Immediately following the first presidential debate on Thursday night, Current TV’s political panel was anything but enthusiastic about the results. In fact, most of the talking heads covering the event for the network seemed to indicate that they were majorly disappointed with President Barack Obama’s performance.
Cenk Uygur, host of “The Young Turks” and Eliot Spitzer, host of “Viewpoint,” were two of the more openly-negative commentators. As soon as the debate came to a close, Uygur joked about the people who had taken to the stage after the candidates finished.
“You’re looking at Denver there, where there’s people on stage looking for President Obama’s mouthpiece,” he quipped, joking about the Democratic contender’s performance.
While he went on to say that he hopes the debates don’t matter and that, regardless of how the candidates perform during the campaign, November is already decided in the president’s favor, the pundit was candid about his fears.
“If they (the debates) matter, Romney did a great job tonight,” Uygur proclaimed, later adding, ”This was not a good night.”
Watch this portion of the broadcast, below:
Not long after Uygur’s comments were made, former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer voiced his own alarm on the same broadcast.
“Here’s why progressives should be worried. The performance tonight from President Obama isn’t the guy we wanted to elect,” Spitzer said. “We elected somebody who was strong, who had vision, who had capacity to articulate and energize people. That isn’t the president people want to see…He’s got to come back as a different person.”

Oct. 4, 2012 at 3:29pmYOu know why he did poorly? Cuz he doesn’t give a crap about liberals. They are just “useful idiots” to him.
When are people going to wake up that it was MALCOM X who was Obummer’s dad??? Read his speeches/interviews and the CHANGE he wanted is happening NOW. They look the same, same height/weight/body frame and he was a community organizer too. OMG why aren’t more people seeing that it is MALCOM X who was his dad???? Don’t believe me? Do your own homework. Even Eric Holder wanted the name changed of a building to the “Malcom X lounge.”

Oct. 4, 2012 at 10:29amThese guys are too stupid to realize that the Obama they saw last night is the Obama they helped get elected. JHis performance wabsn’t”off”. That was the real Obama – “the smartest guy in the room”.
He never should have been elected {Preisident. He surely gives the same kind of performance when he’s negotiation with foreign leaders. Weak, nervous & without backbone.

Oct. 4, 2012 at 10:35amYeah–and how’bout those telleprompter-less speaches he gave to SCIU and other private-meetings! There was the anti-collonialist/commie shouting and being completely succinct with perfect diction!! He was ranting-raving with no stutters and stammers or any “uuummm’s/and-ahhh’s”!! Bit, when HE-The King-O’ hasto tell truth “on-cammera” he needs telleprompter to keep his [Anti-Collonialism] from showing up!!

Oct. 4, 2012 at 9:50amI guess the only thing you can say is, “better late than never.” Unfortunately, a whole lot of America saw that Obama was not what he presented himself to be, and voted against him in 2008. I hope and pray enough people see the light that we are able to fire him on Nov. 6th.

Oct. 4, 2012 at 1:20pmI wasn’t that surprised at all. Obama had to go face to face, in real-time and without the MSM acolytes doing the PR for him. He got exposed for what he truly is – a arrogant, untruthful fraud. I was much, much pleased with the outcome. Up until now, he’s relied on the media goofs to do all the talking, ridiculing, and campaigning for him – and he finally had to do it himself – AND CHOKED. bwahahaha

Oct. 4, 2012 at 9:26amOf course he’s not “the president people want to see”! He’s a complete phony and it was on national display last night. You clowns on the left have been duped by this forked-tongued snake oil salesman and the rest of us have been stuck with his sorry @$$ for the last four years. He had to debate a REAL MAN last night and the result was embarrassing, to say the least. But don’t worry, libs. There are two more debates to go and Governor Romney is going to bury him completely. I’ll bet O’blahblah, America’s first black, Irish president, would love donations made to his MOVING FUND!

Oct. 4, 2012 at 7:00amActually that was EXACTLY the president that I wanted to see. He was shown to be exactly what he is, an empty suit. Once he had to stand face to face with someone who actually knows what he is talking about, could destroy his lies and didn’t have a teleprompter to read he crumbled. Couple that with a moderator that for the most part didn’t help him he didn’t stand a chance. 0bama is a complete fraud and is an evil little man. Last night showed that to the world and everyone except the die hard completely blind fools who have sold their souls to the devil could see it. Yes, that is EXACTLY what I wanted to see in this president.
I predict that the next 2 presidential debates will have the same outcome. It isn’t a right vs left thing, it is a good vs evil thing.
Liberalism is a mental disorder. Progressives are a virus. Democrats are Godless.

Oct. 4, 2012 at 5:17amAnd yet the liberal governor who had the Howard Dean moment at the 2012 DNC convention came out and told the progressives, ‘don’t worry’ about this debate: http://www.thedailycandidate.com/video/2012/oct/granholm_progressives_worry.html As if she knew something was going to happen to turn the tides… SCARY.

Oct. 4, 2012 at 3:48amObama doesn’t even look Presidential, but tonight he proved it. But the most important thing is, Mitt Romney looks how our President should look; Confident, cool, calm & collected, and completely trustworthy.. Can’t wait to be able to call him President Romney. Will be wonderful to have a leader we can trust to work FOR US, not lie to us about everything and he’ll keep our Nation safe. He’ll know what to do at 3am instead of packing off to Las Vegas.

Oct. 4, 2012 at 5:50amMy post was erased and my computer said internet explorer can not view this page. Go figure. My point was ths. Don’t you find it odd that Obama behaved in this way? It was like when your children get in a fight and you force them to admitt that they were are wrong and appologize . You know they reluctantly do it and bite their toungue to not say anything else that will get them in more trouble but it is in no way sincere. That is what he reminded me of. We know that he can debate. Look back at his debates with Hillary. Why was he holding back? Telling lies and acting arrogant seems to be his true nature but we did not see that last night, why? He has been up to this minute, why not now? This man has been groomed for years . Where was his cool charismatic Obama charm? There was none last night. The Progressives are always prepared, they know that Romney has the intelligence and knowledge, they surely would have expected it and planned for it. I have a bad feeling even though Romney did a fantastic job. It was like they allowed him to have this first win in the debates for a reason. I hope that I am wrong, but am I?.

Oct. 4, 2012 at 4:14amWouldn’t that make a great campaign ad? Have a booming voice and an apparition bellowing “I am the Great and Powerful……” and then have a dog pull back the curtain on the Obama campaign people (Axelrod and Cutter ‘doubles’)? I thought of it a couple days ago….whatta ya think? If ‘good idea’, and you can hook up with someone who knows someone who is involved with ideas, let ‘em hear about it.
