Obama Supporters Argue for Teleprompters in Presidential Debates After Romney Beats Obama

There are many ideas floating around as to why President Obama underperformed in last Wednesday’s debate against Republican challenger Mitt Romney. Al Gore thinks the altitude may have something to do with it, while Bill Maher has suggested the president may have gotten high before the battle of wits. Rush Limbaugh and many in the conservative media, however, say Romney’s ideas are simply superior, and Obama has nothing in his record he can defend.

Well, now a new excuse is being peddled.

Apparently, some consider it “unfair” that President Obama wasn’t able to use his now-infamous teleprompter. As one man stated, “How’s he going to memorize an hour and a half debate?”

Watch Rebel Pundit interview some of the president’s most loyal supporters at an Obama for America rally in Wisconsin Thursday, via Breitbart, for more:

“How unfair was it for the Debate Commission to not allow the president to use his teleprompter?” the interviewer asks at the beginning of the clip.

From there, a number of Obama supporters are seen saying, among other things, that they had no idea Obama was “off-prompter,” and that he probably would have fared better if he had been able to read his answers.

“Why? Why would you not let him use his teleprompter, you know?” one young man asks in response.

To be fair, however, there were some who were torn on the issue, and one who said Obama was strategically “holding back.”

Soon after, the video ends on a “fair” note with two women saying: “Shouldn’t they both be able to [use their teleprompters]?”

  Well, DUH? How can you let a person in a Debate use a teleprompter? First off, he would be reading words of someone else during a debate, and 2nd, how can someone type fast enough to stay up with the subject of that debate? DUH? It’s not like reading a prepared text when you’re debating.
  
  3rd Is obama so dense, he can’t keep facts in his head? Then don’t say it if you can’t remember facts or subjects. No one has ever used teleprompter for a debate, it’s not even up for grabs.
  
  When you lie about everything, it’s hard to keep facts in your head. Tell the truth.
  
  p.s. I’ve seen obama & that hateful andrea mitchell telling whoppers on a new ad. How can they even hold their heads up? Romney DID say what he was going to do, and I’m not part of the MSM.

  I’m convinced after reviewing the debate tapes, that the reason Obama kept looking down was because he was reading texted messages of how to answer the questions. It is obvious when you review the tapes that’s what he is doing. Is he really that empty headed? No teleprompters but texted answers. Pathetic.

He should be the most well-informed individual in the United States when it comes to the issue of the US government. And if he had firm convictions he should be able to express them.   One doesn’t memorize a debate. It’s not a script, this isn’t a play by Shakespeare. The whole point of any debate is to hash out ideas and thoughts against an opponent, ad hoc. Sure, you may know the topics going in, but the onus is on each debater to prepare and be ready to counter all challengers.

  Don’t assume an earpiece wasn’t used. I see that dumb look daily. We work with communication pieces in one ear. Live conversations are constantly interrupted by radio talk…and for awhile we all look idiotic to the person talking in person to us at the time. No doubt ultra small units exist.   Obama’s ears are big enough. There is nothing between them. They want to cheat on everything. It is so funny to watch the spinners trying to excuse him for his poor performance. The coordinated media calling Romney a liar and spinning what he said is actually funny and so predictable.
  Romney’s positions have been consistent. Obama framed and characterized his tax plan and then acts as if their characterization is the truth. This is a rates versus revenue argument. If more people are working there is more taxpayers and thus more revenue. If you put a cap on deductions it hits the higher earners…..he even said….pick a number. Everything Romney has been saying about his tax plan has been consistent. All the dems have is raise taxes for more money but keep spending and only take from the top. Romney was clear. 90 billion on bankrupt solar companies is the Obama way.
  Obama is a liar. This was the business executive with a degree in business versus a lower level salesman who has 4 years of sales experience selling on bullsh*t. If you repeat a lie enough the moron voters will believe it as truth. The target voters are the ignorant, gullible Americans who pay no attention to what is actually going on. It is a sad day when we all lose our freedom because of the ignorant.

