10 Hollywood Performers Who You May Not Have Known Are Christians

As TheBlaze recently highlighted, Republicans are a rarity in Hollywood, however they aren’t the only underrepresented group in the entertainment industry. Christians, too, are an uncommon breed among Tinseltown’s successful singers, actors and entertainers. But if one looks hard enough, he or she will be able to find unique performers who embrace Jesus Christ wholeheartedly.

Below, find 10 of the most fascinating actors, singers and comedians who call themselves Christians. Typically, an individual falling under this category has a strong stated belief that Jesus Christ is God’s son and that he died the the sins of humanity. The following Hollywood elite fit this category:

Kristin Chenoweth

Kristin Chenoweth is a popular actress and singer who’s known for her humor and talent. In recent months, she sparked controversy after a television show she starred in, “Good Christian Belles” (GCB), was accused of being anti-Christian. Following its short run, the program was cancelled earlier this year.

Chenoweth has publicly made her Christian views known. ”I’m a Christian, I think that’s pretty well known, and I would never do anything that I think crossed the line,” she said earlier this year of her participation in GCB.

The actress, while being openly Christian, has also sparked controversy among social conservatives for being a proponent of gay rights.

Kirk Cameron

When it comes to pinpointing Chenoweth’s polar opposite — at least when it comes to same-sex marriage — actor Kirk Cameron comes to mind. The outspoken evangelical, known for his starring role in “Growing Pains,” now makes documentaries and stars in a plethora of faith-based films.

In contrast to Chenoweth, Cameron has found himself the focus of angst among gay activists, particularly after he voiced opposition to same-sex marriage earlier this year.

In the faith world, the actor is revered for his work in the family-friendly film industry. In March, Cameron told TheBlaze in detail about his transformation from atheism to Christianity years ago. “I can’t breathe without God,” he said of his current relationship with the Almighty.

Jane Fonda

Actress Jane Fonda is many things to many people. During Vietnam, she was an outspoken activist against the war (she was even nicknamed “Hanoi Jane”). To this day, many still harbor negative views as a result of her allegedly anti-American activities decades ago.

Fonda, who grew up an atheist, considers herself an outspoken feminist — keeping in line with her penchant for activism.

On the faith front, the actress grew up an atheist, but now considers herself — though not in the traditional sense — a Christian. Take, for instance, some comments she gave in a 2005 interview with Beliefnet about her then-new-found faith:

“I think it has a spiritual element. I think feminism is about the spirit. I think feminism is another way of teaching what Jesus taught, that we are all full human beings with the right to have our humanity seen and respected. That is what feminism is, and that’s what Jesus taught.

I just think that for too long-not in the beginning, not at all in the beginning; it was very faith-based in the beginning, the women’s movement. It’s become secular and I think that that’s beginning to shift and I think it needs to shift.”

While she has made it clear that she doesn’t want to be associated with the more conservative themes that accompany born-again Christianity, her penchant for Jesus Christ — at least from a historical sense — is evident.

Brian Welch of Korn

When it comes to Korn, a popular heavy-metal band, Christianity isn’t the first attribute that comes to mind. Enter Brian “Head” Welch, the co-founder of the band and its former guitarist. After converting to Christianity, he quit playing with Korn in 2005 — and has since been an active artist in the faith-based music scene.

In an interview with MTV the former secular heavy-metal artist explained his reasons for leaving:

“I love everybody in the band — I was afraid to leave. It made me sad to think that I would be hurting the band if I left. For the last year and a half, I wanted to leave, but someone would always talk to me and convince me to stay. But I’ve had a problem with the way things were going since the second record. I mean, we would do things, and I would be like, ‘Oh, this is metal! This is the rock and roll life!’ But inside, I thought they took it too far. It was a little too crude for me.”

After relying upon the Bible for guidance and doing some soul searching, he finally decided that he had to leave the band. Today, he’s still performing music and touring (information can be found on his web site).

Carrie Underwood

Country singer Carrie Underwood is yet another outspoken Christian. While faith isn’t as present in the entertainment industry as a whole, it is much more prevalent in the country music scene, where people like Underwood aren’t as uncommon. She and her husband, professional hockey player Mike Fisher, are practicing believers who actively engage their faith.

