Texas Homeowner Hangs Empty Chair Representing Obama in Front Yard — And We Talked to Him

A Texas man hung an empty chair from a tree in his front yard in a display he said was meant to represent President Barack Obama.
A man who identified himself over the phone as Bud Johnson of Austin, Texas confirmed to TheBlaze he was the homeowner written up in a Texas political blog who “lynched” an empty chair as a presidential effigy. Burnt Orange Report on Wednesday posted a photo of the folding chair hanging by a rope from a tree branch.
“It is and I put it there,” Johnson told TheBlaze, confirming the photo and that he was the one who put the chair up. “I don’t support Obama and the empty chair and that’s why.”
Johnson, who said he is a Republican, said the display was a reference to actor Clint Eastwood’s “empty chair” routine at the Republican National Convention last month.
Asked about the racial connotations of hanging something meant to represent the president, Johnson responded, “I don’t really care.”
Asked how long the display had been up, Johnson replied, “None of your business,” but said it was still there and that he plans to keep it up.
Johnson said he had received no complaints about the display from his neighbors.
As Burnt Orange Report noted, Johnson was a homeowner’s association “Yard of the Month” winner in August 2010.

Is this manβs actions βinsensitiveβ to more recent history of black lynchingβs? Yes, but to assume that that a βlynchingβ and not western justice was his message is due to your social bias, seeing a white hood behind every tree and rock, and not necessarily his.

Posted on September 20, 2012 at 1:24pmDid you also know that Lyndon B. Johnson, the racist democrat, was quoted as saying “I’ll have those n*****s voting Democrat for the next 200 years!” in reference to The Great Society?
Looks like that racist democrat knew black people better than 95% of them know themselves. If I were black, I would hope that I would be among the 5% who honor the truth in MLK’s dream, and not among the 95% who choose to put on the yoke and pull LBJ’s plow.
It’s hard to blame a group of victims for being victimized and deceived, but when they absolutely refuse to hear the truth behind the lie and choose instead to continue being victims through willful ignorance of that truth, it becomes easier and easier.
If there were more honesty in names, The Great Society would be called The Rebuilt Plantation.

Posted on September 20, 2012 at 2:06pmThe Blaze didn’t give this story justice. You ought to follow the link. Here’s part…
——
We have a sad and awful history of white people lynching African-Americans in Texas, and this history is exactly what this Republican’s front yard display taps into…
This is the specific and deliberate use of a racially charged act of violence — lynching — perpetrated by white men against African-American men and women. When you add a Republican symbol for the first African-American President into the mix, you get a pretty awful picture — the one you see at right, and one that can be seen on a front lawn here in leafy, quiet Northwest Austin.
We’re a state that has a horrific history of hate crimes, and given the new context of the “empty chair” created by the Republican Party during their own convention gives this image of a chair hanging from a tree a decidedly sinister, and yes, racist, meaning.
Updated 6:28 p.m. Wednesday I called the homeowner to ask about his display, citing my concerns as a fellow Austinite. He replied, and I quote, “I don’t really give a damn whether it disturbs you or not. You can take [your concerns] and go straight to hell and take Obama with you. I don’t give a ****. If you don’t like it, don’t come down my street.”

Posted on September 20, 2012 at 2:47pmJZS I live Northwest of Austin in the Hill Country, I know the history actually quite well, since there was a group of skinheads a few miles away from me who held some people hostage a couple of years back. Does racism exist yet today? Yep. So does extremism on both ends of every issue; Environmentalism, anti-war movements, smaller government movements, larger government movements, religion, race, gender….the vast majority of people are somewhere in the middle which would mean that the extremes are a rarity and not the norm. Because you recycle does not mean you are going into the Discovery Channel and shoot people over your perception that they are not doing enough to support global warming theory.
The same goes for this case. Because this guy is a southerner, a republican and our president happens to be black, does not mean that he is a “racist” in his message.
Bush was never strung up in effigy by democrats? Never a disparaging word from democrats uttered about Justice Thomas, Herman Cain, Allen West, Condi Rice, Macro Rubio?
Racists do exist, but your own bias’ tend to get inserted into making judgments regarding other people’s motives. I think this guy, like many of us has just had enough. Enough of the PC crap, the accusations, the shredding of the Constitution, the aversion of eyes and enbrace of the radical muslims culture, while being told himself that his opinion is “dangerous”.

Oh well, anyway, Johnson pushed the legislation through congress but he didn’t agree with it. ALL the democrats including Al Gores dad and Senator Byrd were adamantly opposed to it. As were all the democrat governors in the south. (Wallace, Barnett…) The Democrats used to call it the “Solid South” because they could always count on those electoral votes as long as they opposed civil rights. Johnson even made derogatory comments about MLK during the whole process, neither Johnson or either of the Kennedy brothers liked MLK. It was the Republicans that forced the civil rights legislation through and Johnson signed it.

