Father & His 9-Year-Old Son Caught on Tape Allegedly Mocking Young Girl’s Cerebral Palsy

The parents of a 10-year-old girl who has cerebral palsy are taking to the media with claims that their neighbors have been harassing and making fun of their daughter’s disability. Hope Holcomb’s family has turned a tape of the purported mockery — which allegedly shows a nine-year-old neighbor and his father mimicking Hope’s walk — over toΒ prosecutors.

The family, irate at the images shown in the clip, wants charges filed against the father. As a result of the alleged harassment and ongoing bullying, Hope has said that she is afraid to leave her home in East Sparta, Ohio, Fox4KC.com reports.

Father & Son Allegedly Mock Girls Cerebral Palsy | Hope Holcomb

“It started last year we had trouble on the bus, she was miserable she didn’t want to ride the bus, cried every morning,” explained Tricia Knight, Hope’s mother. “He treats her like crap,Β and most recently the dad got involved.”

The harassment was apparently caught on video by Hope’s grandmother and a local prosecutor plans to meet with both families next week to determine what, if any, charges should be filed. Both families have filed complaints with the prosecutor’s office.

The father depicted in the clip, William Bailey, declined to talk to media, but his wife, Vickie, claims that there is wider-spread drama that exists between the two families aside from this one incident. The mother also defended the family, claiming that she’s unsure why the Holcombs are taking the father and son clip so negatively.

β€œHe did get out of the car, you’ve seen the videoΒ I am sure, my kid was walking like, but no offense to Hope so why they are taking it that way,Β I have no idea,” Vickie continued.

Here’s a video report with more about this troubling story:

We don’t need the police involved with this issue because they’ll have to create another law and we have too many laws already. The idiot so called man making fun of a disabled little girl just needs a beat down, nothing to serious just enough to let the so called man know he’s a dick.

When i was a kid that’s exactly what would have happened. The dad would have got his a$$ whooped and the son would have gotten the same thing in school. We have become a nation of cowards can’t even stand up for what is right anymore. Everyone want’s the police involved. Just where are all the dad’s at in this neighborhood?

You hit the nail on the head. We allowed the Harvard-elites to remove that form of social control, smack in mouth. This is why society has been on the decline. They’ve removed most social control, obesity being one of the most common and obvious results. Make fun of fat kids, and you have less fat kids.

What kind of sick, twisted, angry adult man teases a handicapped girl–regardless of whatever red rose/white rose dispute that’s going on? And encourages his son to do the same?

Probably the same kind of man that advocates for pulling unborn babies out of a mother’s womb, limb by limb–and then whines about unborn babies with bullets in their arms.

Apparently ‘being wanted’ or ‘being useful’ have become the determining values upon someone’s life, not their inherent worth as a child of God.

    Pray for America.

being wanted or useful is the why the new health care system is going to work, if you are not productive to society or get to old then you are limited in how much if any health care you receive, the want to make sure that only health people can get help so they can work to support the government, sounds just like communism, and all of these people who voted for are supported the communist health care will find out that they will one day get to old to work then they to will be thrown away,

I agree, but I would love to know if there are any men in that community, period. The men where I live would take that hideous example of a father and his atrocious reprobate-in-training spawn of his to the back of the building and teach him how to treat a little disabled girl. Peculiar that they only pick on the ones who can’t fight back, isn’t it?

If there is a family type problem, as the abuser’s wife claims, perhaps the adults should handle it rather than teaching their children about the evils in man! Good luck to them. We had a handicapped child and an abuser… no recourse…. except our child was the one in trouble if he fought back! Don’t know if there is a cure. Only real solution is God. Take it there!

I can not for the life of me understand what makes a human being want to mock or poke fun of another human being… Young, old or otherwise. I believe this is a learned behavior.

I do not remember ever.. ever mocking anyone. It might have been because this type of action just never happened in my home and would not have been tolerated. Or perhaps because I knew intuitively.. you reap what you sow.

One day we will all stand before God and give an account for our actions, behavior, thoughts etc. Our words have enormous power to bring life or death to someone. Literally and figuratively.

Why do people want to inflict pain on another? I’m thinking if the kids are doing it.. odds are they learned it from their parents.

My heart hurts to see someone who has been belittled, bullied, openly humiliated for the sport of it all. Imagine what a different place this world would be if we all just lived our lives the way the Lord intended. So simple really …

Mocking has it’s place…. If one of my friends face- plants while doing something stupid i will not hesitate to mock him.
If a celebrity or public figure makes a gaffe- they are fair game as well.

Teasing crippled children is way, way bad form, though. Especially by an adult. This family probably looks forward to the “Jerry’s Kids” Telethon every year so they can all have a good laugh.

If the adults feel a need to “fight” then so be it. But the Bailey – so called “adult” man – stepped way over the line by (1) invoking a handicapped child into the “fight.” and (2) showing his son what truly bad parenting looks like and allowing and even emulating that behavior! An example of how to be the WORST parent ever and showing your children how to grow up to become the WORST “adults” ever! And all because of your own “feelings” for/of your neighbor….sad.

This story goes deeper than this. There’s some kind of feud going on here that we are not aware of. And if that’s the case the family with the disabled daughter is guilty of using her to gain sympathy from the public. I’m not condoning this pos actions in the least, but I don’t want a law to protect people from getting their feeling hurts either .Give me the old days when some jerk gets his ass beat for insulting my family. I’ve done it as a means of self-deprecating humor, but to poke fun of someone who actually suffers from the disease, not to mention a little girl, goes beyond anything I could imagine a parent with children of his own could do to someone else.

I’m not talking about what we see on the video – I would raise my child to tolerate that kind of ignorance; I’m talking about what goes on in the bus that we DON’T see, that makes this child so fearful to enter. As her parent, I’d like to talk to that driver, and if the bus has on-board cameras with audio, I’d like to review those to. I don’t know how I’d respond as her parent, but if what we see is mild, compared to what goes on in the bus, it wouldn’t be pretty.
