Yes, This Is a 2012 Presidential Candidate Crowd Surfing

A lot of things can be said about libertarians, some good and some bad, but no one, and we mean no one, can accuse them of being an unenthusiastic bunch.

“As long as I’m relevant, I will continue this through 2016,” Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson said of his bid for the presidency during a town hall meeting on Tuesday.

“Waste your vote!” he jokingly told his audience, referring to those who claim a third party vote is a vote wasted, “Vote for me!”

At the conclusion of the meeting, Johnson crowd surfed. Yes, crowd surfed:

I too have been known to vote 3rd party.
I IMPLORE you not to do it this election. I agree with you about the fact that the founders did not intend for us to choose between the lesser of two evils but, voting this guy OUT is the ONLY way you will continue to HAVE a voice. If he is not stopped NOW he never will be stopped.

I totally agree, ProudInfidel! I would love to see a third-party take-over, but this is not the time. Our main priority this election is getting Obama out of the oval office. Voting for a third-party or write-in candidate is a suicide pact with Obama.

I don’t see how any man of firm principles could vote for Barack Obama or especially not mitt Romney. We cast our vote for these men who lack principle, and that vote may elevate them to the most powerful leader in the free world. We always come to this point, where we must choose between the better of two men who would both tell you anything to get elected. There sole desire is the power and position of the elected office and then supporting the interests of those that helped them reach that goal.

People, in their stupidity and cowardice, refuse to vote outside the mainstream parties for men of principle who are not tolerated by the money men who control the parties. Like stupid sheep, we keep choosing parties which are different sides of the same coin, and that coin is held by the same powerful men who truly hold the power.

Sorry my fellow republicans, but I am willing to chance another 4 more years of Obama. I would rather be known as a man who chooses than a slave that can only obey.

If you really are convinced that America can not survive 4 more years of Obama than the man holding the coin is also holding you in his rigid grasp. I pray for you who would sacrifice the liberty of your principles for some small security from the fears that men like beck has struck in your hearts.

In my humble opinion Johnson is a selfish power hungry fool. People who throw away their votes to save our nation will have blood on their hands. Most who will vote for this man(?) want nothing more than to legally smoke a joint or isolation of the country. This idea of more parties is ridiculous too. The people who suggest it need to go back to school and learn division again. 51 percent of a pie is a whole lot more than 34 percent. Get real just change for the better, one of the two parties and get over yourselves.

Johnson–maybe a good guy, a possible president, who knows? But this is a stunt that is not presidential in any way shape or form. When I first saw the picture I was thinking obama was trying to rally the young folks by being “hip” with the crowd. Folks, we don’t need another popularity president. We need someone who will take the presidency seriously and with honor and dignity. Think Ronald Reagan who would never go into the Oval Office improperly dressed–only suits and ties here boys! Time to RESTORE the honor and dignity to the presidency and Romney has been the most presidential of any and all candidates this year, and in a long time.

It’s pretty obvious by now that we need more competition in our political process…

It’s gotten to the point that both Republicans and Democrats stand for the same things (federal takeover of healthcare, adding trillions of dollars to the national debt, etc., etc.)

I’ve gotten tired of it and that’s why I have decided to take my business elsewhere (via a 3rd party vote) ’cause I don’t see an inkling of difference between Republicans & Democrats these days.

This is why I just can’t plausibly understand why people would want to limit themselves to only 2 choices…..if we had more competition in our political process like we have more competition in things like restaurants, automobiles, refrigerators, blenders, etc., etc. then Republicans and Democrats wouldn’t keep serving us up a big plate of crap every 2 to 4 years.

Imagine living in a world in which your only two choices of automobile were GM and Chrysler and that’s all that you had to choose from….

Of course, that would actually happen if the majority of the population around the world decided that they would only patronize GM and Chrysler…..it would drive the other car makers (Mercedes, Toyota, etc., etc.) out of business…

It’s just too bad that our political system isn’t as competitive as the car business is presently…

Has it ever occurred to any of you Paul or Johnson supporters that there might not even be an election in 2016 is Obama stays in office. So let me get this straight. You would rather throw away your vote to Paul or Johnson based on principals than have 4 yrs to actually form a third party that could perhaps be successful? I must ask you this …Where are your principals concerning saving our republic? Where do your loyalties lie? Throw away any chance to save America, or guarantee to bring her to her knees? That is what you will accomplish. You have seen the last four years and witnessed the loss of many of our rights, you have heard the lies, felt the pain, seen the destruction, and yet you are ready to allow four more years with irreversible damage? Global governess is knocking on our door. The end of America as we know it, and that’s ok with all of you? You destroy any chance to gain the opportunities you hold so dear by voting for Paul or Johnson. For what? your ego? None of you have no more values or love for their country than the rest of us. There are simply some things that we have to accept in order to stop what is happening. Your first concern should be to get Obama out of office, then we can work on the other issues. Now is not the time to let your pride get in the way. I intend to watch and pay attention to Romney if he gets elected just as I have Obama. Our work will not be done regardless of who wins. I can’t help but laugh hysterically when Glenn says he’s a libertarian. In what freakin’ universe? It’s painfully obvious that he knows nothing about libertarianism, hence his early endorsement of Rick Santorum. Glenn heavily favors the military industrial complex and corporatism, despite his in-depth discussions into the Federal Reserve. I can state this emphatically because if he were truly concerned about the Fed, then we all know whom he would have backed. If he wasn’t for the military industrial complex, evidenced by his constant warnings of radical Islam and how they hate us for our freedom and status as a Christian nation, he might have pondered aloud whether or not all of our bombing for peace over there was a lot like screwing for virginity. Glenn is articulate, passionate and draws an audience, but ultimately he is a charlatan… a mouthpiece for the status quo. It’s too bad, really. When he started exposing the Fed and reading Austrian economists like Hayek, I thought he really might make a stand for freedom… but he stood with the evangelical neoconservatives. That isn’t libertarian at all.

