Former Dem Strategist Rebukes Media on ‘O’Reilly Factor’: ‘A Purposeful…Effort to Suppress News That Might Hurt Obama’

Former Dem Pollster Pat Caddell Slams the Press in Bill OReilly Interview

Former Democratic pollster Pat Caddell is angry with the mainstream media over what he sees as a bias so blatant that it is very literally threatening the democratic process. In an interview with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly on Monday night, he called the media out over its coverage of Obama and the recent attack on the American embassy in Benghazi, Libya.

Here’s what Caddell told O’Reilly about the media’s alleged complicity with the Obama administration’s agenda:

“Whether its organized or a straight conspiracy — everybody’s in on it and they’re all doing it…It’s a purposeful, conscious effort to suppress news that might hurt Obama. And we have gone down a slippery slope here. Look Bill, we’ve had liberal bias or bias in the press for a long time, for many years. But it’s gotten worse starting in 2008.

But now we’ve got a press that is actively engaged in a reelection – putting out a narrative that Romney is a loser, they’re running polls…But Romney’s not my issue here. More importantly they not only decided to support Obama. On this issue the last two weeks what we see is a press that has decided that it will not tell the American people the truth…now telling the people what truth they may know and what truth they may not know.”

This is reflective of the same sentiments that Caddell delivered in an interview with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly on Monday about the anti-American violence that unfolded in Libya. As previously reported, Caddell took aim at the media and blasted President Obama for campaigning in Las Vegas after U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed in a terrorist attack in Benghazi.

The commentator said that even former President Jimmy Carter, who he worked under, refused to campaign during national security threats during the 1980 election, most notably the Iranian hostage crisis.

These comments, though, are nothing new from Caddell. During a September 21 Accuracy in Media event, he also proclaimed, “We are at the most dangerous time in our political history in terms of the balance of power in the role of that the media plays in whether we maintain a free democracy or not.”

Here are some of the other comments he made about Obama, the media and Libya during that address:

When we see what happened this week in Libya—and when I said I was more frightened than I’ve ever been, this is true, because I think it’s one thing that, as they did in 2008, when the mainstream press, the mainstream media and all the press, jumped on the Obama bandwagon and made it a moral commitment on their part to help him get elected in a way that has never happened, whatever the biases in the past. [...]

But I want to talk about this Libyan thing, because we crossed some lines here. It’s not about politics. First of all, we’ve had nine days of lies over what happened because they can’t dare say it’s a terrorist attack, and the press won’t push this. Yesterday there was not a single piece in The New York Times over the question of Libya. [...]

It is one thing to bias the news, or have a biased view. It is another thing to specifically decide that you will not tell the American people information they have a right to know, and I choose right now, openly, and this is—if I had more time I’d do all the names for it—but The New York Times, The Washington Post, or the most important papers that influence the networks, ABC, NBC, and, to a lesser extent—because CBS has actually been on this story, partly because the president of Libya appeared on [Bob Schieffer’s “Face the Nation”] and said, on Sunday, while [U.S. Ambassador to the U.N.] Susan Rice was out—the U.N. ambassador has no portfolio on this matter—lying, said of the secretary—you know why, notice the Secretary of State wasn’t out there doing this—was on national television, lying and promoting the White House line while the Libyan president, the very same moment, is saying “This is a premeditated attack.”

Caddell has continued to advance his views on the media and the Obama administration’s handling of the crisis. Considering the American public’s record level of distrust for mainstream media, he’ll likely have a sympathetic ear among the masses.

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos declares Obama the winner of tomorrow’s debate. His record of declaring democrat candidate debate victories since 2000 now stands at 9 of 10. What is so unusual regarding his latest debate victory declaration is he was talking in his sleep when he blurted out the declaration: “President Obama was on his A game tonight destroying Romney’s factual, yet awkwardly stated positions with articulate eloquence that although factually questionable, appealed to the American people!”

In my opinion the reason this Counties staggering $16+ Trillion Debt has failed to spark outrage with the electorate is because 99% of people have no understanding of what just one Trillion Dollars is let alone what $16+ is. It‘s a word that doesn’t conjure up an image in their mind,so passes through undisturbed.
The voters need to have a picture in their mind to understand how deep a hole we as a Country are in.
Please google “What does a Trillion Dollars Look Like” and understand that what you see is just 1 Trillion. After your rage dies down send your own message along with the link to everyone you know.

  He’s their ‘tool’ to keep their banks propped up. $6.4 Trillion in debt that’s been funnelled through them in 4 years, trying to keep them(Zombie banks) alive.
  Now his man, Bernanke, is going to buy at least $40 Bill a month, of toxic Mortgage debt, from them. If BHO can get back in, they will steal even more from dollar holders around the world. The media is run by the same people in NYC.

Hannity always say that media died back in 2008. Pat’s a bleeding liberal but even he realizes the ramifications of a media that no longer doing what the Constitution protects them to do. In essence, the main stream has become a wing of the BO administration. Just plain sad. Now only the bloggers are doing the muckracking which use to be done by the news media. At least we still have the muck rakers. :)
