eBay Removes Ultra-Realistic James Holmes Halloween Mask

EBay has removed the listing for an ultra-realistic Halloween mask of accused Aurora, Colo. movie theater shooter James Holmes.

A seller identified only as “realface13” set an initial bid of $500 for the mask, complete with the orange-red hair Holmes had when he allegedly opened fire on a midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises” in July. Twelve people were killed and 58 others injured in the worst mass shooting in U.S. history.

“SHOCK EVERYONE YOU KNOW!” the eBay listing said. “There is nothing more scary than crawling into James Holmes mind and wearing his face. His ‘soul penetrating eyes’ and ‘The Joker’ orange hair makes this mask the most disturbing object you will ever own.”

The listing was removed Friday for not complying with eBay’s policy barring offensive material.

“The listing was removed because it did not comply with our Offensive Materials policy. Out of respect for victims of violent crimes, eBay does not allow listings that attempt to profit from human tragedy or suffering,” the company told ABC News.

Josh Nolan, a single father of two who was shot in the theater, told ABC he was outraged to hear about the mask.

“Are you kidding me?” he said. “That just took the cake right there. I’m too upset to think about it.”

There were no bids for the mask at the time the listing was deleted, according to ABC.

  Uh, I don’t know how much detail you want, but I’ll try to keep this simple by relating my explanation to the upcoming Halloween holidya:
  Authoritarians: Those folks who don’t believe in compromise or staying the hell out of others’ business when the authoritarian is in no way harmed or seriously inconvenienced by a personal choice. These are folks who WANT to lord over others ‘cuz they know best; they are often driven by nothing more than emotion which reflects their primary character trait: Intolerance. These are the people who want to ban events, words… anything they see as potentially disruptive to their little world. They can be wailing Bible thumpers & godless goons. The will let you know Halloween can’t be held on the 31st, or you can’t wear a full head mask, or you must be X years old to engage in festivities or there simply will be no Halloween because a minority of spoilsports can’t accept other people see an event as fun & might get a little rowdy. Bullies… for the right reasons… THEIR reasons. A.K.A., progressives.
  Your neck of the woods: Where you live & generally carry out your business. Let’s say, in the case of Halloween, those areas you consider to be within walking or at least biking distance.
  To be honest, I don’t think many people in my stomping ground would care. “Oh, look. The Gooch has engaged in one of his rare moments of overindulgence.” I suppose urban areas tend to harbor more busybodies.
