Less than two days after she was bombarded with hateful messages on Twitter because she publicly endorsed GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, actress Stacey Dash, perhaps best known for her starring role in Clueless, sat down with Piers Morgan on CNN to discuss the fury that ensued following her seemingly innocent tweet.
“Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future. @mittromney @teamromney #mittromney #VOTE #voteromney,” Dash posted on her official Twitter page, along with a photo of herself with an American flag.
Morgan sarcastically introduced Dash on Tuesday as “the most controversial woman in America” because “she had the audacity as a black actress to vote for Mitt Romney.”
“When I read about this, I felt offended for you,” the host added. “I don’t have a horse in this race. I’m British. I can’t vote for anybody. But the idea that you as a black actress would come under such venomous attacks purely because you decided to vote for one of the two candidates is extremely objectionable.”
Dash, who is 47-years-old but looks 20 years younger, explained that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and she merely used her platform to exercise her “First Amendment right as an American citizen” to say who she was voting for.

Surprisingly, Dash actually voted for Barack Obama in 2008 but she has switched her vote because of the current “state of the country.” Dash says she is ready for real change.
“I want the next four years to be different,” she added. “I chose (Romney), not by the color of his skin but by the content of his character.”
Dash said she really doesn’t understand why her tweet caused such an uproar. She said she is “shocked” and “saddened” but not “angry” about the unfair attacks against her, adding the incident shows that we are not united as a nation.
Morgan proceeded to read some of the nasty tweets targeting the actress. “Kill yourself you old hag,” read Morgan, who later called the messages “very disgusting.”
“That’s a little harsh,” Dash agreed.
The actress also revealed that vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan has since reached out to her. She said Ryan told her she is brave and that she has both his support and Romney’s.
“I thought that was just so generous and kind,” she said. The Obama campaign has not reached out to her.
As for other African-Americans who feel personally obligated to vote for Obama because he is black, Dash advised them to do their “homework.”
“Do your homework. Look at your country. Think about the next four years of your life,” she said. “Also, look at Mitt Romney’s track record. As a CEO, he has excelled. As governor of Massachusetts, he did quite well. And listen to what he says — I believe him and I believe he deserves a shot.”
Before ending the interview, Morgan told Dash that he defends her right to “vote for who the hell you like.”
“The idiots who are tweeting you are… clueless,” Morgan said.

Oct. 10, 2012 at 1:57amClint Eastwood supports Romney and no one touched him. This intelligent, black actress does the same and all hell breaks loose. The Left will throw bombs until they all snuff themselves. If you don’t agree with them then you’re the enemy and you must be destroyed. I wish more intelligent actors and people in the public eye would stand up for what’s right and not be afraid to endorse Romney/Ryan 2012. Bravo Ms. Dash!

The Left hate truly independent strong women, the same way they attack any minority that speaks their mind and does not follow the PARTY line. These people are as conformist as they come, following Marxist ideology to the “T”
They’ve already conformed to the Slave mentality promoting fear in all who chose to leave the plantation. Funny how History keeps repeating its self….

Oct. 10, 2012 at 3:16amNo, everyone went after Clint Eastwood and every celebrity that endorsed Romney, they are just worse on those that are black and support Romney. Obama definately does not have a monopoly on black supporters, they own him nothing.
Here is another black star who endorsed Romney ( http://www.thedailycandidate.com/video/2012/oct/college_star_romney.html ) that conservatives haven’t seen yet who has been viciously attacked by black Obama supporters. Both Dash and he are black, voted for Obama in 2008 and are now voting Romney. Good for them.

Oct. 10, 2012 at 3:17amYou are right. Clint Eastwood was attacked less because he represents what libs believe conservatives are, old white men. Let a woman, let alone a black woman, stand up against Obama, she must be destroyed. She is too dangerous to two of their main voting bases, women and the African American communities. Stacy Dash has brains and class.

