This is “padding” Obama’s numbers a great deal. Second, many voters will poll for Obama but will break for Romney at the last minute on election day. Remember, Carter was polling far better than Reagan (by like 10 points nationally) this time during that election.
Many voters are going to say to themselves, that even though they like Obama a lot and think how cool it would be to go to a basketball game with the guy, they are going to have that feeling out weighed by their fear over a flailing economy,

Stay positive and stay on track.. I have converted at 2 people who voted for Obama in 2008 to now vote for Romney.. in fact they have seen the light and are now on board with Conservative principles.. like small govt, low taxes/regulations.. and ending the fed.. If we all do our part.. just get one person who voted for Obama to see the light, it will be a landslide.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 9:21amAt a minimum we all need to commit to vote for Romney. Most companies allow you to take off work to vote so no excuses.
Also, remember that once we take back the White House, we will have a lot of work to do. Things you can do now:
1. Make 100% sure you are registered, you should have your card by now.
2. Contact your local Republican Party office and help out. Every hour you help will make a difference. Don’t say you don’t have time, make time, its your country.
3. Donate what you can, look at this Math:
For every dollar you have in savings, you should donate at least 10% and here is why.
If Obama wins, the dollar will weaken at historic rates, and the dollar you have in the bank if Obama wins may be worth as little as 50 cents in the next 4 years. So, invest 10% and even if the dollar stays where it is, your Net return on your investment will be 40%. Cant get that anywhere today.
Vote at a minimum, but also get involved!!!!

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 10:59amRomney isn’t losing. The MSM is skewing the polls to keep Romney voters especially independents from turning out. The CNN poll had independents favoring Romney by 14 points. Expect equal turnout of the base on both sides but it’s those independents that’s scaring the left and they will begin a big propaganda push from now to November to paint Romney as a loser with hit pieces like dissension inside the Romney political camp. And the timing of that story when Obama’s foreign policy is taking a hit is suspect as well. Even Panetta is wagging the dog with false claims about China and Japan hostilities to draw attention away from the middle east.
The people are seeing the Obama administration unravel right before the election. Bennie and the Feds pumping cash may create a short rally in the stock market but the common man is going to see the effects of it on their purchasing power between now and November with the drop in the dollar. Gasoline is going to move up along with heating oil and other commodities right before the election. Small businesses are going to feel the pinch and thus unemployment will remain steady if not increase. Bernanke is betting it all on his QE3 in hopes Obama will get elected and secure his job but it’s going to backfire with the voters. The only hope left for Obama is a propaganda push the likes we’ve never seen by the MSM. The BS coming out will be astounding as they drop media bombs all over the place to sow doubt.

Anybody with even a slight understanding of statistics knows that polls have to be drawn randomly to have any relevance. The clear cut indication that the underlying assertion in this report is complete BS is the identification of the Fox News poll, which we all know would never be skewed towards a democratic bias. And how would the author explain relative changes in all these same polls towards the PRESIDENT. No doubt be asserting that they are polling more democrats now. LOL. Obama will when the election.
——After Kasich did what? Get Ohio out of debt and honor the referendum wishes of the electorate concerning public unions? You money grubbers won that one, Jimmy Hoffa Jr. There are almost NO republicans voting Obama in any state. Most Republicans like America so they wouldn’t do that.

Most of these polls have margins of error at 3% or greater. That basically means they are useless for all but general trending.
Hopefully what this will mean is that those that don’t want to see Obama win, or that want to see the Romney/Ryan ticket win will get everyone out to the polls come election day. You cannot sit this one out, there is NOTHING more important than this election for the future of our nation. Get everyone you can to vote for Mr. Romney, even if you fear his religion, it cannot do the damage that a lame duck Obama can do.
Turn the polls against themselves and lay the media’s hypocrisy bare this election. It’s really the only choice we have, or risk it all. I guess that’s a choice too…

Further, when Romney does state policy people aren’t stupid enough to believe it. He’s going to increase defense spending, dramatically cut taxes AND balance the budget?

