CNBC Anchor Ambushes NY Jets Owner With Awkward Question About Tim Tebow’s Virginity

New York Jets owner Woody Johnson appeared on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” Wednesday morning to discuss football, politics, and the status of football star Tim Tebow’s virginity.

No, seriously.

It started out innocently enough when co-host Becky Quick asked Johnson whether Tebow would be with the Jets next year.

“Absolutely. Yeah, he’ll be with us for three years and I think he’s going to … be a real valuable asset in terms of helping us win games,” said Johnson.

So far, so good.

“Do you know — is he still a virgin? Woody? Do you know?” Kernen asked.

Oh, weird.

“I don’t really want to go into that,” a nervous Johnson laughed.

“It’s just that, you know, inquiring minds want to know,” Kernen continued, “We ask the tough questions here on ‘Squawk Box.’”

“No, No. I don’t know,” Johnson deadpanned, “I know a couple of the ladies here in your makeup room really like him. I know that.”

“Becky, are you embarrassed?” one host asked Quick.

“I’m turning the same color as my dress,” she responded, much to the panel’s amusement.

Kernen tried to change the subject (to Johnson’s tie, no less), but the damage had already been done: everyone was uncomfortable.

    i didn’t realize how sick that man is. i saw him on shows last year with his then fifth grader daughter. he gave no indication of his illness. tebow is grown but is someone’s child. what if kernan were asked if his daughter were still a virgin?

      It’s a wonder they didn’t asked Woody if he ever lived up to his name. Probably Becky was wore out before she ever got married! Sometimes being a virgin pays off, less chance of getting married to some cast aside floozey. One of my 3 sons almost married a two time loser, untill he found out she couldn’t have kids.

    Ask me that question on national television: you will get an awkward, painfully silent…. nothing!
    Thats right, such a stupid question does not deserve the privilege of hearing a word, let alone a sentence. ANY answer is the wrong one when dealing with the imbecilic left.

    The silence will not be awkward to me, but rest assured the host/hostess will scramble, for they will never have seen such a genius response. Let her hang in the thunder of silence-let her agenda fall off track- let her be embarrassed by her own stupidity.

    Tim Tebow is possibly the most persecuted athlete to ever play the game. It is absolutely sickening how far liberal jerks will go to try to demonize and disrespect him. Joe Kernan should be ashamed of himself. So should 90% of the bigoted sports “journalists” and bloggers out there, who won’t give the man a shred of respect.

    These same people who want to tear down Tim Tebow will get up on their high horse to defend a Michael Vick, a Cam Newton, or a Jonathan Vilma. I’m looking at you, Keyshawn Johnson.

      Almost all his wins came from the help of a strong defense that kept him in tight games up until the last quarter. His comeback wins do show that he is quite decent at remaining focused and performing in the clutch, though. The Broncos developed a playbook for Tebow that was unconventional and very gimmicky, partly because the QB switch was midway into the season. It was only a matter of time before opponent defenses knew enough to predict what plays he would do, and the Patriots took him to school in the Divisional playoffs….even with a lackluster defense. Tebow could possibly get somewhere if a team spent an offseason to perfect a playbook tailored to his playstyle, but other than that, his mechanics are mediocre at best.

    This confirms that we don’t have many good news reporters but a lot of magazine gossip reporters. We are in rough times and this is what they come up with for questions? Come on news station get back to good and honest news so we can want to watch again. Why even keep tv when we get reruns or gossip channels.
