Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) is backing former General Electric CEO Jack Welch’s accusation that the Obama administration cooked the September jobs report numbers, saying he thinks “Chicago-style politics is at work here.”
“I agree with former GE CEO Jack Welch, Chicago style politics is at work here,” West said on his Facebook page. “Somehow by manipulation of data we are all of a sudden below 8 percent unemployment, a month from the presidential election.”
Shortly after the jobs report was released Friday morning showing the unemployment rate down to 7.8 percent — the lowest level since January 2009 when Obama took office — Welch tweeted, “Unbelievable jobs numbers…these Chicago guys will do anything..can’t debate so change numbers.”
Labor Secretary Hilda Solis told CNBC Friday morning she was “insulted” by Welch’s accusation and called it “ludicrous.”
In his post, West noted that while the overall unemployment rate fell, the U-6 unemployment number — which includes the underemployed and those who have stopped looking for work — remained steady at 14.7 percent.
Calling the report “Orwellian to say the least and representative of Saul Alinsky tactics,” West also up the White House’s initial response to the terror attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya.
“Trust the Obama administration? Sure, and the spontaneous reaction to a video caused the death of our Ambassador……and pigs fly,” he wrote.

Oct. 5, 2012 at 2:00pmI’ve got some evidence for you PERCYVERCY….
Economists predicted 113K jobs last month and 8.2% unemployment. Instead we got 114K jobs and 7.8% unemployment. How so PERCY?
Before you bleat an answer..let me remind you. The report says government job unemployment lowered to 4.3%, that is government hired more people. This translates into what PERCY? That’s right non-growth, tax payer funded jobs.
Let’s go on….the report says most of the 114K jobs are part time. 873K found work at home yet the GDP isn’t showing anything resembling this. Is this acceptable to you for effective economic growth PERCY? Manufacturing jobs have been evaporating for months now.
For the last 3 months we’ve had roughly 90K jobs “added” (I use added cautiously because we still have yet to breach the deficit of jobs lost in 2009..so the economy has not grown as far as jobs are concerned)..while roughly 300K people gave up looking for work. Let me dumb that down for you PERCYVERCY..three times the people who found work dropped out of the workforce. We have the highest underemployment rate since WWII.
These aren’t made up…these are cold hard facts PERCY. Now you tell me sport..how do you get 7.8% from what looks like numbers headed for another recession?

Oct. 5, 2012 at 5:42pm‘The BLS reported that while only 114,000 jobs were created in September–which would have translated into a rise in unemployment from 8.1% to 8.2%–the unemployment rate fell dramatically to 7.8%. That unusual drop is the fastest in nearly three decades, and was unexpected even in the rosiest predictions.” Numbers do not add up. Look for a revised number to come out next week.

Oct. 5, 2012 at 6:00pmJORSKIPPY..what’s happened is that the household survey offered 873K jobs and the more accurate payroll survey offered 114K. The two are then averaged and we got today’s number. Any sane and rational mind would instantly question the 873K number as being far too out of the norm to be accurate..but the BLS went with it anyway.
The report also says that most of the jobs were part time jobs and home jobs. What is that saying? It’s saying that Obama’s economy has discouraged so many Americans that they’re taking part time work and trying home jobs to stay bouyant in his economy. Clearly the 7.8% is an aberration, numbers have been massaged or fudged whether intentionally or not. The GDP is at 1.3% and the last time we had a jump like this the GDP was close to 9% under Reagan. There’s just no correlation here. There’s no logic to the 0.3 reduction in the unemployment rate. We havent’ been adding enough jobs to move it like that. Obviously..something isn’t right with the numbers..there are mitigating factors involved…and none of those factors are a plus for Obama.

Oct. 5, 2012 at 9:11pmAnd therein lays the difference between liberals and conservatives. When faced with a poor debate performance by their candidate liberals can face reality whereas conservatives faced with potentially bad economic news (for them that is) need to invent a new reality in order to deal with actual reality.
We are expected to believe that the BLS used a completely different methodology to survey employment numbers then they used for all previous months of the Obama and Bush administrations. Using that logic perhaps the Bush administration’s unemployment numbers were not really that great either if the BLS is open to manipulation by the POTUS.

But to question those who wield the power that we gave them when we allowed them to take office.
unfortunately, many in the “media” are no longer “journalists” they are star struck by Hollywood and future hollywood careers. So they “play nice” so that they can have high paid talk shows on networks.

You know you are about to lose more unless you are willing to put your career on the line. Think of this way, you have your career in the left hand, and dead soldiers in the right. Which will weigh more in your mind for the rest of your life? Let’s see you make that kind of life and death decision. Yeah, I’d say it was a huge mistake. What did he promise to do when he got into office during his campaign? He promised to reduce the deficit, by cutting it in half, and there was that thing about the economy now, wasn’t there. If he had any ideas of how to fix either and considering he had a Dem-wit dominate Congress for his first two years in office, he FAILED to do anything in the way of the economy or deficit. Instead he made all sorts of shady if not down right illegal deals while pushing his Congress to get this through. In a last minute decision when Scott Brown entered the Senate, the bill which was changed by Pelosi in the House never sent it back to the Senate for further approval, and just DEEMED it passed. Those two years were the craziest wheeling and dealing horse trading that I have ever witnessed Congress and the White House do. A very sorry state of affairs. You must be so proud.

