Several new polls out Wednesday show President Obama opening up a lead over Mitt Romney in several key swing states–including jaw-dropping results that show Obama with leads in Pennsylvania, Florida and Ohio floating around ten points. The Romney campaign and Republicans have immediately responded that these polls are inaccurate or skewed because of sample sizes that base 2012 turnout projections on the historically significant 2008 elections. Democrats have countered, arguing that there is no reason not to expect historic voter turnout for Hispanics, Blacks and young voters again.
The conventional wisdom from the media and even the campaigns throughout this race has been that it will be a close fight till the end, but do these projections now put that notion on it’s heels?
On “Real News From The Blaze” Wednesday the panel discussed how to take these new, shocking polls.Watch a clip below with guest Emily Ekins, director of polling for the Reason Foundation:

Sep. 27, 2012 at 9:15amWell, it was quite amazing how accurate the polls were in both the 2008 and 2010 elections, so I wouldn’t discount them. Just because your guy isn’t in the lead doesn’t mean that the polls are skewed. Even some of the so-called conservative polls are showing the President ahead…..

Sep. 27, 2012 at 7:31amA matter of principle. I’m voting for the most likely team who can fix all that Obama has tried to ruin, Then I’ll be dragging every person I know down to the polls to do the same. Then I’ll be waiting to see if Chicago politics have “created or saved” ballots and stole the election, or if in fact we were able to win by enough of a margin to prevent voter fraud from stealing it. I live in a VERY liberal state and reading the tea leaves, Obama isn’t winning unless he is cheating. Everyone needs to be on their toes and be prepared to walk right past the NBP party with their night sticks and watch out for dead people voting. Have your cell phones at the ready especially in the big cities in the key states because you are going to see some crazy stuff this time. But I am not afraid. WE have more to lose and will thus not be deterred from voting. THEY have an agenda, but too many people are aware enough to realize what is going on and you will see enough of his base supporters frankly too embarrassed and/or too lazy to get to the polls. Like Romney said, too many people want free stuff – but even free loaders have some shame and enough will have the common sense to know the free stuff stops if the economy and the system continues to advance to meltdown. Just like the DNC stadium seating – watch how many fail to show. (but watch after you vote.)

Sep. 27, 2012 at 8:53amMy wife who recently obtained her citizenship registered to vote at the Restoring Love event. We mailed the form to our Sec of State’s office weeks ago and she still shows as not registered. We are sending in another form today except this time, we are sending it to our local office. Did the original get lost in the mail? If it did, I seriously doubt that it was by accident. Probably should not have indicated party preference on the registration. Very sad……

Sep. 27, 2012 at 5:15amThere is something very suspicious about the way certain venues are treating this election as though it were a foregone conclusion. The first thing I think of is the vote coining done in Spain – why? I noticed the same suspicious reversal in polling as well, when the overall trend was a few points up for Romney. My fear is that is a fabrication in order to support the already decided election – in that the fix is in from the top down – via the machines or the vote counters in place.

Sep. 27, 2012 at 7:12amPolls are done by the media, pretty much everything they say is a lie, like Obama. That explains the poll numbers as they make them say what they want to hear. The unemployment numbers and every other number related report is in the same bag, so don’t believe any of them.

Sep. 27, 2012 at 3:13amIt was all over the Chicago news today about how there are almost 200,000 fewer people registered to vote this year than there were in 2008. They were interviewing every liberal politician in site asking them what they plan to do about it.
I think there is very good reason not to expect the same turnout.
These polls are likely skewed like most polls are. Only morons put any faith in poll results. Unless you conducted the poll yourself and know you used a statistically significant sample size and the sample set isn’t overly populated with people you know are going to respond a certain way, then polls are pretty much useless.

Sep. 27, 2012 at 1:36amAccounting for the margin of error holds to it that the essence of this poll-that Obama will defeat Romney- remains true. No matter personal slant, these polls are the most precise instrument at our disposal to measure public perception. Thankfully they point to a presidency free of homegrown absurd superstition which includes magic underwear, polytheism, blood atonement and pre-teenage deflowerement at the hands of an ancient man.

There have been many times that this wonderful Country has had to stand tall with a STOUT heart and unfailing Courage. This is another one of those times. Before BECK in March of 2009, the 75% of us who think of ourselves as PATRIOTS actually thought we were pretty much ALONE. Right after the call for April 15 and the massive number of people showed up all Across the Nation…in such numbers with such zeal that suddenly the 9/12′rs and TEA PARTIERS were formed and we knew we had a chance to save America. AND WE DO.
III.
ROMNEY is no punch-puller; not in any way weak and he’s not letting anyone get the best of him. They (these liberal creeps ) would love for you to think that he’s out of step or afraid to confront Obama. GET REAL. YOU do not have to be a horses potutie to win points. Unlike other candidates who have been rather hysterical on certain points, ROMNEY has been MATURE, STEADY, SURE. HE doesn’t have to scream about being able to turn our economy around…we KNOW he can do it.
TONIGHT IS DAY 1 of 40 days of Prayers. YOU and me – talking to GOD. ON our KNEES. Pray for Mitt and Ann and Paul and Jenna too while you’re at it. HOW we LOVE AMERICA. HOW we despise people who are trying to hurt us. FIGHT HAR

Based on the comments i have seen the last few weeks, even people around here think “voting for someone who cant win” is stupid….Therefore, media is creating the illusion that Romney cant win. Its very simple, you see