“Every Wednesday, my husband and I have a study group with our friends. I attend church. We try to devote time in the morning, say a prayer,” Underwood said in an interview with CMT. “I’m not a big reader, though. I have to feel it, hear it, touch it, be involved in it.”

Underwood made headlines earlier this year when she endorsed gay marriage and said that she and her husband attend a “gay-friendly,” non-denominational church.

“As a married person myself, I don’t know what it’s like to be told I can’t marry somebody I love, and want to marry,” the singer told The Independent. “I can’t imagine how that must feel. I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love.”

Chris Tucker

After numerous high-profile film roles, comedian and actor Chris Tucker became a Christian in 1997. While not much is known about his faith background, Biography has a fascinating recap worth reading:

On 19 April 2005, Tucker was arrested for driving at 109 mph on Interstate 20 in Georgia and eluding arrest, with his defence being that he was late for church. After filming ‘Money Talks’ in 1997, Tucker became a born-again Christian. [...]

Despite achieving an unprecedented $25 million salary to appear in ‘Rush Hour 3′, Tucker’s career has been slow with the actor returning to stand-up comedy in 2011.

He will be returning to film later this year when he appears in ‘The Silver Linings Playbook’ with Bradley Cooper, Julia Stiles and Robert De Niro.

Tucker now commutes between Georgia and California and is believed to have a live-in girlfriend with whom he has a daughter.

So, there you have it. While Tucker’s official biography on his web site doesn’t mention anything about his faith, it does say that he is a “humanitarian” and that he has a foundation (though the details on both are not readily available).

Denzel Washington

Denzel Washington is a staple in Hollywood. One of the most recognizable actors, Washington is also known for being a man of deep and profound faith. In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, he discussed the importance of reading the Bible each day.

“I read from the Bible every day, and I read my Daily Word,” he said. “I read something great yesterday. It said, ‘Don’t aspire to make a living. Aspire to make a difference.’”

This sentiment, though, is nothing new. After first experiencing what he believes to be the Holy Spirit thirty years ago, Washington continues to highlight the importance of God in his life. Rather than shying away from sharing his perspective, he very regularly speaks about his Christian adherence.

Chuck Norris

“Walker Texas Ranger” isn’t Chuck Norris’ only claim to fame. The actor and fitness guru is also an outspoken Republican and — an evangelical Christian (he even has a portion of his web site devoted to faith). This Christian Broadcasting Network description from a few years back perfectly describes the film star:

He is a six-time World Karate Champion, hero of more than 23 feature films, star and producer of his own long-running, award-winning prime-time TV show, a friend of several presidents, a big fan and endorser of Fitness Quest’s Total Gym, and a father for the second time around to twins Danilee and Dakota. Add to that list a beautiful wife whom he considers his soul mate. Oh, and don’t forget to throw in Bible-believing Christian, the kind that gets invitations to speak at Christian ministries like T.D. Jakes Ministry.

Norris’ faith views and conservative values are well-documented. In fact, his recent plea to America to vote out President Barack Obama raised some eyebrows (yet, once again, reinforced his right-of-center views).

Jay Mohr

Jay Mohr is a surprising addition to this list. While he finds himself in agreement with conservative evangelicals when it comes to the atheist activist community, he differs greatly on theological matters (TheBlaze profiled him earlier this year).

Despite being known for edgy comedy at times, Mohr told TheBlaze about his conversion experience not long ago. Today, he considers himself a practicing Catholic, although he has some controversial views — at least in Christian circles — about concepts like the Bible and hell.

“I’m not sure that God wrote 10 commandments on tablets, but I am sure that a man came and told masses [the masses], ‘Hey this is what I just got,’” he said, referring to Moses in Exodus and Deuteronomy.

“I think we‘re all God’s sons, because in John 3:16, he says ‘you’re the son of God,‘ but earlier in John he says ’you’re the son of man,’” he also claimed, when asked if Jesus Christ was God’s son.

Controversial, but still a self-described man of God.

