Lowering Expectations? DNC Spox Predicts Romney Will Win 1st Debate

Obama Romney

Democratic National Committee spokesman Brad Woodhouse is predicting that Mitt Romney will win the first presidential debate against Barack Obama this week, saying Romney has had more time to prepare while Obama has been running the country.

“Mitt Romney has had a lot more time to debate, the president has not debated in the past four years in terms, of a campaign debate,” Woodhouse told Fox News. “I think the president will hold his own, but he’s not known for sound bites. And these are 60-second, 90-second responses.”

The first debate is on Wednesday in Denver over domestic policy.

Woodhouse added that Democrats are “trying to be realistic about expectations because the president is lucky to be able to devote three consecutive hours to debate preparation.”

According to Fox, Woodhouse gave Romney credit for being a good debater and said he wants to see Obama “talk from his heart about where the country was and where he wants to take the country.”

Woodhouse said he wants to hear specifics from Romney about his economic plans instead of just “zingers.”

“It’s going to be interesting to see if Mitt Romney will bring more than just zingers to get under the president’s skin,” he said. “It would be nice if he came with some substance for example like his tax plan or his plan to voucherize Medicare.”

O is well prepared for distortion & lies…it’s what he does best! It’s mind-boggling that his team are saying,(with a straight face), that he’s been too busy ‘running the country’ to prepare for the debate! More like ‘running AROUND the country’…campaigning, raising money. How stupid do they think we are? Rhetorical question.

President lazy hasn’t changed much from his college days. Since he only works a few hours a day, of course he has little time to prepare for the debate, sheesh! But it’ll be okay, he already has the questions, so the few hours he’s had are more than enough. *No need for the ubiquitous teleprompter, he’ll have the ear piece; his handler Valarie will be whispering every word. (If there’s a jamming device available for that, please Repubs, use it just in case.) All Obama needs is four more years…to complete the decimation of the dollar and the transformation of our democratic republic, and our freedom, into the change Obama promised. No wonder he never said what the change was going to be.

I’m going to be looking for an ear-piece on Obama if his teleprompters aren’t there.

He’ll have Valerie Jarret and crew answering the questions.

I predict Romney will win the first debate and get better each time. That is IF Obama and crew allows a 2nd or 3rd debate. LOL

Look for some “crisis” to cancel the debates…..

Maybe if he didn’t spend so much time on the golf course and extravagant vacations paid for by we the people and appearing on the David Letterman show, The View and hanging out with his rapping hommies he would have time to practice for the debate. The funny thing about this whole thing, both politicians are putting effort into lowering the expectations of this coming debate. Neither Obama nor Romney have supporters that are thrilled that either are there candidates. I rarely see a Romney bumper sticker or sign, and when I see an Obama one, the vast majority of the few that I do see are left over from ’08.

Floating the “official” MSM headline 48 hours in advance of the debate is the signal that following the debate, the headline being pushed (if Obama does poorly ) will be “He’s too busy running the nation to prepare as diligently as Romney”. It’s a pathetic excuse but that seems to be par for the course with this affirmative action man-child CIC. I hope Romney goes after Obama directly, forcing him off his carefully scripted BS….that is the key to victory (in the debates). The GOP better show some serious sack with these golden opportunities.

Wait…BO is NOT known for his sound bites, and Mitt Romney IS known for Zingers!? And, BO could lose the first debate because he has been sooooo busy tending to the business of being president that he didn’t have time to prepare. Finally, Mitt will use the ‘zingers’ rather than real substance, just to get under BO’s skin. Wow…the libprogs really do live in a twisted alternate universe where what they project onto others is really a reflection of themselves. BTW, doesn’t anything and everything get under this president’s skin, unless it is something of his own creation being repeated back or worshipped? This article is typical progressive BS.
Barry’s been busy running the country? Meeting with world leaders? Nope, he didn’t do that. We know he skips his intel briefings, likes to come in late and leave early, with long lunches, play golf, hold bar-b-q parties for his good friends in the media.
But what does he do to run the country? He wont meet with Republicans or Congress. He claims to “lead from behind”, where I live, that’s following.

The debates will be as rigged as the polling we know hear about every 5 minutes on TV (Barry’s ahead in all polling). So using the 2008 model to keep Barry’s numbers up isn’t mentioned, even thought everyone knows it.

The debate will be controlled by one of the Chicago Campaign’s sycophants. Every TV debate will be controlled by a Barry sycophant.
Like the polls, a little edge will be ignored, and the media will declare Barry the winner after the first question is answered.
But pay no attention to the media bias, it really doesn’t exist.

Are there going to be teleprompters at these debates? If Obama isn’t attending 1/2 of the briefings he’s to be present at, he’s had more than 50% of his time that could’ve been used to practice his debating skills. If he didn’t have to spend so much time covering his arse, then perhaps then he could’ve practiced his debating techniques. Obama doesn’t have a good record, do there’s not a whole lot he can say. Obama can go over his campaign promises from the last time around, but since they haven’t been fulfillled, what can he say?

“Romney has had more time to prepare while Obama has been running the country.”

a couple of things wrong with this statement…
    1. it should be “ruining” this country.
    2. Romney has had more time to prepare than obama because obama has been out campaigning.

