Mystery: Declassified Document Shows the U.S. ‘Stockpiling’ a Secret Weapon in 1981, But What Is It?

A document declassified in the last few years is getting now getting attention for showing that the National Security Council under former President Ronald Reagan authorized stockpiling of a certain weapon. One item in the memo that was not declassified though is just what weapon the National Security Decision Directive (NSDD) 7 was allowed to load up on.

The Federation of American Scientists is bringing attention to this document called “Production of [Deleted] Weapons, 1981,” which was partially declassified in 2008, and even offers some speculation as to what would fit into the brackets.

The document itself states:

“The production and stockpiling of [deleted] weapons is authorized with stockpiling being restricted to the United States [deleted].”

FAS Speculates Redacted Weapon in Declassified 1981 Document Is Enhanced Radiation Weapons

(Image via UTexas.edu)

Hans Kristensen with FAS is reported as speculating the redacted term is “enhanced radiation.” Why? Not only does FAS point out that two enhanced radiation weapons began production in 1981 — the W70 (Lance warhead) and the W79 (artillery shell) — but it also notes when former President George Bush declassified the title of the NSDD7 in 1996, “enhanced radiation weapons” was left unredacted.

If this stockpile does in fact indicate enhanced radiation weapons, what does this mean? This is another term for the weapon of mass destruction known as a neutron bomb. According to Global Security, a neutron bomb would have a total energy that was 30 percent blast, 20 percent thermal and 50 percent nuclear radiation. “Thus, a 3-kiloton ER weapon will produce the nuclear radiation of a 10-kiloton fission weapon and the blast and thermal radiation of a 1-kiloton fission device,” Global Security writes.

A study published by the National Institute of Health a couple years ago stated that the purpose of a neutron bomb, compared to other nuclear weapons, is to “enhance radiation casualties while reducing blast and thermal damage to the infrastructure.”

The study states that since the Cold War, there have been no threats for use of such a weapon. Still, given that five nations were reported to have developed enhanced radiation weapons at the time, the report recommends medical personnel know the difference in health implications compared to a fission weapon.

Here is a look at the one-page document:

Everyone here is completely naive and incapable of figuring out the obvious. The answer is obvious and no one has figured it out yet. The United States did extensive experiments back in the eighties and maintained a stockpile of nearly a dozen Enhanced Kardashian weapons to this day. There were agreements with Russia that we would limit the amount of Kardashians readily available in our stockpiles. The Russians are as afraid of the Kardashians use as much as we are.

Ah good point, the Safeguard system of the ’70′s used Enhanced Radiation Warheads on the Spartan and Sprint ABM missiles. When the Safeguard sites were deactivated they had to stockpile (store) upwards of 90 or so ER Warheads.

They have a couple beside HARRP. which can cause some to heart attacks. Another one just causes the skin a strong heat reaction which makes even those who knew before the test what it was going to be like and they said that the only thing they wanted to do was get as far away from the weapon as soon as possible.

Our gov’t “hides” a lot from us and will con’t to do so until SHTF. By then, it will be too late for most people who bury their heads in the sand, calling people like Beck a “fear monger.” We have Obama telling the entire world that we will be destroying our nuclear weapons. If Obama doesn’t know what the debt is as stated on Letterman, we’re in serious trouble. This administration is corrupt. Obama has Islamic Brotherhood in his administration. Just who is Obama getting his information from, if he’s not attending crucial briefings? Makes you wonder what he IS doing, doesn’t it?

Maybe it’s nutron bombs. The US built 6 of them. We later entered into an agreement with the USSR not to make any more bombs. Clearification, the radiation that is used to kill is only a momentary radiation. It does not linger.

If this is tied to nutron bombs, then I suspect it is stockpiling of the components and marterials to build more bombs when needed, quickly.

      From the web:
But Cohen promoted his weapon relentlessly through his work at RAND, and continued once he was forced into an early retirement from the think tank in 1969, after his superiors grew annoyed with his incessant attempts to bring nuclear weapons to the battlefield. Only in 1981 did Reagan take Cohen on as a policy adviser early in his presidency and agree to develop 700 neutron bombs. But, according to Cohen’s memoir, they were designed in such a way that they undermined his purpose, exploding close enough to the ground to cause more damage than he intended. The weapon was never integrated into America’s arsenal and was eventually scraped completely by George H.W. Bush. By then, Cohen had retired.

THIS IS AWESOME!! Neutron Bombs are the ultimate weapon..all organic life goes away…people, plants, animals, insects…complete localized annihilation…EMP takes out all electrical devices and machines in the surrounding area…you wait 2-3 weeks instead of 2-3 decades and you can move your army into a completely build fortification, town, or city…rebuild the power plants, move in the maachinery, and POOF…instant population center…

they are a great way to demoralize an opponent without destroying the culture, architecture, or infrastructure of the country or territory you wish to invade and conquer. Then you can just absorb the region into your own country and expand your borders and not have all the complications of rebuilding a society, you just have to move in the population to house and work in the existing infrastructure…

PERFECT weapon for those that wish to reclaim territory they say was stolen from them or belonged to them before a treaty or war that caused them to lose it..

