‘Real News From The Blaze’: Fast and Furious Report Released
A major news break came Wednesday in the Justice Department internal investigation of the agency’s role in the botched gun-trafficking operation Fast and Furious, as a report from the internal watchdog cleared Attorney General Eric Holder of having prior knowledge of or condoning the operation, while faulting 14 other federal law enforcement officials for creating a “significant danger to public safetey” under the program.
Two senior officials left the department, one by resignation and one by retirement, upon the report’s release. The Blaze reports:
In the 471-page report, Inspector General Michael Horowitz referred more than a dozen people for possible department disciplinary action for their roles in Operation Fast and Furious and a separate, earlier probe known as Wide Receiver, undertaken during the George W. Bush administration.
The report did not criticize Attorney General Eric Holder, but said lower-level officials should have briefed him about the investigation much earlier.
Holder had faced intense scrutiny and suspicion during the 18-month investigation from Republican lawmakers, who had led a House vote that found the Attorney General in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over documents tied to the botched operation.
“Real News From The Blaze” opened up Wednesday on the report, discussed what it means for Holder, and debated where the Fast & Furious investigation will now go moving forward. Watch a clip below with guest Hans von Spakovsky, a former Justice Department counsel:

Posted on September 20, 2012 at 12:23pmWhatever happened to the concept, “The Buck Stops Here”? Holder, at a minimum, has proven that he is incompetent to run the Department of Justice and should be given his walking papers. His actions or inactions have resulted in the deaths of at least two Border Patrol agents and hundreds of Mexican citizens, and that is a sad disgrace and a blot upon our national honor.

Posted on September 19, 2012 at 11:59pmNo one has told us the US Government’s reason for selling these guns fast and furiously to a drug cartel, have they, really? Maybe they were trying to use one drug cartel to fight against the other escorting Hezbollah into our country and training with them there for possible attack on US soil? DId Glenn mention that possibility today the war might cross the U.S. border when chaos breaks out? Maybe they were aiding and abetting one cartel to stop others in bed with our enemies or keep the fighting there? Maybe it didn’t go “terribly”wrong? What was the real purpose?

Posted on September 20, 2012 at 9:40amNo one has told us why the US government was selling guns to a Mexican drug cartel because that is NOT in fact what Fast and Furious was doing. It was attempting to track guns that were purchased quite legally, but with large amounts of cash, from licensed gun dealers in the Phoenix area. One rogue ATF agent actually did sell guns, but he was trying to undercut his superiors, not doing their bidding.

Posted on September 20, 2012 at 6:59amAlready, they’re starting to ‘retire’ and resign. We need to keep tabs on where THEY are. It could be useful info later for their trials. Let’s give Silent John a chance to use that big ol’ gavel.
