Israel Releases Footage of Military Shooting Down Drone That Penetrated its Airspace

Israel on Saturday released footage it said showed its air force shooting down a drone that crossed into the country’s airspace.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said the drone’s origin was under investigation. It crossed into Israeli airspace from the Mediterranean Sea and was brought down in the Negev desert in the south of the country.
“We had monitoring contact from the ground and from the air. We alerted jet planes that escorted the unmanned aerial vehicle and due to some operational considerations we decided to intercept the unmanned aerial vehicle in the northern Negev area, which has no population,” Lt. Col. Avital Leibovich said, according to the Associated Press.
Leibovich said the drone flew over the Gaza Strip but did not come from there. Israeli soldiers were searching the area where the drone went down to locate and identify it. No one was injured during the incident.
Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the drone flew over Israeli territory for “long minutes” but an Israel Defense Forces spokesman said it was “much less than half an hour.”
The footage released by the IDF shows shows a dark object flitting through crosshairs before something streaks across the sky to blow it up. What appears to be a fighter jet is then briefly seen.
According to the AP, the terrorist group Hezbollah has sent several drones into Israeli airspace in the past. In the 2006 war between Israel and Lebanon, Hezbollah launched into Israel an Iranian-made drone capable of carrying explosives that was shot down. Another drone crashed into the Mediterranean two years earlier.
In a statement, Defense Minister Ehud Barak congratulated the military and said Israel viewed the incident “very severely.”
“We view this incident of attempting to enter Israeli airspace very severely and we will consider our response later,” Barak said.

It it weren’t then God would be a liar because throughout the Bible, Israel is the chosen nation….Punished for denying the Messiah yes, but still the chosen… The one thing that I disagree with are the 144,000.. They are redeemed Jewish evangelists (12,000 from 12 tribes) who will go into the world and preach the Gospel during the 7 years of the tribulation.

That being said, I am confounded by all the posts that say God is with Israel. That is a theoligical error with grave consequences. Folks, Israel, for the most part, aboslutely rejects God’s Sinless Life and Atoning Sacrifice on the Cross. So why would God save Israel when they thoroughly reject Him? Answer, He won’t. Once the Gospel went to the Gentiles, Israel became all BELIEVERS. Yes, the Believers who place their Faith in the Atoning Sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. It doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or Greek, male or female, slave or free…. we are ALL [spiritual} Jews, and heirs. Thru Faith, we are sons of Abraham.
Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

God is still with the nation of Israel, not because of what they do, but for His namesake alone. What, you don’t think it was God’s hand that established Israel as a nation again in 1948?

But God is NOT finished with Israel. He promised that the Throne of David would be occupied by a descendant of David – Jesus Christ Himself, the Messiah – forever.
During this Church Age – the Age of Grace – God is dealing primarily with the non-Jewish believers, but Scripture makes it clear that He is not finished with Israel.
Once this Church Age ends at the Rapture, God will begin dealing again much more directly with Israel, so that during the Tribulation thousands of Jews will become saved, and during the Millennium, Israel will see the fulfillment of ALL of the Davidic and Abrahamic covenants, and more.
You are correct, though, in saying that only those who accept salvation by faith will be saved, whether of Jewish descent or not.
But Israel’s greatest day is yet to come.

Maybe you should also read the rest of his publications like Agrarian Justice where he advocates the conviscation of land from the wealthy to “spread the wealth around.”
For years many on the center-right and libertarian mind set have lifted this guy up but we were mistaken. He is a wolf in sheeps clothing.
Athiesm & agnosticism were the reasons why the French Revolution ended the way they did and it nearly cost Paine his life.
So yep, go read his dribble but do so understanding that historically Paine was on the wrong side of most issues. Paine was correct at times but so is a broken watch. Even Emperor Barrack has been correct at times ( just not often or for the right reasons.)
No, if America needs to look to a founder for guidence it should not be Doubitng Thomas but his at one-time friend and eventual arch-enemy Washington: a man of faith and reason. Reason alone will not save you but reason and faith is powerful.

Posted on October 6, 2012 at 7:40pmWhile I have no doubt that American intelligence does its best to keep tabs on Israel, launching a drone into Israeli airspace is so far beneath their abilities that, if it truly was the US, I’d have to start wondering about how effective our intelligence really is. My guess is that Iran either launched the drone itself or had one of its many bought-and-paid-for proxies do it on its behalf. As for its purpose, it could either be for spying or simply to test Israel’s response.

Posted on October 7, 2012 at 12:21amI’d like to give Israel time to find the remains of the drone and find out where it REALLY came from. What actual model it was based on, or if it was a REAL drone from American stock.
Things will get REAL interesting if they find that this drone was not a copy, but a REAL U.S. made drone.
However, if itbwas one of the few that Hezbollah has sent into Israel, then we know Iran is behind those.