    UTTERLY EXCELLENT….I want one…

I’ve felt for a long time that almost the entire globe thinks Americans have obtained our wealth from them and that we OWE them what was stolen (my God, there are a lot of U.S. citizens that feel that way). I’ve also been wondering when and how we are to “pay up”. Also, talk about genocide (think Hitler only no bodies to clean up)…who do these people think they are? Or to reconquer territory that you lost to invaders. The people most affected by this would have been the Germans followed by people in the low countries & maybe France.

I think potential German refugees would much rather move back home after 2 or 3 years than 2 or 3 decades.

Of course the least costly option is to have enough of a military that aggressors don’t consider invading.

The Soviet Union invaded Hungary, East Germany & Czechoslovakia. Those neutron bombs were meant for the Soviet aggressors as most of us know.

Giddy. Yes, certainly. If someone wrongs you (like invading your country), you want to see them die.
Better yet I would rather see the old men die instead of conscripted young men. But we are told by liberals that assassinating old men, who force or propagandize young men into doing battle is wrong.

I have relatives on 3 continents. I don’t want a war. But sometimes war is better than a bad peace. Like when your country is invaded. You can capitulate & have peace again the very next day. Would it be worth it?

Gee, do you hate Europeans. I must assume that you hate Europeans or that you are not thinking this thru.

If the Soviet Union comes through Fulda Gap & across the Northern European plain where they had advantages in number of tanks, artillery & planes, etc. , chances are not good that you will stop them with conventional forces.
If you use conventional nukes because conventional forces are not enough, you don’t want to obliterate all the cities (housing stock & other facilities) that refugees need when the came back.

Neutron bombs are better for civilian that flee their homes in advance of an invading army. It is not friendly to an invading army. Do you want to be FRIENDLY to an invading army?

Did the Soviets have provocateurs in the Nuclear Freeze movement?

At this stage in our history there is not much homeland left to fight for. I see a further Balkanization of this nation only hastened by war, regional conflicts or world war. The United States is anything BUT united and with liberalism/marxism/socialism/globalist one world government mentalities and beliefs trumping traditional american values, don’t count on too many “patriotic americans” showing up to defend the millions of regulations and trillions in debt that this country now represents. The future is indeed grim and if we continue down this path (as all indicators are pointing) the good old USA will be reduced to several regions of concentrated populations of like minded people, or one huge FEMA camp held at gun point.

At the time of it’s design the Cold War was in full swing, and seemed like it might just spill over into a full war first rolling into Germany. The weapon could be used to annihilate a massive attacking force, then the refugees from that area could move back in within a short time. The design originally was defensive in nature. I remember getting my first briefings on the weapon while sitting in the Fulda Gap in the early ’80s.

The point of the Iran Arm sales wast two fold.

The 1st was to get money to get around defeatist, leftists Congress & defeat Communist hegemony.
1979 was the high water mark of Communism. If you look at the Soviet union & its allies the map was very red.

The 2nd was to stalemate the Iran-Iraq War. That meant to make sure neither side won.

Let’s consider the 2nd point is the newby troll (Member Since: August 16, 2012) going to argue an Iranian victory over Iraq would be in the best interest of Saudi Arabia, Europe, U.S., Japan, or many other countries?

Step 1 install Shiite government on Iraq.
Step 2 Lean on Syria if necessary.
Step 3 link up Iran, Iraq, Syria (current Iranian ally) & Lebanon (Hezbollah)
      Step 4 Attack Israel
Step 5 lean on Jordan & Saudi Arabia
Step 6 Control all Middle East oil
Step 7 Eff’n troll does not have computer or the money or the time to troll.

An Iraqi hegemony would be no better.

Saudi Arabia & Kuwait were afraid of Iranian hegemony. They supported Iraq & not because they thought the Iraqi cause was good, but because they were afraid of Iran. Would their support been enough top keep Iraq from collapsing?

A lowered frequency version of this Technology is used by every Gas and Oil company in the world to “vibrate” substrate to interrogate it for gas pockets, oil or coal or whatever there looking for. Nicola Tesla was the father of this technology but our DOD et al has versions of it that will project a vibration miles beneath the surface and can slip fault plates at will, just add a sattelite and a little power.

If there is intelligent life on other planets, there will most likely be a co petition for resources & all that entails.

Any life that has a REPLICATION CODE at the chemical level (RNA DNA et al) most likely will have a self preservation routines in the brains/ neural network. Those same routines will figure “If I take their sh/t, I will live.” And at times those same routines will tell them “If I take their stuff, I will thrive”
There are different studies or books that show this from the Vikings to the Mongols (pre-Genghis).

There was much discussion back then about the “Neutron Bomb”. It does little damage to the infrastructure but kills people with intense neutron exposure. Does such a device exist? I don’t know but if it does, maybe one well placed shot over Tehran might solve a lot of problems.

Zech chapter 14, verse 12 sure sounds like a neutron bomb explosion.

Zech 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

Enhanced radiological weapons can mean one of two things: neutron bomb, or a special purpose EMP weapons system. I figure the neutron bomb is more likely.

I think that they are stockpiling weaponized spam and other pork products. Now is the time to break out the bacon bombs.