Oct. 10, 2012 at 8:06amWhat is conspicuously noteworthy is where are the Black ministers like Sharpton and Jackson, not just a Black actress? This president has supported men marrying men and women marrying women and the slaughter of the unborn. Where is the outrage? Unlike Ms. Dash they have no integrity to their claimed values. Her reasons for supporting Romney may have nothing to do with the above, but where is the content of Sharpton and Jackson’s ‘Christian character?’ I guess squarely behind Obama.

Oct. 10, 2012 at 2:51pmIt sure is something where a black woman has to defend herself for who she votes for. The black community is so blatantly racist. Can you imagine if the one white person said they were going to vote for Obama and then she had to deal with thousands of attacks from fellow whites calling her a sellout? I mean we hear about how racist whites were in the 1870s, but they can’t hold a candle to the racism that exists in the black community of today. You see blacks punching whites without provocation on a daily basis. You didn’t see whites doing that kind of stuff to blacks in the 1870s or even 1840s. The “chosen people” would like whites to believe that they acted that way (like randomly assaulting blacks walking down the street) but the reality is, it didn’t happen. However that awful behavior has been going on towards whites for decades, however. The “chosen people” ran Marxist Media won’t point that stuff out though. They only have an agenda of painting all whites as racists and all blacks as sweet, innocent little victims. The Founding Fathers never anticipated “chosen people” from Eastern Europe and Russia hijacking our media in the late 1800s and then using that media as an instrument of leftist, socialist propaganda.

.there is unconfirmed reports that when Romney met with conservative leaders in the House and Senate about balancing the budget and making cuts, $10 Trillion in cuts, the Congress leaders said “sure, in 10 years” and Romney said ” no, in 4 years”…that is very much in line with a Rand Paul budget and goes way further than even the Paul Ryan budget and quicker…that would mean not just rolling back to 2008 pre-Obama, pre-TARP levels but then cutting another $500 Billion or more per year from 2008 levels…Romney is talking of an effective budget under $2 Trillion, balanced by the end of his first term, and returning control to the States and cutting departments.. sounds a little Ron Paul like…

You call Paul supporters clueless eh?
Why dont you look into the fraud played out during the primaries and how whole counties were not counted ie Maine and Nevada, they simply came in with zero votes. Those counties just happened to be heavily in favor for Paul. The freedom movement worked within the rules of the state conventions by staying and electing representation for the RNC. The corruption you elude to did take place but it was by the Republican establishment not the grass roots constitutional movement.
Rand Paul has obviously sold out on his principals by supporting Romney and shows that he does not have the character his father does. Rand Paul acts in favor of his career and not his beliefs. That is common ground he shares with Romney.
This was the funniest part of your post, you claim Romney in secrecy wants to cut ten trillion dollars! If that were the case I would vote for him, but it is not. You should have watched the debate, if you did you would have heard Romney say numerous times he does not want to lower the income the federal govt gets from taxes ie his belief in a centrally planned economy. He also stated he does not want to cut subsidies for education but rather increase them. So why is there such a contradiction between the Romney that is seen on tv every day proposing big govt solutions and the man you claim wants to cut ten trillion of the fed budget? I would venture to claim you are Clueless and a Naive. No better than Obama supporters

Sure, I expect the “gangstas”, the ghetto dwellers and women whose “job” is to have as many babies, by as many different fathers as possible, as their source of income. They are the dredge of society, and are expected to vote for a man who has no past, no future, and would rather play than work.

Oct. 10, 2012 at 6:05amI believe there are more Conservative blacks than people realize. Something good I check out sometimes is a guy named ET Williams. AKA “angry black man”. He’s got a site and a book called “Whatever Happened to Common Sense?” He’s really funny and he goes off on Obama all the time.
Check him out!

