Megyn Kelly Rips Obama Campaign Spokesman Over ‘Name Calling’ Hypocrisy, Libya: ‘I Want You to Answer My Question’

On Thursday, Megyn Kelly, host of “America Live” on the Fox News Channel, called out Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt over the campaign’s broken promise to keep the “vitriol” and “name calling” out of the presidential race. Since making that pledge, team Obama has continually called GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney a “liar,” Kelly pointed out.

Kelly began by playing a video featuring various campaign officials calling Romney names, including a “liar” and a “etch-a-sketch guy.”

The host then followed up that video with another showing President Barack Obama recently saying: “We have to get to the point where we can have a conversation about big important issues that matter to the American people, without vitriol, without name calling, without assumptions of the worst in other people’s motives.”

“What happened to that message?” Kelly asked LaBolt.

LaBolt initially avoided answering the question and instead started talking about the vice presidential debate, forcing Kelly to interrupt him.

“I’m asking you what happened to that message,” she said. “I want to talk to you about the vice presidential debate but I don’t want you to spin. I want you to answer my question, respectfully.”

Kelly continued: “My viewers will say let’s have an answer to the question. The question is: President Obama said no vitriol, no name calling. Let’s have an honest conversation without questioning a man’s character. And yet Stephanie Cutter and all those other people you have just saw calling Mitt Romney a liar. What happened to President Obama’s commitment to no name calling and no character attacks?”

Labolt seemingly justified the personal character attacks, saying “28 days before election day, Mitt Romney has suddenly decided to try to hide the policies he’s been advocating for the last six years.”

“Last week on the debate stage he pretended not to know anything about the central economic premise of his candidacy,” he added.

Kelly then pressed the Obama campaign spokesman further to clarify the campaign’s position on name calling and personal attacks.

“What I hear you saying is, it’s okay for the president to go back on that commitment through this team and surrogates and others because, in your view, Mitt Romney is a liar,” Kelly said, a little edge in her voice. “You are saying it’s justified because you really, really believe it.”

LaBolt said he didn’t “think” the goal of the Obama campaign was to “name call.”

Kelly also grilled LaBolt about the fallout following the terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi. She correctly stated that President Obama said Romney has a tendency to “shoot first and aim later” after the Republican issued a statement slamming the administration’s handling of the attack. However, it is now apparent that it was the Obama administration, including the president himself, that was giving the American people and members of Congress bad information by blaming the attack on an anti-Muslim video instead of terrorism.

“In the wake of the testimony we heard on Capitol Hill about how this was a preplanned attack on our embassy, on our consulate in Libya, and it didn’t have to do with the video — directly contrary to what this administration told us in the days after this attack — didn’t you shoot first and aim later?” asked Kelly, practically the same question ABC’s Jake Tapper asked White House Press Secretary Jay Carney on Wednesday.

“I don’t think so,” LaBolt replied.

He, like Carney, said the Obama camp was working with the intelligence information they had at the time.

  It is not her job to support Romney. It is her job to try and find out the truth of what happened and report on it. That is the problem with the media today on both sides. They have left the business of reporting the truth and have entered the business of trying to spin the truth. The media is agenda driven and that is a huge problem.

  They’re toning it down after Hillary dissed Fox News. If Barack wins, FNC will be excluded from every major news conference. Remember when he tried to do the same back in 2009? All the other news outlets protested, and Barack backed off. This time they probably cheered inwardly. Just goes to show how completely the media has been taken over by the WH.

She got the information that anyone watching needed to see – the guy is a hack and a liar.   She is & has always been a lib before she was an Obama supporter. This is nothing but enabling by her. She lets to many unsupported comments go un-challenged on purpose. It helps the cause. We have a cultural problem in our society. We are taught to support your teem regardless of the right or wrong side of a position. The teem mentality is what I call it. A lot of people will vote democratic or republican based on the party desires not on what is right for them. I see interviews of coal minors in the coal states that are supporting Obama even though they have his words on video telling them he going to phase out coal. I think sports have played into this mentality. As this song points out politicians have taken advantage of this weakness.   Megyn’s job is what every reporter SHOULD be doing, presenting the facts, not the spin, not supporting either side, just getting the straight story out. If she supported Romney, she would be no better than MSNBC or CNN, members of the Obama propaganda division of the White House.

  I kept waiting for her to inject “truth” into his statements and she just let him talk. Obama continued to blame the video for weeks. We have families who have lost their loved ones and they have given them only empty words and no further information on how they were killed. she was very nice to him. I think that POTUS immediate reaction to several situations have all been wrong. Mitt’s first shot was right. I think Mitt is pretty good shooting from the hip. When you have someone that is good a shooting from the hip let him shoot from the hip. BTW where was the 24 hr thing on the president did he have a different view before he addressed the world at the UN?

The one thing you can count on without fail is that every single thing “they” say is the diametric opposite.

If they are falsely accusing, it’s because that exact thing is THEIR exact transgression.

If they say they are concerned about something, it means they are grossly violating that thing.

The Globots are contrarians, and have raised hypocrisy, deception and self-delusion to an art form.

They broadcast everything they are thinking and planning, if you listen closely.

You might ask, “Why are we talking about this?” And it is because that something is being woven into a future scheme and theater.

I heard Michael Savage raving about Muslim extremists in 2009, and I didn’t know why, but I knew I smelled smoke.

Then I got this weird, unsolicited e-mail from Max Williams, a board member of a so-called human rghts activist site. It was a treatise he wrote, and it started “I’m a victim,” but quickly transformed (there’s that word again) into a rah-rah Islam thing.

I was thinking, “Huh?” Left-field, much?

Even if you don’t smell smoke, please believe Glenn when he yells, “Fire!”

It’s amazing how these so card American’s can have the same lieing story in a matter of minutes. Who puts these things out? FACT – Because I worked this Government proposal – the embassy and consulate in Libya had security cameras that tie directly into a command center in Virginia. These cameras record the attack – fact. They would have IMMEDIATELY shown there was no demonstation that it went directly to an attack. THUS NO MOB ACTION. The State Department would have known that immediately. It would not have taken even minutes to know it was an attack. Let alone days. Also, the Intelligent community never said or stated this was a mob that was first moved by a video. This thing was lied about from the very first minutes.
We have a President, Secretary of State, and UN Ambassador LIEING to the American people. PERIOD.

  A friend (“Bill”) of one of my very close friends (“Ted”) is in the intelligence community and Bill told Ted face to face that he knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that the President was properly briefed on the situation immediately. Ted’s impression was that Bill did the briefing. I wish Bill could go public with that accusation instead of having to filter it out as he is doing.

Over the years I’ve come to the conclusion that most politicians have a problem with the Truth but the current president and his administration doesn’t seem to even know what the Truth is or what it means.

But the American people are finally waking up to this and no matter who wins the next few administrations are going to be held to a higher standard than in the past.