It is said that they had to because of some illegal things. They give them an option so it will not be on their record. There is merit to this if what I have read and researched is anwise true. These people are not who many think they are. They should be in jail. They were closely associated with Tony Rezco who is in jail.

Oct. 5, 2012 at 11:46amIs it any surprise?
In the past the force that kept political parties and their leaders in line was the press. If you lied, it was reported as such. If you cooked the numbers you got called on it, and it was front page headlines for weeks.
The press was the answer to political corruption. They fought for the little guy, kept the people informed, and politicians learned to tread carefully.
It didn’t stop corruption completely, but it did limit it’s scope. Now those rules apply ten fold to the Republican Party, but for Democrats?……Nothing.
A free pass to do, and say anything without accountability, without fear.
And thus we have this current corrupt, and evil administration.
Somthing needs to be done about the media.

Oct. 5, 2012 at 11:57am@Ranger:
Something is being done to the media – they have dicredited themselves and no longer are trusted by the nation. New media is rising to take their place as the dinosaurs refuse to adapt, and thus will pass into the night.
Now in the collusion they have carried out with the administraiton, if any criminal matters surface, then trials and jail time are called for.
The nation as a whole is undergoing a massive paradigm shift; from all matters and directions on faith and charity, on governance and Constitution. Matters of key importance to all of us, which we have neglected for so many decades, are coming back again.
Obama sought to transform the nation into a communist state; instead he has transformed us at the most fundamental level back to where we are meant to be – a Republic of, by and for the people. Or at least we are on the way to it happening. The corruption and rot and restoration will take a generation or more to finish; yet we are Americans.
For Americans, who once walked on the moon, the impossible just means we have not yet taken on the challenge and made it into a success.

Oct. 5, 2012 at 12:19pmHey RANGER…..How y’ doin’? It seems that some of the more honest, or, maybe the least biased, of the sycophantic liberal media types are starting to get offended by the outrageous dishonesty and obvious pedantry, of this administration. I’ve begun to use a different word for the die-hards–”proglib”. It rolls off the tongue and is very descriptive in a nice concise way.
It could be that some, in the media, have had the veil ripped of the face of their “hypnotic trance”. The proglibs are going too deep into the bag of tricks, even for Jon Stewart. And some of the media whores on primetime. This is important, because soon we will see a shift to desperation mode, for obama’s continuity. It could get dangerous. We have seen that no deception or “dirty trick” is beneath them. Read Alinsky…advantage goes to the ruthless.
Many of the proglibs know they are going to be investigated and possibly prosecuted should Romney be elected. This IS a wounded beast, and will be savage.

Hopefully the “frogmarch chant” of the prison guards as they all move into that new IL Maximum Security he just bought, but we’ll have to make some changes so they can’t simply use the security features to break out at will.

Oct. 5, 2012 at 11:45amIt is amazing what Romney can accomplish just by addressing the unemployment situation in America. There shouldn’t be any question now that he is the best man for the job. Obama loses debate. Romney wins debate. The employment numbers get better over night!!!

Oct. 5, 2012 at 11:42amIt’s difficult for me to swallow that number….but for argument’s sake let’s say that they haven’t cooked the books to show that number ubnder 8%…..since when is 7.8% unemployment something to cheer about?
How can anyone say that Obama deserves a second term becxause the unemployment number this month is 7.8%?
7.8% unemployment is absolutely horrible. It is horrendous and totally unacceptable. Why are the libs flaunting it and cheering it as if it were some kind of victory? They are absolutely out of their minds.

This is what they do to wear the public down. It is a Marxist machine you are dealing with. It is time to stand against this and those who are too stupid to realize what they are dealing with.

Oct. 5, 2012 at 11:55amI think that the Republicans were booted out of office for allowing a 7.*% unemployment rate to happen in 2008. So what is perceived as failure by a Republican = a victory to Democrats. That’s like social promotions in school – move the person up whether they deserve it or not.

The new kind of affirmative action, we no longer go by race, it’s according to abilities, and since the left don’t have any, we give them the benefit of the doubt that what’s terrible for those who are capable, is wonderful for those who aren’t.

Obama, Holder and his administration need to be put in jail when this election is over. Win or lose by anyone’s standard, Obama will not be President!

And big bird lovers everywhere will be relieved to know that Mark Levin said when President Romney defunds PBS, if no private group comes forth, he’ll put together one to buy the network and preserve big bird for posterity. (I don’t think he’s aware how big bird has become an occupant character.)

Oct. 5, 2012 at 11:52amRJJING..I’d like to see congress step in and ask Solis some questions…you don’t add some 90K jobs to a job deficit while losing some 300K people who’ve given up looking for work each month for the last three months and bring the unemployment rate down this dramatically. Solis’ department needs to be investigated. GDP is almost stalled. Manufacturing jobs down and this report says part time jobs make up the lion’s share of the 114K. Something is very wrong with the 7.8% number. Rick Santelli at CNBC predicted this would happen with the report leading into the election only he said it would be 7.9%. Congress needs to look into this..this is serious.
