Paul Ryan: ‘As a Conservative, I’ve Long Believed & Long Felt There Is Inherent Media Bias’

AP
Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan sounded off on media bias, saying that as a conservative he has “long believed and long felt” it.
“I think it kinda goes without saying that there is definitely a media bias,” Ryan told host Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.” “I’m a conservative, Chris, I’m used to media bias. We expected media bias going into this.”
But pressed for specific instances where he felt the Obama campaign had been held to a different standard, Ryan wouldn’t give any examples, saying he wasn’t going to go “tit for tat.”
“As a conservative I’ve long believed and long felt there is inherent media bias,” he said. “And I think anybody with objectivity would believe that that’s the case today.”
Asked whether he believes the mainstream media wants Obama to win, Ryan initially demurred before Wallace pressed him for an answer.
“I think most people in the mainstream media are left of center and therefore they want a very left of center president versus a conservative present like Mitt Romney,” he said.

Posted on September 30, 2012 at 6:16pm“Bias” is prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair.
The media was biased 30-40 years ago. Today, the mainstream media is NOT biased; they’re clearly of unethical, sinister, dishonest, un-American propaganda. It’s like they were all born and raised in Chicago.
Two questions:
What do we do if Obama is re-elected?
What do we do with the cr*p media if Romney is elected?

It will be interesting to see how the various networks scramble after the election. Some will try to drift into the woodwork, others will try to explain away their lack of ethics and blame it on those who hide. Nov. 7 will be the day to watch.

Posted on September 30, 2012 at 5:20pmAgain for all you conservative/libertarian third party candidate people out there please remember the Buckly Rule:
—
18 April 1967, Miami (FL) News, “A Trip Into Idea Land With Bill Buckley” by Bill Barry, pg. 6A, col. 5:
He (William F. Buckley, Jr.—ed.) was asked who would be the wisest Republican choice.
He said: “The wisest choice would be the one who would win. No sense running Mona Lisa in a beauty contest. I’d be for the most right, viable candidate who could win. If you could convince me that Barry Goldwater could win, I’d vote for him.”
Richard Nixon, he said, would be the strongest GOP candidate.
—
If you stand on the right and you want liberty you must stand with the candidate that can win that most closely resemble your beliefs. A non-vote is a vote for the status quo and it is the antithesis of liberty. You vote for what you know 100% will be a loser, consider it a non-vote. The conservative leaning candidate with a chance to win needs every vote they can get. If you want liberty we need Romney/Ryan to win.

Posted on September 30, 2012 at 5:52pmThe problem is the primary was a sham, and we did not pick the best candidate. Romney was chosen before the debates even started. Most of the talking heads were touting Romney, and when that didn’t get everyone on the side of Romney they had to attack the other candidates….It was the GOP that brought down Cain, not the dems….It was the GOP that tried soooo hard to get the public to look at Paul as a kook….they didn’t touch Santorum, or newt because they knew they were Party loyalists (party before people and principle) and would drop out eventually.
This game doesn’t work anymore…..GOP has lost a good chunk of their members…a lot still carry the card but have no faith in the GOP…..and for you black and white world people that does not mean those members are now in support of Obama…and a vote for another person is a vote for real change, and a voice of disdain for how our parties are corrupt……The votes might not tally up or make it to mainstream media, but the people that matter will know the truth, and find out we are sick of it all with our vote….you can perceive it how you want and point fingers, but that is how we perceive it, because in the end Obama/Romney there is no difference but pace….

Posted on September 30, 2012 at 8:52pmThe so called Buckley Rule may have been valid in 1967, but not now. Back then, JFK and LBJ were leftward, and Nixon and Goldwater were rightward, not a big deal. America was still strong and much more free than today, and was invincible against every evil she came up against, the defender of liberty’s torch! Then the Franco-Germanic Luddites concluded they could never beat us in a fair fight, so they changed strategy. Enter George Soros and Carroll Quigley’s Tragedy and Hope mob. Using phoney labels like “Social Justice” they began to disembowel us from the inside, and thanks to their re-education programs we now have kids coming out of school who no longer believe in America and her Constitution, and no longer know what a great country America was. Our own children now form the relentless phalanx of attack zombies. Instead of a war against evil we are now in a war for our own survival, on all fronts – social, financial, Constitutional, etc. The labels “left” and “right” no longer apply, now it’s either up, towards Heaven, or down, towards Hell. 1790 was Heaven, and 2013 will be pure Hell. Now we have presidents who want to destroy America. As Voltaire said, “if God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent Him.” Better pray hard and keep your powder dry.

Posted on October 1, 2012 at 1:40amSeriously, grow up. The Buckley rule gave you decades of RINOs. It gave you a police state and a 16 tr national debt and 20 years of war.
You idiots keep prattling on about this false dichotomy y’all have set up in your own mind…see where it gets you. For now this is STILL the United State where a person can walk into a voting booth and vote their conscience. Telling someone who doesn’t want to vote for 18Tr of new debt in the 28 years it takes the Ryan plan to balance the budget, who doesn’t want Romneycare, who doesn’t want more ware, who doesn’t want a police state that if they don’t vote for Romney that they are part of the problem is sheer lunacy.
Look at records and a history of public commentary. Look at who people are. Look at what they’ve done. You look at the history and the platform and tell me that as a conservative that Romney is a better choice than Virgil Goode. You try to make that case and I’ll listen. But take the whole, “a vote 3rd party is a vote for Obama” scam and shove it.

