France Boosts Security Around Synagogues After Blanks Fired at Synagogue Near Paris

PARIS (AP) — France is boosting security at Jewish religious sites after blanks were fired at a synagogue west of Paris amid renewed concerns about anti-Semitism around the country.

French President Francois Hollande met Sunday with leaders of the country’s Jewish community and pledged to fight extremism and anti-Semitism “with the greatest firmness.”

He said that authorities “in the coming days, in the coming hours” will increase security at Jewish religious sites so they won’t be subject to the kind of attack that targeted a synagogue in the Paris suburb of Argenteuil on Saturday night.

A synagogue representative said witnesses heard what sounded like a weapon being fired and that police said blanks had been fired and empty bullet casings found. Local police would not comment on the incident to the AP. Services were canceled at the synagogue, the representative said, speaking on condition of anonymity because a police investigation is under way.

It came hours after police carried out raids across France on Saturday targeting a suspected jihadist cell of young Frenchmen recently converted to Islam. DNA on a grenade that exploded last month at a kosher grocery store led them to a member of the cell, who was killed in a shootout with police Saturday.

Officials said he had been under surveillance since last spring – around the time a French Islamist radical went on a shooting rampage against a Jewish school and French soldiers, killing seven people.

A leading French Muslim organization, the CFCM, denounced the synagogue attack. It said in a statement Sunday that it “assures the French Jewish community of its support and fraternal solidarity in the face of all attacks that target its members and institutions.”

Jews should know from HISTORY that french would never be their ally because french is famous on lacking on two body parts: spine and gut. That is, France would never be their home. Canaan is their ONLY home. Go home as soon as possible!!!

Good! It’s about time that France step up to the plate! We’re headed to precisely this, if we don’t get the dhimmis out of our Western governments who are kowtowing to these Islamist Supremacist mass murderers.

Islam’s intolerance, plunder, horrific genocide and occupation has been going on for 1400 years now and it’s time that we put a stop to it. There was no “Golden Age” in Islam. It was mass murder. They killed everyone, or subjugated them, then they took their wealth and occupied their countries that didn’t, and never, belonged to them. They’re the greatest of occupiers and enslavers. That’s what they do! Mohammed waged jihad every six week until he died and until there was not an enemy left standing. And he did it by stealth. He went into Medina in a surprise attack and beheaded all the male Jews there and took their women and children as slaves. And his followers have been doing this ever since.

So because someone fired blanks near a synagogue we’re supposed to assume that it was carried about by Muslims and it was because of antisemitism before the authorities complete their investigation? Well, I suppose that fits into the Blazes narrative. Heck, I’m still trying to grasp how one attacks with BLANKS in the first place.

  Firing blanks is essentially the same as sending a death threat. As for it being Muslims, that is simply using deductive reasoning based on past behavior. It’s not as though it’s likely to be the Chinese after all. On the other hand, given the French history of antisemitism, it could be Frenchmen as well.

  Tzion, It might be, but it could be a drunk popping off a few for kicks too and like you said it could have been a Frenchmen. Where I’m from, if you don’t hear gun shots going off, something is wrong. lol And blanks are a kids’ toy. Hell, we shot skeet with a 12 gauge in gym class. Last year someone cracked off 8 rounds of a .45 a couple of houses down from the road. We’re assuming it was because of drugs, but they never really investigated it. My point is it could be any number of reasons and the Synagogue being close could be a coincidence. People do dumb ****. I know the Blaze is trying to suggest antisemitism is on the rise, but I just don’t see it anywhere other than here, and I see a bunch of BS coming from this site, so I’m a skeptic.

  I’m weary of what “raising security” means. I reckon if it doesn’t entail depriving anyone else of their rights like raising security means in the US. A couple of police watching over is no biggie. It’s irresponsible for the Blaze to publish this article in the way they presented it though.

  I live way too close to Dearborn,I can smell the hummus and mutton. Yes we do have a serious problem with the Islamists in America because this regime is putting them in positions of power. If we don’t remove these lunatics from our government we will never defeat the pigs,hell we’re not even allowed to identify the enemy within. Yeah. Right. If it weren’t for French Jews, the French wouldn’t have any friends, not with having surrendered large blocs of their cities to the viral islamic hordes. They’re getting what they deserve, and so will we, if we don’t recognize islam as the POLITICAL movement it is, and tax the crap out of their mosques, and force them to he!! out of here.

Whenever I hear someone talk about “peaceful” muslims, I see slit throats. islam, like many drugs, is a gateway to political power at any price; You have but two choices when confronted by islamists – you can convert or die, or you can pay a tax in exchange for being allowed to live out your existence in misery. Regardless of your status, the price is high for failing to adhere to islamic tenets. They’re within a couple of years of fully controlling Dearborn, Michigan, as as they gain poltical power, the more ruthless they’ll become, as if they weren’t already.   Video – We can do anything about Deerborn. It is under Union Controlled and the only standing in the way of a One World everyone works for the Union Government. However, If you want to bring that protest against Muslims down to Texas. I can promise you it will be lights out after the first egg toss.

In France some are trying to protect Jews from Muslim terrorists. In America there are some who are trying to protect Muslims from non existing terrorism.

  One of the major key reasons for my long disgust (to the point of hatred) with Paul is his absolutely insane and moronic positions regarding foreign policy, notwithstanding his anti-Jew conspiratorialist agenda and past racism that only recently, some of his own former associates brought to our attention. Eric Dondero being one.
  
  As further evidence of what I consider to be Paul’s Jane Fona-esque treason, whether willful or by clueless idiocy, Paul provided the enemies of the United States, his own anti-American platform and anti-semitic positions to arm themselves with ammunition to wage their own war against the infidel Great and Little Satan.
  
  The enemies of America had an ally in Ron Paul, and have a continued ally in his acolytes JUST like you and JUST like Obama… and they are moving forward. For the Jihadists and radical Islamists, their future seems bright. By you and your ilk helping enable Obama to a second term… YOU continue help enable the Jihadists even as Paul (the Obama-like America blamer and apologist) rides off on his bicycle and into the sunset.