I don’t care that much for Romney…but he’s way way better than 4 more of Obama. I believe that come election day, even many Dems will vote against Obama. We’ll see on Nov 6th.
If Obama wins…there will be a major economy downturn. Folks are just waiting (Business Folks) for this election to be over before they decide any future decisions.
I believe that if Romney is elected…the economy will do a good turn around. However…the other side (Libs/Progressives/colored folks) will start a major riot/chaos…therefore negating any progress the good turnaround could have…

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 1:39pm@RFYCOM From the Mormon perspective (I am one) I can assure you Romney has said nothing nor by his actions indicated anything throughout his life in politics that he is looking at “advancing his Mormon religion”. We advance our religion by living it and being examples of the good that can come from it.
Don’t believe the overwhelming wave of media and polls trying to convince you Romney has no chance. They know, if they can do that, conservative voters will become defeatist and not show up at the polls.
This same thing has been going on in state elections where the Dems and the media have tried to show the conservative at in a “no win” position and then the conservative candidate smokes the Dem on election day because the hype simply doesn’t reflect reality.
DO NOT trash your vote and put Obama back in office for 4 more years by “voting your conscience” and giving it to a third party candidate with ZERO shot at the White House. A vote for a 3rd party in this election is the same as a vote for Obama. You can rationalize it any way you like but YOU will have helped him to a second term if you don’t vote for Romney.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 1:46pmI couldn’t disagree more. It feels like a blow out to me. You must be watching the MSM or something. Obama is screwing up almost daily. Only a small percentage of people are actually watching the MSM. They have proven time and time a gain that they are dishonest and most people are smart enough to realize that and just no longer watch it. 2010 was historic in the blow out. I think people are even more determined to get rid of the big Orwellian-liberal-progressive government. The silent majority has had it. Given all that I think it is plain a day that Romney is clearly Obama’s intellectual superior. It’s not even close. Obama graduated at the bottom of his class and has built NOTHING in life outside of government. AN anyone who is intelligent sees that. In our area there is a liberal talk show host that says ALL of his Democrat friends are “ashamed” they voted for such a pathetic president as Obama. You won’t hear that in MSM. And on another local talk show someone from the typically Democrat leaning VFW said that there are men that are life long Democrats and have never voted for anything but a Democrat will for the first time in their lives vote for a Republican. There is a real sentiment that Democrats are ashamed of having such a low life liar as their guy and they will either not turn out or vote the other way. It happened with Carter and Obama is so bad that he makes Carter look good by comparison. Obama is an epic failure and that is a fact and it is indisputable

Anyway, speaking of polls, did you realize that the countries who are our strongest allies – Britain, Germany etc. – can’t stand Romney? Not only do people in the US not like him, people across the world don’t like him.
“The German Marshall Fund think-tank’s annual Transatlantic Trends survey found that 82 per cent of European had a positive opinion of Obama, while less than a quarter had a favourable view of Romney. Asked directly who they would vote for if they could take part in the US elections, 75 per cent of European Union residents went for Obama and only 8 per cent for his opponent.”
I mean, I know they can’t vote but that’s pathetic.

I don’t see Romney trying to promote his religion at all; I do see the fine family and moral values he possesses, undoubtedly due in part to his religion, shining through. Ignoring me when I say “Hi” or “Good Morning”. And some hood lums have tried to break in a couple times.) I fear that I would be risking my home to property damage. I am voting for Romney not because I like him or trust him, but that he is the only one saying he will repeal the affordable care act. Which threatens to put my family’s business out of business. If Obama wins and the affordable care act doesn’t get repealled then our only option will be to raise our prices to cover overhead costs or close up shop and move. (not sure where… maybe a far island where people don’t think they have the right to my things). This will greatly threaten our ability to stay competive with the corporate businesses. I’ll probably have to put up a sign after becoming sick of explaining why our prices have jumped. The sign will say “You wanted Free healthcare and this is how you pay for it!” Only idiots vote on feelings. I on the other hand am voting on logic and rationalism. Your ignorance speaks loudly and belies the fact that you don’t actually follow Beck or know who he is at all.
As far as Romney goes, he’s doing just fine. Not only has he actually been ahead of Obama in real numbers, which Dick Morris has been consistent in making known, but he’s shown that he’s got the leadership and proper perspective this country needs to get back on track even as recently as this past weeks condemnation of the attacks on the US embassies and clear message that we do not appologize for having freedom of speech as a basic right of individuals in this country, something neither Obama, Hillary, or anyone in his administration has yet to figure out or to clearly state.

