During Tuesday’s edition of his show on TheBlazeTV, Glenn Beck took a detailed look into what the United States looked like before President Obama took office and compared it to where we are as a nation today.
Beck’s findings are, to put it lightly, damaging to the president’s re-election hopes.
In a video segment titled “Obama by the Numbers,” Beck seemingly answers this nagging question once and for all: “Are you better off today than you were four years ago?” The answer, at least by the numbers, is a resounding “no.”
Here are some of the highlights from the video:
- U.S. went from No. 1 in global competitiveness in 2008-2009 to No.7 in 2011-2012.
- Average cost of college tuition increase from $6,591 in 2009 to $8,244 in 2012
- The price of gasoline skyrocketed from $1.85-per-gallon in 2009 to $3.86-per-gallon in 2012
- The Obama administration has added 11,327 new pages of government regulations
- Federal debt has ballooned from $10.6 trillion in 2009 to $16.06 trillion in 2012.

Sep. 25, 2012 at 11:40pm@JZS Did you even read the numbers or watch the video above the comments section? Yes, George Bush went along with the democrats and spent like a druken sailor, especially during his last two years. However, the “blame Bush” rhetoric is, after four years of Obama, tiresome. ALL economic indicators and numbers have worsened under the Obama administration. One of the ways Obama is “fundamentally transforming” America is spending it into collapse. The bottom line is that Americans are worse off than we were four years ago. That fact is undeniable.

** 56% of the jobs created during this administration are low skill/low wage.
Stock market crashed…now it breaks records.
** Check the value of the dollar. The reason the stock market is up is because the Fed has devalued the dollar with quantitative easing.

Sep. 25, 2012 at 10:57pmSorry JHOOKS. Two trillion dollar wars started by Bush, a 7 trillion dollar unfunded Medicare benefit (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/09/18/gop-2012-candidates-opposed-to-repealing-unfunded-medicare-drug-benefit/), dramatically reduced tax revenues (the “Bush tax cuts”) and the second worst economic calamity in the history of the US – which began a year before Bush left office – is the cause of the increased national debt.
Please explain yourself. What additional spending has President Obama passed? Please be specific and explain why you believe that wars Bush started, the tax cuts, the Great Recession (caused by Bush), the 7 trillion dollar entitlement Bush passed and the dramatically reduced tax revenues are somehow unrelated to the national debt.
And explain how President Obama increased the debt through his actions as President.
Sorry, Bush left this country a f-ing debt ridden mess in economic free fall.

Sep. 25, 2012 at 11:28pmJZS, no spending bills? Really? There was a near trillion dollar stimulus bill in the first six months, In addition to bailouts. That stimulus bill got baked into the spending for each year after because of the continuing resolutions (ie no budget passed after by Pelosi or Reid after the stimulus). The health car fiasco cost an early another trillion in the bill, and that has been revised up by more than double by the CBO since.
If you truly believe there has not been significantly higher spending in the last three years, I don’t think anyone here can possibly try to have a discussion with you.

Sep. 25, 2012 at 10:27pmThe deal Obama made with the globalists was to weaken the USA to the point, at which loss of sovereignty will seem like a state of grace. It is truly brilliant how it is working. Alinsky, Piven, Ayers, Jarret Monsoor, Soros….right down the line. Golden boy, whose way was paved in gold and promises of fame and wealth. Fulfilling “dreams” of revenge on those who actually achieve success by discipline and endurance. Mentored by angry men whose jealous rage found roots in hatred and avarice.
Nurtured in isolation, Obama never had chance to come into intellectual contact with any philosophy but the the progressive agenda…he knows nothing else ….it is his life, his cause, his aspiration and his RELIGION.
In the end he is a tool of globalist mass killers, looking to subjugate the entire world and save themselves from “over-population”. Heartless and ruthless, they stay above the fray and conceal themselves behind piles and piles of stolen cash. Running ‘boys’ like Obama, ruining the middle class by taking the means of earning and burying them in reams of regulations and environmental statutes. Working to make the unions the only game, the sole employer. Allowing corruption to to run rampant, to purposely eat the profit margin of corporations causing bankruptcy.failure and eventually nationalization.
Beautiful, efficient, and terminal.

Sep. 25, 2012 at 10:25pmI follow politics and current events closely, as I am sure most of those posting here do. I am dumbfounded by those who would vote for Gary Johnson on “principal”, knowing he has no chance of winning. The bitterness from the Ron Paul supporters seems to indicate it would be preferable to see Obama reelected and let the whole thing come crashing down. I understand the campaign for liberty, but I implore you to consider the best way to reclaim liberty is not to let it completely disappear (as it will with another Obama term) Once liberty is gone, we will never get it back. Rather, Mitt Romney is our only hope for restoring the vision of the founders. A half of a loaf of bread is better than none at all when one is starving. America is starving.

Sep. 25, 2012 at 10:37pmOh my gosh Jhooks, you couldn’t have said it any better!
We all must unite under one cause: to rid Barack Obama of the presidency. If we can band together with that being the main them we outnumber them 2 to 1. Sitting here fighting for liberty with a 0% chance of successfully attaining it at this point is insane.
Here’s how to do it:
Follow the progressive way but instead of unraveling America’s core we slowly build and restore it.
1. Elect Mitt Romney.
2. Educate people with the facts. Don’t sit back down and continue your daily routine after Mitt is elected, otherwise you just lost the battle for true liberty already.
3. Hold Mitt and Gov’t feet to the fire.
4. Elect your liberty lover 4 or 8 years after Mitt depending on how he does.
It’s that simple folks. I want to cut the cord in one piece right now as much as you do but it is impossible. We’ve been given countless examples, now let’s try a different way.

Sep. 26, 2012 at 10:49amIt still amazes me how much everyone just goes with the flow no matter haw much freedom they take from you. Paul supporters have called you sheeple, and I am beginning to see what they mean. When the people turn a blind eye to the parties ignoring their voice, then the people deserve to lose their voice. Does it not bother anyone that both the Democrats and Republicans pushed their agenda’s at their conventions against the nays of their delegates? It was blatant in both, with evidence that is irrefutable, and you all act as though that is business as usual. How dare all of you act as though this is OK. It is not OK. It goes against, what we have all taken for granted, our freedom, and now we have lost. When the American people do not stand up to tyranny, then that is what we deserve, tyranny. Shame on all of you. Oh, Barack Obama will ruin us all. BS. All of you are ruining us as a free nation from the lack of Patriotism toward freedom. Your silence speaks loudly.

Sep. 25, 2012 at 10:28pm@VoiceOfIgnorance: It doesn’t matter how many times the debt ceiling is raised, what matters is the TOTAL increase in the debt ceiling. The increases under Bush (who was a PROGRESSIVE and NOT a Conservative) totalled less than $5T in 8 years. The total under President Marxist totals over $6T in 4 years. At that rate, Bonobo will add over $12T by the end of a second term taking our overall debt to over $22T. That’s a debt that we’ll NEVER payoff.
Also, why do people like you try to excuse Barry’s terrible behavior by pointing to Bush’s bad behavior? You seem to think that because Bush was irresponsible that it’s OK for Barry to be nearly criminal in his spending.