Martin Sheen

Actor Martin Sheen is the final individual we’re including on today’s list. The actor, a well-known political activist (of the left-of-center persuasion), is a Catholic who also has some intriguing views about Jesus Christ. While he once fell away from church attendance, an illness brought him closer, once again, to the faith he once actively lived out.

Actor Martin Sheen (Photo Credit: AP)

Beliefnet has more about Sheen’s faith:

Martin Sheen is a Catholic who chose his stage name in honor of Catholic theologian Fulton J. Sheen. Though he strayed from the Church, he returned after falling seriously ill during the filming of “Apocalypse Now.” Sheen, an Emmy and Golden Globe winner, has often been quoted linking his faith and his activism. “You know, the essence of the Gospel of Jesus was extremely radical, and that’s why they killed Him,” he told one interviewer.

To another he said, “It doesn’t really matter how much of the rules or the dogma we accepted and lived by if we’re not really living by the fundamental creed of the Catholic Church, which is service to others and finding God in ourselves and then seeing God in everyone–including our enemies.”

Sheen’s views represent a fascinating fusion of both politics and theology.

So, there you have it — 10 of Hollywood’s most intriguing Christians. What do you think? Let us know in the comments section, below.

Jane Fonda and allegedly anti-American activities. Allegedly needs to be taken out of that sentence once and for all. There is nothing alleged about her sitting in the gunner’s set of a NVA anti-aircraft machine gun while imprisoned Americans are being tortured a few miles away. I had the sad duty of being a POW debriefer. I rate that duty as the worst I ever had, including my tour of duty.

Somehow she believes in a feminist spritiualism. Too bad she doesn’t believe in Christianity.

My wife believes that Fonda made a positive contribution to the military. Men like my son are thanked for their service.

I am 64 and still can call up my utter distain for this woman.

I’m with you. I was in Vietnam when Hanoi Jane was filmed pretending to fire the North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun. Great for morale of our troops and the folks back home. I thought she was a traitor then, I think she is a traitor now. I don’t care what “faith” she hides behind, I think there is a special place waiting for a person that did what she did.

I agree. My only real surprises were Jane Fonda and Martin Sheen. I believe Denzel Washington is, but saying he reads his bible every day doesn’t justify a true belief. I know lots of people who sit in a church, read their bibles and can quote you scripture, but show no fruit, and often show bad fruit.

The news came out some years ago that Fonda converted to Christianity. I personally haven’t seen any evidence of that in her public life though. I know she has made one or two movies that most Christians would not go to see because of the content. Not judging, just commenting on what I know….

Thanks for your service. I don’t know if you know the difference between a Fairy Tale and a Sea Story, but a FT begins with “once upon a time” whereas a SS starts with “this is a no shi##ter”.
That is a no shi##er, one day back in the 80′s our sub had a COC and the very first action of the new CO was to have the movie officer remove all JF movies off the boat that very day. He didn’t even want them left on the pier next to the boat. The crew was pretty happy about that.

I’ve known Kirk Cameron was a Christian for a while. Carrie Underwood can’t be country without being a Christian (might I say she is ravishingly beautiful)

As for the others, I dislike lumping groups, but I wasn’t surprised that Denzel and the other black men were Christian. Many blacks are devout.

Unfortunately, there is more to being “a Christian” than just “believing in God”:

Not suppose to judge but..bible says we can know them by their fruits…Jane Fonda seems to me to go with the wind. SHE WAS IN NORTH VIETNAM she is a TRAITOR…and if truly a born again Christian she would admit it and take whatever punishment came her way. I pray she truly is a Christian same for all of the people in this article. A couple I know in my heart if they died immediately they would see HEAVEN…the others there are doubts…I am going to save this article. Send to friends and we will all say prayers. No one should doubt the deity of JESUS and Moses receiving words on tablet is not a lie or made up fairy tale. Just people don’t want to admit that it is true.