And you claim that Mr. Beck has stated that “Mormonism is superior”. I must have missed this as well. Can you provide several cited examples of this? I am aware that he has stated that being a member of the LDS Church is right for himself but I don’t recall he claiming his beliefs were superior to anyone. Was this ‘superiority’ that you believe he has spoken of over other religions? A specific religion? over political thought?
As for the poll question — “No” I don’t think the polls reflect the vast majority of Americans. Polls are distorted unless one has an objective desire. I once agreed to do a phone survey from a major university about taxes in my community. I answered about three minutes of questions and then I was asked if I was “Hispanic or Not”. I told the pollster “not” AND that was the end of the survey, she refused to ask me the taxation questions. She told me that they had enough of the ‘other people’ but needed Hispanic views in the survey. I was stunned at the biased survey — throwing out views which were not of the desired race. Next day I called the institution doing the survey and told them of my disgust at the survey.

If there was a weakness at the RNC it was a failure to pound AS A LIE the ancient Democratic mantra “Da Republicans are for da rich guys; da Democrats are da party of da little guy.” It is a lie, what the Democrats say.
One thing. Why do Republicans think they have to throw themselves on their swords for the millionaires? The millionaires don’t vote Republican–that’s why Carolyn Maloney, Nita Lowey, Tim Bishop, John Tierney, Jim Himes, Henry Waxman and Lois Capps are in Congress. Posted on September 17, 2012 at 5:50pmIt is later summer and the attention span of modern “polled sample” Americans is very short. Not everyone is interested in politics the way that perhaps posters here on both sides of the aisle might be. Romney is aware of that…..Obama has to keep spending money on ads to keep his mug in the public’s short lived campaign mode. In this day and age where cable news runs 24 hours a day seven days a week…..a national political candidate has to leverage time and money without suffering from the perception of public burnout…..that is why for example the mainstream media is trying their best to quash the mess in North Africa and sweep it under the Obama carpet…..but I bet you and I will see very soon……like a marathon runner…..that the Romney campaign will kick the pace up a couple notches…..and like successful marathon runners….will cross the finish line in first place. i am not sure what you meant by the Mormon comments in your post……that aspect of this race is a non sequitur…..which might explain the several “what are you talking about?” retorts to your post. Romney knows exactly what he is doing….he is no Bob Dole or John McCain. He is pacing himself just the way a National candidate must do…..when they are not in the pockets of the mainstream media……in fact the less you hear from Romney in the mainstream media…..the better he is really doing…..with or without Democratic Poll sampling errors.

What about the 2010 midterms when Republicans won from the House to dog catcher. The Democrats were kicked to the curb. Things have become worse for the American people. Do you think they were voting in 2010 to get rid of these freaks or do you think things have changed in Obama’s favor?