He said the truth in that Romney will win the debate, but the whole truth is that Romney will win the debate because this debate is over domestic policy. obama has been a disaster to domestic policy. obama raised the debt higher than all the presidents combined – raised the unemployment and kept it there – doubled gas prices – blocked gas production – shut down coal mines – passed the obamacare tax – and is wanting to raise taxes even higher. plus obama knows nothing about how to run a successful business and Romney is a proven, moral based, highly successful businessman!

Since he will be reading the pre-programmed answers his stuttering, duhs, uhs, and I….I..I…..I…Is will be included in the “script.” It may be expected to reach completion by the second debate. The biggest part of the holdup is that being the smartest man in the room, 0bama personally chose the engineers.

That line jumped out at me also…….laughable. He’s been running from any real press, duties or anything that might require a decision. He’s been running to fundraiser after fundraiser. He’s running a right.

Speaking of ” Steely Dan ” on the (can’t buy a thrill) album, Obama crowd should listen 2 ” Only a Fool would say that ” . There is truth in that song.

PROGRESSIVESLAYER, Also glad to read that from you. You have definitely been one of a number of Libertarians here for whom I have the utmost respect. We’ve acknowledged that we have a common and more dangerous opponent in this race. I’ve said it from the beginning, that I have been wary of each and every person who ran in the Republican primary. Unfortunately for me, my favorite was taken out early. I’ve also said that I would have voted for Ron Paul had he won, but he didn’t. And yes, Romney was about my least favorite. But, I will take him over 0bama any time. Simple as that. I do not mean this in an offensive way, but I know some Libertarians still plan to vote their principles. Even though I can understand their passions. In my humble opinion, it is another vote for Ross Perot. Not only that, a thrown away vote just makes it that much easier for 0bama to win again. Already, 0bama has proven himself to be a far worse political horror than Clinton ever could have been.

GOOD SLAYER. I’ll take that as an endorsement for Romney by you and an affirmation BY you that the counter-productive voting of 3rd Party or write-in is just that… counter-productive and and a vote for Obama in the long run. Is that correct?? Lol.

RJJ & TIME 2 It depends on the number of people who support Paul and simply stay home,if it’s high enough to sway it in favor of the heathen then we’re finished. I don’t think people understand the gravity of the situation we find ourselves in with this election.Barry is taking us FORWARD a term used by Marxist pigs all over the world and he must be defeated at all cost. Of course Romney wasn’t my first choice but if he’s able to reduce the size of government and slash spending it’ll be a good start. To my fellow Paul supporters I know how you feel about Romney and his crony capitalism but Barry must be defeated if we’re to have half a chance at salvaging our republic.

Okay SLAYER. Now you’ve gone and done it… you made this old warrior smile (just a little one though… have a reputation to uphold, lol). No more SLAYER bashing from me… you call that bass-turd a “mulatto” all you want… you won’t read a peep outa’ me. Ha!

@RJJ I too would have voted for Ron Paul after all was said and done. I detest Ron Paul and 90% of his ideology (obviously), but our country is worth more than my hate for Ron Paul. Most Paul acolytes can’t say the same thing however regarding most any Republican let alone voting for Romney.

      @ PROGRESSIVESLAYER
Thank you for your Honesty an Conviction.
Mitt Romney has never been my 1st choice
in Fact Sarah Palin is the Only Politician
I Completely Support an will continue to until
She is My President. So I can understand your
      Support for Ron Paul.
But I will be one of the first in line to cast my vote
for Mitt Nov.6th. because Obama must be Defeated
or America is in Serious Trouble.
My only point to add to the discussion would be.
If you Live in a Very RED or BLUE State
an you feel the need to Vote your Conscience
for Gary Johnson or write-in OK.
But if you live in a PURPLE or Battleground State.
Please Don’t throw your Vote away an allow Obama
to Win.We need Landslides in the Purple States to
Combat the Voter Fraud that We know is Allready
in Place. I would personally like to See a 49 State Landslide
      Like Reagan.
But I fear it’s going to come down to either Ohio or Florida
      Deciding the Election.
Again Thanks for your Honesty an I always enjoy your Posts.

please point me to the voter fraud that we all know is happening, and don’t count all that stuff currently going on in Florida, those are Republicans, so that fraud doesn’t count.

MARINE25. The GOP promptly fired a voter registration contractor here in Florida when it found out about possible fraud. How often do the Donkeys police their voter fraud? In fact, they welcome it and make excuses for it.

I would like all you people who say Romney was not your first choice to say who was your first choice because I suspect it was the other RINOs in the race. I have a real hard time believing you all didn’t vote for Romney in the primaries as you seem to just vote for whoever Karl Rove and FOX news tells you to.

JADAMS. How many diehard “do or die” Paul acolytes have now moved on to Johnson, Goode and Cynthia McKinney? Sorry… Cynthia McKinney was a Paul favorate in ’08 along with Ralph Nader.

Anyways, Santorum got my $$ and now Romney’s got my vote.

@TIMETOEND I am a Ron Paul guy but i could have voted for Bachman or Cain to get rid of Obama. However i was not ever going to vote for the establishment repubs. such as Romney,Gingrich,Pawlenty or Santorum. However i do believe if the establishment hadn’t lied for weeks about Romney winning Iowa that Santorum might be the nominee. It is a shame that the establishment picked the worst candidate knowing that people like you would just fall in line and vote for whoever the nominee was just to get rid of Obama. It is also a shame that if people continue to play the establishment game things will never change. As i never tell people how to vote and don’t care what anyone says about how i vote i will only say good luck to you and your vote.