I cannot speak to the feminist spiritualism she speaks of…sounds as bizarre a something out there as there is. I’m not condoning the anti-war stuff from the 70′s and beyond. She scarred soldiers and their families, like you dear sir, and you have every right in the world to be upset. But I can speak to one thing: I worked with a lady that was present when Jane prayed the prayer of salvation. There is a special place waiting for Jane. Prior to my salvation, while things I did were no where near as horrendous and shameful as Jane’s in Vietnam, had I died I would have gone straight to he//. If she, like myself, was sincere in praying the prayer of salvation, heaven awaits. Actions, thoughts, etc. post-prayer of salvation are expected to be Christ like. When they’re not, we have to confess and repent those things. Not all of us do and we will be held accountable. But if our name is in the Book of Life we will go to heaven.

Ultimately, her salvation is between her and God. But, many would probably say that she fails to qualify by Biblical standards. After all, being “born again” was an important part of what Jesus Christ told Nicodemis in John chapter 3.

I have to agree with Dismayed Veteran, I too am a Vietnam veteran ’67-’68. It has been said one of the POW’s handed her a list of POW’s at Hanoi Hilton as she visited (sic) with them as she strolled up and down the group of prisoners shaking their hands as she did so. After she finished her inspection of the POW’s she promptly handed the camp commander the list of prisoner’s, after she left they were then severely punished and tortured for their attempt to get information back to the United States about who was actually being interned there. No, God may forgive her for her transgressions, but I cannot and will not forgive her for her acts to undermine our military during this period. She will not get a free pass from me, I will forgive those we fought against but not her. USAR Retired

DISMAYED VETERAN: All the others I can relate to, however, that jane fonda is one I’ll never get out of my mind as Hanoi Jane and the despicable things she did to this Nation during the Korean war.
And yeah, I’ll never forget her warming up to the enemy on that enemy tank/gun and the poor American men who lost their lives and were POW’s and she had so little respect for our Country. This woman is stretching it to call herself a Christian after this display.
I know she married Turner and supposedly became a Christian later and I almost believed her, but after she moved back to Calif. she’s said and done things that give you pause to wonder what she REALLY believes in. Mine is not to reason why. That’s (thank goodness) between her & God.

Sadly Hanoi Jane, can call herself a Christian, but GOD knows us by our works. GOOD works come from a truly repentant heart, seeking forgiveness. The works are a RESULT of this heartfelt attitude, not the cause of it. jane, sdaly, expresses MANY views, not in accord with TRUE truth. TOO many self confessed Hollywood Christians, claim Christ but do not LIVE out their Faith. faith WITHOUT works is dead. I do not judge, but I have been given discernment, to tell those who proclaim Christ, but live otherwise. We ALL struggle with our sin nature, as Paul, so eloquently put it. “WHY do I do the things, I should NOT, instead of doing that which is right? For it is the sin nature in me. Paul did give in to it,obvuosly, occasionally, whatever the sins were., but repented, and sought forgiveness when he did, as should we, Jane, and many of the others who proclaim Christ, but speak, and do Evil, should do the same. I pray they do.

While it may be fabulous that these Hollywood ilks call themselves Christians. There simply cannot be ONE SINGLE person of faith who knowingly knows of the sins of Obama against Christians everywhere that would vote for this man.
He is the closest to the Anti-Christ that we have ever seen in our modern times.
If you call yourself a Christian and vote for this man I can only hope for absolution for you.

      Lately,
all Fonda has been blabbing about is how much great sex
she is having for a woman her age.

Good for you Hot Pants, but America doesn’t really give a damn
what you’re doing with your life.

Whatever truth she bends, on faith or frolic-
she still waxes poetic on Oblameo & blames Bush for everything
that doesn’t appeal to any of her 5 senses.

      Speaking of screwing-
I don’t believe she has the foggiest reason why
the country can’t forgive her for “screwing” our Military,
if she does, she fakes knowing why.
She’s forever a pig……if she deems herself to be a “religious” pig-
so be it, that is still her cross to bear.

Chuck Norris is a swell guy
but when is that pretty wife of his going to tell him
to shed the Judy Carne hairpiece
and go for a nice, shaved head ?

With all his money, you’d think he could find a better solution.

It is so disturbingly bad, it distracts from all the good he has to say & do.
It’s hard to take someone in his position serious…rockin’ a red bouffant.

