Iranian Commander Says War with Israel Could Lead to World War III and Include the U.S.

While the Israeli government and Obama administration debate the merits of a preemptive strike on Iran’s clandestine nuclear facilities, turns out the Iranians are considering making the first military move themselves, threatening to strike U.S. bases along with Israel – which a senior commander predicts could escalate to a new world war.

Aerospace commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, predicted to Iran’s Arabic language television Al-Alam on Sunday that Israel and the U.S. will not fight a war with Iran “independent from each other, meaning that either one of these two starts the war, it will be joined by the other one.” As translated by Iran’s Fars news agency, he said (emphasis added):

“We see the US and the Zionist regime standing fully on the side of each other and we cannot imagine the Zionist regime initiating a war without the US backup. Due to the same reason, if a war breaks out, we will definitely wage battle on both sides and will definitely be engaged with the US bases,” he said.

“In case such conditions arise, a series of incidents will take place which will not be controllable and manageable and such a war might turn into a third world war. That means, certain countries may enter the war for or against Iran,” added the general.

The IRGC commander warned that in case such war is waged on Iran, the US bases in “those countries around us and inside the neighboring countries will be targeted and they will even be threatened by the nations of these very states”.

The Times of Israel adds that Hajizedeh also stated:

“There will be no neutral country in the region,” Hajizadeh said. “To us, these bases are equal to US soil.”

The general’s words follow a flurry of strident statements coming out of Tehran over the weekend. On Saturday, the head of the Revolutionary Guard Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari said that war between Iran and Israel was inevitable, though he couldn’t predict when it would occur. He also said he believes that conflict will destroy Israel, which he called “a cancerous tumor”:

“If they [Israel] start something, they will be destroyed and it will be the end of the story for them,” Jafari said.

AFP writes that this is the first time a senior Iranian official has stated publicly his belief that war is likely. In mid-September, Jafari earlier made the annihilation threat, stating that “nothing will remain of Israel” should the Jewish state strike Iran’s nuclear facilities.

On Sunday, Brigadier General Hossein Salami, deputy to Jafari, said that the Islamic Republic’s defense strategy assumes it “will engage in a war, a massive battle against a global coalition led by the US” which would provide “a historical opportunity for the Islamic Revolution to wipe them [Israel] off the world’s geographical history.” AFP further reports:

He said the Islamic republic had made preparations to “crush” the enemy by hitting “enemy bases in the region, the security of the Zionist regime (Israel) and the energy market, as well as the lives of enemy forces.”

Unlike his colleague Hajizadeh, who on Monday suggested the preemptive strike, Salami said Iran won’t fire the first shot: “We will not start a war. But if someone wages war against us, we will launch continuous offensives.”

  Fact: Jesus was a Galilean, not a Jew. He was born and raised in Galilee, not Judea. Jews were Judean citizens at the time of Jesus. There was no religion called Judaism at the time of Jesus. The Sadducees and Pharisees were the religious power-brokers Judean.
  
  Jesus was most likely an Essene. John chapter 8 gives you some idea of how Jesus felt about the Judean secular/religious elite.

The Romans knew that Jesus was Galilean, that’s why they put ‘Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews’ on his cross. It was a slap in the Sadducees and Pharisees face. Contrary to popular belief, Lucifer is not anywhere close to being as divine as Jesus and would love f or people to think so. So be careful when you seek the truth as it is easy to miss with all the lies. Salvation is faith in Christ in what He did to save you. Easiest way to explain it is works without faith is death, faith without works is dead. Just blows my mind when someone says that Allah is the same as God, and Mormonism is another form of Christianity.   I think Iran is planning something that will eliminate Israel, the US, and vault them to Hero status over the entire Muslim world. Most importantly, they only need 4-nukes to do it (which recent reports say they could have by March 2013. One nuke to EMP Israel and three nukes to EMP the entire continental US.   This may be part of Obama’s plan. To make the middle east oil the only oil (or close to the only oil) thereby going to war with the middle east would lead to gas rationing and or no fuel for us. We need more Marines ******* on dead Taliban members and we even may need to pull a play from an old Marine play book, when the marines went to Tripoli to quell the Muslims back then, Take pigs and bury the dead Muslims with the pigs (stupid I know, but it prevents them from going to heaven)…

  If you discount the fact that Russia and China have both said that they would stand behind Iran..then sure..15 minutes..15 minutes to 5-$10 gas prices..more of our people killed than ever..
  nuclear attacks on the United States…perfect for that NWO..They won’t even have to use those death camps, guillotines..and that executive order where they cease all forms of transportation or all food and water supplies Obama issued back in March..and they may not even have to use all of those muslims that they have infiltrated us with..although if there is that war..homeland security and the muslims can all help..I think it’s a wonderful idea.

  Neither Russia or China will commit direct military intervention in the event of a war with Iran. MAD still works. Russia and China are not allies. They have a long history of border conflicts. Russia has always been concerned with China. Russia knows the US and its behavior. China is the country they most fear. Russia doesn’t want a Caliphate on its southern borders. It presents too much of a problem.

  DV the Russians are still our enemy. Sending bombers into our air space in the north. Submarines into the gulf. They are testing our response times and reaction. Nothing has really changed under the surface.
  
  If we are engaged in a conflict with Iran, I could see the US getting nuked. A quick hit to knock out command and control from submarine launched cruise missiles. That could hit their targets with in a couple minutes. Too fast for any reaction. Then a major strike from ICBMs or bombers.
  
