Wilkow Gives Romney Campaign Advice on Handling ’47 Percent’ Remarks: ‘Own It & Run With It Unapologetically’
During his show on TheBlazeTV on Tuesday, host Andrew Wilkow offered GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney and his campaign some free advice on how to deal with the controversy surrounding Romney’s recent comments about the “47 percent” of people he says will vote for Obama because they believe in government entitlements.
Wilkow called it the “best scandal ever” for Romney to get caught in.
“He was captured on tape speaking the absolute truth about the welfare state. If his campaign doesn’t own it and run with it apologetically, they should all be fired,” he said.
The host added that Romney sounded like any normal taxpayer who is frustrated with the welfare state and big government policies.

Posted on September 19, 2012 at 9:19amWhat would Reagan have said about this?
President Ronald Reagan called the EITC “the best antipoverty, the best pro-family, the best job creation measure to come out of Congress.”
And why do so many of these people not have to pay income tax? That’s right, because of the Earned Income Tax Credit. Makes you think doesn’t it.

I will cut him some slack -even if he meant ‘their votes’ it was not a good

And I do not believe the votes thing.

Posted on September 19, 2012 at 9:15amDid you listen closely to what Romney said?? No you seem to have made up your mind that he does not care about all americans. Fact: 47 percent do not pay taxes. You have payroll taxes deducted from your check but @the end of the year you either get all of it or qualify for earned income credit. (You can thank the republicans for the earned income credit passed in the 80′s.) for you to say that he does not care that is not what he said. My children are now adults & I file single & I pay through the nose in federal taxes and make under 45K a yr. So what’s your point??

Actually, after listening to the full quoteation, it sounds like omney said that his message of cutting taxes (which benefits everybody) falls of deaf ears, so to enact the policies which benefit all people, he has to focus on those voters he can convince so that he can win.
Sounds like he is for all people.

Posted on September 19, 2012 at 7:23amMy liberal aunt was really happy to post that on her face book page….being outraged by it. My uncle is a doctor, to they’re not part of that 47%. You can’t have it both ways….she was also outraged that Romney paid no less than 15% taxes his whole life, stating (incorrectly I might add) that she never paid less than 35%. She never did comment on my post that Biden thinks people who make $200,000 a year are rich and therefor by extending that logic shoul be taxed more. 47% DO get all of their taxes back, never pay taxes or get back even more than they put in.

Posted on September 19, 2012 at 12:49amThis is Romney’s “Reagan Moment” — Reagan ignored his handlers and the GOP and said the truth and wasn’t afraid or apologetic about it. Romney’s statements were strong, bold and great and I hope to hear more in your face out in the open truth from him. His comments on the 47% – how is that much more different than Obama’s latino speech where he called republicans, conservatives and the tea-party “OUR ENEMIES” What US President calls US Citizens “enemies ?!?!?!” That is a true showing of devisiveness, Romney spoke the truth, it was great !!!
Same with Palestine, just like Reagan who called the Soviet Empire Evil…. Romney should directly call out the Palestinians not wanting piece, they want to slice and dice up Israel and eventually eliminate it, that is NOT peace.
So I want to hear more boldness from Romney !!!

Posted on September 19, 2012 at 12:36amWhen bho can only comeback with “My expectation is that if you want to be president, you have to work for everyone, not just for some,” anyone with intelligence knows he has failed even that since he only helps the muslims who hate us, or the permanent gov’t leeches who want obumbler to keep providing for them from “his” stash!
His agenda is to break the back of America and put us all on the gov’t dole, living in small confinements, and confiscating all property throughout the nation. The wealthy will leave the country as they are doing in France, while this thug will have to keep printing phoney money for him and his elite thiefs to live high on the hog since there will be fewer taxes paid to the gov’t coffers.
Evenutally, all he has wrought will come crashing down…may the Lord open up the earth and swallow the evil doers directly into the pit alive as done to Korah’s people (NUM 16).

Posted on September 19, 2012 at 12:05amWhat Obama said is true. That is why the Democrats wll cheat this election if there is any way they can. The leftist media has convinced most of the public who are not reached by the truth. The thing is that most of them may not vote. We have hope, but The Obamaites will vote for them. They will cheat this elections and Obama is not eligible to even be on the ballot. Eleven states are trying to get Obama off the ballot because of this. That governor in Arizona is not one of them. You would think she would be, but she is siding with her buddy Napolitano.

Posted on September 19, 2012 at 12:04amThe ironic thing is,I dont think Romney even beieves what he said…He just said it because he thought thats what the doners present wanted to hear…..Out of the 47% paying no taxes, only about 25% want a free ride, the others are trapped in Obama’s economy….the other 25% not supporting Romney actually pay taxes but they include people who suffer from either white guilt or believe a declining America leads to a more just world…Romney needs to clarify that alot of people paying no taxes do actually want to pay taxes……They want a job…..Romney must acknowledge that and promise to get them working after he’s elected President.

It’s actually only about 6% that want a free ride. The rest of the 41% are either seniors, the disabled, students, long-term unemployed still looking for work, the working poor, etc. The majority aren’t in it for the free ride, and the majority still pay lots of federal, state and local taxes, just not income tax. Romney lumped all of the 47% into the lazy, not-taking-responsibility-for-their-lives category. He owns his words now.

Posted on September 18, 2012 at 11:57pm“According to the Tax Policy Center, nearly two-thirds of households that paid no income tax did pay payroll taxes. Which means they are working and are not, in fact, “dependent on government”. And of the small number of households that didn’t pay either, more than half were elderly.
It’s also worth mentioning another group of people who don’t pay federal income tax and who Romney thinks are “dependent upon government” for their health care, food and housing: members of the military currently deployed in a combat zone like Afghanistan.”

Posted on September 19, 2012 at 12:41amAnd don’t forget the elderly. They make up ten percent of the total voters and at least twenty percent of the people who don’t pay taxes, and they tend to vote red. The idea that the 47% that don’t pay federal income taxes are identical with the 47% who wouldn’t be caught dead voting Republican is just so insultingly stupid that a child could figure out that it can’t be true. And of course, we still don’t know whether Mitt Romney was paying any income taxes before he decided to run for President again.
