Bobby Sullivan of Hanson, Massachusetts, Circumvents Building Codes to Keep His Anti Obama Signs Up

Bureaucrats from the town of Hanson might have told a local business owner that his massive anti-Obama signs violated building codes, but that business owner isn’t backing down.

You may remember Bobby Sullivan, a motorcycle parts salesman from Hanson, Massachusetts, who decided to publicly voice his discontent about the current administration by putting up several signs bearing saucy inscriptions about President Obama (read our past report here).

“Somewhere in Kenya, a village is missing its idiot,” read one.

“Thanks Obama, you’ve spent my lunch money, my allowance, my inheritance, 35 years of future paychecks, and my retirement, you jerk,” read another, which depicted a little girl appearing to give the middle finger.

There was just one problem: The signs were apparently so large that they violated Hanson building codes. As such, the town asked Sullivan to take them down.

Unfortunately for them, Sullivan had a better idea. Instead of taking down his signs, he bought a 45 foot flat bed tractor trailer and used it to hold up the signs. This circumvented the building codes that required his signs to be smaller because now the signs are no longer considered “permanent.”

“This is America,” Sullivan told CBS Boston. “We have freedom of speech that’s what this was really all about. People in town didn’t like what I was saying and they tried to stop me”.

If they somehow find a reason to ticket and confiscate the trailer, let us know, and we can begin a fund to hire a helicopter to hover over town with signs hanging from the skids. There’s ALWAYS a way!

  FS… A blimp would be much cheaper. As for the Blaze comments being removed, Beck said on his show the other day, he had hired a lot of lefties. What idiot hires the very people that would sabotage his operations? Someone in the Blaze blog room is a fox in the hen house. You’d think with all the history Beck champions, he’d have heard about the Trojan Horse! Apparently not…

  My sister lives in Hanson. She’s seen the signs on the way to the dump and loves the signs. Now she knows she’s not alone. The people in Massachusetts drive her crazy with their politics, especially because she is a Texan.

  Here’s what I’ve noticed. If your comments aren’t posting, it’s most likely that their automatic filters spotted something. You can’t write any word with d – o – c… c – u – m… h – o – m – o… c – o – c… Etc. They will not post, even if it’s just mentioning the city C-mberland.   but we need to keep in mind that the local code laws need to be heeded; ie, you wouldnt want a 50′ balloon of Mickey Mouse or even Obama 5 feet from your fence.
