A man in Atlanta, Georgia, is claiming he was targeted by a parking officer for the Mitt Romney bumper sticker displayed on the back of his car.

The man is not contesting that he was parked illegally and says he will pay the ticket, but says he was disturbed by the way the officer handled the situation.

Saying the woman seemed upset by the sticker, the man recalled her saying something along the lines of, “Oh, I’m definitely going to give you a ticket now.”

“It sounded like she was almost insulted by the fact that I had a Mitt Romney sticker on the back of my car,” he added.

Georgia Republican Party Chairman Sue Everhart commented: “I am just amazed that this happened in this city, and I know this is not what Mayor Reed would like to see his employees do. It reflects on the whole city.”

Fox5 reporter Morse Diggs added: “What can you make of a statement like that? Would it mean that if the parking officer had noticed that the vehicle had an Obama sticker on it, she would have used her discretion and not slapped a ticket on the vehicle?”

  You would not believe the people that I see behind me taking pictures of my SUV with all the anti hussain stickers on it. There are three very prominent stickers with them NRA, National Association For Gun Rights, and United States Concealed Carry Association.

  You put a Romney sticker on your car in this liberal area and you will be lucky that you don’t get your car keyed or damaged while it is parked. I would love to have Romney and other stickers on my car but I don’t want to pay for getting the paint damage fixed.

Cars have been vandalized for pro GOP, pro life, or pro Christian bumper stickers during OWS riots or in Parking lots. As a manager, I receive regular reports of employee cars vandalized for this reason and have not had a single report of any pro dem, pro choice, pro union, or any other progressive support related vandalism. We have had no reports of pro 2nd amendment related vandalism.

  On my last vehicle, I had a NRA sticker and a MAGPUL on the back. A few months after I moved into a new neighborhood, I left for work in the morning and found one of my tires had been conveniently punctured by about 6 nails in the sidewall. Replaced the tire, happened again a month later to a different tire. A few days later, the Prius with all the left wing extremist crap all over it “magically” ended up with all four tires slashed and sand in the gas tank…(wasn’t me “I swear”). Never bothered me again. They did move away soon, though. The smell in the neighborhood got better.

  Sadly it’s a well know fact in south Florida that your car will be trashed IF a Romney or any other republican bumper sticker is displayed. It’s a MOB thing just like the current administration that does nothing to stop violence against “normal” people, but the ANIMALS AND UNION THUGS are protected by Oblamer and cronies. sickening when u can’t even put a bumper sticker on your car.

  ANYDAYS, the exact opposite happened to me. I turned the corner one second before the light turned from yellow to red, a clear violation. The cop stopped me half a block away. I have a yellow “Don’t Tread On Me” bumper sticker. You know, the Tea Party emblem with the snake. And he said, “I could give you a one hundred and eighty dollar ticket for that violation. But I like your bumper sticker, so I’m going to let you off with a warning.” Fortunately for me, my car will never get keyed because Obama’s moronic supporters have no idea what the Gladstone Flag represents.

  I do the same thing Lynda…I used to have many pro conservative/homeschool bumper stickers on my car. Then I started noticing scratches and vandalism. Now with my new car, I just remove it when I park. Now at home we have our conservative lawn signs along with a empty chair that represents Obama and his absent leadership for the past 3 1/2 years!!!! We get lots of comments!

This parking officer had no business”opening” or voicing her opinion or bias in uniform. People are really getting hostile and it is ALL OBAMA’s doing. I’d tell you to keep your stickers in place, and park where camera are visible, but that’s not always possible. Keep a gun in your possession at all times.   Hi LYNDA, that’s very funny, because I placed an order for Romney/Ryan bumper stickers and a yard sign. I read so many bad things that Libs do to the cars with R&R stickers. So, when I got an email for conformation that my orders are on the way, I was thinking to just take them off when I park on public places…To Liberals, take this as an example of not being trustworthy. Right now you’re treated as criminals…That doesn’t feel good…does it?!?!?!?!

All Atlanta patrol vehicles are equipped with on-board cameras and highly sensitive microphones, so if the APD has nothing to hide, a simple fix would be to come forward with the audio and video and call this gentleman out on his claim, right?

Funny….I never met or heard of anyone afraid of showing support of Obama or Progressive/Liberal beliefs. However, I constantly hear of people afraid of expressing Conservative principles or their support of Romney publicly. Odd, considering it’s Conservatives who are supposedly intolerant.

  @HYPNOTOAD, I would like to respectfully disagree. It IS good vs. evil, but it has nothing to do with God. I’m not religious, but I was raised with values, and I know right from wrong. My best friend is atheist, but he’s the kind of guy who’d give you the last shirt off his back. We would never do any of the stuff moonbats are doing. On the other hand, how many religious serial killers, pedophiles, and mass murderers there have been? A LOT. I am a very strong conservative, and i live in Spokane, WA, a very conservative city, and I have yet to see a Romney bumper sticker on somebodys car..I see more Ron Paul stickers

  Living in the older part of the city in Tampa, FL – a Democrat leaning district – I am watching the increasing number of Romney signs on a daily basis — both in yards and on autos — as compared to the number of Obama signs in the 2008 election. Currently, the Romney signage out numbers the Obama signs approx. 12 to 1. To be clear, there is only ONE Obama sign in the neighborhood and during last election there were many for Obama. A lot of my neighbors have switched support this year and from an “one the ground” perspective, I think that we have a less biased view of the support for the nominees.

So now even the police can speak out…but we can’t. The only time I can have yard signs in my area is during the day….must take them in at night or they are stolen. I am 2 blocks from the police station.
A neighbor told me a story his son, a police officer, told him. The officer was called to a house because a residents yard sign “for gay marriage” was taken and the office asked if he knew who took it and the man replied that he did, “It was one of those conservatives”. Well, first of all I don’t believe this because the signs “for gay marriage” are everywhere and I have only seen 2 of the opposing – and mine get stolen every time I leave them out at night.

  I suppose you could put a very fine wire around the edge of the sign and hook it up to an electric fence controller. And night vision cameras for watching wildlife are fairly cheap nowadays, so you could likely do both and have some entertainment to boot!

This shouldn’t be too shocking, people put those highway patrol stickers and back the blue stickers on the backs of their cars in the hopes of getting more warnings than citations. The fact that a officer of the law would use politics to make judgement calls on who to prosecute and who not to shouldn’t be news. Keep your noses clean, Gibson Guitars found out the hard way how backing the wrong political horse can cause the authorities to hunt you down.

Someone slashed my tire on my truck last friday and I am firmly convinced it was because of the “Veterans for Romney” sticker. I have an unassuming 1982 Chev Pickup. Who would slash the tires on a work truck? I drove around here for YEARS. This is getting crazy. It is becoming acceptable to break the law if you are doing against someone from the “other side.”

  Don’t forget that the police are union. This officer knows that Obama is for the unions and Romney is not. I think people are reluctant to put Romney stickers on their car knowing that there are so many union people out there that might take offense. Think about all the truck drivers, toll workers, etc. that might want to intimidate these people. Some of them are from Occupy Wall Street who did so much violence.

  Hey, don’t think all cops are clean. There are a lot of ‘em dirty as can be. Saying that, there are many who are good, decent citizens who uphold the laws and are respectable.
  What we have to do is report the bad ones who use something like this to make a point. If they want to be stupid liberals, it reflects who they are: bad cops. You find a bunch of them over the years.
