Twitchy Says It’s Been Temporarily Blocked From Facebook, Threatened With Permanent Ban

Conservative website Twitchy said Saturday that it had been temporarily blocked from posting on Facebook and threatened with a permanent ban after two of its posts were removed for violating the site’s community standards.

Twitchy said the first post to be removed dealt with a story about President Barack Obama’s official Twitter account subscribing to an explicit feed devoted to breasts. The post featured a censored photo from the Twitter account @ILikeTitsDaily:

Twitchy said it received a message from Facebook Saturday morning saying a second post had been removed, though without specifying which one. With the notice came a 24 hour ban from posting:

The message said we are being blocked from posting to our account for 24 hours and may be permanently banned from Facebook if we violate Facebook’s standards again. The message did not identify which post violated Facebook’s standards.

When we try to post to our Facebook page, we get the following message:

You recently posted something that violates Facebook policies, so you’re temporarily blocked from using this feature. Learn More.To keep from getting blocked again, please make sure you’ve read and understand Facebook’s Community Standards.

The block will be active for 23 hours more.

The site subsequently took to Twitter to ask Facebook about the ban:

A representative for Facebook did not immediately return a request for comment from TheBlaze Saturday afternoon.

UPDATE: Twitchy said via Twitter Saturday afternoon it had been unblocked from Facebook and that the posts were “accidentally removed during Facebook’s review process.”

We’re entering the Chicago phase of this election, the “fun” is just beginning, so this is not too much of a shock if you look at the shareholder info for Facebook. I seem to remember Soros dumping all his financial stocks and buying into Facebook, Walmart, and GE. I post a lot of conservative views and stories on my FB page and they disappear and get moved from the timeline/news feed. I think it is a concerted effort to censor anything they don’t like.

If it keeps happening, I will kill my FB page. Soon enough more will do the same.

  I too notice things being moved around and added, somehow they think I “Like” Susan Rice yet when I look at my personal likes she is nowhere to be found so I can “Unlike” her. If they think it’s cute or effective, sobeit. I will continue posting my views and ignore the little games played by FB. It is an effective means to get articles out to people that would not normally look for them.

  Why doesn’t everyone just kill their FB accounts? Why continue to enrich a bunch of leftists for totally extraneous crap? If you want people to see an article, just forward it or email a link? Personally, I’ve never used it, or twitter, or anything like that. Never will, probably.

  I find Facebook a much more interactive way to share articles and discuss with those who may want to challenge or add their opinions. E-mails that I get forwarded to me usually get deleted before I open them, I have no time to read through 3 pages of forwarding history to get to a one sentence description and a blind link. On FB I see the preview and know what site it comes from. FB may be left leaning, but it is how conservatives got beat in ’08. Use their own formats to beat them is how I look at it.

Who knew facebook had standards???? Considering its constant abuses of privacy, it
shouldn’t be censoring anyone. Personally, I hate facebook and have to use several
different blockers in hopes of keeping their tentacles out of my computer.

  I have three layers of security, (four counting my email’s anti-spam), and I still get some really ugly spam through facebook in my email sometimes. I have purposely done nothing to connect the two either, except for the “required” email address that facebook demands. They have some pretty darn good adware too. I hate read something online and thinking to myself, “how in the heck did they know that about me”. Then I remember posting something somewhere else that facebook picked up on somehow and are using it. Even when I use IE ‘in private browsing’……………

Facebook has done the same thing to me, and I don’t hardly do anything on my account but read the news feeds and ‘like’ the stories and stuff that I like. No ‘blogging’ or crazy stuff. But my account is almost all Christian and mild mannered right wing stuff. I got the same vague message from facebook when they blocked me for thirty days without any explanation. When I asked for one, they never relplied.

Pretty funny, I just ‘liked’ twitchy yesterday or the day before…..Maybe it’s my fault!! Facebook don’t like me……waa

I just took a look at my news feed and twitchy is back.

Michelle Malkin is under attack. I don’t know what to make of the photos or posts being removed by Facebook. Something doesn’t feel right about this whole situation. This is probably a coordinated attack to limit Malkin’s influence and to intimidate and suppress those people and groups that are a threat to the Obama Administration and the Leftists. Despite this, I like Michelle Malkin because she can easily hold her own in any debate. She may even be more outspoken that Ann Coulter. I think no matter what happens, Michelle Malkin will NOT be silenced. She definitely has my respect.

I think many of those “bans” MAY be automated? I would think there are way too many accounts to police them all “by hand,” but then hers may be under “special watch” – who knows? Perhaps Twitchy should simply post the information without photos. . .?

  I suspect Zuckerburg doesn’t like feeling like a fool for backing Obama. So, rather publically changing his political views he uses Facebook to censor opposing viewpoints. The party of tolerance is anything but tolerant. Freedome of speech only applies to those who agree with the far left and fall upon their knees to bow to this Obamination of a POTUS. Twitchy compiles tweeting trends so you know collectively what is going on in the twitter world. If something is up, they will post it on their Facebook account…it’s probably linked to automatically post. Some Lib a-hole probably manipulated something in order to get twitchy banned. Michelle Malkin came up with what I think was a terrific idea.
