Ahmadinejad: Israel Has No Historical Roots in the Middle East & Will Be ‘Eliminated’

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad came out with fists flying just two days before his U.N. General Assembly speech on Monday. Rather than disregarding and omitting inflammatory language, the Middle Eastern despot told reporters leading up to the event that Israel has no roots in the region and that the nation will be “eliminated.”

Ahmadinejad wasn’t done there, though. He lambasted Israel’s proclamation that the nation will potentially attack Iran’s nuclear facilities, The Jewish Daily Forward reports. As he has done in the past, the fiery leader reiterated his claim that Iran’s nuclear ambitions are peaceful in nature and that there is nothing sinister at play.

“Fundamentally, we do not take seriously the threats of the Zionists,” the Iranian president, who is scheduled to speak before the Assembly on Wednesday, said. “We have all the defensive means at our disposal and we are ready to defend ourselves.”

Ignoring U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s warning not to engage in dangerous rhetoric, specifically considering all that’s going on in the Middle East of late, Ahmadinejad waged a full-scale attack on Israel’s right to exist.

“Iran has been around for the last seven, 10 thousand years. They (the Israelis) have been occupying those territories for the last 60 to 70 years, with the support and force of the Westerners,” he continued. “They have no roots there in history.”

Ahmadinejad made similar comments on CNN this week:

Among is more curious commentary, Ahmadinejad said that Israel has found itself “at a dead end” and that the nation may be “seeking new adventures” in its threats against Iran. Then, there was the cryptic pseudo-threat about Israel being “eliminated.”

“We don’t even count them as any part of any equation for Iran,” the leader proclaimed. “During a historical phase, they represent minimal disturbances that come into the picture and are then eliminated.”

When it came to the United States, Ahmadinejad took a more soft-spoken tone, seemingly prepared and ready for “dialogue,” so long as it is “under conditions that are based on fairness and mutual respect.”

      I can’t believe we let this guy come to our soil and say the stuff he does. Any other person making threats against others and nations the way this guy that heeds to shave real bad does, they wold be locked away, but we have to tolerate this guy because he is a world leader.       This is to all, I am not condoning Ima NutJob, but This is The United States of America, founded on Religious freedoms, and the right to free speech, But, the most important part is ImA Nutjob also has Diplomatic Immunities that some in the middle east have not honored, But then again The Terrorist Groups are not sovereign nations. So remember what Im A Nut Job is not saying, He is not saying they are directly going to assault or destroy the State of Israel. He is not as stupid as others would want him to be.

Ahmadinejad NEVER made the statement “Israel will be wiped off the map” he said that ZIONISM would be wiped out of the pages of history.     Let me make a wild guess. Tomorrow’s big speech will be MOTSBS.. voting present by saying words that can be interpreted differently by different audiences. This is his MO.. his specialty. Saying nothing with soaring rhetoric that makes you think he said something..= CONMAN

    BTW.. I assume he isn’t meeting with any foreign leaders because he doesn’t want to have to say what they talked about before his election. he doesn’t need to meet wioth them. He and Morsi have a plan to advance islam in the world and since Obama has America’s power in his hands he can do whatever he wants.
    Anyone who does not see this is the reason he is trying to blame someone else for the mess in Egypt /Cairo is not very bright. They either thought this would rile up America’s base so they would support Islam or something or they thought blaming a Jew for making a video they didn’t like would reflect negatively on his opponents.
    So now he says.. there will be bumps in the road…. like more Americans getting killed? those bumps?

    Israel has been in the Middle East since the beginning of time. They can trace their linage back to Adam and Eve. Iran can attempt to re-write the history of that region of the world all it wants, it doesn’t change the truth!!! Abraham is the father of the Arabs as well as the Jews!!! Their history goes back that far… Abraham had multiple sons, Issac (he had with his wife Sarah–father of the Jews) and the other sons (had with concubines–father of the Arabs) He sent his concubine-sons away to the EAST……..

      I do feel sorry for it’s people however. Recalling once during the uprising when someone (not here on blaze) said they should just nuke Iran. A young Iranian man responded that he was only 18 and wanted a future and to please NOT send nukes, that he was not responsible for the president they have (He evidently took the comment seriously). That broke my heart…to think that those very same people wanted so much to have a better country and we didn’t HELP THEM when they had their uprising….but NO, we only help enemies who wish to rise to power, not those people who actually wanted to annihilate the evil (regime.)
      Also to think that he did NOT have a say in the evil that leads his country, but WE DO and look at OUR leaders. God help us ALL.

    Note that as usual Ahmedinejad does not say, “We will eliminate Israel,” he says “Israel will be eliminated.” Israel certainly does have roots in the Middle East; equally certainly modern Israel was founded by a settler population from Europe, imposing itself on an indigenous population.