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 6:27pmNewsmax has an article that Romney’s all-important convention speech was thrown together at the last minute after Romney’s manager Stuart Steven’s threw out two other versions. I mean entirely. That’s why there was no mention of Afghan and the troops. In their haste, they “forgot.” Pat Caddell called this the worst campaign he’s ever heard of and that’s going some when you think about Dole’s (also run by Stevens) and McCain’s.
Romney seemed to do just fine when running against and attacking conervatives among his primary rivals but not so much against the inept far far Left Obama.
If Romney handles himself in the debates they way he did in his acceptance speech it’s all over and we are in for a perhaps irreparably diminished America, a crippled ineffectual welfare state apologizing for its very existence as we leave the worls stage to others. That the American sheeple don’t see this or don’t care as long as they get their free stuff (at the cost of their liberites) is a tragedy.
Maybe after four more years of the Manchurian candidtate, providence will send us a new Reagan. Or a second American Revolution.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 6:45pmYou may think you mean well, but you couldn’t be further off base. First, the democrats notoriously use every device, fraudulent or not, ethical or not, legal or not to get their candidate seated. They are typically dumbfounded by facts and the president’s failures, but that does not make any difference. The groups in question; black or white people on welfare and waiting for their free-ride to continue, illegal immigrants (typically uneducated, poor, minimal work skills, and latino), thick headed pseudo-intellects who favor socialism or communism, and unions. The polls are one of many false information bases used to influence people who are too naive or lazy to comprehend the past four years under a narcissistic autocrat. Your job? Vote for the person most likely to turn the economy around and start showing America as a major power, again. Romney is the only choice you can conclude.

I watched both conventions, GOP was positive,”we can do this” and truthful about having to make some hard choices to get us on track to succeed again. Dems were negative, attack, war on women, free stuff and everything that is wrong with GOP not what might be right about Dems. I heard a guy on the news yesterday say that the polls will be slanted until about 2 weeks before the election. Then the polls will suddenly change because the polling company want to be as accurate to the final election numbers as possible because if they are off by too much no one will hire them in the future. Right now all they are doing is trying to dampen the enthusiasm, which results in a drop of campaign contributions. I normally do not donate much but I think I will give $25 to Romney. Our gas is now four dollars where I live, we have high unemployment numerous fore closures oil is 4.00 a gallon here. What is it going to take for Americans to wake up? I worry about the stupidity of the people that are still supporting this incompetent boob. Seniors have no idea that as soon as Obama care kicks in they are all going on vouchers, no choice at all, and the ones who are already on medicare will be going on vouchers. Romney is letting the seniors stay and people under 54 will have two choices regular medicare or money to buy another insurance but that isn’t going to kick in for fifteen years. Something is wrong with this country if people can’t see what a disaster Obama has caused. Romney needs to get it together and start fighting back and make his platform clearer.

Gold can be bought at a certain price, but the return value is more because Gold prices are constantly going up so you get more of a return when you cash your Gold in. We used to have a Gold Standard and is what this Country was ran on until someone decided to get rid of it. Apparently you do not understand the value of Gold and how the Gold Standard we used to have was a better currency system than what we have now.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 7:34amI personally DO NOT believe in the polls. I cannot believe smart Americans will vote this loser into office again. This man goes to Las Vegas while the Middle East is burning. He is a loser not a leader of our great country. It is time for him to find him an acting job so I do not have to listen to him anymore… God Bless the USA…

