Richard Ryan may have the simplest YouTube channel concept. And one of the coolest.
The channel is cleverly called RatedRR. Still, that doesn’t give a hint as to what you’re about to see. So what is RatedRR all about? It follows host Richard Ryan firing his big guns at various objects. We’re talking a .50 caliber taking on a new iPhone 5. And that’s exactly the subject of his latest video.
Recently, Ryan took his Barrett out to see how the new iPhone would stand up to a couple rounds. Answer: better than you’d think.

Been there, done that, and have the cap to prove it. A bear is very deliberate, slow and deadly attacker. There are actual hand guns that will fire a 50 cal. and river shore fishermen use these since a 50cal. Rifle doesn’t allow for reaction time for a bear that has tracked a scent to the river bank, and the noise of the river will muffle the approach of that meandering bear. Yes the 50 cal pistol will knock your arm sideways, and maybe ruin your day, but the arm can heal, a hungry bear looking for fresh trout will not be so delicate.

I have seen plenty of things hit with a .50 (I have a friend that bought one a couple years back, too bad its so expensive to shoot) and I must say, a .50 cal round, is TRULY a scary thing….

Since the I-phone is thin, pretty much solid, there’s no room for the bullet to expand inside and cause it to much damage. And traveling around 3000 FPS, the bullet would act like a needle going through.

I believe this web site discourages direct links. They prefer that you describe the link, and what can be found on the link. ie: gunbroker (com) you can find that type of Barrett 50 cal, but be prepared to give up lattés for about 1,167 days (not including ammo).

Sep. 24, 2012 at 3:55pmI witness the proof in Iraq as a Class 7 (Weapons and Vehicles) officer. The .50 Cal was the most requested weapon by military units besides the M4/M16. Guys told me that the .50 Cal would “deter” attacks. I think if the enemy would witness one of their comrades being cut down by the .50 cal, those still alive were not that ready to meet their 72 vir gins.

The M2′s original intent was for knocking out light vehicles (by being able to shoot through cast iron engine blocks, thin armor etc). The M2 is timeless as base of fire support weapon (against anything up to and including a BMP APC using AP Incendeary rounds). This weapon like the 1911 .45 and the B52G should enjoy use for another 20-30 years.

It’s just a .308 or .338 is cheaper and more functional (I use a .338 to hunt with), and basically, I can’t hit anything over 800 yards, my eyes aren’t as good as they used to be. But for just overalll coolness, I agree, the Barrett is all that.

They saw a carload of looters drive up in front of their row of shops. They shot the engine of the car and they cracked the block ruining the vehicle. When the looters piled out shooting and running toward their shops they picked off 3 of them. The other three ran off. Their shops survived the riots with no losses.
