CNN’s Soledad O’Brien Calls Out Obama Campaign Surrogate: ‘So Smooth and Yet So Ridiculous’

When even the media is starting to tire of prepackaged answers from the Obama campaign, you begin to wonder exactly how they will get through Obama himself spinning answers next Wednesday at the first Presidential debate.

That irritation was on display quite prominently today on CNN, when anchor Soledad O’Brien interrupted Delaware Governor Jack Markell in the middle of an answer tinged with spin to react with incredulity at how irrelevant Markell’s answer was to her question.

The exchange began with O’Brien quoting from a number of campaign surrogates within both the Romney campaign and the Obama campaign, each claiming that their candidate was badly out of practice on debates, in an attempt to lower expectations prior to Wednesday. Yet, O’Brien noted, in a CNN poll of likely voters, 59 percent of those voters expected President Obama to win the debates, compared with just 33 for Romney, suggesting that even if the Obama campaign is trying to lower expectations for the President, the voters aren’t buying it.

Markell tried to change the subject, arguing that what the poll respondents really meant was that by a 59-33 margin, they thought Obama had the better vision for the country. O’Brien started laughing and cut him off hastily.

“Governor, I’ve got to stop you right there. I’m going to stop you right there, because that’s not what they’re saying in the poll. Honestly, please,” O’Brien said. “It was so smooth and yet so ridiculous, I had to stop you in the middle.”

O’Brien then proceeded to ask the question again, this time a little more pointedly. Markell’s composure noticeably flagged.

“Look, I mean in the end, the amount of time that we spend talking about debates itself is sort of – is interesting to me,” Markell stammered. “I mean, they’re both gonna go out there, gonna do what they can, I mean Mitt Romney has obviously spent a lot more time preparing for these debates. He had all the debates earlier this year. The President is a good communicator, there’s no question about it, but in terms of a debate one-on-one, Mitt Romney has obviously had a whole lot more experience in the last year getting ready for this.”

I can hardly wait for the debate. The lame stream media will have no choice about telling the people who Obama is. The people will see for themselves on national TV what a liar Obama really is. They will also see him squirming and stuttering trying to answer questions from Romney instead of getting questions that were spoon fed to him along with a teleprompter.

It was different four years ago because people thought he was the messiah. It was also different because he had no record OR experience. Now after his dismal failure as a leader people will see.

My ONE OVERWHELMING desire is that this will be the moment when Romney
pulls the curtain on Barry’s cultist Wizard Of Oz administration.

Barry has NEVER been confronted mano a mano in a setting where he is forced
to answer. He did debate Hilary, but they’re on the same team in the end. Hilary

Read his biography’s (including the one put out about his unwritten book from the Harvard Law Review’s Publisher) and then all the speeches he’s given all over the world and how they are the exact opposites of each other when he’s among libs, and the general electorate.   BODYBAG, Would love to see that too. But, you have to know that 0bama will be receiving a copy of all of the questions well in advance of each debate. Very likely these will come with suggested answers or partial answers. I just hope the angle of the cameras reveal the teleprompter you just know he will be using.   I truly hope you people are right about Romney being strong with the current occupier of the White House but I am very worried he will be this “nice” guy.   I think the mainstream media is starting to realize this could very well turn into a loose / loose situation for them . If Obama looses they look like fools for obvious one sided support for him , if Obama wins he is very likely to have nothing more to do with them . Their credibility has eroded so far over the last four years there is no turning back for them.People are getting their news elsewhere now , just look at their ratings , and those ratings has spread to the networks everyday programming.

What makes everyone believe that our vote counts? Four times in the history of the United States voting the electoral college voted against the popular vote. If Obama wants to get back in all he has to do is buy votes from the electoral college. If the electoral college doesn’t want someone in office they don’t get in.

  This isn’t American Idol. We don’t vote by “popular” vote nationally. The Electoral College delagates of each state voted as their state went not as the nation as a whole goes. This was purposely set up by the founders of this country so every state got a say.
  
  I remember learning about this in the 5th grade. I’m not sure why people still don’t know how the Electoral College works.

  Dude, that’s not the way the Electoral College works. You win a state, you get those delegates. If you don’t win enough states you don’t get the delegates and you don’t win the election. It’s as simple as that! It doesn’t matter what the total vote is. If they ever do away with the electoral college they, the candidates, will ignore the less populous states and cities and only go campaign in areas that have a large population.

  That’s why Al Gore is trying to get rid of the electoral college. When he ran against Bush in 2000, he got the popular vote, but Bush won by electoral votes (after Al’s “hanging chad” debacle in FL because he refused to admit he lost). It was setup that way on purpose. If it went by the popular vote, as has been said, candidates would only focus on CA, TX, NY, and the other most populated states. States like WY and MT wouldn’t even matter anymore, and wouldn’t even have a voice. It isn’t a popularity contest, even though the dems think it is.

O’blahblah, America’s first black Irish president, isn’t going to be able to BS anybody in the debates the way he did four years ago. 1) He now has a record, and an incredibly dismal record at that. 2) Gov. Romney is far more intelligent than Barry on every level. Gov. Romney has actually accomplished something in his life, whereas, Barry has only failed theory and a losing ideology to guide him.

Barack O’blahblah, despite nearly four years in the White House, has not one single policy in place which will stimulate economic growth and job creation. His policies are doing, and will do, precisely the opposite and every metric used to measure economic growth is currently stagnant.

I am very concerned about this election. Despite the tanking economy as well as the incompetence and deceit this administration is showing with the 9/11 terrorist attack in Libya, Obama is gaining in the polls (if you believe the polls are accurate). It’s all spin, deception, not saying what is actually going on, nuance, and outright lies to protect Obama until the election, then he can do what he wants. I have not seen anything like. Pure politics over such an issue and it’s disgraceful Then you see video of the Obama phone lady and it is scary to think who is voting for Obama, who he is pandering to… GMAFB. This is scary. I cannot believe her vote has as much weight as mine. Wake up people, look at what is going on around you.

O is going to go down in flames without the teleprompter – of course we can count on the “moderator” to help O out quite a bit. Oh what I wouldn’t give for a debate moderated by Brett Baier or Chris Wallace

O has such delusions of grandeur I bet he thinks he can just wing it and nobody will notice and while the “free phone” crowd won’t notice, the rest of us will….

Only if the person behind the teleprompter can get the “correct” answers to Obama in time, will Obama have but a chance in h*ll to win those debates.
The first time I hear one of those canned lies out of his mouth, that tv channel will be changed.
The bottom line to these debates is that it is a waste of tv time and sponsor money.

Even with all of the miss-information they have been putting forward, Obama’s people are running REALLY, REALLY SCARED!

Forget what they say about Romney/Ryan, and listen to what they say/do about themselves. They’re desperate!!!