Oct. 10, 2012 at 11:15amRead “It’s Okay to Leave the Plantation” The author is a black man, that grew up during the civil rights era….and started life as a young man, caught up in the “Black Power – Fight the Man” mentality. He talks about his realization that the modern Democrat party has turned liberal politics into the modern day plantation.
Dependence on the master (government)
Compares old slave yard pastors (who covertly worked for the plantation master for personal gain) to modern day black community leaders (REV. Jessie Jackson, REV. Al Sharpton, etc.) and their effort to keep the status quo
Describes the punishment for attempting to leave the plantation with the modern day ostracization of those that dare go against the stream (Herman Cain, Clarence Thomas, Mia Love, Allan West, etc)
It’s hard to see the art of the possible, when someone imposes an artificial ceiling on you. We’ve elected our first minority president, and all you hear from the LEFT is that people are holding you down, you can’t do it without us….you’ll never amount to anything otherwise.
If the leaders in the black community would be honest & straight with the community at large, you’d probably have more free thinking blacks. So long as someone who disagrees with the standard progressive platform is instantly asked to kill themselves, called a race traitor, and accused of being an OREO….conservative / libertarian thought will be repressed.

Oct. 10, 2012 at 1:37amGood Girl! Thank you for speaking with honesty and conviction–you are a better woman than most with what you put on the line in many ways.
Food for thought: so Ryan called her? Very classy and the right thing to do, but what is missing? Oh yah, no cameras or press conferences and morons running to the mics on R/R behalf to show how wonderful they are like what was done in the disgusting case of fluke an bo. Just the right thing to do, once again, when no one is looking, the hearts of men are revealed.
Nice for one of bo’s staff to reach out to her and let her know that she should not have to be persecuted for her freedom of speech based on racism and would she reconsider her vote????
Yes, truly when no one is looking, the hearts of men/women are revealed.
BTW-Morgan is a condescending pr–. Always has been, and sadly probably always will be. although, folks can change—I really don’t hold out a lot of hope for him though…

The best wrinkle solution:Less trips to the food bank. A job. And a savings account. Vote ROMNEY/RYAN, ladies.

God bless Stacey Dash. She’s voting for Romney because he’s a man of great moral character.
Her eyes and heart have been opened. She sees what damage Obama has done to America. She sees what evil deeds Obama has planned for America, in his second term.
Mitt Romney is America’s only hope for a future. He has vowed to put God back in America.

Oct. 10, 2012 at 1:08amCharacter is required. As Malcom X said over and over in his 60′s speech Negros are being CHUMPED.
And if you can see the truth and you want your country to fail, then you have an agenda. And it’s clearly not peace, unity, opportunity and prosperity for all. God Bless Stacey Dash she is putting her Country First and knows leadership requires proven, quality character and not an agenda of division and destruction.

Oct. 10, 2012 at 1:47pmObama’s agenda never had prosperity in it. It has always been about equality at the cost of prosperity. I think that he wants us all to be the same because that makes us easier to dictate to.

Oct. 10, 2012 at 1:06amIf I were a liberal I’d be so embarrassed by these obvious left wing attacks on a black woman. That’s one big difference between liberals and conservatives, they have no shame. One of the other differences is they are clueless. Another is they’re full of crap, and highly explosive when exposed to an open flame. It’s the methane!

Oct. 10, 2012 at 1:03am47!? Wow, smokin hot, and a true thinking American woman. She should be held up as an example of how people in this country should behave. Even with all the poisonous and hateful responses to her tweet, she still handled it with grace and style. I think it speaks volumes as to her character that rather than worry for herself, she was more hurt by seeing just what a poor state the country is in. I think she actually felt bad for these lowlifes because they are too blinded by racial division to see the truth that is staring them in the face. Kudos to Stacey

Oct. 10, 2012 at 1:10amThere is a great double standard in the US. It’s totally acceptable for blacks to threaten to kill whites simply because they are white. It’s totally acceptable for blacks to assault you because of your race. It’s totally acceptable for blacks to launch insults and slurs at you because of your race. Liberals like to treat the black community with kid gloves and treat them like little children. Until you start treating blacks as adults, they will continue to act like angry brats.

Oct. 10, 2012 at 12:59amAwesome lady. May God bless her and may her’s and our hope come true that this great nation will be saved by a Romney/Ryan election. It was nice of Ryan to reach out to her. We need leadership in Washington DC that can bring this country back together. I am not at all shocked that the anti-bully President hasn’t said a word to her bc she isn’t for him…such poor leadership. He is the biggest bully to ever live in America and if we aren’t voting for him we are his enemies.
