Top White House Adviser Defends Obama’s Decision to Fundraise After Libya Terror Attack

White House senior adviser David Plouffe on Sunday defended President Barack Obama’s decision to attend a Las Vegas fundraiser after the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya, saying he is “on call 24/7.”

NBC “Meet the Press” host David Gregory asked Plouffe whether knowing that the Libya assault was a terrorist attack made it seem inappropriate in retrospect to engage in “politics as usual.”

“No,” Plouffe replied. “The president obviously is 24/7 engaged in the job of the presidency. He has spent an enormous amount of time in these weeks, by the way, in the aftermath of this terrible tragedy. So absolutely not. A president is on call 24/7, and that just comes with the job.”

When Gregory pointed out that “24/7″ didn’t extend meeting with foreign leaders in New York for the United Nations General Assembly, but did put in an appearance on “The View.”

“This president has been obviously in constant contact throughout these four years with world leaders,” Plouffe said.

It’s a similar argument that senior Obama campaign adviser Robert Gibbs gave last week when he said Obama is the “president of the United States every minute of every day.”

This sorry Admin, the DNC, the MSM should take a very long hard cold look at themselves in the mirror. I believe the average Jane/Joe has had it up to thier eyeballs with the BS games this Admin and it’s apologists in the MSM have callously run. This coming election is now Romney and Ryans to lose…I believe Obama (the Libya debacle, the pandering to the MB, the snub of Israel, among a multitide of other really stupid moves) is in very big trouble (and so he should be…this race if the MSM had been honest and held the Feds feet to the fire would have forced the DNC to nominate someone else).

  The regime has a lot riding on how the media treats Benghazigate.
  Zero continued to campaign in Vegas and turned over in bed going back to sleep hearing about the death of Stevens is not the headline they are looking for. Stevens is a hot topic for them. He knew waaaay too much was involved in funneling arms to terrorists that took out the terrorist Ghaddafi. They don’t need everything he knew of in the news.
  Probably the worst thing about Stevens,and most damaging to the regime, is that he was gay and to turn an ambassador loose in a country running wild with terror types knowing what they do to infidels much less gay infidels is just plain reckless on the part of the regime.
  They will say whatever they need to say or do whatever the need to do to keep the drivebys under control. The media are the secret to zero getting reelected. If the truth gets out on Benghazi gate zero is finished.If not impeached.

  Coomunists and revolutionaries have a very negative impact on common sense, values, honesty, virtue, ethics etc…what we see today in the Obama Admin and the DNC in general is the complete lack of what it took to build the nation, to Govern it responsibly etc…The GOP has trayed from that course as well but not nearly as badly as the Democrats have. I find it hard to believe that no Dems are willing to speak out in the face of what is being done by thier own damn party. The Dems IMO might as well change thier name to the Communist Party of USA. I’m so sick and tired of White House Spokesman and women telling us what is “obvious”. Obvious he is doing a good job, obvious he is working hard, obvious he is 24/7.

No, what the thinking person sees as obvious is that we were attacked on 9/11 on his watch, obvious he has been in full 24/7 campaign mode during his entire 4rth year, obvious his plans for stimulus, health care, green energy, anti fuel, pro-islam, and anti-capitalism do not work, and obvious he has no clue what he is doing as far as helping Americans or following the constitution. It is obvious you can’t spend your way out of debt.

Obviously the MSM is in bed with this guy. Obvious by his friends what he believes (just list his strong supporters and it should be obvious as to if he is good for America). Soros, Cuba, Pro-communist, etc, etc, etc. Why do you think those guys want him in power? It should be obvious. Romney may not be the best candidate we have ever had, but based on his supporters he ought to be judged as a trillion times better than the alternative of four more years.

  Any president, truly dedicated to the job of protecting the United States from enemies both foreign and domestic, would have cancelled anything so frivilous as a fundraiser and stayed in Washington to be on top of the situation. The arrangements for a video presentation could have been arranged very quickly.
  
  Obama is a disgrace to the office of the president and to the country as a whole. He is no more concerned about America then he would be about a fly killed by a flyswatter in the White House dining room.

…on call 24/7? Really? So, did he answer the phone at 3am when he got the call about the murders in our embassy? Nope, so much for that 24/7 BS. News flash, Obama, It’s the job of the federal Government to protect United States citizens, Obama, that means our ambassadors abroad as well as our citizens at home (closing borders would seem to me to be rather important…). Unless someone can point out a more lazy President, Obama is head and shoulders above even the worst. But, what can you expect from our entitled and entitlement Prez, he doped and partied his way through college, was said to be the worst teacher at Univ. of Chicago (sorry, NEVER a Professor, even though he called himself that. Interestingly, but not surprising, MSM never mentioned that pesky little lie, but called Ryan out for misrepresenting his marathon time – a 2 on Obama’s 10 in the “misspoken” arena.), so why would any job he undertook be any different? I love reading all about how Obama (and Michelle-my-job-was-to-steer-poor-away-from-my-hospital Obama) chose to give up his law license rather than have it taken away for some kind of fraud…oh wait, those records are sealed. What we need is the same people on OUR side that helped Obama unseal divorce records of his opponent, so he could win the senate race. Too bad half the citizens of the US have not been paying attention during the Obama years in office, if they had, his poll ratings (adjusting for skewed polling) would be closer to 20% (if that)

Obama should had cancelled all campaigning and stayed at the W.H. to deal with this situation. I also think it would have helped him in the polls. People would have seen that maybe he cares. There is more to this story then meets the eye. The American people need to know the truth. I do not like what Obama is doing to this country and I pray that he is defeated.

No matter who is responsible, this admin is the most despicable, traitorous America haters who don’t give a hoot about its citizens except to enslave us. Their complete control of this country, over our lives, and allowing the muslims to infiltrate to destroy us is the only mission on their agenda they must accomplish. The media aiding and abetting these enemies in our WH to overthrow our Constitution and rules of law make them traitors as well.

George Bush would have been ripped to shreds by the media, if he had attended campaign rallies and fundraisers after a terrorist attack.
Bush gave up playing golf, because the media pointed out that he should not be playing golf while America was in a crisis.

America has been in a major crisis ever since Obama was elected, but he still golfs, throws parties, vacations, attends campaign rallies and fundraisers. I don’t think he’s done a full day’s work since he was sworn in.

Who the hell is Plouffe taling at? And, I do mean ‘talking at!’ The confirmed left wing will go along naturally, as well the confirmed right is already set in their ways to be against him. Does he think the minuscule number of undecided will lend credence to this pandering? Plouffe would have been better off ignoring this subject. But, thankfully for us, he will continue to make a fool of himself, and I can really use the entertainment these days.

You do know the Republican congress could have made a power play and cut Obama’s funding to be evil, don’t you? But, your guy thinks Obama should have the right to whack any American without due process if he feels threatened by them. I am opposed to the police state and total disregard for privacy.
