Conservative radio show host Mike Gallagher on Friday said Facebook refused to sell advertising space for his new book because the title “50 Things Liberals Love to Hate” contains the word “hate.”
“I found out yesterday that Facebook rejected an ad for my book,” Gallagher said on Fox News. “My publisher Simon & Schuster and I were going to put banner ads on Facebook, and Facebook literally told the publisher, ‘we won’t accept the ad because it has the word hate in the title.’”
Gallagher said his publisher asked the social media giant whether having the word “hate” would disqualify any book for advertisement, such as one titled, “I hate broccoli.”
“Then Facebook conceded, ‘well we’ve gotten some complaints from people who don’t like the title of Mike Gallagher’s new book,” Gallagher said.
Referring to Facebook as a “machine,” Gallagher said the site “allows pedophiles to troll the Internet” and has “defended perverts and stalkers” He subsequently posted a link on his Facebook page to a New York Post article from August about the site’s refusal to remove a “Pedophiles are people too” page.
“Free speech?” Gallagher said on Fox. “I don’t think so. … They don’t like a conservative buying time, they won’t take my money, it’s unbelievable.”
Facebook did not immediately comment to TheBlaze Friday afternoon.

Your quote: “Anybody buying this guy’s book is buying something written by someone that knows less about the subject then they do.” not only is factually incorrect, but not surprisingly, grammatically incorrect as well. Liberals, like the Facebook staff, are just not brave enough to read his book; and like the good little Marxists they are, are trying to force its suppression.

Sep. 22, 2012 at 10:38amProgressive Fascist?” You don’t know history or politics at all, do you? Gallagher is on the far right. He is not a liberal. Lesson 1: Muslims can’t be leftists. Lesson 2. Progressives and Liberals are on the left side of the political spectrum. Fascists are on the right. So that means that the Blaze’s far right politics are more closely aligned with fascism than Progressives are.

Hint: Websters definition of facism:a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

First, I would like to agree with everyone that ALL PRO’s label “progressive fascist” is an oxymoron. If it was a typo, then I wager that typo was done “accidentally on purpose” so to speak. The post is too close to being a conscientious attempt at associating the toxic label (popularized by Glenn Beck no less) “progressive” with the Left’s favorite label (commonly used by neo-commies to destroy anyone who even simply disagrees with them) “fascist” for my comfort level. Never mind that ALL PRO was openly associating “fascist” with the author of whom I myself have never before heard. Kudos to those Blazers who called ALL PRO out on that.
Second, the political spectrum is total government control on the right, total government control on the left, and LIBERTY in the MIDDLE. Those who seek power always seek TOTAL POWER. The path to TOTAL POWER is immaterial to leadership. YOU ALL KNOW THAT. If you actually don’t know that, then THINK ABOUT IT. Ever wonder why true libertarians hate BOTH right and left?

All Pro, I don’t think you are being accurate with this statement. Gallagher does lean Progressive to the extent that he supports the establishment Republican Party and their candidates and the Republican Party is Progressive. But, that is where his bread is buttered so to speak. He is not, however, a fascist.
He is just one more in a long line of “conservative” pundits and talk show hosts who are willing to ignore Constitutional limitations to advance their respective careers by endorsing whatever Republican candidate they are presented with.
Others of the same ilk are Rush Limbaugh, Neil Boortz, Sean Hannity, Dick Morris, Bill O’Reilley, Glenn Beck, and many others. Two of those I named, Boortz and Beck, actually self describe from time to time as libertarian! Ha! Their willingness to sell out Constitutional fidelity for the sakes of their careers is unseemly in my book. But that does not make them fascists. If anything they are simply unprincipled capitalists. Peace.

Sep. 23, 2012 at 2:53amI don’t agree Gallagher is a progressive fascist. He may not be as conservative as I would like but I wouldn’t go so far as to call him progressive. What really got me is the comment from USETP2WIPE. I swear, liberalism is the last bastion for morons. Since when, if ever, was fascism a right wing movement. Let’s review the big fascist movements. Nazis. I believe the official name of the party was National Socialists. Not National Capitalists. Nazism is left wing movement. They controlled everything. Nationalized industries, controlled the news and punished dissent. Sound familiar? GM, Stop Beck, Boycott Fox, Fairness doctrine. The other big fascist movement in the last century was the reign of Mussolini. Again a big government socialist movement. So where is this purported link between Fascism and the right except in the tiny minds of the left. How many right wing movements are there to curtail free speech? Capitalism and lack of government made this country great. We went from nothing to the pre-eminent world power in 150 years. No amount of revisionist history will change that. That is the heritage of the right.

You sir are the one that does not know history. At least not actual history. Fascism is about big government. Hitler was a big government fascist. National Socialism…hello? Sadly, you have fallen for the biggest lie ever perpetrated on western societies. A lie fomented and pushed by progressives within our educational system. But I fear your reaction will be to lash out rather than to learn something true about a polemic position you hold so dear. One that helps you lump all evil on the right and all good on the left. Sorry, but fascism and communism are both far left. It is just a fact. No matter how you protest.

Well said, Dyna.
My post on facebook this morning asked liberals voting for obama to un-friend me. I simply made a list of Obama’s failed policies and noted how those policies were destroying America, for which I got labeled a “Hater”!
As any Christ-believer knows, He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. I was born into a democrat family, and as a young college kid I believed Hanoi Jane and marched on Washington against the Vietnam war… but when I was born again in Christ I automatically saw the light of my faulty reasoning and became conservative. Truth isn’t just abstract; it’s a spiritual battle as well, one that requires us to grow up and “exercise our senses to discern both good and evil” (He 5:14). But one cannot exercise their senses to discern good and evil if one believes good and evil are man-made constructs that are not absolute and defined by each person. That is the liberal mindset and it leads them to embrace many political positions that defy reason. Which is why I decided to un-friend them; they just can’t be reasoned with!!

Sep. 22, 2012 at 12:17amThe Blaze removes comments if they violate their policies and i’m pretty sure they wouldn’t advertise for abortion clinics or white supremacist literature. What’s the big deal, they have their policies too.His book is just another regurgitated pile of trash anyway,if you own a book by Coulter.Hannity,Limbaugh etc.,youv’e read it already.