That made LBJ so popular with Democrats that he was elected to be Vice President in 1960. A little hypocritical racism and political hockey seemed to work in 1960 (as now) for the DemocRATs. Posted on September 20, 2012 at 12:44pmIn Chicago, a purported gay lover of Gaybama’s, Donald Young, was murdered before blowing the whistle on Gaybama. Gaybama is alleged to have been a member of Chicago gay club, Man’s Country. http://fellowshipofminds.wordpress.com/2010/07/25/mom-of-murdered-obama-gay-lover-speaks-up/
Gaybama HAD to know of Fast and Furious – the recent claims that he doesn’t attend National Security briefings are false, or efforts would have been started to remove him from office. Border Patrol Agent Bryan Terry had 2 (TWO) Fast and Furious guns abandoned with his body. Why? Were they planted, so as to allow Gaybama’s administration to claim that US guns had been used in Terry’s murder, so as to set up a national “crisis”, the kind that his administration doesn’t allow to go to waste, in order to force passage of more anti-2nd Amendment laws?
Gaybama KNEW in advance of the terrorist plot against the US Ambassador in Libya. Valerie Jarrett has 5 secret service agents protecting her, but the Ambassador to Libya had NONE assigned to him. The two SEALS that died with him had VOLUNTEERED to protect him. Was Gaybama in on a plot to set him up to create an international “crisis”, the kind that his administration doesn’t allow to go to waste?
Does anyone else notice a pattern here?

Perhaps you might think about learning the history of the racist party that you, not unlike a slave, continue to support. A republican president named Abraham Lincoln freed the blacks in America from slavery 150 years ago, and it amazes me that in that amount of time a full 96% of their progeny have returned to the plantation to serve their masters in the DNC.
Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, the SPLC, the NAACP are ALL “overseers” on the DNC plantation. They get paid to keep their people in chains, and 96% of the black population can’t wait to get down on bended knee for them and their masters.
The ignorance of the people who play the race card against Republicans and white Americans, who want nothing more than for EVERY American to be free, is absolutely astounding. They call free men like Allen West and Herman, who wish nothing more than to remove the chains from their brethren, Uncle Toms and race traitors. Meanwhile, this 96% rush to the ballot box to make sure to empower racists and deceivers, the REAL race traitors.
Educate yourself, Nevermind! Recognize truth, and stop rushing to believe the lie. When you see the light, share it with your brothers and sisters, even if they call you an Uncle Tom, because freedom requires sacrifice and slavery only requires obedience to your master.

Posted on September 20, 2012 at 1:24pmNevermind, you obviously didn’t do well in History or English class. So, let’s look at the history of the Democrat Party. Oct. 13th, 1858 The Lincoln-Douglas Debates, US Senator Steven Douglas (D-IL) states “I do not regard the N egro as my equal and positively deny that he is my brother, or any kin to me whatever” Douglas became the Democratic Party Presidential nominee for 1860. The last time I looked Illinois isn’t “southern”. April 16th 1862, Lincoln signed a bill abolishing slavery in the District of Columbia; in Congress 99% of Republicans vote for, 83% of Democrats vote no.
On July 17th 1862, over unanimous Democrat oppisition, Republican Congress passed the Confiscation Act granting freedom to any Confederate slave. April 9th,1866, Republican Congress overrides Democrat President Johnsons’ veto of the Civil Rights Act 1866. June 8th 1866, the 14th amendment was passed with 100% of Democrats voting no.
So let’s jump to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Democrat Sen. Robert Byrd fillabustered for 14 hours. Republicans again pass what is necessary with Democrat help. There is no difference made by the Mason Dixon line when it comes to the truth or racism. The first Republican Party Convention of Texas was 150 blacks and 20 whites. The fact is, 90% of Republicans in the south, were black.
The nonsense you’re telling has been the biggest spin of the truth ever placed upon man. I will give the Democrats that, they are excellent liars.

Posted on September 20, 2012 at 12:20pmJust wait, tomorrow the brainless community association will send the homeowner a letter warning they cannot put an empty seat in their property. Just wait….
If that happens, the homeowner just need to set up a whole dinning set for the empty cabinet.

Then if please God Romney wins, he could say, “guess we can cut him loose now”–and post the cutting down for You Tube.

Posted on September 20, 2012 at 12:24pmI never met a racist that wasn’t a democrat. They fake a smile among the blacks but work diligently to keep them tied up in project housing, stoned and angry. I met very few blacks who were not racist toward white people. Whites are not the ones that are constantly perpetrating crimes on blacks and blacks are not being threatened by white organizations calling for the killing of their babies. ‘Nevermind’ is wrong and biased him/her self.

And by the way, the Civil Rights movement was forwarded and progressed by the Republicans despite Democrat interference. May want to remember that the next time you spout your prejudiced nonsense moron.

Posted on September 20, 2012 at 12:51pmThen you better check your history…racists have always been Democrats. Start with the KKK, founded by Democrats, initially to go after Republicans who supported ending slavery. When that didn’t work, the KKK/Dems starting lynching and harming the blacks themselves. Do you own homework, lemming – check the Congressional records for the abolishionist votes through the 1800s – Dems 100% (yes, 100%!) against freeing blacks, Repubs 100% for. An earlier writer was correct – Dems smile at the blacks and nod as if they’re with them, but hold them back and subjugate them every chance they get.

Really? So do like go up and as for a voter id card after you’ve been verbally assaulted? “Hey random person that I overheard say the N word, do you mind if I get your political affiliation? That’d be swell.” To quote William Blake, “To generalize is to be an idiot.”
