FBI Says a Team Has Come and Gone to Benghazi in the Last 24 Hours
WASHINGTON (TheBlaze/AP) — The FBI says a team of agents arrived in Benghazi on Wednesday to investigate last month’s deadly attack on the U.S. consulate and has already left the city.
FBI spokeswoman Kathy Wright says the FBI agents were there just one day. She would not say where the team is headed.
Law enforcement officials had said that the FBI had been staying away from the Libyan city for security reasons, prompting a weeks-long delay in the investigation.
A Libyan official told AFP a team of about 20 Americans in civilian clothing arrived early Thursday morning and spent about three hours collecting evidence.
The FBI was investigating a terror attack that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens, a State Department computer expert and two former U.S. Navy Seals at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11.

Posted on October 4, 2012 at 6:21pmThey were there for three hours collecting evidence! What evidence? The site has been picked through for over three weeks. Any forensic evidence is tainted and/or gone. Not to mention all the sensitive security materials that have fallen into the hands of the murderers, reporters and who ever else looted the place.
This is absolutely disgraceful. At this point why did they even waste the three hours.

Posted on October 4, 2012 at 7:26pmThe scene has been thoroughly contaminated and no Court in the U.S. would even consider the evidence found at the scene. Well, maybe an Obama Court but, not a real Court.

Posted on October 5, 2012 at 6:51amThe “visit” was all eyewash – they put in an appearance to quite the critics who want to know why they hadn’t been there. The reporters have already picked the site for classified papers and plans. So many people have walked thru the debris that the FBI couldn’t possibly find any clues.
Another Sweet Old Barack Joke.

Murder of an Ambassador and 3 other personnel and they completed their investigation in 24 hours?
I really wish they would hire better liars, it’s becoming quite insulting.

Posted on October 4, 2012 at 3:42pmMy guess is that the FBI was on a plane that made a touch and go landing, allowing them to say they had landed in Libya. I doubt if they even got within shouting distance of the violent scene.

Posted on October 4, 2012 at 3:20pmI have a very hard time accepting the fact that the press and the mind-numbed public is not outraged by this!!! A mob of terrorists invade American soil, sodomizes and kill an American Ambassador and three other Americans, then the stooges at State and the WH lie, cover up and respond with a promise to send more foreign aid!! This incident alone should be grounds to expel them all!

Posted on October 4, 2012 at 2:42pmWhy the rush????? CNN had no problem getting to the site the day after the tragedy.
My heartbreaks for the families of those murdered as this administration has increased
their pain with malicious lies and cover-ups.

Posted on October 4, 2012 at 2:40pmGood thing that they rushed right over and preserved the evidence. After all, some prowling reporter might have already picked up something valuable like, say, oh the Ambassador’s private journal. Of course, now they’ll put a real rush on the investigation to ensure the report comes out AFTER the Nov election.

Posted on October 4, 2012 at 2:40pmSooooo they entered the city, but nothing about going to the embassy? There’s not much evidence to collect unless they went to the actual scene of the crime. Seems to me like a pointless bone thrown towards the MSM and the American public about this “investigation.” Sorry, but if they really DID enter the city (for less than a DAY) and not even go near an embassy, then this “investigation” is pointless, useless, and nothing but empty calories for an administration trying so very desperately to cover their tracks.

Posted on October 4, 2012 at 2:38pm3 hours of evidence collection? Well, I guess that sounds about right when you show up to a crime scene more than 3 weeks after the crime! Place was combed over by CNN on the first day, they likely weren’t the only ones to remove something.

Posted on October 4, 2012 at 2:38pmWhat ever is happening right now, you cannot blame the members of that team. Not for just now arriving or spending so little time at the site. Everybody in this entire team are having their unwanted strings yanked by both the White House and the State Department. And both want them to find little to nothing especially, that will link either or both to this failure.
Hey VERCEOFDUMBASS, they finally got there, so you can run that mouth of yours now.

Posted on October 4, 2012 at 2:19pmThat was quick (if it happened). The article says the FBI stayed away from Benghazi because of security reasons. If the FBI would not go to Benghazi because of security reasons, what about that poor American ambassador forced to live there with guards that had no bullets in their guns and surrounded by killers. The ambassador that begged Washington for more security and who was ignored by hillary and obama. God help his soul. He must have indeed felt alone with bosses like that.