  Seems to me that’s what they are testing. The only thing giving them pause are our own submarine launched ICBMs.

  I didn’t mean to imply that Russia is not our enemy. They are. Russia understands mutually assured distruction. They have had boomers off our coast for years. After I got out of the Army, I bounced around in Guard and Reserve units in an intelligence role. I was in the Utah Air Guard for a while. Russian SLBM subs in the Pacific were capable of launch to impact at Salt Lake City in 20 minutes and that is 1980 technology. They have never not been off our coasts. Just like we have never not been of theirs.
  
  Russia still knows they have too much to lose if they went nuclear with the US. Their military and naval resources are still subpar following the collapse of the Soviet Union. They know the only country to use the nuclear option is the US. That is one of the main reasons for the USSR backing down and out of Cuba.

  I am sure it will last longer than 15 minutes. They do have their proxies that will have their gloves off to wage terrorist attacks through out the globe. What Iran needs to consider is that the REST of the world is getting very tiresome with these “jihadists” and that with one collective non-PC shove will cause them to feel what it is to have multi-millions of casualties! The reason these islamist cretins are so willing to die for thier cause is that they have NEVER felt the destruction that there was in Europe during the World Wars……one reason that the “peace movement” is so strong in Europe is that they KNOW what it is like to have generations killed……the love of death needs to be cut out of Islam!!!

The Iranian youth tried in 2009 to change their nation for the better, but apparently Obama didn’t think they deserved any aid or support for an actual democracy in the MidEast. Obama prefers an Islamic Caliphate and zero freedom. Iran has been mad doggin’ for a long time. Israel will not wait for us. This brings to mind the Mother of ALL WARS. It was over in 48 hours with Iraqi bodies strewn from Kuwait to Baghdad. Almost all of the 2500 Russian T- 20 Tanks destroyed in the first hours of the Battle. This Buffoon is also discounting the firepower sitting in the Gulf below him. Each of which have more Bombers and Fighters aboard than his entire Air Force. He should also understand that one EMP blast over Tehran would take him and his merry band of Rock Throwers back to the Stone Age. Which is exactly where they belong.

  Iran’s conventional forces are indeed weak. That is exactly why Iran is developing nukes, and why it must be prevented from doing so. Nukes will give the Mullahs a shortcut around building a large, exepnsive, conventional fighting force.   Nope Gonzo, that’s incorrect. Israel, and the West are pushing for it, and that part isn’t reported by the Blaze. Iran has never indicated that it will start this war. Israel is threatening to preemptively nuke Iran. I wouldn’t have known this if I didn’t start digging through wikileaks. I haven’t gotten very far yet.   Just curious… why would Israel be wanting to attack Iran first? You are right in stating that Israel is the one wanting to go in first. That is because they know what Iran is close to obtaining… a nuke. Now if a country that has made it known that they would like to wipe your country off the face of the earth actually is close to having that power what would you do? I would make a preemptive strike before they have the chance… which is what Israel plans on doing. However, so many people have their heads in the sand saying that there is no reason for war. I support Israel 100%. Iran is a hostile country that is looking to kill all Christian nation, including the US. Whether it is dubbed a war at this time or not, we are already there. Israel doesn’t know Iran’s intentions, and the worst words played over and over was a mistranslation, which they didn’t play over and over. The only country to threaten to use nuclear weapons in the middle east is Israel. Israel hasn’t signed the Non proliferation treaty, so has no business telling another sovereign nation to do anything. No one wants to see more proliferation. When CNN aired the interview they abruptly cut out the segment where she explains the Islamic terrorist organizations Hamas and CAIR and her position on Obama’s forged birth certificate. Geller was smart enough to know to secretly record the CNN interview as it was happening. She called out CNN after the airing and CNN was forced to release the full interview. Go here and here

  Moonstruck: You have absolutely no idea of Israel’s capabilities. Because Israelis wish to avoid war, they are refraining from attacking Iran. But Israelis take the slogan “never again” quite seriously. And they have the means to back up that slogan. Iran knows this, which is why they have not, to date, attacked Israel. It is also why Ahmedinejad speaks in the third person when threatening Israel, and why he is developing nukes. He knows that without them, he cannot really threaten Israel. If you want to see a war, just let Iran continue with their nuclear program. Stop the program, and the world can avoid a war.

  Anyone who attacks Israel or their people are attacking America, they are our ALLY and we have gained much from being that, medicines, technology, information, just to name a few. Even if you don’t believe in God (I pray for those that don’t), you better watch your step. I’ve been called many things for standing with our ally and I expect that because the old hatred for Jews has returned which is easily seen just by reading comments here. These people have failed to study history and replaced it with inculcation by YouTube videos, I got news for these people, you don‘t know squat and are learning from other people who don’t know squat, you are doomed.   Aetius defeated Attila at the battle of Chalons. He had allies Alans, Visigoths & Franks. His victory ensured Rome existed another generation.
  
  You need allies. When you throw one cavalierly away people take note. They took not when a Democrat controlled Congress flushed South Vietnam. The South Vietnamese had defeated North Vietnam in 1972 with American Air power. During the 1975 North Vietnamese invasion the F______ Demoncats cut American air power. The South Vietnam fell. We as Chistians are charged by God to protect Israel and that is what we are going to do.