Worship of the feminine spirit has a name and it is not Christian. It is called mother earth worship…or gaia, the goddess in mythology. Jane can call it anything she wants to, but she is just fooling herself and others like herself. As for whether she will be forgiven for what she has done? That is not up to us, but her worship of her feminine goddess/spirit isn’t going to do her any good.

Here’s the best example I can think of as proof of Denzel Washington’s faith. While touring a military hospital in Texas, his tour guides showed him the houses that family members of wounded soldiers lived in while the soldiers were there for treatment and was told the only problem was that they didn’t have enough of them. Mr Washington (I feel he deserves that respect) asked the cost of one of the homes, and when told, pulled out a checkbook and wrote a check for the construction of another one. That is someone putting their money where their mouth is. May God bless him in all of his endeavors.

This is what a Navy Captian told me in 1985. He was one of the prisoners at the Hanoi Hilton in North Vietnam. He was there when Jayne Fonda was up there. She was brought in to persuade the Americans to sign letters agreeing they were war criminals.
This Capt said, after he refused, he was beat yet again. Savagley, as he was being carried out, his friend was being taken in he saw his friend spit in Fonda’s face. He saw her scream and yell “I want him dead”. After his beating the man who spit in her face died.
That is the Jayne Fonda I know. If you listen to her tripe on about liberalism today, she is the same hate filled person. Just because she is no longer an Athiest, don’t mean she is a Christian either. If Hitler claimed to be one, would you add him to the list?

Not all who claim the name of Christ are Christians. “You will know them by their fruit”, said Jesus. “A bad tree cannot bear good fruit.”

When Jane Fonda says she is a Christian “not in the traditional sense”, it means she has rejected orthodox historic Christianity and instead opted for creating a Christ in her own image, something many people do and will do. Jesus himself told us they would. He also warned us not to be deceived.

Go ahead and say you’re a Christian. I’ll look at your life and see if it is so. And before any well meaning mush head pops off with “judge not lest you be judged”, please. That is not a license to do or say whatever one wishes and escape criticism. Paul said we are to judge all things, especially matters involving the church and those who claim to be members of it. Do they walk what they profess? Do they repent from sin? Do they strive to more like Christ? Are they a witness to the power of the Gospel?

And when did being a feminist become a Christian value? Killing the unborn, sexual promiscuity increasing cancer risks and choosing career over family.

Jane Fonda is not a “Hollywood celebrity”, she is a geriatric has-been who has not made a movie in decades. And the reason she hasn’t worked is that Hollywood, although they mostly sympathize with her politics and her past actions, also are hip to the “bottom line” and they know full well that any movie with her in it will earn zero money in ticket sales to any Vietnam veterans, who loathe her and everything she stands for. Ms. Fonda is a traitor who actively cooperated with our enemies while a state of war existed between us, and she betrayed the trust of the P.O.W.’s in the Hanoi Hilton. A Christian? Swell, because that’s the only way she can achieve forgiveness for her sins. She is directly responsible for the horrible prisoner abuse by the North Vietnamese and even the deaths of some of those brave men, and she will never ever be forgiven by we who served.

When she “toured” a POW camp, men handed her slips of paper to give to their families and she turned them over to the camp Commandant and the men were tortured. She can call herself a Christian, but calling yourself one and being one are two different things. No Christian would have done what she did.

You will hear some people say they will get around to giving their soul to God, but all souls belong to
God. Each is precious in its own way. There has not been but one soul condemned, and that soul is Satan himself. Even the fallen angels can choose to bow once more before the throne of God, but they do not have Jesus as savior, so that is unlikely. The Kenites(son’s of Cain), even though they are offspring of Satan, having been born of woman, qualify for redemption. The ‘Geber’….halfbreeds, human and nephilim, are born of woman, and theoretically can accept Christ and be saved.
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Judge not.