Posted on September 30, 2012 at 4:43pmBesides that fact that this is largely an irrelevant question to ask a potential office holder, the answer provided gives some insight. I think it is important to note that Mr. Ryan gave a typical answer expected of a politician, which is speak a lot, but say nothing. The fact of the matter is that he is making an accusation against the media, but he shirks giving examples. A principled person should be able to back any statement they are willing to make. How can he expect people to trust him if he uses the same tactics as the people he his running against, that being: accuse without providing evidence.

Posted on September 30, 2012 at 5:30pmNo, Ryan was just smart enough not to take the bait! But it’s not bias! The word “bias” is an understatement! It’s literal collusion!
Have we so soon forgotten that just 2-3 years ago, an insider blew the lid off of the collusion of an online club of liberal journalists and editors from various news organizations, including many famous ones, in their own password-protected internet forum that were literally conspiring together to guide the news and the portrayal of said news. The insider blew the whistle on the collusion that was taking place, revealing numerous postings of many of the people in the group. How else can it be explained when stories appear in various news outlets on the same days, sometimes literally using the same verbiage on the same days? Those stories weren’t Reuters or AP! But the propaganda press have buried that story, too — the one about their own collusion! That’s more than mere bias. It’s complicity with an agenda!
Your mockery and dismissiveness of this “bias” suggests that you are both in defiance of history and in denial of reality, since the group did — and still does — exist. Are you therefore ignorant, gullible, or also complicit? Your dismissiveness of this reality indicates something very fundamental about you — that you are willingly eager to mislead and to be mislead to advance an agenda — the same agenda as the propaganda media!
The mainstream media isn’t merely biased. They are COMPLICIT. They are the PROPAGANDA P

Not answering “Where do you see the bias?” would not be an example of not taking the bait, because it isn’t a baited question. It is a straightforward question, all he would have to do is give an example, not a blanket statement that “it’s obvious”, because to many in America who don’t pay attention to these things, they don’t realize that there is a bias. If it’s baited in the sense that the opposition media will take what he says and twist it out of context, then answering shouldn’t matter because they will twist what he says regardless.
I will ignore your ad-hominem, since it doesn’t contribute to the discussion. Just some advice, the fact that I take time to read stories from the Blaze should be indicative of where I get my news information. By the way I haven’t watched TV in over 4 years and generally get my news from sites that wouldn’t be considered mainstream.
@BCANOOK
I’m sure they are self-evident, but as someone who rarely pays attention to “mainstream” news, it doesn’t bother me. However, you can’t reach out to other voters if you accuse and don’t offer evidence. Facts are what matter; saying that media bias exists without giving an example is just an opinion with no proof.

And keep in mind Soros, a member of the American CFR helped establish it’s European counter part. You should look it up. I’ve verified it, if you haven’t YOU’RE the one who is stupid. Of course, believing a politician’s rhetoric over their actions isn’t all that bright either. When they tell me that Paul Ryan is a conservative and fiscal genius and then i look at his voting record and realize it is a complete lie it drives me crazy. It is an insult to my intelligence to tell me his voting record doesn’t matter and i should just ignore it and vote for the republican no matter how bad he is. To this day he continues to vote to spend more money while claiming fiscal conservatism on the campaign trail. The only thing worse than democrats lies are republicans excuses!

I don’t understand collective stupidity. Since Romney won’t publish a plan we only have the Ryan plan. You can go out and get all of the data and proposals from the web, it isn’t hard. You can them slam them into a spreadsheet and do the math yourself (not you…anyone). The plan adds 18Tr in debt over 28 years of deficits to balance the budget. Conservative? Fiscal genius?
I haven’t had one apologist try to take me on regarding the economics of the plan. Not one! Either they are lemmings too lazy/stupid to do the math or they already know the deal and don’t care. So if you add Owebama’s 47% to Romney’s 47% you have 94% of the country who either is cool with this concept, too stupid to understand it, or too chicken-$&!& to stand up against it.

Posted on September 30, 2012 at 3:56pmYou already can call a great American patritot Mr. Vice President. Ryan on the other hand is a lap dog for the rich with his immoral budget plan that he refuses to discuss.
Ryan is in danger of being ou of a job come November, Romney/Ryan outside of the rich and the brainwashed Fox viewers, by all polls are losing the election and Ryna is in a close race for his house seat.

Posted on September 30, 2012 at 4:52pmAh yes, lambast the evil rich. Those tycoons who sit in cigar-smoke filled cabals of doom plotting their next dastardly deed to demean the proletariate.
As predictable as the sun rising.
Yawn, you’re getting kinda old.
Not to mention too old for this.
