Megyn Kelly Fights Giggles Over Democrats’ Sesame Street Woes

With Joe Soptic already firmly ensconced as the ultimate symbol of dishonest negative ads this election cycle (flashback: he’s the guy featured in the anti-Obama ads claiming Romney contributed to his wife’s death), the Obama campaign is evidently trying to make Big Bird their newest victim of Mitt Romney. And Fox News’s Megyn Kelly had trouble Tuesday keeping a straight face over it.

While the 2012 election is being fought out in swing states, the Obama campaign apparently is campaigning someplace that doesn’t even exist — namely, Sesame Street. The campaign’s recent “Big Bird” ad has drawn widespread mockery, as well as a demand that it be rescinded by the people who make Sesame Street. Kelly took to the air today to break the news.

The normally unflappable Kelly visibly had trouble maintaining her composure as she began. ”In just the last hour, the folks at Sesame Street reached out to the Obama campaign and asked them to stop using Big Bird…”

Kelly paused and looked to be stifling laughter as she continued.

“…in their campaign ads. Ever since Governor Romney said he would cut funding for PBS at the debate, the children’s characters have become stars on the campaign trail.”

Kelly then played the Big Bird ad, her amusement still highly visible when it concluded.

“Republicans taking note: A new page at the RNC website has the Count, you know Count Dracula, tracking the Obama campaign and pointing out that the President has mentioned Big Bird 8 times and Elmo 5 times at recent events,” Kelly said, audibly chuckling after the mention of Elmo. “There has been zero talk of Libya, or plans to fix the economy, according to the Count. Now, apparently the folks at Sesame Street have had about enough of this.”

As a musician I understand completely why government wants to have a hand in PBS. And it’s not because of “the children”. It’s no different in the music industry of those who want to take an artist, corrupt them and make a buck. Their trick is to sign a young artist and then they are beholding to what they’ve signed. So the artist needs a lawyer. And that has something to do with music? The real musician can be one without the governments help (as in “save the music”). As if music would no longer be without them. Same for public broadcasting. Once the government gives their tax dollars they know that those people who took it are now beholding and addicted to them. Those who are for such programs are in keeping with their denigration of the signer by then appealing to the public emotionally as if “it’s the children who will suffer”. As if the general public or those hypocrites in hollywood couldn’t make up the difference in the monies themselves. In other words they believe that our children are nothing without Big Bird and all that comes with it. The truth is that PBS should never have accepted government help in the first place. They’re delusional thinking is that “So what if China owns us, the children still have a fake bird to teach them.

I gotta say, using “The Campaign Count” was a stroke of genius. Whoever was responsible for this idea should get a big “attaboy” from Mitt. Well conceived and brilliantly executed.

“Truth of the matter is” ( and I like to use that phrase because liberals always do) This approach for Obama is bad news. Since Romney slapped all the “cool” off of him it makes no sense at all. This is a jiven and stoken routine reserved for “cool people” and Obama is not a cool person anymore, he’s a looser.

Who would have thought the nominee would lie for 90minutes and
reverse EVERY POSITION he’s had for the last few months.
      Obama was catatonic.
      Now he knows better.

Why not … Obama and the Dems have nothing to offer so they use something to get the kids excited about. Time to send Big Bird to Saudi Arabia where they are having chicken shortage. This issue has become like he word racist .. no one is listening.