Yeah…I myself only found three I could readily identify. A couple others may have, but it’s hard to say. Having belief in Christian/biblical principles and working on living them out to the best of one’s understanding is a great start. Jesus, however, gave us the ultimate requirement for eternity with Him in John 3:3, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of Heaven”. This is the only official way, according to scripture, that the title of Christian is awarded to us by God. The reason for this can be found in Eph. 2:8-9 (I’ll let you guys look that one up to keep the length of this post down). Here’s the breakdown I made, based solely on whether, to my knowledge, these individuals have professed to being born again:

      Kristin Chenowith No
      Kirk Cameron Yes
      Jane Fonda No

Brian “Head” Welch Yes (check out his video testimony: http://www.iamsecond.com/seconds/brian-welch/ )

      Carrie Underwood Maybe
Chris Tucker Yes, he’s quoted as saying so above, so I’m glad for that; consequently, my advice to him would be: marry the live-in or move out.

      Denzel Washington Maybe
      Chuck Norris Yes
      Jay Mohr No
      Martin Sheen No

If there are any above I have listed as “no” who have made this profession and I’m not aware of it, feel free to post linked evidence if possible.

Only God knows the condition of their heart. What we see of entertainers is very limited compared to their every day life. No Christian is perfect. Some are babes in the Word. I still consider myself one with 30 years of almost regular Sunday school &church attendance, listening to Bible teachers, and my own Bible study to just be able to say I’m beginning to know God’s Word as a whole, the story of how sin entered; God’s chosen people constantly rebelling and returning to God only to turn to other gods and idols again, the messages of the prophets; the lineage of Jesus; how Satan tried everything to prevent the King from being born, etc. and then Jesus’ teachings and wisdom and how he was so misunderstood and thought to be weak, and so much more. I grew up in church but it wasn’t until my 30′s when it started to really see the Light. I can’t knock anyone who’s on there journey in their faith-some are further along than others. At least they’re not following some cult or guru and it’s not for us to judge. But what’s evident does give some indication of what’s within their hearts, but again, we are in no position to point fingers, until we get the log out of our own eye. But I do question how can a Christian, actively studying the Bible, can overrule God’s Word which reads men lying with men is an abomination to God. To me that means that lifestyle is out of bounds according to God. Intimate love is reserved for a man with a woman. His design, not ours. Just sayi

@pudssweetie I actually know quite a bit about Mormons and their attempt to mainstream. The fact of the matter is, all I need to know about Mormonism is summed up right here.

      Galatians 1:6-10

6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!

10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

If you knew anything about Mormonism you would know they fit this verse to a tee. There is no additional Gospel. The Bible is it. Joseph Smith was a charlatan and a false prophet. It is evidenced by his fruits. The additional requirements for salvation, the character of God and Christ, the becoming a God yourself, the polygamy, the treatment of blacks and focus on whites, the requirement of works for salvation. Mainstreaming it doesn’t make it better. A pan of brownies made with poo is still brownies with poo, even if you picked out the bi

And does hate make you a better Christian than me? Pray tell.

As for your understand of the LDS religion, which you yourself claim to be an expert on, let me give you a morsel to chew on. You say that Joseph Smith was anti-Black. Did you know that he was running for POTUS the year he was assassinated. That’s relevant because Missouri (home to a large number of Mormons at the time), as I’m sure you know, was pivotal during the period of deciding slavery in this country. One of the key elements of Joseph’s platform was to end slavery, and many speculate that this was a major reason for his eventual martyrdom. The LDS Church was known for being kind to Blacks, even when it was not PC or socially expedient to do so at that time. Another recorded instance shows that Joseph sold one of his favorite horses in order to buy the freedom of a slave that he had befriended. Sorry, WingNut, we don’t buy your hate here. @Wingnut – I like your taste in hockey teams but, I fail to understand how being Catholic equals not being a Christian. Is this a matter of church doctrine? I am asking honestly without hostility.

@contessa I will try to explain. I believe that Jesus’ death on the cross is all that is needed for salvation. The Catholic Church says that more is needed. You must be baptized. They, also, give Mary equal status with Jesus as a Saviour. The Bible says For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8,9 I believe that this means that there is nothing else we can do to be saved, not baptism, church membership, good works, nothing. If there is more needed then Christ’s sacrifice is cheapened. Now, I will never say that there won’t be Catholics in Heaven. But I believe the Church’s teaching is flawed.

