Ryan Takes Aim at Biden’s History of Gaffes: ‘Sometimes the Words Don’t Come Out of Your Mouth the Right Way’

Vice President Joe Biden took aim at Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s now-infamous 47 percent quip during tonight’s debate — an action that challenger Paul Ryan hysterically rebuffed.
After Biden lambasted Romney and seemingly attempted to paint his policies as unfriendly to the middle class, the vice-president called for a leveling of “the playing field” and a concerted effort to give every American “a fair shot.”
Watch Biden’s comments, below:
Ryan then responded by discussing the Republicans’ “five-point plan” to get America back on track and shared some of the details surrounding the Romney-Ryan plan. He also defended Romney’s generosity, humanizing the candidate and calling him both generous and a “good man.”
As far as the 47 percent debacle, after making pointed statements about his vision for the future, Ryan turned Biden’s criticisms against the vice-president, poking fun at his history of gaffes.

Posted on October 11, 2012 at 11:22pmRyan should have kept hammering the Lybia attack…bringing it up all night even when talking other subjects. Most uninformed people have no idea how messed up that whole thing was, and they may have become interested enough to look into it more. There is absolute treachery onthe Obama admin. on that deal.

Posted on October 11, 2012 at 11:33pmRyan should have kept hitting on everything but unlike Romney he listened to the rules and the moderator was able to take the spot light. Romney was better on this part getting his ability to fight back and answer the accusations of his opponent. But this could play to Ryan’s benefit as well.

Posted on October 12, 2012 at 1:39amI wish Ryan would have been able to correct more of Biden’s lies, but 82 interruptions from Biden makes it harder for Ryan to have the time to do that.

Posted on October 11, 2012 at 11:21pmIronically with all the antics Biden had the only laugh from the audience was about Pauls remarks about Bidens words not coming out right. Biden’s antics made biden seem clownish rather then take away from Paul’s points.

Posted on October 11, 2012 at 11:07pmRyan did pretty well, considering it was 2 to 1. However, Ryan and other conservatives need to take a cue from John Sununu and start giving back as well as they get. The libs are not nice and when you are polite they take it as a sign of weakness.
On Syria i think Ryan should have mentioned the off mike comment by 0bama about telling Putin he will ahve more flexibility after he is reelected

Posted on October 11, 2012 at 11:16pmThat was a missed opportunity, I felt that Ryan was playing it a little too safe. As to the 2 on 1, I definitely felt her liberal bias was showing. I know I sweared at the TV when she wouldn’t let Ryan finish his one point. I felt there that Ryan should have said something at that point.

Posted on October 12, 2012 at 12:20amAgreed. Ryan should have also taken the opportunity to bring up how the president has bypassed the Congress by going into Libya the first time. When Ryan was mentioning all the broken promises of Obama, I wished he had mentioned transparency, too.

Posted on October 11, 2012 at 10:58pmThe difference between Biden and Ryan is that Biden may have said a few gaffes. With Ryan, many of the things he has said are utter lies. Gaffes….lies. Silly, sometimes dumb statements, or total ******** that will be the middle class, the working people of this country’s unmaking. Make your choice.

Posted on October 11, 2012 at 10:58pmThe problem with biden smirking after failing for 4 years is that he is seen as a disconnected fool – further making the point that he needs to be replaced.
Biden’s antics are just another example of the obama DISTRACT tactic to get people from hearing real solutions.
Ryan remained steady – fighting off an emotional democrat moderator and an erratic Biden who has nothing left in the tank.

Posted on October 11, 2012 at 10:45pmBiden is the last of the “used car salesman” politician. I bet his dentures would feed me and my family for a year (on our dime BTW).
To me as long as the next Vice President (for now I’ll use capitol letters) can be a partner to the president and a capable replacement in case of a calamity that is the person that needs to be THE one.
Right now it is not the interrupter biden, he was a bully and boorish. The “moderator ” did not help but was not as bad as I thought she would be (that means she was only 75% on biden’s side instead of 95%). I think it was a draw on a none level playing field

Posted on October 11, 2012 at 10:32pmIn my opinion this debate will be seen in the eye of the beholder. Both participants were so practiced that the left will say that Biden won, while the right will say that Ryan won. And, this is coming from someone who is strongly on the right. To me it looks as though each has pandered heavily to their particular sides. To me, it looks like a draw, frankly.

Posted on October 11, 2012 at 10:40pmI have the same feeling. Although I also would say that in this debate the moderator came to the rescue in the form of allowing Biden to over interrupt Ryan. And also in the way of giving more time to Biden to respond comments from Ryan, than Ryan to do the same on Biden’s comments.

Posted on October 11, 2012 at 10:42pmHi RJJ,
A draw is OK because it doesn’t change the fact that Obama got slammed last week.
I think more Independents were swayed more towards Ryan than Biden in this debate.
Repub’s and Dem’s are still were they were before this. IMHO

Posted on October 11, 2012 at 10:31pmThat does it for me, and I’ve had my fill of debates. I’d had enough, and then Ryan put the icing on the cake when he said about the Mid-East doing “What’s in the National Security interests of Americans”, but the thing is that they don’t do that here, and so they aren’t gonna do it there. I think Romney and Ryan will win the election, and then they will be voted back out in four years (assuming we’re here), and then I think Democrats will have another 40 year run controlling Congress. That’s how it will go.

MEMO: Keep the focus on Foreign Intelligence as Joe Blow has been head of Committees for the past 40 years AND KNOWS IT ALL from secret intelligence meetings WHICH Ryan would have no idea…….
hence giving Joe the edge…Ryan is a numbers guy NOT a foreign policy expert as Joe THINKS he is..
