Must Watch: Army Wife and Soldier Husband Have Tearful Reunion on Stage at Toby Keith Concert

In arguably one of the most touching moments of the year, country singer Toby Keith surprised the wife of a soldier fighting in Afghanistan by reuniting her with her husband on stage during one of his concerts.

After pulling the surprised woman on stage during a Sept. 8 show in Houston, Texas, Keith began to play his hit song “American Soldier,” dedicating it to her husband, Maj. Pete Cruise (or Cruz, spelling wasn’t provided), who the woman thought was still in Afghanistan.

“What’s his name?” Keith asked.

“Pete [Cruise]… he’s a major,” the woman replied, referring to his Army rank.

“Alright let’s do this song for Maj. Pete Cruise tonight,” the singer said.

As Keith began to sing the song, the soldier’s wife fought back tears and tried to sing along, completely unaware that she was about to be face-to-face with her hero husband.

After just the first verse of “American Soldier,” the lead guitarist began to play the National Anthem on a wailing electric guitar, leaving the woman on stage a little confused. Then, out of nowhere, Maj. Pete Cruise appeared on the stage where he and his wife shared a tearful and emotional embrace, the sound of the electric guitar still blaring behind them. Cruise was reportedly able to come home from Afghanistan earlier than expected.

And the crowd went nuts!

“She didn’t know he was coming here tonight,” Keith added.

  I think Toby Keith is a great American himself. He creates many songs about the gallantry of those who fight for our country and he does a lot of overseas concerts for those same heroes so I think he deserves a lot of credit for the work he puts in to entertain those who fight for our freedoms. By the way I am a transplant to Oklahoma and I see Toby’s name on a water tower in Moore, OK (suburb city on the south side of OKC) all the time that says, “Moore, hometown of Toby Keith.”

  Toby isn’t a Liberal. His father was a democrate, that doesn’t mean he still is. My father fought in WW2 and was a democrat, I definately am not. Toby wants everyone to buy his records and come to his concerts, The same as Brad Paisley. He played for Odummer, that doesn’t mean he voted for him.

  I like every kind of music.. Most country songs are about, friends, family, drinking, once in awhile they’ll throw some weed in there. The great thing about Country, in a lot of their songs is God and Country!! Listen to Toby Keith, Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, just to name a few..

I can only say, I am blessed to have had the honor of each and every one of these soldiers protection, I have to say to all of you in the White House and the government offices, that you have too soon, forgotten who loves you enough, along with their families, to sacrifice their lives to keep YOU ALL who betray them, turn on their families, steal from them, take their rights, trash our American Flag, teach our children false hoods, and kill innocent, law abiding to apease your sick and evil minds and ways, will one day taste your sickness and suffer far worse than what you have inflicted upon your innocent fellow American… Tis what a shame you do not realize the harm now to what you are to create for your own, greediness, may God forgive you.

  I agree, I think most are actually apolitical, but the democrats use celebs, and it makes them feel important, so they’ll say whatever the libs want them to for the extra attention. Good ending there! I hate to admit I was addicted to Toby Keith videos on you tube for awhile. His videos are hilarious. I like him but heard he’s pretty liberal…He has a restaurant here near me. Now I’ve switched to listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir..all their songs are on you tube and are very uplifting. Always Joyful to See a Serviceman come HOME.

Great Toby .. he always has a great show .. and this was tops … so happy for the couple .. may they all come home soon.
