‘We’ll Deal With You’: Obama Campaign Staffer Allegedly Threatens NAACP Official
When the Obama campaign feels it has to threaten leaders of the NAACP in order to survive, you know they must sense blood in the water. And according to Chicago NAACP official David Lowery, president of Chicago’s South Suburban Branch, that is exactly what happened to him.

Lowery alleges that one Louis Raymond, the Illinois Political Director of Obama for America, issued a vague threat to him on a phone conversation. Reportedly, Lowery was explaining to Raymond that he (Lowery) doesn’t approve of the job the president’s doing because he doesn’t think the President is tackling issues of relevance to the black community. Rather than explain the president’s record, Raymond apparently went for a threat.
“You know what? We know everything about you,” Raymond shot back. “We’ve been watching you, and since you don’t support Obama, we’ll deal with you.”
The phone clicked. Raymond had hung up.
CBS Chicago describes what happened next:
Lowery filed a report with the Oak Forest police report, he says, βin case something happens.β
He says it was suggested the NAACP should automatically back the president. Lowery notes a non-profit cannot support a particular candidate.[...]
Louis Raymond declined to comment. The Obama re-election campaign issued a written statement in response to Loweryβs claims.
βUnfortunately there seems to have been a miscommunication regarding this conversation and we have since discussed with the campaign staffer in an effort to clarify the matter. The President continues to support the mission and principles of the NAACP and the work they do,β the statement said.
The really ironic part? Raymond may have just tried to unsuccessfully intimidate an undecided voter, as Lowery has explained he’s not for Romney either. After this bit of unpleasantness, however, he just might be taking a second look at the former Massachusetts Governor.

Almost all of the French Resistance in the Paris area were Communist.
