Report: Obama Heading to L.A. to ‘Reassure’ Hollywood Donors After Debate Performance

President Barack Obama’s fundraising trip to Los Angeles this weekend will provide a boost to his campaign coffers — and also an opportunity to soothe his Hollywood supporters left shaken after his widely-panned debate performance against Republican rival Mitt Romney.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Sunday night’s star-studded concert and $25,000-per-plate dinner will now have Obama “reassuring” his donors that he’s still committed to victory and ready for Romney in round two. As the Reporter noted, the entertainment industry has been a lucrative fountain for the president to tap this campaign cycle, but there is “no doubt” the Hollywood crowd was “deeply shaken” by what transpired in Denver on Wednesday.
“Everyone is in shock,” a “longtime Democratic activist” told the Hollywood Reporter. “No one can understand what happened.”
Citing “several longtime Obama supporters” the Reporter said Obama can also expect some camera-ready tips for the next go-around — “directorial notes on how to tailor his performance to television’s split screen.”
Obama’s night will kick off at L.A.’s Nokia Theater with Katy Perry, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, Jon Bon Jovi and others before headlining the dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s WP24. Both events could net more than $5 million for the campaign.
The trip will also include a private meeting with a dozen top donors in Beverly Hills, which former President Bill Clinton is expected to attend.
“Everyone with a connection to the president is reaching out to him,” another “veteran Dem” told the Reporter. “At the end of the day, the best coach he has is himself.”

Then he slouched the debate for 3 reasons: 1 – he doesn’t give Romney the chance to defend the BS things from his ads, 2 – he backs off so he doesn’t put his foot in his mouth by inadvertently revealing his master plan of socialism like he often does from time to time unscripted, and 3 – He stands to gain more points overall from the #’s than he would by out debating Romney. Also he reduces his overall unscripted exposure by 1 debate. Next debate he comes out aggressive…….I’m still trying to figure out how he can get away with this whole WARN Act bypass… It can’t be anymore clear that the administration is telling a private company to break the law for political gain/favors and to ad insult to injury , when they get sued for not sending the pink slips and breaking the law, the administration is gonna pay for it out our pockets…. It is my opinion that he set out to bring the USA down to the level of third world countries and he is on tract to accomplish that goal. Of course, he cannot and will not say that. Better to look incompetent. His only option will be to repeat the empty promises and meaningless phrases in hopes that his base and some independents will buy into it again. Make no mistake, this election will determine whether our Constitution, even in its current weakened form, will continue to be the roadmap for our government or whether we will become another Venezuela.
