Watch Fox’s Megyn Kelly Interview…Her Husband!

Megyn Kelly Interviews Her Husband Douglas Brunt About His Book Ghosts of Manhattan

Fox News

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly welcomed a very special guest onto her show Friday: her husband.

In an interview loaded with adorable married couple-isms, Douglas Brunt was on to discuss his just-published first novel, “Ghosts of Manhattan,” about a Wall Street insider struggling to escape the high-rolling lifestyle of drugs, sex and money.

“How you doing babe?” Kelly greeted him.

“I’m doing great honey, thanks for having me on,” Brunt replied.

“Do you feel nervous?” she asked.

“Nervous, panicked, one of those,” he laughed.

“Much easier when you see it from the living room couch, isn’t it?” she said.

Kelly noted how anxious she was about reading the novel for the first time, saying it was “terrifying because I had no idea if Doug could write.” Set in 2005 before the financial collapse, she asked whether he wanted her honest opinion of the book. She said she read it and said “The truth is it’s awesome!’”

Kelly said there was one thing people need to know about the book right off the bat about a “naughty blonde reporter.”

“Now we need to get this on the record right now, this person bears no relation to anyone you may know,” she said.

“No, none,” Brunt confirmed.

“And you made her a CNBC reporter so it’s not even a Fox Business person or a Fox News person, it’s all fictional,” she said.

“Financial correspondent, totally unrelated,” he said.

Tipping the scales even more on the sweetness meter was Brunt calling Kelly “the best journalist” in talking about his main character trying to break away from Wall Street.

“You did the same, you were a lawyer work 100-hour weeks and you were exceptional at it — I remember going to a dinner with a lawyer at Jones Day who said, ‘Doug, it doesn’t matter how good she becomes as a journalist, she’ll never be as good as she was as a lawyer,’ now he was wrong –”

“– this is supposed to be about you!” Kelly interjected.

“Well, he was wrong about it as it turns out, because you are the best journalist and anyone — I don’t know where the camera is — everyone watching at home knows you are the best,” he said.

Closing out the interview, Kelly said she had one more thing to ask: “Who is watching our children?”

Prior to having him on, Kelly promised one viewer on she wouldn’t let him do any “spin”: “Oh he’s gonna get the full MK treatment. :)” she tweeted.

For his part, Brunt certainly seemed please with how the segment went, tweeting afterward: “My wife is such a talented interviewer that even a dope like me can muddle through. Was a lot of fun. Thanks, babe.”

Yes you are right. I should have turned the channel to MSNBC the bastion of ‘fair’ unbiased repoting to watch the nterview between lovers Rachel Maddow and Sandra Fluke.

Thought the same thing. She’s a doll and he’s a hunk, but in a good way. Some nice looking men are so plastic or have an attitude, but Kelly, your husband looks like a real man who is also sweet & nice.
Thanks for sharing with us. God Bless your family.

It’s inspiring to see a married couple so obviously in love and fully supportive of one another.
They are a handsome pair…both with the kind of qualities we need more:
Drive, Intelligence, Humility, Talent, Etc, etc.
Heck, they are a cuter couple than Brad Pitt & Jennifer Aniston were.

No, how is someone cute for having drugs and sex as a trader? After Chicago Board of Trade traders do the same until they have actual holes in their noses? I don’t find it cute or smart!

Nobody has it all. She lost 100 hours a week from her life while she was a lawyer. She doesn’t get to spend time with her kids while she’s doing what she’s doing now. She chose to do things, very hard things, and was able to back off a little once she achieved some success.

If you want to have or do something, then go for it. If you’re old, you might die going for it, but still go for it because the trip is worth it. If you’re trapped by current responsibilities then work a little harder each day and when you get past the hump, go for it.

Don’t wish for something as if you can’t actually have it. Take responsibility for your decisions and put effort into getting what you want. Go for it.

@cliff etc. so she lost 100 hrs/week as a lawyer ? Ask her clients opinion about her “lost time” before you make a statement like that, ok? And I believe at least one of her kids was born while she was on FOX and even brought the little one into work while she was breastfeeding (I just might be wrong I am not sure about the time line on the first one).

He looks like a really decent guy (the hard to find type) So many of the “movee starz” types are nothing but trash, and often not husband material, good looking or not (which isn’t the criteria). We all enjoy nice looking people, but I always look for substance, not just the looks. To see a couple who look happy like they do, you know they are good, decent, people. Not the hollyweird types with problems.
