Pro-Wrestler Subdues Violent Train Passenger With a Chokehold When Police Fail to Show Up

Ex WWE Wrestler Shawn Daivari Puts Violent Passenger on Minneapolis Train in Rear Naked Chokehold

(Getty File Photo)

Ex-WWE star Shawn Daivari seems to have saved the day Thursday when he put a passenger making violent threats against the rest of the train in a chokehold, he says.

Daivari, also known as Sheik Abdul Bashir, was on a train to the Minneapolis airport when he heard the man “saying racial and anti-Semitic stuff,” but didn’t take action until the man began making physical threats and it became clear the situation was only escalating.

Daivari told WWE.com what happened in his own words:

There was one older guy sitting in a chair and he told the guy, “Hey, sit down, you’re making the train ride really uncomfortable for everybody.” At that point, the guy just got right in front of the older guy and physically threatened him, even threatened to kill him. That’s when everybody started running for the emergency call buttons. They were all hitting the buttons, and we went another stop after that, which was another two minutes. When the doors opened, nobody got on the train, so we knew there were no cops waiting to get on and help.

I didn’t know if this guy had a knife in his pocket or a gun in his backpack, so I just went up to him, turned him around, grabbed him in a rear naked choke/sleeper hold and held until I felt his body go limp. I dropped him, locked on a body scissors and held him down until the next stop, which was about 45 seconds down the road. Then I just grabbed him by the seat of his pants and his collar and I threw him off the train. And mind you, from when this started, we probably went half the length of the trip, which was about 20 minutes. It was one thing when he was saying all that racial stuff, but when he started threatening passengers, I didn’t know if it was just a big guy talking tough like he’s at a bar or if he’s got a weapon. By the time I got to the airport, there were still no cops at the train station. [Emphasis added]

According to one witness, the passenger was so freaked out by his hulking adversary that he peed his pants.

Metro Transit Rail told TMZ that “Metro Transit police responded after being alerted by the train operator to a fight on board” and that “the investigation is ongoing.”

Though Daivari left WWE in 2007, according to ProWrestling.net, he’s proven for many that “he’s still got it.”  TV Plus magazine wrote in a tweet: “Think WWE is fake? Wrestler @ShawnDaivari put an unruly train passenger in a choke hold when he threatened to kill people on the train!”

we need more people like this man in america, still willing to do the right thing and not just duck in the corner with a cell phone calling 911.

sad thing is, the police don’t like being “shown up” by citizens because it makes them look bad. wouldnt be surprised if some spiteful actions were taken towards him. at the very least, liberals will portray him as a “vigilante citizen” who was neglected as a child, has a small penis, and wants to prove something to the rest of the world. sad sad world we live in :(

We’d have more people like this in America if the educators, shrinks, lawyers, judges, politicians, and all of the politically correct groups hadn’t castrated MEN and attempted to turn them into women or gender neutral people by suing them and putting them in jail and making their life a living hell.

Although in reality professional wrestling is just a show but these people have to have excellent athletic abilities. The holds and moves they use are real just dramatized. Good job though he did stop something that could have become a lot worse.

While I applaud his actions, what will likely break his neck was the choke hold and, if true, actually throwing the guy out of the train like that. Some crafty lawyer will try to cut a name for himself out of Mr Daivari’s hide and, given the way the US justice “system” is broken (not the only one, mind you, the same applies to every EU country, it’s even worse there), that lawyer will likely succeed. Mr Daivari just made that idiotic bastard a very rich man.

Maybe…but remember…we’ve been throwing people out of bars, clubs, houses, trains, but not planes thankfully, for thousands of years. Does that make it right?….well, yes…it’s been serving it’s purpose and working just fine for a long time. You may find it a brutish act, but there is nothing more humiliating, than simply being picked up like a piece of bad luggage, and tossed out a door. No one has ever died from that…and hopefully a likely bruise or twisted wrist will follows them awhile as a reminder for their offence. And again, maybe, they will learn a bit of humility themselves. I think he did the right thing…he wasn’t looking for a fight, but sometime the fight comes to you. We must always have the right to protect each other.

I don’t think the hold is designed to break necks, but to cut off the blood supply to the brain long enough for the subject to lose consciousness. They teach it in the military, my daughter can do it (she’s about 5’6″), so don’t mess with her.

It looks like the police are spread thin, as they are in Detroit. Of course, public union workers are paid by tax payers who make a profit, and since our Capitalism is being stolen from us, we make less profit. More people become desperate with little pay if they have work at all, as police staff have to decrease because of lack of funds.

Yes folks. We are “On our own”, where we are not suppose to be “On our own”.

Government is here to protect our Individual Liberty and us against violence. Not to dummy down our children and ship opportunity over seas—making us and our nation go broke.

It is made to sound like the ‘hero’ was taking up for some “ethnics.” What I asked dumbazz, if the folks being harassed was white, black or the man thrown off the train was black? Oh, but he is a radical “muslim”. Do you even know why? Of course not. It’s pretty obvious, really. Apparently Mr Daivari here seems to like it in America and, going by the way he dresses, doesn’t seem to follow the koran. That makes him radical, because he clearly choses to ignore islamic doctrine and dogma.

Those following the koran to the letter, including obeying Mohammed’s orders to maim and murder, aren’t radical. When is following the explicit orders radical? They’re pious and devout “muslims”. People like Mr Daivari, people like the tons of secular mohammedans (who exist), those are the radicals. They don’t follow the dogma. Such people I have no issues with and I doubt anyone here has either. I have issues with the jihadi worshippers of the mass murdering, pedophile, pillaging and thieving insane Arab named Mohammed who cooked up islam when he had a heat stroke.

If he was a jihadist or Muslim psycho, he would have sat still and not been the least bit bothered by the anti-semitic rants. A radical Muslim certainly wouldn’t have stood up to protect an old American man. If he is Muslim, deep down he did the right thing. This man, is an American first. I’m sure CAIR will call and request a sit-down or counseling session to make him a better Muslim. That is, if they’ve got the guts to ask Mr.Daivari in the first place. Ha!