In the end I hope Johnson is wise enough to offer up a coalition of support against this threat of progressivism – the antithesis of liberty! The rise of Libertarianism is in response of the rise of liberalism/progressivism/Big government intrusion from alinsky radicals. It serves no purpose to assist progressivism in any way, and in the end it will drive Libertarianism forward as a force to be reckoned with. I think that would serve the United States quite well at this point in time. After all- if Obama wins- the tip of the sword he has embedded will be plunged deeply into the heart and Soul of America.

I want to sincerely/humbly suggest that you get educated on cannabis, hemp, their importance in the founding/development of our nation, and how the Hearst paper company combined with other textile industries (cotton, for example) to bribe the government into making hemp and cannabis illegal in order to eliminate hemp as a competitor to them… why the alcohol & tobacco industries lobby against legalization of cannabis (when cigarettes and alcohol are statistically and verifiably much more dangerous and deadly than cannabis could ever be), and what the illegal status of these 2 substances does to our economy, both in deprivation of millions of jobs, and keeping roughly 1 million people incarcerated at our expense for daring use or sell cannabis. This is a double negative of course: they are a drain on tax payer dollars, and their being out of the work force is loss of $ in tax revenue and the purchase of goods & services in their local areas. Now that I’ve kindly asked you to educate yourself…

Wake the **** UP! Who is the gov to tell us what we can/cannot put into our own bodies?!? @Love,

It all depends on your perspective really. For me it boils down to four main issues.
      1. Economic Policy
      2. Civil Liberties
      3. Wars
      4. Constitutional Constraint.

Regarding economic policy both candidates will run massive deficits and grow government. Romney won’t even articulate a detailed plan beyond platitudes so we are left with the Ryan plan as a model. It adds 18Tr in debt over 28 years to balance a budget. No thanks. Owebama? Same but worse.

Regarding civil liberties both are fans of the police state and have no intentions of rolling back anything that Bush started after 9/11. Both see us as sheep in this regard.

Regarding wars, both are hawks. Owebomba is droning anybody he can and blowing up American citizens without due process. We still have kids dying in Afghanistan for no freaking reason and he’s arming any jihadi he come’s across. Romney seems like he can’t wait to start blowing people up like Iran and Syria.

Regarding the Constitution both have demonstrated that they will not respect it but only when it suits their needs to do so. We know BHO’s transgressions, but Romney has had issues with gun control and civil liberties as well as the role of government beyond the enumerated powers. Replace with Romneycare? Seriously?

Y’all argue over who eats dogs and who’s a racist and who mows who’s lawn and on and on. They don’t really matter. At the core, they are the same.

My Rothbardian friend has done a fantastic job summing up the sameness of Obamney. You have a choice of fire engine red, or ‘hot rod’ red… there’s about that much difference between these men, and that the majority of you either don’t see it, or are just jumping on board with ‘the party’ under ‘anyone but Obama’ illustrates your lack of clarity, insight, your depth of knowledge and your willful ignorance, which is, of course, precisely what the opinion makers who work to maintain the status quo counted on you doing, and new you would do. Well done!

Glenn, on your radio show you just said you didn’t know anybody who says Romney will kick butt tonight. Well, you don’t know me, but I’m saying it: Romney is going to KICK BUTT tonight! I scored every one of Romney’s debates, and in my opinion he won most of them. That’s a major reason why he is our nominee today! Tonight, people need to LISTEN to him!!!!!
I have 100% confidence in him.

      tigress1;

I hope you are right. It is said that those watching the Nixon/Kennedy debate thought Kennedy won, those listening on radio thought Nixon won.

For Mitt Romney to WIN he NEEDS to Disavow Bush and Karl Rove and admit the WRECKAGE of Both of the Bush Presidencies. We need to flush the toilet on the Elite Republicans. He needs to prove he is a true Conservative and not a RINO. Independent Libertarian voters are looking for Truth as much as Conservatives are looking for Values and Truth. 0 keeps saying “we can’t go back to Bush year” ROMNEY Must make it CLEAR that he is NOTHING like either of the BUSH – World Government Stooges and that he is a True Conservative Business Man with a Plan to Restore the American Constitution and Unite us in Prosperity for ALL.

Too bad he’s irrelevant in this election; too bad this isn’t an election in which there are TWO pro-Americans taking top-billing; too bad this is one election cycle we CANNOT AFFORD to throw a vote away on…

…because I’d rather have crowd-surfing libertarian than a bath-house surfing commie for president anyday!

A president of the people… that would be horrible. One more like a banker or college professor showing true decorum is so much better because image makes the man, right?

How about someone with serious philosophical and policy ideas, that you won’t hear from Mitt Romney or Barack Obama?

Let him in the debate, and find out for yourself.

Or are you, like Romney and Obama, too chicken?

As I recall, he lit up Obama pretty well…

“My dog makes more shovel-ready projects than this President.”

What you saw in the debates, was the media shutting him out just like Ron Paul. And he didn’t have all the money backing him that Paul did, so he couldn’t afford to stick in with the Republicans and dilute Paul’s chances.

In a debate where equal time was given to each candidate, Johnson would knock The Big O’s and Willard McBain’s heads together.