  How in the world would it make an sense! First, he’s been (at least presumably) the president for nearly 4 years! He shouldn’t have even had to ‘study up’ for the debate. MAYBE a little statistic checking and learning about his opponent, but that should be about an hour. Instead he’s on the news carrying pizza’s and talking on the phone about how much ‘they’ are keeping him inside and ‘making’ him study. Then this!!!! Really! A teleprompter! Wait, he’s been in the mix for 4 years! If ANYONE on that stage should have been allowed a tele, it would have been Mitt. He’s older that Obama, and he’s never even ran, much less spent 4 years in the office! Seriously people, a teleprompter! Is this even worth our time to discuss! How pathetic is that!

  Why not just have the speech writer on stage and we can debate him or her. Seems much simpler to cut out the middle man.
  
  In fact why not just have the speech writer run the country. As it stands, we have a speech giver as a President anyway so lets cut out the middle man.
  
  Although, considering the President has many speech writers, the stage might get crowded.
  
  Maybe they could draw straws to see who gets to run the country and who gets to debate.

  The question asked is leading and flawed from the very beginning. The question asks “How unfair is it that…..” starting with the premise that the lack of the TelePrompter for Obama is inherently unfair. This is utterly ridiculous and these BO supporters obviously do not know what a debate is. One states, “How is he (Obama) going to memorize an hour and a half debate?”. Just so you liberals know, you are not supposed to memorize a debate. There is nothing to memorize. The questions should not be known by either party prior to the debate. Perhaps the subjects may be known by the debaters but not the questions. I think this question goes a long way towards proving that liberalism is a mental disorder. Heck the liberals were having a meltdown when they thought Romney was cheating with notes written on a handkercheif……If Romney is not supposed to have a hanky with notes on it what makes them think it is fair for Obama to have a TelePrompter?

  I remeber hearing a CEO of a major company saying that he and several other CEOs met with the President in the first part of ’09. He said there were only 8-10 people in the room and the President was using a teleprompter. This is not the actions of an intelligent man.   Obama is a programmed speaker. If he memorized it then he can deliver it. If he can read it off a teleprompter then he can deliver it. Obama is not a leader. He is incapable of managing the country, or spending within our means or setting a budget. He wasted 90 billion on his bankrupt donor solar companies. He is a pawn or puppet of the global forces wanting world redistrubution through UN power over us. His mommy and daddy were commies and so were his grandparents. Go through his czars. He is a liar and the biggest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people. Obamacare was the main focus to take us over. No one is getting their previous healthcare because this will evolve into government care~all employers will dump and not just the 30% admitting to it. The trigger is the fine. Seniors won’t get a doctor to see them with the cuts in the already low reimbursements and that government panel will be using their chart of who matters….years left versus cost of care to ration and deny them based on age. Proof that people don’t even think about what they’re saying. Or, could it be that so many have no idea what a teleprompter is?

  His answer should have been, I have looked into this problem and we need to revalue taxes on ALL of the taxpayers and reverse the decrease the impact by allow average payment over the decreasing period without decreasing the base linear reduce to maximize the lower input to the American Taxpayer.   @means – CW is that Obama will do really well in the next (Town Hall) debate. I think it will be a repeat of this one. All the pundits think Obama can “connect” with voters – when the truth is that Romney is the one who really spends time with regular folks and really knows what makes them tick. Add to that Obama is probably being egged on to fight back next time – which really doesn’t work in a Town Hall devbate – and I think the next debate will about as bad as this one.
  
  Of course, what do I know. (Besides knowing that the stimulus wouldn’t work, Ben Bernanke is creating the largest economic bubble in human history, QE wouldn’t work, Obama care would increase costs, raising taxes won’t reduce the deficit.   Exactly! To use a teleprompter one would have to know ALL the questions to be presented. Also, who would be writing the answers to those questions? Apparently, the president doesn’t like much discussion at all. If he did, he would have been discussing security briefings, rather than “reading” them. This has to be the second silliest thing suggested, after the comment from Al Gore, that the altitude affected his brain. ROFL. Al Gore, is obsessed with mother nature.
