(TheBlaze/AP) — Police say two people are dead and another is injured after a shooting at a central Florida Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
Winter Springs Police said a charity motorcycle ride was supposed to depart from the post when the shooting broke out Sunday morning while the riders were eating breakfast. The Orlando Sentinel (http://tinyurl.com/8b75k99) reports an unknown number of armed men came in and began firing. It’s unclear if any of the attendees shot back.
Winter Springs Police spokesman Lt. Doug Steeley said the agency has detained several people and confiscated a number of weapons.
“We have a lot of crime scene…” Seely remarked. “We have a lot of people detained and a lot of weapons detained, and we’re ascertaining what matches what.”
VFW posts around the country care for veterans and their families.
This is a breaking news story. Updates will be added.

Sep. 30, 2012 at 11:53pmAm VERY SURE more people died in Chicago by gun shots this weekend by gang members.
At least these “gangs” were trying to do something good before the chaos ensued….unlike in Chicago, Oakland, Detroit, Arizona Border…..and on and on and on….
This will be on the front page of the NYTimes tomorrow….”White US Veteran Motorcycle Gang”

Sep. 30, 2012 at 10:08pm3 are DEAD… All 3 were Warlocks… the 2 shooters were ex-Warlocks… 2 of the dead WERE FREINDS of mine… I didnt know the third… this had nothing to do with the Veterans… The VFW was simply the venue for a charity run… as are many VFW halls… I am a U.S. Navy Veteran of 28 yrs service… while tragic, this is not a reason to bash bikers… we happen to be the most charitable people IN this COUNTRY… There are “runs” all over the U.S. EVERY WEEK to help people… the facts are the facts… and we all know the “news” (even the Blaze) doesnt always get the facts straight…

While the motorcycle persona of scruffy looks, leather jackets, extra loud exhausts and other things make it seem that all motorcycle “Gangs” are anti-social ruffians, in fact, they do a lot of good. Here in my area, riders have had “Poker runs” in order to raise money for many causes from sick children, accident victims to cancer victims unable to meet their bills and expenses.

Sep. 30, 2012 at 9:37pmAfter reading all of these comments, I have to say that all of your guessing is dead WRONG!! I live in Florida, in fact, this happened close to home. The only thing any of you got right was the MC name. Yes, they were at the VFW attending a charity event to raise money for downed bikers. This was not an attack on the VFW nor on any civilians, this club was in fact WELCOMED by all. Many of my friends were at this event, and I was suppose to be there as well, but opted to stay home today. Wearing a patch does not make you “trash” as it was put. I happen to know one of the men who was killed today…he has a family, a wife and a baby on the way and many, many people who loved, respected and admired him, who are mourning the loss of his life. He was a good man, working hard at changing the image of what most “think” they are. As to the other two victims, they were good solid men as well. WE as bikers do a LOT of charity events, yes, even all the “big name” MC’s. I have no affiliation with any club other than knowing them as people. And just like with civilians, there are good and bad in every crowd. As to “what” took place today, well that’s simply not my place to say. I will however say that it was unjust, uncalled for and a down right tragedy. The lives of many in my community will forever be changed by this. So before you go judging other people, first, make sure your own hands are clean.

Sep. 30, 2012 at 9:49pmGod bless you, we agree fully. we had a ”scary” MC called on while they were partying at our house, the nosey democrat neighbors called the sheriffs dept to report we had a “scary” “drugs and guns” MC at our rural house..
when the sheriff arrived, he found ‘THE BLUE KNIGHTS’…yes, fellow police officers etc who ride motorcycles, we were having a charity BBQ for them. our brother [former US Army MP and in the sheriff dept one county over ] among the “scary” out of town riders.

Thanks for that info. I live in Florida also and the local news has very little info about what exactly happened. I would appreciate any facts that you “can” share. I’ve been riding for 39 years but, I’m a loner and have never been in a MC “club”.
Saying that… the “clubs” I have seen in my life are a bit, well, lacking in character. I apologize if I generalized any of these bikers.

Been in the biker community for years. Probably more years than you’ve been alive.
I know that 1% ers sometimes take exception even with vet groups. Sometimes, it’s all about the “patch” and some idiot’s idea of ‘respect.’

Sep. 30, 2012 at 6:44pmIn the Photo attached to the article the police are questioning a member of the Warlocks motorcycle gang. That is all I needed to see to understand this. Motorcycle gangs like the Hells Angles, the War lords, the Banditos, The Outlaws, etc. are all very territorial and violent. They are constantly at war with each other. When these guys show wearing their Colors (their identifying vests) the VFW should have had enough sense to shut this operation down. I am sure you will find some vets in these groups but the bottom line is they are outlaw clubs and you can expect violence.

Sep. 30, 2012 at 6:10pmIt had to be 1% scooter trash attacking civilians. They have their own ‘clubhouses’ to hang in, or have parties in secluded groves, and the like. They do not hang out at VFWs. They had a purpose for what they did. It was either drugs, money, or possibly even over a woman. I’ve seen it happen before. Luckily, from a distance.

Sep. 30, 2012 at 5:50pmThere is not enough information here to deduct anything right now, other than there was a shooting. I’ve rapidly glanced through about a dozen stories on the net about this, but other than a few word changes, they are exact duplicates of this version.
At the moment it sounds to me as if it involves two rival motorcycle gangs, oops, motorcycle clubs. One was obviously mad about the other’s involvement. Or, may have been over drugs, guns, or any other sort of contraband and this was the perfect place to catch most of one club in a single place. But, maybe we’ll find out soon enough.

Sep. 30, 2012 at 5:11pmI suspect the BIKERS ARE THE POLICE. Even over the past year, police have been shooting innocent people when caught in a mexican standoff with someone else with a gun. They usually make tense situations worse and potentially fatal situations into a massacre. The largest gang in the United States is wearing a badge.

Sep. 30, 2012 at 8:21pmHi RJJ,
Here’s a good one for you. The Sunday before 9/11/2001 my Korean War fighter pilot buddy and I were at Best Buy looking for Spanish language CD’s. I got a cold chill up my spine when I saw an Arabic language CD. I froze enough that my friend asked me what was wrong. I said I didn’t know but something was just wrong with that CD. I chose the Mandarin Chinese CD instead saying that my teacher told me in 1990 that the Chinese were going to own us if we don’t get our act together. I figured that if I could speak their language they couldn’t talk behind my back without me knowing what they were saying.
10 am on 9/11 my friend called me and said I might be right about the Arabic CD. : (

Christians and Conservatives are purposely being pushed into a corner by the Satan worshipping Liberals, just to see how far they can push us until we push back.
Then the media will have a field day, only reporting on what the Christians and Conservatives have done. There will be no reporting on the evil deeds that were done over and over to Christians and Conservatives, that finally made us snap, and fight back.
