Video of a so-called Transportation Security Administration “freeze drill” has been posted online, showing a TSA officer instructing passengers to remain in place at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport before permitting them to leave.
The 24-second footage, posted on YouTube Tuesday, appears to show about a dozen passengers stopped in their tracks with two uniformed TSA officers supervising.
“Stay right where you are,” a blue-gloved TSA officer says as one person tries to walk through. “Stay right there.”
The user who uploaded the video stated the entire drill lasted about two minutes and that it took place within the “secured” part of the airport.
“The tension was rather palpable, as you might imagine. No explanation was given, no other words were spoken. No one moved a muscle. Parents grabbed their children. Anyone who fidgeted or made a step forward got yelled at,” the video’s description stated.
The TSA told the New York Times in 2011 that the drills are a training tool for officers to practice quickly shutting down a security checkpoint in the event of a security breach. TSA spokeswoman Kristina Lee said the agency has “wide-ranging legal authority to carry out security-related responsibilities.”
Still, Lee acknowledged “passengers are not required to ‘freeze’ in place like statues,” but said that if they’re within the checkpoint area they could be required to stay there until the drill concludes.
The TSA did not immediately respond to an emailed request for comment from TheBlaze, including about whether the drill as shown in the video was in line with standard TSA policy.
Update: TSA spokesman Nico Melendez told TheBlaze he couldn’t comment specifically about the video and say whether it showed a drill in progress or an actual security situation. He said the drills are known as “all-stop drills” and are used “to test our security officers’ abilities to control a situation in the case of a possible breach.”
“All operations cease and everyone stops so we can identify where the situation might be taking place,” Melendez said, adding that passengers have been “very understanding and receptive.”
He said such drills are very common and are conducted multiple times a day at every airport in the country.
Though Melendez was unable to comment on the video’s specifics, he said everything shown seemed to be in line with TSA procedure.

( Note: Must be willing to fight for your neighbors property rights and family and make the ultimate sacrifice if necessary. It’s that simple.) A million strong can not be stopped. What is needed is to organize. The minority under the Constitution has the legal right to insist on our freedoms. No force can stop a million patriots insisting on change. Until patriots organize, it’s all talk and talk will no longer work. We are beyond words.

And if they even attempted a Freeze game, I’m too much of a smart@zz to stay still. and we won’t even get into them touching my handicapped on his “junk” because he’s autistic and doesn’t even like his doctor touching him there because we’ve taught him no one should. Even Hitlers SS and Gestapo never did this to travelers at airports or train stations while looking for spies and Jews. Sep. 27, 2012 at 3:47pmI travel by air virtually every week of the year since 1998. This is nothing new as I have seen this done countless times. It is incredible how the TSA hires individuals with an IQ of about 50; but man, once they put that uniform on, they feel the power!
I had an incident last year where this young kid…probably around 25 years old was ahead of me in the TSA line at the Atlanta airport. He was dressed in a suit and kept looking at his boarding pass and then looking around the line like he was wondering if he was in the “right one”. Occassionally I spotted some sort of ID badge clipped to his jacket lapel. As the line moved forward slowly, I noticed he kept repeating to himself, “I’m Homeland Security!, I’m Homeland Security!” Then he would look at his boarding pass again and then look up and around like “am I in the right place”? Finally, he just stopped while the people ahead of him kept moving; so after about a minute or so I finally said to the guy, that I was going to go around him since he didn’t look like he knew where he should be.
So now the guy is behind me and I hear him say to my back, “Well, you must be a real PRO at this….I’m Homeland Security!” I just ignored him. He repeated those comments a couple of more times. After I got through the scanner, I sat down to get “dressed”, he walked by me and as he passed he said “I’m going to be watching your f****ing a$$”. I should have got a cop, but I didn’t. Sep. 27, 2012 at 3:45pmI was out West somewhere, many years ago. I had never traveled by train so I decided I would. I did not know my **** from deep left field (still don’t much, at times,) so I followed a group of people toward a place they were boarding. There was this man standing back cursing those people, they were black people. I saw him really dressing down this old black woman and being disrespectful. I got so angry I went up to him and cursed him pretty badly and told him what I thought he was for treating her like that. He almost didn’t let me board, but I guess he decided I would make too much trouble and let me go. I went up to the black old black woman, hobbing along, skinny little thing she was, and started to take her arm and asked ‘Ma’am’ could I help you onto the train? She jerked away from me and said: “Get away from me, you is trouble. I don’t needs any trouble here. You is going to get yo self hurt if you an’t kerful.” I came close to crying, then. That hurt, not from the old woman, for I grew a bit inside and realized she had lived the life of being opressed, not so much from those who abuse authority, but life in general. She was used to being spoken to like that, treated like that. Abusers who deal with others take advantage of people like her. These people in charge were of both ethnics. Those people who use their tidbit of authority and “lord” it over people do not deserve to be around people. These types push up, color is not relevant. It is the soul of man th

Sep. 27, 2012 at 3:44pmIf this continues, and apparently it will, no one is going to pay attention to them anymore. Once folks realize that the purpose of the drill, is to accomplish the drill, they’ll just “tune out” and keep walking. Remember the little boy that cried wolf?
I do not believe that I am breaking any laws by continuing to proceed on my way. “Freeze” has no meaning under any laws that I’m familiar with. Now if everyone starts ignoring them, and keeps on walking, they won’t have enough handcuffs.
Remember, this is being dished out by the same folks, at the same Sky Harbor Airport, that blocked Governor Bong from going through security with the Congressional Medal of Honor because it looked kinda’ menacing.
Indulging morons just leads to more moronic behavior, and empowers them in the end. Who benefits?

You are correct, I am wrong. Bong croaked in the 40′s, but Joe Foss lived till 2003. He was a WWII ace as well, and a general, and a commissioner, a holder of the Congressional Medal of Honor and a two term governor of South Dakota. One hardly knows what title use when referencing his many accomplishments.
There is some confusion as to who scored the most kills with the Marines in WWII. Some say Boyington, others say Foss. I tend to come down on the side of Foss, as Boyington shot down aircraft while with AVG (not Marines at all). Suffice to say they both did ok.
You would have thought I would have gotten his last name correct. Foss, Bong, what’s the difference?

Sep. 27, 2012 at 3:52pmNovember is only the date of the election. But political power is not handed over until Jan 20, 2013 “officially”. A lot of trouble can be had between the Vote and the transfer of power. Remember in 2008 Progressives were pushing for Obama to be installed nearly instantly.
If Obama loses I am confident they will call for him to for Marshall Law since his loss will create a National “Crisis” so the E/O that was updated in April which Truman filed in case of war with the Stalinist Regime of Russia. Its language and controls were changed to give the president complete power to run the country during what the Administration would call a National Crisis. What is a National Crisis to mean. Riots because Obama was not reelected and voter fraud claims push people to riot like they did in Kenya when the Progressive backed candidate lost the election and claimed fraud. Many innocent people lost their lives in those riots and the Gov’t trying to keep control of the society. It could happen here to since it was Soros backed groups in Kenya that caused the problem in voting and they are doing the same here. A.C.O.R.N. and attempted voter registration fraud by flooding the registration process leading up to election day so that registrations were too numerous to deal with before the elections were held. And even pushing for early voting even when registrations were not vetted completely. Will Jimmy Carter oversee these elections???
