Police Say Flight Attendant Stole Passenger’s iPad

Wendy Ronelle Dye was arrested Friday after an airline passenger tracked his lost iPad to her home.

OREGON CITY, Ore. (AP) — Police say a Nevada man who lost his iPad on an airplane used an app called Find My iPad to locate it inside the Oregon home of a flight attendant.

Officers in Oregon City, outside Portland, arrested 43-year-old Wendy Ronelle Dye Friday evening.

The flight attendant for Horizon Air allegedly told officers that a passenger brought her the tablet saying it was found on a seat. She said she never used the iPad and planned to turn it over to airline officials, but police found some of her personal information on it including her husband’s birthday.

Arrangements are being made to return the tablet to its owner in Reno. Dye did not immediately respond to a phone message.

A spokeswoman for Alaska Airlines, which owns Horizon, says Dye was suspended.

Ask yourselves how this woman’s crime stacks up against those committed by others who will never be prosecuted for theirs. Kathleen Sabelius violated the Hatch Act…excused. Eric Holder, contempt of Congress, possible perjury…excused. Barack Obama, payoffs to political donors…excused. These are the real criminals, but they are part of the political class above all law.

  Yes she should be arrested. I bought my IPAD at Walmart’s and with the warranty and wi-fi included it cost me over $700. This pushes her act into the felony category. How can we rely on the police if they can’t be trusted to do their simple jobs of enforce the law?

Our government has allowed the air line industry to steal from the flyers since the beginning of time. Why complain? I bet most didn’t even pass a back ground check. The government wants you to spread the wealth; therefore, the employees are free to take what they chose. Don’t fly………What you need is someone to start a business that has ethical employees and owners. When the government sticks their noses in free enterprise; corruption is sure to follow. TSA should have never been unionized or made government employees.

Throw away a job by stealing, no sympathy. Fire her sorry **** and prosecute to the full extent of the law. We have been treating the criminals in this country too lenient for too long. Criminals have the right to be decently treated, but, coddled no. They have a right to be decently fed, decently treated, allowed visitation once a month and books/radio when behavior dictates, however, they don’t have the right to all the creature comforts of home. They are there for punishment not to go on retreat. Open work camps for the non-violent offenders and allow for time served credit for time spent in the work camps working on the state, county, city and municipal roadways. The bleeding hearts better toughen up quick because crime is just getting worse. Before we coddled our criminals there shuttered at the thought of jail/prison, now, they consider it an unscheduled vacation. STOP MAKING THEN COMFORTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finders keeper’s anyone? airlines have a warehouse that sells items from lost luggage although said items may have been a result of insurance buyouts.never travel with items that cannot be easily replaced in your luggage or carry on you might get into a hurry and forget them (carry on).

They are hiring the sorriest people everywhere because they will not give jobs to decent people as much, any more. This should be a lesson. Know what you are dealing with. This could be only a little of what is to come for they want their own kind in jobs, for the most part in a lot of places.   That is a bit rash, don’t you think? Creating cripples and leaving them hobbled so they cannot reform or even have a way to earn a living? Perhaps living off of the system? What would be the best investment of America? There used to be the Ten Commandments people taught their children, which includes Thou Shall Not Steal, etc. Then there is a thing called shame that used to be, where helped others understand right and wrong. When ‘shame’ gets back into the main stream as it should have been left alone, there will be a slowing down of sins ranging from disrespect, stealing, killing and disobedience to parents, but since wisdom dictates this is good, this honor, etc., people seem to think they want to– what they would call ‘out modern’ the Creator. Now we are seeing the results of allowing schools and others to outlaw God from their presence. Even the heathen from other countries are using this to institute their own brands of murder and mayhem into our country.