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 7:42amThe people reflected in these polls have given up hope of seeing light at the end of the tunnel. They actually WANT a party and president in control who want to “take care of them” even if it means giving up their freedom and rights as Americans.
You can compare it to a woman who stays with a man who beats her up, because the alternative is living on the streets with her kids.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 7:46amBe afraid, be very afraid. If they were Smart Americans, we wouldn’t have this person in the White House now would we?
If we were smart Americans, there wouldn’t be a communist democratic party now would there?
If we were smart Americans, we wouldn’t have a Republican party that is almost as bad as the Democrat party, now would we?
If we were smart Americans, this nonsense would have stopped with Wilson being impeached, wouldn’t it?
But the truth is that most Americans can barely tie their shoes in the morning. Another truth is that the last time most Americans actually read a book was in school while most young Americans don’t even know who their states governor or the vice-president of this country is.
To say that Americans are politically naive is being very, very kind to the fools that are out there and actually vote.
So yes, do your best to educate these people even though it is worse than frustrating. We have to try because if Dear Leader wins or finds some what to not have this election, the American Experiment is over.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 7:32amThe Journalists Creed…written in 1914 by Walter Williams, founder of the Missouri School of Journalism. How many in journalism / media actually subscribe to this?
“I believe in the profession of journalism. I believe that the public journal is a public trust; that all connected with it are, to the full measure of their responsibility, trustees for the public; that acceptance of a lesser service than the public service is betrayal of this trust”.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 7:27amNot only to drive down enthusiasm but to feed the narrative that the election was stolen by depressing the vote with voter ID and the like. See every poll has Obama winning by 5-8 so when he loses by 9 that only can happen by cheating. Even if the election exit polls show it to be a R+5 election. The cries for stolen election would be 2000x worse than in 2000 Bush V Gore.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 7:46amThat’s a good point Tjex, I hadn’t thought of that. It feeds into the Soros strategy of creating doubt in the election system in order to provoke riots and anarchy.
At first I said F em, we’ll sweep them out anyway, but now I see how they(the media) could twist that to their advantage as well.
It’s dangerous to be right when the government is wrong!

How else would that explain the huge discrepancy in the outcome of the election from what was polling before the election”. You know the topic will be beaten to death, resurrected, and beaten to death again, and again……

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 7:23amThe main stream media are the enemy of the people and can’t be believed. Ignore them. Without a doubt there are white Americans who have been labelled racist if you don’t love Obama and will not give their true feelings to a stranger in a telephone poll, but in the privacy of a polling booth will not vote for the ruination of their country for their children by voting for Obama again. It’s been said many times, but it’s true…..many whites voted for Obama in 2008 to prove they aren’t a racist but will vote against Obama in 2012 to prove they aren’t a moron.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 7:15amAlso part of the reason might be everytime I get an automated survey, I tell them I am going to vote for Obama. Also that I am a hispanic or black, male or female, none of which is true. IMHO, let him stay ahead in the polls, people will feel he is doing fine and is for sure to win, they will feel less pushed to get out and vote for him.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 8:19amCountrygirl: I get polled constantly and I don’t think it is random. I am a “likely voter” for a number of reason, including geographic. Like you, I tell them just the opposite of how I am going to vote, give them a different age group, etc. Just like the mainstream media, these polls are rigged and end up being wrong much of the time. Both Dems and Republicans do their own private polling and use their own focus groups so don’t depend on the commercial polls. Go to Freedom Works and get involved, even if it is just tweeting articles favorable to Romney.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 9:44amThere are some in the Libertarian / Constitutionalist camp that are voting for Obama. I believe they’re the minority, but they feel that both candidates are the same and they’re either worried about Romney’s foreign policy, or they just want to punish the GOP for the flim flam from primaries/convention. I personally can’t see how anyone can vote for either of the two. I’m stuck between not voting, writing in Paul or voting Gary Johnson.

Posted on September 17, 2012 at 7:05amI don’t know who they are sampling, but I have never in my 44+ years of being able to vote been “sampled,” and I’ve lived in a large eastern city area, and in rural upstate New York for over twenty-four years now. I do not vote the “NY Democrat” way, so when they are assuming that NY is Democrat, they do not understand how many of us outside of NYC are not!
I do believe that the “pushing of Obama” in this election may backfire for them! Many are not discouraged by these poles, but rather driven to be MORE LIKELY to participate in the election, because we realized we must defeat this administration!
I also wonder how many people are answering FOR the Democrat stand just to skew the poles, but will vote Republican in the end. Those for whom I worry most are the “third party candidate” spoilers who WILL NOT UNDERSTAND that by using their vote in this way, may elect the person they DO NOT WANT TO WIN, instead of the better choice. Oh well, some will go to their grave standing so firmly on superficial principles that they will go there early.
I never thought I’d say this, but I understand the importance: Romney/Ryan 2012!
