Pat Smith Says White House Has Been Telling Her Outright Lies About Libya Attack

The mother of one of the Americans killed in the deadly terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi wants answers about her son’s death — which really doesn’t sound like too much to ask.

Instead, she says the Obama administration has been stonewalling; and one month later, she is still waiting for the answers that were promised to her. In fact, the administration has told her “outright lies” about the Libya assault, she said.

Pat Smith, the mother of Sean Smith, a State Department official killed in the Libya attack, told CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Wednesday that President Barack Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joe Biden told her they would tell her the truth about what happened to her son.

“They promised me. I told them please, tell me what happened. Just tell me what happened,” she said. “I told them don’t give me any bologna – you can keep your political stuff. Just tell me the truth. And I still don’t know. In fact, today I heard that he died of smoke inhalation.”

“You don’t know the cause of death?” Cooper asked, visibly surprised.

“No, I don’t,” Smith replied. “I look at the TV and I see bloody hand prints on walls thinking, is that my son’s? I don’t know. They haven’t told me anything.”

Smith also said the Obama administration has been telling her “outright lies” about the attack. She revealed that U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice and other senior officials told her that the attack occurred because of the anti-Muslim YouTube video that was originally blamed for the assault.

“In fact, all of them did. All of them did,” she added. “Leon Panetta actually took my face in his hands like this and he said, ‘trust me. I will tell you what happened.’ And so far, he’s told me nothing. Nothing at all. And I want to know.”

Smith also recounted her interaction with President Obama himself at a reception.

“I cried on Obama’s shoulder and then he kind of looked off into the distance,” Smith said. “So that was worthless to me. I want a note for God’s sake.”

“You deserve answers,” Cooper agreed.

The investigation into the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi last month, where Smith was killed along with three other Americans, is ongoing. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee held a special hearing on Wednesday to address the attack.

I think that the poorly made and stupid video was actually found and put out by the Obama Admin for “cover”. Most of the flag burning, rioting protestors never even saw the video and btw, who translated the video into Arabic two months after it first was on You Tube? No doubt a CIA operative under direction of the Obama Admin.

It was known three days beforehand that there would a terrorist attack on the Libyan Ambassador (we still don’t know why, or who wanted him dead) but there is no doubt in my mind that he was killed with arms provided by the Obama Admin.

Let’s see. Navy Seal team 6 takes out Osama Bin Laden. Most who know what really happened are dead. In F&F, Border Patrol Agents are armed with bean bag guns – one dead, one badly injured.

Our only hope is that non-partisan whistle blowers start speaking up.

  Name one mistake Obama or his admin has made and owned up to it? They don’t and can’t. They blame someone or something for their mistakes. Four killed in Libya — blamed a lame film.   Obama voted aginst anything that protected the 2 ND Ammendment and has been quite since being elected. If re-elected he will try his best to make all null & void in his 2 nd term.That far away look came on his face as the mother cried on his shoulder and he was thinking “Cra_p she’s ruining my $5,000 suit.

Simply SHAMEFUL! I will be absolutely amazed, if we even see Hillary Clinton again. I believe she has sunk any possibility of ever, being elected to any public office. Obama has no conscious, we’re stuck with him and Jimmy Carter as long as there is a need for roofing nails.

Not that it’s any consolation for that poor woman, but she did a lot of damage to Obama tonight.
My jaw was on the floor as she described how full of crap Obama, Biden, Panetta, Susan Rice, etc. were… all thinking they were smoothing her over with their feigned sincerity and promises to tell her the truth about what happened to her son.
Tonight, she kicked them all in the nuts on national television.
I’ll bet her phone starts ringing in the morning with all those same phonies, apologizing and begging her not to tell her story again, in exchange for the truth… this time.

I was just thinking about and praying for the family members of these victims today. While I was listening to this continuing saga via the radio, I wondered how the families were faring–where they were–and if their voices would be heard. I am glad to read they ARE at least being heard–but I hope they keep up the pressure until they have the answers for which they seek. They deserve to know the TRUTH. I am praying hard that the COMPLETE TRUTH IS EXPOSED and EXPOSED SOON.

Mrs. Smith, I’m sorry for YOUR loss AND ours. From recent accounts, it appears that your son ran INTO the face of fire and tried to help. I’m not privy to his last moments, but I can assure you, that thoughts of you were there. A child dying before you, is a fate I hope I will never have to face. I can not imagine your pain. That he was your only only child…words fail me. I am so very, very sorry. From all accounts, he died trying to save others. Those words matter not, yet they do.

Mrs. Smith I am so very sorry for your loss. Your son was a patriot. Unfortunately, our president is not and he will lie and deny about whatever it takes to get re-elected. Obama knows that he failed you and your son, but he will never admit that he did anything wrong. God Bless Your Son and the other three that were lost in Libya.

The relatives of the victims are the only ones who can bring this home to the American people. This administration is an embarrassment. Are there any real journalists out there? Hello? This administration can’t tell the truth about anything. Not even about the dead. This alone is reason enough to vote them out of power completely. Take back our government & let justice fall where it may.

In my opinion, none of the murder victims died of smoke inhalation.
I believe they were all four tortured, and died a slow painful death.