Catholics are Christians, the original ones. There are different rites: Roman, Syrian, Orthodox, etc. but 1 Body, 1 Lord, 1 Church. Lutherans, Presbyterians, Episcopalians, Methodists, Baptists, Evangelicals & other Christian communities are rooted in Catholicism. Catholics have made grave errors & committed grave sins. So have the believers in every other part of the Body of Christ. You may think the sex abuse scandal tells how bad the Catholic Church is. Wait til you see how bad it is in other faiths. My foster-father was a Baptist minister & I spent 10 years as an Anglican. I’ve also helped write 1 book on healing after being raped as a child & am working on 1 of my own. I know how bad it is.

Catholics do some amazing things for Christ like feeding the hungry & providing education & free healthcare. Catholics not only believe the Bible is the Word of God, Catholics made certain it didn’t contain false “gospels” that weren’t written by the apostles. Catholics translated the Bible into Latin, the common language of the time, so everyone could read it. When Latin was no longer the common language, Catholics didn’t want just anyone making translations of the Bible. But not to withhold it rather, to make certain translations didn’t include false teachings. They didn’t handle that well but neither did Protestants. We’ve committed sins against each other & must forgive if we love Christ.

I’d like to know why you think Catholics are not Christians.

Is it just a leftist bias or the inability to report factual data? Many of the stories I’ve seen here defy even the most elementary journalistic standards. The word “allegedly” is completely misused by MSM reporters as well, and it usually indicates they have no basis for the report and are playing CYA. As for Ms. Fonda, it seems that most of the causes in which she engages are fads engendered to keep her in the public eye. She adopted Christianity as her latest fad when she caught ex-hubby Ted Turner cheating – suddenly, one of them there commandments made sense – but her depth of study or understanding is about like my capacity to leap tall buildings at a single bound.

What was the definition of “Christian” used to be eligible to make this list. Though I haven’t heard the testimony of all of these people, I have heard the testimony of 3 or 4. Their testimony includes their realization that they were a lost sinner headed for hell and put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the Cross.

I’ll go out on a limb here and say some on that list aren’t Christians, but God will be the judge of that. Hopefully, before they die, all of them will truly be Christians.

Jesus can change anyone. That being said, I personally have not seen any evidence that Fonda converted to Christianity since I heard the news of it about 15 or 20 years ago. When I heard that she did, I thought it was really great. Now I’m skeptical. But, it’s really none of my business either……….

Some guys from Tool and another band took to MTV to ridicule him for his decision to embrace Christ as his Savior. At the end of the day, he’s a very talented guy who has been greatly blessed.

A few yes, but I lost a lot of respect for Carrie when she said her thing about gay marriage, fact is scripture is clear about homosexuality. Great for Chris Tucker but the scripture is also clear about marriage before sex. So some things need to be cleared up.

The Blaze refers to Hanoi Jane’s anti-American activities as “alleged”. BULL#$%!!!!

She confessed to them, and half-heartedly apologized for them about 10years ago. The the Blaze puts her on a list of “Christians” because she defines her “christianity” thus –

That is what feminism is, and that’s what Jesus taught.”

BULL#$%!! Whats the matter, Billy, too tight a schedule to do your homework?!????

You will know them by their fruits. What are the fruits they have sewn? Are they growing in faith? We need to abide in Him (word) and He will abide in us. You must be, as Paul and others put it, be born again. Loose a life to gain a life.

God Bless them all. When we all act and do what is expected of Christians The Word will be spread. What you do and what you say makes a big difference in peoples lives and the best way is truth not lies, love not hate, peace and freedom for all and do unto others as you would want them to do unto you. Go out and be disciples and see if the World doesn’t change for the better. If it doesn’t there is still evil amongst us. Have a good day.

Here’s why this story is pointless… There are 3.2 BILLION Christians on this planet. Why should we act like Christians are needles in haystacks?? Just because the media wants us to believe that gays, atheists and minorities are the majority doesn’t mean we have to believe it. 80% of America identifies openly with Christianity.
